Fury=20%, banner of disc= about 8%, spotter, and lightning hammer are all precision boosts.
I suppose these American soldiers of yours also summoned spirits and tamed pets?
I laughed out loud at this, thank you.
Would be great. ( insert random rudeiand not justified comment about your skill level)
Please don’t upload any video with me as a mesmer, though.
I’d totally watch anything else than that.
Please stop saying necro dps is the lowest, for god’s sake. How can you make a rant post about people not understanding the game and still say necro’s flaws are in its dps is beyond me.
I’m selling sarcasm detector, pm me.
On topic:
eles, guards for top tier offensive and defensive support
thieves, rangers, engis, warriors for stealth/ unique party buffs/ average to great dps
mesmers for portal play
necros, poor them.
I play necro just in WvW roaming and PvE (yep, just hate me for that ^^). I’m leveling my third necro to lvl 80 and can’t tire it. In WvW the classical terrormancer is still usefull in duel/small group figths (didn’t tested it in mass attacks yet) and it work fine.
In PvE it’s ok that necro is’nt among the best dps classes BUT: in theory craft warrior does max 25K dmg in 8 sec with HB, DS power necro with LB spam dies 36,4K dmg in 8 sec (and theory craft doesn’t count the +10% in case of wielding axe, but the game does). In this way of thinking it’s not so bad if u see that u can maintain DS so long, in LS u have mid/high dmg rate to pop back into DS. + it’s fukkkkingly surviveable. I like my necros (dont misunderstand me, i would appreciate some buffing on it) and i’m satisfied with it.
In other, someone told above that necro is hard for new players. Well, i’m leveling (and leveled them) with D/W or D/F and it was easier and more fun than leveling a guardian, warrior, ranger or anything else, nearly never had to use utility/elite skills, or just for making the fight more fun/epic/stylish/spectacular, but nearly never for it’s real purpose.
40k damage for 8 sec is 5k dps, wich is between a half or a third of a staff ele. Necro dps is higher than that, and more precisely, their burst is insane with well+wh5+focus 4+ds5+ dagger aa. Last time I checked and it was quite a while ago, their dps ranged around 8,5k.
Dungeoneer isn’t a title everyone has, so I like showing it. I don’t specifically work towards others, but I may do them some day.
It’s about 75% of a level the first time of the day for explorable, and about 50% for stories. The fastest way is to run all dungeons with a 80 char and swap at each endboss.
Well yes, everything including naked no traits specs work in pve: what i meant is, it isn’t suited for it. As I said and keep spamming everywhere because it’s important, guardian is a defensive support class, and just like in www, you’re taking care of condi removals, damage mitigation, and healing for your whole party. But in pve, the fights are largely different: you don’t need 4-5 sec of stability on a 30 sec cooldown, having a permanent stability area, wich is also a firefield, and a +20% boon duration bonus, is far better. That’s why shouts aren’t used in pve. Consecrations and virtues offer far more condi cleanse, and they are better suited for pve. A shout spec will have to choose between spamming boons either for the boons in itself, or the heal from AH, or the condi cleanse. A virtue/ consecration guard will use Hallowed ground for the whole duration of the fight and provide condi cleanses via f2, for instance. Since unlike WwW, most if not all the damage is avoidable in pve, the usual meta spec is built around the idea of active defense. Blinds for trash mobs, aegis for bosses, and small duration protection with f3 to burst things down.
The core of the spec and the most used/ most suited for all situations is 4/5/0/0/5. This is an average dps build, with access to instant condi clear on f2/ stability on f3, reduced cooldown and longer consecrations, and blind spam with the radiance traitline. From there, there’s more damaging options like 4/6/2/0/2, but it’s less supportive. Gear is full berserker, and you don’t take personal survivability traits. THat’s the main difference with pvp related specs: you won’t boost your own survivability, because you’re thinking as a group where all the support will come from specific classes. Guardians being the king of defensive support, they can survive easily in all high end contents, but a true guardian will also make his team survive.
I think this explained why shouts isn’t good for pve: It’s just not the suited support for the types of encounters, the traits enhensing shouts are in a non-damaging traitline, unlike virtues ( unscathed contender, power of the virtuous) or blind spam ( vulnerability, a lot of precision, 2×10% multipliers). I see this is becoming a long post, so I’ll stop it there but I’m still up for more details/ explanations if needed.
Pve is all about support coupled with damage. People saying otherwise aren’t experienced enough.
