But there is something they need to say. They need to say “Yes we reduced the drop rates of T6 Mats and no, it is not a bug and we are not going to change it”

Or any answer at all….

Because based on that, people can decide if they want to continue to play a game whose only purpose is to part them their money to achieve aims that have been there since the game launched and were never this unattainable.

I bought X, I did not buy Y. Ig the game is now Y…tell me it’s Y and I will decide if I like it. If not, I honestly dont care…I’ll go do something else.

But my initial purchase and all the gem purchases I have made actually do “entitle” me to an answer. This is a product.

Same old boring observations, hee are the facts….again:

1) No one is asking for MORE T6 mats to drop…they are asking them to be put back to their previous rate. The one no-one complained about.

2) Just because YOU don’t want a legendary to enjoy the game….does not mean EVERYONE thinks like you.

3) A legendary, although always an effort to get is in most peoples eyes (myself included) is now just not worth bothering with…this was not the case 3 months ago. Indeed it is vastly unfair to change the drop rates of the items required when people have already achieved there goal when rates were reasonable.

4) Playing the auction house is an option that a LOT of people do not want to have to endure. This is an action based MMO…not a futures trading simulator. If I wanted to have spreadsheets and analyse the markets in order to make a killing and was capable fo being remotely succesful at this I would not be doing it here. I would be doing it with real money in real markets. This game is not a job.

5) Seriously, who cares about your observations? The sheer number of complaints about the loot issue are an indicator that a LOT of people aren’t happy. Not fixing this will eventually damage the game for everybody, because a lot of people will not play. Without players (and more importantly players who are happy to spend cash) this game will die. This will affect you whether or not you care about loot and legendaries.

6) That there has been absolutely no official response to thousands and thousands of posts about this issue is a very real indicator that the publisher and the developer do not care. Again, this is an issue.

7) Your thoughts on the matter are not relevant and have been repeated hundreds and hundreds of times.

8) The complainers thoughts ARE relevant and require an OFFICIAL response, not some speculative objection to the complaint based on YOUR personal theory that everyone should play the game like you do and want the same things out of it that you do.

There really is nothing at all worth saying on this topic unless an official response is received to any of the hundreds of threads that have already asked for one.

Your objections are adding nothing, the question has been asked, the developers need to answer…and then people can decide if they want to abandon the game and leave it to the people who dont want it changing.

Really? Why is that? Are you assuming its required that I buy it or buy a precursor? Because neither of those are required purchases.

Nope, its assuming that you will have to buy everything else, the T6 Mats, the lodestones etc etc…because if you wait for them to drop you will be waiting a VERY long time indeed.

Why is everybody complaining about RNG?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

pricer.5091

So, why is everybody complaining about RNG? I honestly don’t care about skins, and if I get one by chance from Boxes that’s fine.

Only thing that bothers me a bit is the extremely low drop rate of keys for Black Lion Chests, since I would really like to get some Transmutation stones.

YOU don’t care about skins. The people who are complaining DO care about skins.

Why is this concept so hard to grasp?

Farming

Because to be honest, the only people complaining about loot are the ones who DO want skins…..so what is the point of people who DONT want skins continually saying that the people who do want skins should not want skins. Especially when everyone, as the very same people arguing about it keep stating over and over again, should be free to play their way.

Especially when in fact, they already have those skins?

So bored of this topic it makes my eyes bleed.

I answered stuff like this LONG before I had my legendary. Matter of record. The only reason I cared about a legendary at all was to get that stupid blank icon off my front page, and I was quite content to take my time to get it. Nice try though.

Its not a “try”. You are continually interjecting into threads that simply don’t affect you. Why?

Good. I’m happy for you, but if you want a legendary you are about 1800g short. Irrespective of whether you buy it or craft it.

If this game really was about WvW and (God help us all) sPvP, let me ask you the following two questions:
1) Why have ALL of the content patches not included ANY WvW additional maps, buildings, areas or equipment (apart from traps, which are a gimmick at best)? There have been minor changes, no focus on it by the developers at all.

