I don’t mind if it’s not an expansion pack, but ANet has promised something big. Something HUGE. How do you not get hyped about an announcement like that?
I’m obviously not expecting a Guild Wars 3 or anything, but if what they release doesn’t amount to the hype ANet is intentionally fueling, we all have a right to be upset, whether you’re hyped or not hyped.
Only kidding. But almost had a heart attack.
And what is with ANet teasing us with this Dervish-looking outfit?? What’s the big idea??
Whatever it is, if it requires money I’m already throwing money at my monitor….
ANet, hurry up and announce it so I can give you money.
This. Seriously.

Hoping HoT is an actual expansion with a new continent (Cantha? Elona?) with new features. Would bring a ton more players back to the game, just like WoW did with WoD. Great for revenue.
Hoping that HoT isn’t a living story/LS season and all this hype was for nothing.
1. Dervish. I beg you!
2. Ritualist
3. UW/FoW/Something like this.
4. GvG & Guild Halls,
5. More Weapon Skills (options for each weapon skill slot).
6. More weapon variety for all classes.
7. New weapons. So many great trident/spear skins, really hard to show them off.
8. A challenging 2-3 party dungeon/raid. Emphasis on challenging that actually requires strategy and not zerker.
9. New PvP modes. Would LOVE to see the recreation of GW1 RA Maps/Deathmatch.

+1
Very well written. Needs to be stickied/brought to the devs’ attention.
Essentially, they destroyed the type of game I was looking for before GW2 was released.

Nope, the target appears over players heads. Here it is again today:
If we could get a developer to post on this to let us know that it’s being worked on, that’d be great. This has been happening since the latest PvP update.
Not sure if this is happening anywhere else, but people are excessively “target spamming” in the PvP Lobby. It shows up even if you’re not in their group, and you can’t block the messages from showing.
THE ALMIGHTY PARAGON!
jk.
I would like to see Spears on land, though. Some amazing looking Spear skins in-game already.
facepalm
ANet stated they have no intentions to release a new race anytime soon, unfortunately q: I’ll see if I can find that link.
Generally, I’ll run Cof P1/2 and HOTW P1 daily. That’ll get me 5-7g in under an hour (including selling Ectos from salvaging rare dungeon armor)
What you said…
1) Put bank access there. To chests are there from the original Guild Wars. They could be used.
2) laurel merchant.
3)’crafting stations.
…and ANet should allow you to see other players as well. It would be a great gathering place for GW1 Vets to hang and chill while crafting their stuff.
Mounts are useful only for 1 thing: traveling quickly.
We have way points, so we don’t needs mounts. Travel is cheap, and though they do add up, making a gold isn’t very hard at all. (The equivalent of 40-50 or so waypoints).
Case closed!
I don’t think we should have to pay transmutation charges for armor bought through the gem store. We’ve already used cash (at least in my case) to buy the armor, why should there be another cost to transmute it?
I’m not complaining about the transmutation charges themselves – I get a decent amount regularly from PvP. But I feel that if we’ve bought the armor already through the gem store, we shouldn’t have to use transmutation charges to transmute the armor, and we should be able to transmute the armor freely between characters who can use that armor. Just my opinion q: any thoughts?
Would LOVE to have this loading screen back!
Not a huge fan of the boss schedule, but I do like the larger populations. I actually see people running around some of the PvE zones that have Megaserver activated, and players running around and doing events. It actually feels like a massively multiplayer game.
What I don’t understand is before patch I frequently saw “Is Guild Wars 2 dead?”, “Where is everyone??”-type discussions both in-game and on forums. Now that they’ve merged servers through map instances, everyone is complaining that ANet has “killed the game.”
Maybe a better system for this would be the District-styled system from Guild Wars 1. Everything works as it does now except you can choose the district you want to join. Or, have Megaserver only activated in the starter zones (1-15) and cities.
I personally have had no problems with the Megaserver so far, and it seems to be more beneficial than detrimental from my own experiences.