Meditations require a full bar to work. Going in valor and honor for meditations and shouts will make them compete for the traitline, and you’ll miss some effective traits for both. Retaliory subconscious is a really bad trait as well. For WwW zerg fights, you’d be better traiting for MoC ( master of consecrations, virtues traitline) and taking a dual shout/ one consecration spec with AH instead of monk’s focus. The HpS you get with meditations, not including smite condition, is low. Too low to justify a 6 points investment. You already have melandru runes and possibly -40% condi duration food, so CoP is useless in this build. I’d say going hoelbrak runes is better for an empowering might build, as you get both reduced incoming condition duration and might duration. I’d swap 2 or 3 knight pieces for 1 berserker/1 ptv, to gain a bit more power and ferocity. Your crit chance is decent, but could be a bit higher. Same problem with Purity: one condi cleanse every 10 second isn’t a big deal. Take retributive armor instead.
This build won’t work at all in pve. I can see where you were heading, but shouts and meditations requires good traitpoint investment to work, and using both will greatly weaker them. Tl;dr: drop that med for a consecration, get rid of the meditation traits, use hoelbrak runes possibly, get more crit chance via retributive armor, and swap retaliory subconscious for MoC. This build is purely for WwW though, don’t take it into pve, except open world content.
Also, forum bug.
Looks like the game is full of inexperienced players like you trying to impose their view on records and speedruns when they don’t even understand what we are doing in those. The tanks and healers didn’t left, they are still expecting to be carried in my ping gear groups. You’re arguing about ranging and stacking when both are suboptimal tactics in most cases, and you’ll probably argue against LOS, wich is the most common thing in any mmo.
IF your speedclear group stack SQ and range FOTM bosses, I’m afraid it’s not a speedclear group.
Look, another guy stacking spider queen.
Come back when you know the actual meta strats. Liadri is a solo fight, she better have the aggro on you all the time. Go back to ranging bosses, but don’t think you’re experienced enough to speak about balance.
Oh, you cancelled a skill and you didn’t get the full effect of it, what a nonsense
Don’t make Nemessis rise again. We lost too many brave soldiers to that demon!
To the rest; Go Zerk or make your own group/guild.. quite simple!
You heff summoned mii ! I am frii to walk in thiis rrealm again !
Everryone in dis thrread iss wrrong and an exploiterr! I will soon prrresent you a brrandnew, iin-depth viideoguide which will ixplain to you why the Burrsurrker Metta will always be worrse in comparrrison to the hybrrid tanky condi clerrric biilds that I crreated to finally purrge the fiilthy Burrsurrker Meta, so we can all enjoy thiis game again!
Nemessey is back!
Vampires suck.
Guys, listen to him, he has 340 hours played, he’s obviously far more experienced than all of you.
OP: try arah when you’re done with your ac farm.
An offpoint fight between a thief and a zerker ranger would see the thief wins, especially if there’s any LOS spot available. Bait the signet of stone, keep in stealth/ los , kill. It’s not a 1v1 spec anyway, even if rangers are naturally suited for small scale play and close range defense/ long range offense.
Elementalist is now the fastest profession because fgs. Then they get nerfed, they increase the cd of rtl to 80 sec if not hitting a target, then they nerf back fgs, and forget to undo the changes to rtl. I can see it coming.
Won’t bother.
(ps: don’t use shield, nor sentinel stats)
Having a build for all contents will result in a bad build for all of them. They do not require the same thing at all.
reported you for verbal abuse
Buying a legendary is against TOS, it’s essentially assisted cheating. You bypass the content by not playing the way it’s meant to be played ( farming lodestones, making clovers, getting a precursor via excessive luck).
Necro is the new meta.
The meta is only about support, what the kitten are you saying?
Make a mini varra, and if the two are close enough, she’ll start hitting grubs and mini lupi would shadowstep to her.
( Seriously, mini lupi would be cool, maybe as a reward for the dungeoneer title?)
Oil are utility buffs, but normal food+ utility do stack.
Not only you went for the squishiest class, but for the squishiest weapon set ( S/D). That’s brave, but it’s really harder to play than x/ focus. I wouldn’t advice going soldiers ( I know too late). Just play 6/6/0/0/2 for a good vigor uptime, so you have more screws up allowed. Don’t hesitate taking something like arcane shield at first. Getting in groups with a competent guardian helps as well.
The +stats you gain periodically essentially adds up to the same base amout for a level 80, they are just spread out differently while leveling.
Your weapons doesn"t synergise quite well. sword/warhorn is usually for bunker specs, it’s a mobility set usually coupled with another melee weapon, whereas rifle is a single target burst ranged weapon. Rifle has its use in niche builds for www, but it’s overall a pretty bad weapon, so i’d advice using something else. I personally find power builds funnier than condis’, something like axe/shield gs with berserker gear, but it may be a bit squishy for a new player.
Some thoughts for you: greatsword is great in www roaming. It’s nearly mandatory. Hammer/ sword warhorn is the meta setup for www frontliner. It works in pvp as well, but longbow is a great weapon to have there, due to the condi cleanse with f1 and the large aoe taking all a capture point. Signets are pretty bad everywhere, having 1 depending on the game mode is doable but filling your bar with them won’t help.