2) Why has every single content patch included new PVE instances, events and areas?

You just WANT what you are saying to be true…but sadly I think you bought the wrong game.

Edit: there was an announcement that they are making some changes to the way WvW rewards people….but nothing about new content.

I don’t believe it today’s market a B2P MMORPG is truly possible. Because no one can create content fast enough to satisfy the content locusts.

Seven, eight years ago, it was a different market. And even Guild Wars 1 had a cash shop that subsidized their growth. But now, MMOs are big business and in order to compete with the big boys, you have to put real time and MONEY into it. The B2P business plan includes the cash shop and I truly believe the cash shop…or a sub fee…is necessary. I don’t think any MMO can survive long term without one of those two.

Of course it can’t. By the time all of the involved parties have absorbed that initial cash income. Paying dividends, overheads, R&D for future games, salaries, bonuses, material costs etc etc what % of that initial cash injection is left? The selling of the game makes the game exist…the further transactions are what enable it to be maintained, expanded and operate.

Not converted any gems to gold lately, but last time I did 4000 gems netted me 90g.

So therefore having 50,000 would get you approximately 1125g.

Which is not enough to even buy you ANY legendary. So, keep dreaming.

Well now, you need to put initiative gain in your traits. There is a trait to stealth and gain 2 initiative from it. Then you can gain initiative every 2 secs with another trait. ANd there are a bunch of other triats to gain initiative. There are even 2 utilities for it. After that you just use P/D and go Black Powder—-> Hartseeker for stealth. You then hearseeker three times in each black powder. Keep that up and they won’t know where you will black powder next and it will be impossible to find you. You never have to leave stealth if you don’t want to.

This entire paragraph highlights quite obviously that you know nothing at all about the problem you are attempting to highlight.

I can only tell you my odds obviously. I opened 1750 boxes I bought from the TP (the normal coffers obviously…not the rich ones) and also what I farmed (approximately 150 boxes. So, 1900 boxes or therabouts and I got:
Enough Zhaitaffy for exactly 3 Jorbreakers and I have 56 remaining. So 3056.
10 Risen Knight minis.
3 Hot potions
4 cold potions
1 Hard potion
1 charged potion
2 tickets.

So….MY odds of a ticket were 0.105%.

Quite waht I will do with the Jorbreakers is a mystery since theres no use for them other than the wings which can now be bought for les than 25g as someone in their infinite wisdom decided to make the wings also a random drop? Ill conceived at best.

Actually, kinda yes. GW2 is trying to be different, to shake up the stagnate genre.

And its succeeding, by being complete garbage…

Which will encourage others not to make the same stupid mistakes…thereby improving the genre.

I respectfully disagree. Guild Wars 2 is one of the best MMOs I’ve ever played (second only to the original Guild Wars) for exactly the reasons you call it garbage.

Funny how opinions work isn’t it?

I didnt GIVE any reaons for it being garbage. But, sigh, if you really want to know.

I used to like the game, in fact I still like WvW and running about with my guild. But there is NO reward for playing. There is no carrot. You are being endlessly driven to the cash shop and the developers are greedy and deaf.

In addition, it is the worst game I have ever played for actual bugs, in particular class skill ones, which lets face it are pretty important, not being fixed despite complaints being made since the game began.

So its good game….but ruined by poor customer support, not listening and greed.

In a nutshell…it sucks.

It doesn’t want your admiration…it wants your cash.

I understand what you’re saying. My point is this: if you play the game because you enjoy the game, then the farming nerfs will never be more than a minor inconvenience. If you enjoy the game, then expensive cosmetic items are luxuries. And while luxuries are nice – I myself am slowly working on a Legendary – they do not make or break a game. Thus farming nerfs, real or perceived, won’t make or break the game.

They will if you already find the game extremely boring and repetitive (wherever you are in the world) and your only reason for playing is to craft or buy something. Which is where I am right now. Happy you aren’t though.
