not just minions – every necromancer skill (or just about) is bugged to crap
I just can’t bring myself to weigh in on a discussion about necromancer balance until all of our skills actually work the way they were supposed to in the first place (bug fixes)
We don’t need anymore of these useless topics, there’s enough of them. Could have just qq’ed more in one of them.
There are enough of them when we get a response about when they plan to implement fixes for them.
facepalmed at the part about having basically maxed out gear in greens and yellows… LOL
the other elementalist probably has all exotic gear and exotic upgrades in all his gear.
exotic = dark orange
normal(white) < magic (blue) < green (masterwork) < rare (yellow) < exotic (dark orange) = mystic(?) = legendary (purple)
I had 2 identical daggers. Slotted one with Superior sigil of force. Then I equipped the one without any sigil in it and looked at my skill damage and my damage numbers on mouse-over “attack”.
Then I equipped the one with the superior sigil of force and looked at the damage numbers of my skills and the damage numbers of mouse-over on “attack”. Absolutely no change.
Used each dagger separately for a bit in combat, didn’t notice any change in damage output either.
nah, they did bro. They just didn’t play-test necromancers very well – or they changed some things just before release that broke all the necromancer stuff…
most viable only because it has the least amount of broken skills/traits :P lol

nah bro, it would depend on the build you were going for.
For ex: if you were going for an all-out condition dmg build you would still really want the malice/expertise.
If, however, you are going for just a burst dps or aoe dps build then you would go for the power/precision tree.
Ok Adam Jenson, but here is my idea for Dark Path:
Upon activation you become spectral and dash forward 15 meters in a straight line, chilling for 4 seconds, and applying 1 stack of bleed to each enemy passed through/near.

So I recently was temp banned from the forums, but I did not receive any warnings for anything and no message/explanation was sent to my inbox explaining why I was banned … ?

Quick way to fix the necro:
- Make Spite tree give Power and Precision.
- Make Curses tree give Condition Damage and Condition Duration.
I love your idea, you should use formatting options to make it clear like this.

I have been running a mark/well build in pve and it is great for pve.
For pvp, however, it needs some tweaking to be able to survive.
Change blood well to feast conditions and use spectral armor as well or spectral walk.

A good necro tank is just as viable as a good guardian/engi tank. I play m necro tanky, and I always get told by enemies at the end of games that I’m hard as crap to kill. Necros have freedom, just less of it due to alot of the freedom being jacked because of bugged traits.
Honestly, ya and this is one of the only truly redeeming qualities about the Necromancer in its current broken state.

It’s like 3 pages of minor / major bugs which is the problem. Either way Jon Peters is afraid of how strong the necro will be when people stop qq’ing about the classso I guess he needs to buff his warriors some more.

Well so far it has appeared to me whenever I used life transfer that the damage is per tick.
So now we are in disagreement and I neither of us can prove our thinking 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt; thus confirmation please.
Ya I agree underwater versions of Necromancer skills are complete garbage, especially the death shroud ones. IMO the underwater DS needs to be almost completely reworked.
look, if you didn’t mean what you said in that post, then sorry about how I responded. I responded to the (apparently) very unfortunate choice of wording you used in your post which lead me to believe that you do not grasp the situation with Necromancer class in its current state…
what is your power and attack at in that screenshot?
it does look really really low for how many conditions are on that mob and for it also being a crit… maybe it’s bugged also?
Ya all the original animations and effects for the necromancer skills shown in those videos are way better than what exists now.

yesterday we were farming CoF and I asked one of my elementalist guildies who was there (he is lvl 80) “what is you hp at in here anyway?” and I kitten you not, he said 9k… I thought he was trolling for sure at first lol, but he was serious.
Now I don’t know anything about elementlist builds or how much hp is common at (de-leveled) 75, but if he is any indication then you can’t complain as another clothy that you “only get” 20k hp :P

From the first day these official forums opened the Necromancer section has been filled with complaints and suggestions on how to improve the class. There are several TL;DR threads explaining over and over again the small and big things that generally all necromancers feel is wrong with the class. Sadly , it seems every other class who is not complaining about anything needs to be worked on before they work with necro’s.
Anet Doesnt ‘owe’ me or anyone playing this game a word on what they intend to do. Or if they intend to do anything about necromancers.
But it sure would be nice if they at least gave us a hint.

you guys are kitten idiots.
we do not “feel” that things are wrong with our class. things ARE wrong with our class. click that little stickied link at the top of the necromancer forums for a kitten list of them if you need proof.
we complain because patch after patch other classes get their skills and mechanics fixed and necromancer does not. there was even 1 patch where EVERY SINGLE CLASS EXCEPT NECROMANCER got fixes to their class.
some skills are so broken and crucial to certain builds right now that we can’t even properly test those builds, yet we still get nerfs to our skills before they are even fixed and can be accurately assessed.
As for what Anet “owes us” as far as telling us what they plan to do – Not a single kitten do I give. I don’t care about what they “plan” to do or what they say they are “going to do eventually”. I care about what gets fixed. And so far the track record for fixes to necromancer is non-existent.

so a question about stacks of bleeding:
say you get a mob up to 8 stacks of bleeding
does the timer that is around the icon for those stacks apply to all of the stacks, or just the last one you put on?
I’ve been noticing when I try to stack bleeds on a mob that stacks keep disappearing before the timer runs out… or is it just another bugged necro mechanic? = =
I think each tick is a separate damage amount. Can we get a red to confirm/deny?
well, if you could specify exactly what the build is that “everyone else” is using then maybe I can point out the differences for ya ^^
actually combination of midnight fire + abyss is as black as you can get for dyes

the general consensus seems to be that minions are not affected by any stat’s at all.
the exception(s) to this, of course, would be any sigil or rune that directly affects minions in some way as well as the 2 necro major traits which affect minions.

I built a power/crit necro. It is not really working right now because of all the bugged skills/traits, but I think it will be good if all of those things ever get fixed.

Some highlights:
64% crit chance with food buff
+110% crit dmg with food buff
3207 attack
I am currently using scepter/dagger trying to do the condition dmg angle with this, but like I said – bugs.
So I think a staff/aoe adaptation to my current build will work best for the time being.
Honestly, right now, with all the borked crap of necromancers – the only good viable dps build for pve dungeons is staff/wells
So I guess the only stat’s you will want as a pet necro are: tough/vit

Nekrothaft, I want to +1 your OP, but there isn’t the option to
Death shroud smoke effects do not always appear when entering death shroud.
Also, death shroud smoke effects disappear sometimes after some time of being in death shroud.
First, this is intended for pve mainly, pvp will never be balanced and people will never stop crying, I may have my own opinions, but I don’t want devs to enforce them onto others.
Secondly, don’t worry if you just stumbled onto the forums, Necromancer is a darn good and fun class, sure we have some bugs, but that doesn’t make the whole class bad or poor, and if you want to keep your sanity and opinion unpolluted, you should probably leave this forum, because unlike other class forums, people have joined the hate bandwagon and it’s on a highway to hell.
I’d like to hear the good parts of the class!
#1: Summoning a black scythe while using staff is just so darn cool!
#2: I can viably swap between a heavy condition aoe staff and a hard hitting, fast double daggers for two very different playstyles.
#3: Insane survival rating with Death Shroud.
We don’t need a feel-good “let’s all sing koombaya” thread. We need the kitten bugs fixed.
