Is it this sound? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S87nTACUV0&feature=youtu.be
I had this back in October last year and it persisted for some time, I have not heard it recently and I have no idea what causes it.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Defend_the_reclaimed_camp_by_killing_centaurs
This is not a group event and a standard defend against the waves of enemies event.
Except, an absurd amount of centaurs will spawn much greater than a single person, or two people, hell a full party can deal with.
This is either bugged and all the waves spawn at once or well and truly overtuned.
Screenshot shows just two people doing the event.
Had entire party die at dolphin section, one person managed to respawn after full wipe, rest of party received no respawn dialogue.
The one suviving player died again and still rest of party had no respawn dialogue.
Just did path 1, in the area where you destroy the mounds when the gravelings spawn there is a severe hit on fps in the realm of losing up to 45 fps (60-> 15fps).
Additionally there were several instances where there were gravelings but no models loaded.
Additional Information:
Yesterday I had an instance of this bug last for greater than 5 seconds, I was with guild members in voice chat and they reported what they saw on their screens whilst I was “frozen” on mine.
On my screen my charr engineer was stuck in the move forward animation as I was attempting to move forward with “W” I could move the camera about whilst W was depressed.
On their screen I was running forward and then collided with a wall and continued to run into the wall.
On my screen I released W and then repressed it and I started moving forward normally.
On their screen I teleported back to my initial position and started moving like normal again.
This is becoming increasingly problematic in a position dominated game, seems to happen quite a lot for me now.
Did Burntclaw not get examined when applying the in combat wp change?
I’m not saying that the wp change is bad but for this particular fight it is terrible.
He can remove players from the fight very easily by launching them in the lava which makes them very hard to res because of environment damage and then if they die effectively takes them out of the group and weakens the remainder of the group.
He also has that ridiculous period where he is invulnerable, who the hell thought that was a good idea to put on a boss that already has so many hit points and the ability to tear a party apart real easy.
No wonder no one wants to do cof p3 it’s freaking stupid.
A guild member and I just got this error 4 times for myself and him 3 times doing fractals. Exact same error as mentioned in the post title.
At end seal fighting archdiviner.
Teleports me into a cage, I break the door down and run back in to start range attacks on the archdiviner again.
Archdiviner has gone invulnerable.
Stood there like a clown until my party members got him down far enough to finish the seal off.
Also, this bug (perhaps related) as previously reported has happened to me and guild members in the harpy fractal where they will randomly go invulnerable when ranging them.
the grenth launch aoe is avoidable – it flashes the aoe circle a moment before you get thrown in the air, what makes it dificult is the problem in seeing the aoe circle in the first place because of all the people and effects going off. It is not brightly coloured like the icicle aoe circle.
I am reporting increased incident of what describe as “sticky movement”. This was not present in the game’s earlier patches and has increased regularity as of late.
Frequently I move my character around in combat for positioning using wasd with right click for camera adjustments.
The bug refers to a change in direction I execute on the keyboard and the character will get “stuck” in the change of direction animation and “stick” to the ground non responsive to the direction I have input frozen in the respective animation. This will last for a few seconds and then the character will unstick and move in the direction I have indicated provided I hold the key down. If I release the movement key or move in another direction the animation resets and I am free to move at will.
Interestingly this behaviour did not exist in the early days since release and only has shown up I would estimate in the last couple months.
After the patch the thief shortbow skill – cluster bomb, does not detonate on the wooden platforms and instead falls straight through it like it does not exist.
I have only seen it pop up in recently, must be a new spate of just terrible players who need to glitch to win.
The art team have done a fantastic job of crafting a world to adventure in with a particular aesthetic, it is as many have mentioned a great pleasure just to enjoy the visuals in the world.
Perhaps there was a choice made to keep a particular look outside which is why our town clothes can be fanciful, usable only in towns which can be also dressed up thematically for events and our adventuring kit is suitable for adventuring.
My curiosity is this – why are certain backpieces being designed to be at odds with the armour design in the game? The majority of them fit within the confines of the art direction for the open world on certain classes (books, quivers, fractal back piece) but then there is the christmas sack and now the quaggan which in my opinion whilst great pieces by themselves do not fit thematically into the open world armour design.
I can see at some point in the future when we finally confront other elder dragons the pact army marching towards hordes of dragon minions all in ascended armour, cutsey backpacks on probably was not concepted initially.
That said, why not go the whole way let us wear our townclothes out when adventuring it can’t get any more hilarious for the elder dragons perhaps we can make them laugh themselves out of Tyria, because it is a silly place.
They will seem that way initially but you will gradually trait, gear and skill up and become better at those fights.
Kholer – watch for him placing his sword behind him in the charge animation, a moment later dodge and you wont get nuked by his spin. If you have time learn the timing and how hornet’s sting / monarch’s leap and serpent strike work (ranger sword mainhand skills), you can position yourself easily out of the way of these attacks.
Troll – snare him, stay out of his quite obvious aoe circles (which are slightly larger than they indicate) and keep him on fire (will negate his regen).
If troll + kholer are fighting help kholer out by ranging the troll, you will get the troll eventually down to hp equality with kholers damage from the troll than aoe them both down simultaneously at about 25% remaining hp.
It is a matter of experience in dungeon fights it is better to get in the thick of it and die and learn something rather than get frustrated because of it. There will be genuine times when you will be justifiably annoyed at some of the stuff ANet put in dungeons, AC is not one of them.
No kitten server loyalty at all. Talk about demoralising for all the rest of us left on IoJ.
