can’t win them all
oh and i tried playing as a tower baby sitter today, chase a few people off, walked some yaks in and than a huge zerg swallowed the tower whole
havocs? no need to spend gold on upgrades!
I use s/p to clear camps and kill tower/keep lord solo….it is that good!
I even clear t3 camp with hylek/ogres solo with it.
how long does it usually take you? well before the removal of white swords
guise anet gave us a buff exclusive for wvw! that helps a lot right? right…? :l
T5 NA
pretty hard to counter the enemies ninjas when you have a small force that gets overwhelmed by too many attacks on multiple structures. Without the white swords, i’m unable to track the enemy for a preemptive strike. Well this is the case for the server with the lowest population. T2 and up for NA shouldn’t have a problem, they have the population to sacrifice into tower babysitting.
It is true that fights are harder to find now. You’ll just stare at the map and notice stuff being flipped before you even get there to take a look if there is something suspicious happening.
It should be routine for certain groups to run into camps, no? Sentries are another indication of player movement.
i skip sentries to avoid detection
Good. Anet let us save golds. not to upgrad anythings.Because most of upgrading are in vain, except waypoint keeps.
By us, you mean you. Some of us are organized and capable, to the point that it is no more or less of a concern then it was before.
maybe your server has the population to defend off blobs?
If I am running on a map its for a real reason not to troll players or look for fights. If thats what you want, join a zerg, if you want small fights/duels go pvp.
Mate… open your eyes. Your server placement means nothing. Your PPT score means nothing. All that matters, in this game, is that you have fun. If you have fun by fighting people or dueling, I see no problem in that because WvW is designed as a PvP mode, where SPvP is designed as a point cap mode. The best fights you can get are on WvW, not SPvP, where everyone runs a bunker spec.
Server placement and PPT mean nothing? Maybe your the one who needs to open their eyes. Servers live and die by ppt and tier placement. I prefer fights to, I just dont go looking for duels, cuz I dont go into wvw setup for it, its not fun for me, and does nothing to help my server. Neglect for ppt means your server will lose matchups, drop tiers, lose guilds/players and die, and can guarantee the further down you go the less fights you get, having played through every tier.
lower tiers have more solo roamers.
RIP real EBJP camping.
i got the message “This video is not available in your country” lol what?!
maybe there should be a better wvw tutorial? new players would probably get curious, venture through one of the LA portals and get trampled by a zerg, thus making them scared and never coming back.
As a member of a server that recently hit T4, I noticed this roaming phenomenon. Tier5 and below, competent roamers will fight 1v1. (Roamers that are bad at fighting will avoid them like described in this thread or only engage with hard disengages available)
In Tier4 and Tier3 roamers seem to hit a “CALL PARTY” if fighting 1v1 and if a 5v5 fight starts to look troublesome they hit the “CALL ZERG” button. Since we’ve hit t4 if a roamer actually fights I generally know there’s a 10+ group around. It troubles me since it seems people won’t leave towers/keeps unless they have at least an entire party to hold their hands.
When we were T5 and below, roamers can /bow people and have a fight that people won’t interrupt with good results. Even commanders would generally leave these alone (except for the occasional horrible dueler the zerg poops only /bow’ing roamers for diplomatic immunity scouting – I zerg them in the face)
I have yet to actually get a single non-appointment /bow duel in. Solo roaming is very alive under tier4.
quoted for truth
lol good stuff
15 charr
how do people have 100k or 200k+ badges?! Do you guys farm the hell out of eotm? if i had that much badges, I would be throwing build sites at my enemies with a dolyak tonic on.
one thing for sure, there is a lot less people on wvw than the last time you’ve played.
You can run with the zerg and be ignorant of how it is moving. The zerg actually may depend on that. We need meat shields, people who over commit because they don’t know where the commander is going. They protect the rest of us as they die.
seems like a bad idea to insult servermates and potential servermates
prolly oughta keep your mouth shut here and just make fun of them on those voice comms of yoursNo insult intended. It’s just good information. In my experience, if you cannot hear a commander who has explicitly asked you to get in voice communications, you may get used as a meat shield. It’s a very effective strategy for a commander being followed by a lot of pugs. Run them toward the enemy, then back up as the enemy blows their cooldowns and the pugs die, then advance.
T1 confirmed. blob up or die.
+1
With season 3’s achievements, there was no need for the people who never goes to wvw to enter it. They most likely just went to Eotm and did the easy 5 events and called it helping out. Also it was kinda annoying to keep on telling people on map chat where the battle historian was. Maybe if anet included the previous season’s achievements than some new wvw players would be sucked in to the game mode and stayed around.
roaming in T1 sounds like a no-no. Maybe ill hold on to my vacation gold I’ve been saving.