I recently created a new Elementalist for PvP, and because of my low level, I don’t have shoulders or gloves (and don’t have access to them). I have a couple of questions:
1. Will I miss out on extra stats/buffs from the PvP runes like before? Or does it apply all 6 regardless if I have each armor slotted?
I also noticed when unequipping gear I don’t lose toughness, but I do lose numbers in the armor stat (which is a combination of toughness and armor defense).
2. Because I’m missing my shoulders and gloves, will I be less effective in PvP? Or is toughness only factored in for PvP?
If both of these are the case, then newly made characters in PvP are at a loss.
Not only can you support the game through gems, but you can also receive charges from the new PvP tracks for free, only cost is your time, and are fairly easy to complete the small tiers (2-3 games per mini tier). Even if you stink at PvP, they’re not hard to get.
I’m pretty much fine with everything else you can buy in the gem store. Gaining exclusive cosmetic items is fine, boosters, etc. But paying to simply shift between gear you already own feels…wrong to me.
But you’re not paying to switch your gear. It’s just like before patch – gear works exactly the same. You can switch between them, for free, just like before the patch. The only thing that has changed here is how the transmutation system functions – in which now you can transmute skins you’ve previously owned across your whole account.
Nope, I’ll probably be playing more.
GW1 District System pls
You don’t get a charge per rank, you get an unknown amount for each PvP rank you have (it’s unknown, they didn’t specify in the live stream, but it’s definitely more than 1.)
Elona? Please?
Not sure if this was posted yet, but to my knowledge there are 2 PvP exclusive skins, the Commando and Masquerade armor skins:
Commando: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Commando_armor
Masquerade: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Masquerade_armor
When the wardrobe is released, will these skins be available to us if we craft them in PvP, or will they just disappear? I’d like to know before I start putting my PvP crafting mats towards these skins.
I would go ahead and use them now. To my knowledge, the rewards won’t change after the patch from the current chests, so it wouldn’t make much of a difference. Only the new rank-up chests and reward track chests qualify for the new rewards.
I’m curious, why would people wait to open them?
I simply feel that ANet’s focus on their Gem Store is far too strong, although this probably stems from the fact that NCSoft takes all of the Gem Store profits and distributes them as they see fit.
It’d be nice if money spent on Guild Wars 2 actually went to Guild Wars 2 intead of financing Wildstar.
You do understand that the other NCSoft games were partially funding Guild Wars 2 while it was under development, just as Guild Wars 2 and the other NCSoft games are now each partially funding WildStar?
It’s now Guild Wars 2’s turn to contribute to NCSoft game developments. It’s a cycle.
I doubt it. Generally people don’t buy 2 of the same skin sets.
I was curious to know if armor skins would be considered skins in the wardrobe. Is this true? O.o
Either way, I’m holding off until after the patch to buy a skin.
I think overall, this feature patch is moving the game towards the right direction.
We already have a good amount of players, but hopefully this will draw many others to hop into GW2 (especially with the game on sale for $25!). It’s exciting, imo.
Megaservers will work fine: people have been telling Anet since beta that splitting the PvE population up would result in 95+% of maps being totally deserted. They finally listened – better late than never.
The trait hunting is just dumb. It was a pain in the neck in GW1, so much so that they abolished it for Factions. Why they’ve seen fit to bring it back escapes me I’m afraid.
You can also buy these traits with gold if you choose to. Honestly, I like this, as it gives me a reason to actually go out into the world and kills these bosses. Another goal to meet, and possibly more achievements.

I’m currently not in an “official” WvW guild. It’s a casual PvE/WvW guild, but they have weekly events/guild rush/bounties. If you’re interested I can request for an invite for you.
If you’re looking for a WvW-focued guild, there are plenty on SoS – just ask for one in Map chat and you should get a PM in no time.
So far, haven’t found an MMO out there that I enjoy more than GW2. Aion, WoW, Wildstar (played the beta a couple of weeks ago), ESO (also played the beta), Tera, Rift – I tried taking a break from GW2 and tried all of these, and none of them has caught my interest. Keep going back to GW2.
I’m on SoS right now, and its a pretty decent server. Good amount of WvW guilds – just got some transfer guilds as well.
So far, we’re destroying the current matchup against DB and Magumma by about 40,000 points (SoS-160,626 / Mag-120,121 / DB-102,461).
I’m glad they gave us both options – to pay with gold or to defeat bosses to get the traits (Ah, GW1 Tomes!).
Forcing some traits to be unlocked only through completing PvE content isn’t a good idea at all, considering some players are PvP-only, and probably wouldn’t like the idea of getting on PvE, leveling to 80, and killing a boss just to grab a new trait.
I’d love to get that Grenth Hood again, please! Wasn’t able to grab it when it was released. I’d definitely spend gems again for some of the previous armor skins.
Well T3 Cultural Armor in PvP is around 60g and requires some glory.
With the April 15th patch, all gear earned in PvP and PvE will be usable and transferable between the two game modes. Depending on your PvP rank, you will gain transmutation charges, and that should be plenty enough for you to transmute your PvP skins to your current PvE gear (which, again, will be the skins you share between PvE and PvP).
So to answer your question, yes, but you’ll need to transmute them with the charges they will give you from your PvP ranks and the new reward chests from the PvP reward tracks.

