Without jumping into the whole drop rate argument, which is long and boring. The keys ARE too expensive for what you normally get as a reward. Hence I bought 15 keys with thegems I hadf left and didnt get squat…no big deal
Ah…cool, I guess. Wasted trip to Fort Trinity but hey, travel broadens the horizons right?
So I got a pact victory token for killing Zhaitan and it tells me to go to an NPC in Fort Trinity to claim a weapon. Great, good news and thankyou. But where is the NPC? I’ve combed every square inch of the fort and he’s not there….
Seeing people get so upset over something so trivial is a sad indictment of where we are heading as a species you mean…
Unless you are rich beyond belief and your income is entirely disposable, then spending real-life hard-earned money to gamble on receiving an entirely cosmetic upgrade to a fictional character in a virtual world is possibly the stupidest thing I can imagine. But at least while you are pursuing this as an interest you aren’t breeding…long may it continue.
Charlie Bucket found a key, opened a chest and got a super rare drop as a reward. Everyone cheered.
Entitled, whining crybaby Veruca Salt poured hundreds of dollars into the store and didn’t. Everyone cheered.
Broken DE’s everywhere. I don’t need new content…I just want to (for example) spend some karma I spent ages getting at the Arah karma vendor. Can I? No. Why? Cos its permanently broken.
Secondly, if you think people are still playing this game as much as a month ago….try getting a group together to do Lyssa or Dwayna that consists of more than 3 people.
Screw new content…fix the content there is first…
Of course theres going to be new content, what do you think all the blank areas of the map are? For a fact theres going to be a Tengu area to the North West of Lions Arch because theres already a gate there that the guards wont let you through.
Whether or not its working, interesting content is more of an issue surely.
Im suffering badly from diminshing returns. I’m playing the game and the enjoyment I get from it is diminishing. Orr is stupidly boring and broken, with DE’s stuck in limbo, stupidly frustrating respawn rates and massive zergs on the events that arent broken and yet its the only place that is a halfway decent place to get any viable amount of gold.
The personal story “climax” was frustrating, unenjoyable and unrewarding. The lure of “exotics” is purely a matter of aesthetics and to be honest there isnt one set of skins I prefer on the thief over the medium gem store set (unsurprisingly). Crafting is so boring it practically makes me narcoleptic, and the rings and amulet I’ve made through Jewelling at 400 would have been cheaper to buy on the TP, I really can’t be bothered to continue with LW having looked up the exotic skins you can make, which are super-mega-fugly.
The social side of the game is severely lacking also, guild chat is mostly lvl 80’s complaining about being bored or yet-to-be lvl 80’s who aren’t bored yet but soon will be. People aren’t running dungeons with anywhere near as much frequency as they were. Combat is dull, dodge, hit, dodge, hit, blind, hit, dodge, blind, hit, wtf respawns?? etc etc. I’ve completed all of the PVE areas in terms of map completion and whilst that provided some motivation short term its now done and I have to do the same in the PVP areas…and I’m just not interested enough.
I have all the variants of black dye, yay, now my toon can be dressed in black and hang around smoking in Lions Arch with all the other cool kids…yawn. I really cant be bothered to grind dungeons for what is essentially a “looks” upgrade, so what am I aiming for? Theres just no motivation. I have to grind 42k karma for every piece of armor I don’t like the look of and won’t make me any tougher or powerful? Not happening…I got better things to do.
I hate to say it (as its how all other MMO’s are constructed and I respect the desire to try something new), but this game seriously needs raids, or at least some other viable, rewarding end-game pursuit. Something that encourages communication and offers reward. Its all stick and no carrot. And repair costs in pvp? Really? I’ll break all my armor, go be bored in Orr for two hours and then repeat. Yawn.
People say “don’t spend all your time in Orr, go explore the world” but beyond looking admittedly fantastic, the rest of the world is just as pointless…more so when you are all geared up and theres no challenge.
So yeah, before anyone clever suggests it, I’ll go do something else for a while and keep an eye on the patches I guess…
And yes, I got my moneys worth. For a single player game, However, I preferred Skyrim.
So, I did actually complete the final quest and I got 3 lvl 80 greens which I promptly sold for a grand total of about 4 silver. That plus the rare (unusable) 80 item I got for killing Zaitan and the rewards for the rest of the dungeon netted me about 6 silver.
Now, I got lucky with my group who were all good players and we had NO deaths in the main dungeon. Up until the stupid, ill thought add and badly broken zergfest which is the last section…on the airship, you know, the stupid one with the stupid camera angles. At which point we all died many, many times in circles that cover the entire platform you are standing on and are unavoidable, racking up repair bills of over 20 silver. This is the most annoying, boring and pointless climax to any story in any video game I have ever played.
Disappointed.
I think maybe the objectives aren’t clear enough sometimes and you end up thinking you have to kill everything to move on. I died countless times on that “revive Deputy Mira” bit on Claw Island thinking I had to elimiate the risen first, but I have a suspicion they are in fact endless. In the end I ran straight to her, popped Shadow Refuge, rezzed her…objective complete. Same with the Pale Tree vision one (whatever its called) I died loads of times before I realised I could just avoid 90% of the mobs by outrunning them and use the NPCs as risen fodder. But that Eye of Zhaitan at the end of that was a real pain and thats a fact. I think I mostly poisoned / bled it to death while hiding behind pillars.
So, erm, is this fixed yet for people who havent completed it yet? Because obviously if it isn’t I’ll not bother completing it until it is. I was able to ascertain that a retroactive fix for people who have already done it will be around 28/10 update but what about those who havent? Because if I get more crappy unusable loot for this (after all the rubbish I got for completing the Orr zones) I think I’m gonna rage quit and go write some emo poetry about how unfair life is….with a black pen on some black paper.
The poster before who basically said “Hey, Trahearne gets the sword, he can fight the dragon on his own next time” pretty much nailed this issue…
I think a couple of rares usable by your class should be the bare minimum. Maybe an exotic ring / amulet or similar, something that makes you feel like the whole experience was worth it, because lets face it…killing Zhaitan doesn’t turn Orr into fairyland.
Personally I like women’s beach volleyball, anything that makes an unexpected high pitched noise and vodka mixed with Irn-Bru….but as there aren’t any of these things in this game I’m probably going to stop playing it.
Just thought everyone should know….as I’m massively egocentric and everyone else is wrong. About everything.
If only there were a race of cat faced humanoidsin real life, then balance could be restored.
Oh and dragons….
So todays patch finished downloading and today I literally can’t play the game at all the lag is so huge. All other games I own are working fine and the fairies haven’t tweaked my settings during the night….so what gives?
So, the incessantly bugged DE’s I can just about get over. All the other random irritations are “teething troubles”and will no doubt be fixed. But a bugged main story quest that will not complete because of the inaction of an NPC is just about unforgiveable. Especially when its a long and fairly hard quest with multiple stages which presumably I have to now do again from the beginning.
Quest in question is “forging the pact” at level 62. Can someone please sort it out? Not a happy punter…
“Forging the pact”. Long and some may say, hard story quest, will not complete. Get to final milestone in quest and “nothing”. NPC just sits there with a stupid grin on his leafy irritating face while I go insane with apathy…
Bugged DE’s everywhere I can cope with, just about, but seriously….the story quests are bugged too?