I think they should introduce multiple titles within the achievement. Something like novice yakslapper for taking out 1000 yaks or veteran yakslapper for killing 3000 yaks. Why they didn’t do something like this makes me wonder how hard it could be and what anet would do for problems in the game that will require much more attention.
until no one is left in wvw. But if there is no one else, how do we know if anet has changed the achievements?
oh one more thing,
What: teefs with toilet paper and rotten eggs
Why: I start laughing my butt off
how does one counter such a powerful tactic?
What: thief sword stab, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stab_
Why: its too op
I watched as a thief constantly spammed it on me and i could do was run to corner of my room and cry because I couldn’t bare the fact that i was so scared I couldn’t just press v to get away.
if the OP is having trouble with a simple thief, than hes going to QQ about my 1 shot KO, yolo warrior build. using full zerk, scholar runes, axe/shield and rifle. To top it off signet of might to killshot through them pesky reflects
i’d rather fight other people with the time you’re going to use to cap keeps
(edited by pepper.6179)
What if.. Just WHAT IF..
Stay with me.
What if, Guardian used Line Of Warding at JUST the right spot and a bunch of people bumped in to it and fell off a cliff.
Would that be OP too? ’cause it could be done if it were placed just oh so perfectly.
now that’s a video i will watch and laugh my butt off
(edited by pepper.6179)
It would be good to test that theory. I believe playing against strong servers makes you a better player. That would mean the longer TC is in T1, they better they get.
Players are not interchangable NPCs. They learn and change over time.
I don’t agree it is just a matter of numbers. For one thing, one thing some guilds do for fun before reset is go to EotM and kill hundreds of players.
wait, wut?
I personally think solo roaming will be dead with ppk implemented. I can picture people bringing 10 man roaming groups and having less amount of friendly duels because the other guy wants to finish you for points.
People complaining about being stocked with badges:
buy golems.
sell them.
???
Profit (literally).Or craft your omegas with it.
Or stock your guild-bank with free siege.Seriously, if you sit on a stockpile of badges, you’re doing something wrong.
30k badges you say?
that’s ~300g in alphas on the TP.
All it requires is a click-fest at the siege-merchant, that you can complete in 5min if you align the confirmation-prompt with the alphas in the vendor-window.
shhhhh! now everyone will know!
i could use the extra badges
WvW markets itself on YouTube. ANet doesn’t need to pay for it.
Not sure since my interest is prejudiced, but aren’t most of the GW2 videos on YouTube about WvW?
wonder if someone was a video of them playing a high concentration about ppt, maybe it will be a little interesting?
Keeping your [Keep]
You may win fights but I win [PPT]
i lol’d at the ppt one
only a wvw player realizes that their favorite game mode is slowly dying a painful death…
i believe that person is working for anet
wait…are we doing anet’s job?
What is so hard to make at least one map like Lion’s Arch a non-mega server map? mega servers has destroyed my community, my guild, and wvw too. I miss saying “good morning DR!” but now I can’t even go and see familiar faces outside wvw. I still go to wvw and even that has its issues that anet hasn’t even tried to fix.
Edit: is it so freaken hard to add a district system?!
(edited by pepper.6179)
Also you can’t forget the disastrous season 2 rewards, so many people were fed up with how poorly arenanet handled it. Took them a couple of weeks to fix that problem. Too many people already rage quoted and didn’t even bother to log back in even with the extra tickets
(edited by pepper.6179)
well after experiencing the past two seasons, i’ve noticed how much players have just entirely quit the game. After season 2 a couple of guild just died off with repetitive match ups and the same old 4 wvw maps. Well yeah sure the people who only come for the season reward will continue their thing, but every server is losing their dedicated wvw players. Losing large amount of dedicated wvw will send a server spiraling down. SoR lost a majority of their wvw guilds, what if that were to happen to more servers?
“People will swarm back with the next Season.”
You mean the people who hardly play WvW and only hop on during the seasons to get achievements and after they get them they leave and don’t come back till next season?
Since i started playing gw2, WvW was my favorite thing to do. Since then some of my friends have stopped playing due to the neglect on WvW. Recently I’ve noticed the large amount of players quiting after season 2 from not only my home server but every single one of them . If this continues, will there be anyone left?
They truly are a force to be reckoned with, I know this because I’ve fought them and now fighting along side with them! If you want to be good at wvw, join them!