Thieves and rangers also loose dps by stacking. I asked people why they stacked, I got 2 different kind of answers: “Stacking allows to burn him in one trap” ( like you can’t just burn it in the open) and " we’re used to it/ it makes it easier".
No, the rewards are essentialy low level exotics and rares to hepl you during your leveling. A character created before the NPE update is overall stronger than a new one, because you have access to all your traits whereas new chars need to unlock them by paying skill points or doing particular things in the open world.
Got insulted, kicked, and blocked because I kicked a condi staff guard from a " P1 zerk only" lfg. Guess I’m a griefer..
Make it so you can turn the ballistas against the foes and the damage is determined by your www ballista mastery.
Troll onguent is overall the best heal for condi specs, as their tankiness allows the full heal to tick, that’s an insane regen over time. For pets, you’ll need at least one canine. Wolf or hound are the most powerful pets in pvp, because they have cc. I use spider on switch, but that’s a personal preference. Birds have quite a few bleed stacks.
I confirm, need 2 votes only.
^ I laughed.
If he two shotted you, it’s probably a static discharge spec. When they knockback you, they’ll unload their burst, a lot of instant toobelt skills proccing the static discharge trait for a good burst with vuln applied, etc. Stunbreak the rifle 4, try to have a sword 2 up if S/D or S/P, and don’t go melee if they are on rifle; rifle 3 and 5 are melee hard hitting abilities. If you dodged the burst they are basically free kills. Condi is another matter.
ok because having a hammer equipped with the CC skills of rampage would not be insane
cuz cant strip stability and blockable and animation, k thx bye.
u wot m8
Yeah, those “on revealed” suggestions are perfect. I +1 this.
Delete all defense from all characters
Zerker amulet ONLY
No stealth.. ever!
Game is now an FPS
Uninstall
That’s the problem with shadow arts ( and PU). It’s a stealth based defense, making it totally useless in pvp, and really strong in WwW skirmishing. Problem is, thieves lack condi removal and healing over time, plus the blind spam is needed for D/D to exist. That makes SA mandatory for some specs, and incredibly strong for self sustain while allowing above average damage in all the others. All this need for stealth makes non- stealthing weaponsets weaker as well, and locks most thieves in the usual sa shadowstep/bp or inf. signet/refuge combo. Giving another reliable condi cleanse, while still maintaining their overall weakness to condi burst, would move thieves from the SA traitline. THis would allow less stealth uptime needed for recovering, and it would end up as a thief buff, and a higher playing cap, hopefully.
Well if you’re playing mage you probably just logged in the wrong game.
Problem is, SA is a www spec, and more precisely, a 1vx spec, and anet stated they’re not balancing around that. I do agree, shadow arts is becoming really annoying, especially coupled with p/d, and I fear the day where I’ll meet a good player using this setup. Now, should it be nerfed? No, probably not. It’ll stay as annoying as pu mesmer, and as useless in a team pvp setting. What should be done, again in my opinion, is a reliable condition clear trait in either da or cs traitlines, to make less experienced players not reliant on SA to survive. Keep in mind D/D specs are barely viable due to SA, and nerfing it would probably destroy that weapon set totally.
Throwing some ideas here:
-give a condition clear in Deadly arts. No idea how, when, what pace; that’s why I’m not suggesting anything but rather give ideas.
-nerf the base hps of sa, up the scaling with healing power: meh. THis was suggested earlier in the post, but it’ll just make condi specs investing in healing power the same pain, nerf D/D, and it’s still a huge nerf for the class, even if the trait is totally catered to inexperienced players.
-change the S. rejunevation trait. When your cloak and dagger connects, you get regen for 3 sec, or something like that.
-Let it be. It’s not a strong pvp spec, and doesn’t give the tools of trickery. That’s probably the safest answer.
Lol. Take a warhorn.
Omg, don’t say that, you have no idea who this guy is, never ever say warhorn.
What have you done?
Yeah, this would finally buff the warrior mobility, this is really needed.
2/10, all your other threads were better.
Happened to me in dungeons. Ta, after fyonna iirc. I dc’d, wp’d back, and it happened. Never happened to me in www but i’ve seen a friend complaining about it; I’ve no idea of what causes this.
ye wright they r so op its enbeleivalbe lik m8 their has clones and kitten that suck crazeh lik i wanna not want to not disagree with you.
Are you including bear dps with it?
LB 2 and 5 are powerful burst ability, but the auto attack in melee sucks, and playing at 2K range will lower your dps because you can’t self stack might to 25 and steal the banners from the stacks and keep them for you. Sword aa hits for less, but it’s faster, and you don’t have to trait for it. It’s one of the most powerful ranged weapons in all situations ( not including the unreliable guardian scepter, staff ele wich is melee, and nade engi because the rotation includes close range abilities), but it’s still inferior to melee dps.
Bow and rifle war simply doesn’t exist in the dps realm.