It’s a small fee, why would it be that important. o.o
I run Final Rest on my Necro.
I’d love Scythe for Necro. If we get a scythe though, I’d want a Dervish.
Race? Eh. Not really.
Class? Dervish + Scythe please.
This system basically equates to the current transmutation system, so I see no huge change to spending money other than all of your skins are now account wide – no need to buy another skin.
I posted about this here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Question-about-Dyes/first#post3809552
In the video it states all currently unlocked dyes will be shared among all of your characters.
Thanks guys, hope this is how it works out (since it wasn’t clearly detailed in the article, unfortunately.)
Just reading through the dyes article now.
I have a quick question:
“When you unlock a dye after the feature pack is released, all characters on your account will have unlimited access to that color.”
Does this mean current dye that is unlocked on characters, such as a Celestial Dye that I only have on my Guardian, will not be account bound after this update? Or do current dyes that individual characters own cross over to account-bound dyes? If not, I’m going to be a bit upset.
Awful idea, I doubt many (if any) GW1 vets like the RNG aspect of this.
Would have preferred either HoM (if you got in GW1=you get in GW2) or even buyable with gems.
Are you looking for dungeon armor skin? Or stats? Because if you are looking only for skin this is the way.
1: Go on warrior, get your desired skin item (dungeon pants).
2: Buy white gear from npc or trading post.
3: Transfer SKIN to the white item, keep stats of white item.
4: Put them on bank and take out with necro
5: Now you are able to transfer skin to any pant item you want.If you are looking for stats… Tough luck. Maybe support helps? :l
I bought the dungeon pants for the skin and stats (primarily the skin), but because that didn’t work, I transmuted the SKIN alone to another item with the stats of another item, just as you say, so presumably it WOULD work. But it didn’t.
It needs to be WHITE item stats. Because those are only thinks a part blue that are not soulbound at any case.
If its green, yellow or orange STATS it wont work.
Alright well, thank you for that info. Seems to me to be very odd on GW2’s part; like, what would be the purpose for that?
My advice, just run HOTW a couple times more for the pants again. Tokens are account bound so you can just buy it on necro then. The above solution works but you need 2 transmutation crystals, which is kinda a waste of gold imo.
That’s what I plan on doing I guess, it just sets me back about 5 days (again, I don’t have a ton of time to play, and usually can only get in hotw p1).
My main problem is that the transmutation stone DIDN’T work. I paid money for it and received the same pants back, which was (and still is) unusable to my Necro.
Was it a white stats item?
Stats were exotic, from the trading post. But it should still work, shouldn’kitten

One thing I didn’t like about GW1 quests is that I would end up having a very long list of uncompleted quests, some halfway in, some just started.
I do miss the quest system, and wouldn’t mind seeing some sort of quest system, or higher quality/better personal storyline campaign.
The one downside to DE’s is that they’re not very dynamic – they happen again. And again. And again. How long does it take for the Centaurs to realize that the small village has been protected and rebuilt hundreds of times, and they cannot ever win?
A bit frustrated. Part of it was my fault, part of it is a bug (I think?), and part of it is me trying to figure out why this makes sense on GW2’s part.
I wanted to get Rabid stat-pants for my Necromancer, and liked the look of the HotW pants. So, mistakenly, I bought the HotW light pants (with rabid stats) on my Warrior, without realizing that it’s Soulbound on acquire, not on use. So my Necro can’t use the pants.
Was bummed out, but then noticed I had an extra 80 transmutation stone I bought with gems a while ago. The only Level 80 exotic rabid pants on the TP is at ~5g, so I went ahead and bought that. The stats also said “Soulbound on use”, so I assumed this would work. And it should.
Because my Necromancer can’t transmute the HotW pants (its Soulbound to the warrior), I have to use the Transmutation Stone on my warrior. I used the HotW Pants skin, and the stats from the TP pants (which said “Soulbound on Use” NOT “Soulbound on Acquire”). I double checked to make sure the stats were correct, and everything was how I needed it to be, and clicked Transmute.
It transmuted the pants, but the stats says the item is “Soulbound” (and not Soulbound on Use from the TP pants) and I still cannot use it on my Necromancer. Basically, I transmuted pants into the HotW skin, and received the HotW pants.
TL;DR:
All in all, I chunked 300 HotW tokens, ~5g, and a Transmutation Stone bought with gems which (I’m presuming) bugged, in return for a pair of light pants that is still Soulbound to my Warrior and unusable by my Necromancer (HotW pants -> Transmute -> Same Pants).
I do understand that I should’ve checked the dungeon armor that says “Soulbound”, but I would expect it to work with a Transmutation Stones bought with $. I also don’t have a ton of time to play GW2, so I normally only do p1 of HotW. Getting another pair of pants would take about 5 days or so.
Why are Dungeon armors soulbound on acquire, and not on use?
Why did the HotW pants, when transmuted with the stats of “Soulbound on Use”, go back to just Soulbound?
(edited by piano man.1672)
It is built into the base structure of the game. They would need to rewrite the entire instance and grouping code from scratch to fix this issue. Since this would cost time and money and they can’t sell it in the gem store it is unlikely to ever happen.
I don’t think it would take that much work. Seems like something as easy as the party starter/first to enter binds the whole party to him type of thing could be fixed pretty easily.
So today I just ran a dungeon with pugs and at the end, the leader of the group (or the person that went in, whoever) left the dungeon, and the rest of the group wasn’t able to get their reward from the chest.
I suggest that this be fixed – I don’t see why this is even in the game. Who cares if the leader of the group leaves? The whole group shouldn’t be kicked out of the dungeon (and subsequently, not receive their reward for finishing the dungeon.) Very frustrating.
Asura Guard FTW