I got up to the part where you are supposed to light the braziers to enter Mazdac’s tomb and when using the brazier to the right of the door I was teleported under the level into the water.
Basically completely broke the mission and I was unable to complete it.
My guildmates and I just completed TA forward forward for the first time. It took us 3 hours to figure out how to do the dungeon with no outside help and for the most part with just 4 people. We concluded post run that the hammer knight courtier is overtuned compared to every other mob in the dungeon – their damage is way out of whack with anything else even leurent (a boss) and the nightmare tree (the end boss!) – this does not seem like it should be the case, why does this basic trash mob have such a high damage and control output compared to all his cohorts and very little in the way of a tell when he is about to land on your face. The other thing that was interesting to note was we went back after the tree was dead and tried the champion knight again, he had killed us multiple times on the way through and we eventually skipped him and moved on, he dropped nothing which was a massive let down and definitely put him on the not worth even bothering with list, what;s the point of multiple deaths and dealing with a huge damage/control boss when there is no reward. The major source of frustration in this dungeon however is the lack of WP, this is a secondary punishment on top of dying and repair cost – why this was decided on I will never know.
Once upon a time I would of been all for the gw2lfg site but lately its only been filled with elitist types the kind who ruined elite areas in GW1 with their stupid requirements. That kind of crap has no place in GW2.
What stupid req? class composition or requiring you to be experienced in arah? If it’s the former, they don’t fully understand this game, if it’s the latter, I have to agree with them. I explained lupi fight like 50 times and folks mostly never listens. You need experience.
Pray tell how one gets experience to actually do a dungeon when no one will be bothered to take you along and teach you?

On the server I am on I frequently see more bots than real people in southsun, it is pretty sad.
Bandithaunt caverns again.
Not as bad as the first time this bug occured but bad enough that there is a noticeable dip in framerate as soon as you set foot in the caves.
A bit more haste on actioning wave of bans for bots would be appreciated. Since the other thread on bots was nuked by a mod I will not elaborate, but simply I am disheartened to see it take so long for action to be taken by ANet (a month in my example since reporting date, and I am not the only one). If I get the feeling that ANet don’t seem to be as interested as I am, why should I continue to report bots?
Sadly, reporting does not seem to do anything :-(
There are a large number of bots on Gandhara farming the Reef Skelks Southsun Cove 24/7 – Reported them every day for over 7 weeks and every day when i log on they are still there.
I hear you, been a month-ish (probably more) since I reported teleporting bots in southsun (nearly 10+ of them) nothing has been done about them. No matter what time I log on they are there teleporting around farming the same spot 24/7 (I added the bots at time of first report to block list to check).
The blog post recently about bots must have been a bunch of hot air since it is so easy to verify, especially if they have GM’s now who can check for the bots. Certainly does not make me particularly interested in reporting any more bots if this is the case. If this is just one server how much damage will multiple bots across all the servers do if left to their devices for months at a time.
I would like to know if ANet plan to add more uses for karma in to the game or even karma specific fractal items. I do not know about other players but having even more karma is useless to me and that as a reward is zero incentive for me to do a lower level dificulty. In the example the level 53 player would receive scaled down rewards (no incentive) and karma (again no point).
“Wow, wtf just happened”
Getting my kitten handed to me by a pile of creepy dolls.
update
I just bought the wintersday costume for my Guardian and the costume (specifically the chest piece) replicates the exact same sound issue I wrote about above.
I am not expecting this to be a high priority issue but the constant clinking/rattling sound is majorly distracting and I find it irritating doubly so that I just spent 700 gems on the costume only to have the damnable noise come back on my guardian of all characters.
Have to say, I was excited at Halloween about the chests but after the terrible reports about their contents started to come in I was less so enthused. Lost Shore and now Wintersday has done nothing to bolster any interest I have in buying any chests or keys from the store at all. Unfortunately some people never learn and continue to buy these terrible boxes of RNG loot so ANet have close to no incentive to improve them.
Same thing is happening to me, not all the time but enough that is becoming very annoying.
I keep getting sent back to the start even though I have not fallen or stuffed a jump up. No idea what is causing it, feels like the sync issue the mad kings clock tower had.
Puzzle keeps sending me back to the start even though I have not fallen off the platforms. Has happened 4 times in a row so far.
Last week or so I have been experiencing significant latency issues when playing. I thought it might be my connection but others in my guild are experiencing the same issues (we are all australia based). upwards of 2 sec delay on skill activation as well as teleporting mobs and sometimes no skill activation at all.
You must be doing something wrong.
It goes like this:
- starter armour (unique skin, soulbound) on new character
- buy white armour of same class / type, transmute LOOK from starter armour and STATS from purchased white armour yields the LOOK of the starter armour with the stats of the purchased transmuted piece and changes it to account bound.
- When you hit 80 and have the desired stats on your exotic piece, transmute the LOOK from this account bound piece and the STATS from your exotic piece.
- Final result is you have the starter armour look and the stats of your existing exotic or whatever piece of gear.
This is probably not intended but the icebrood attacking moshpoipoi conviniently leave their spears behind as a spiky minefield.
What is even more irritating is the rewards (exo, rare chance, 20 slot box and karka acccessory) they placed at the end of the one time event. Not only asia/oceanics mostly can’t attend we also get screwed out of any chance of the nice drops. Since the ANet team have decided concurrency is their favourite method to decide event timings we are out of luck from this point forward unless something changes.
That said I DID get up early to do the event and due to the D/C lag issues I got screwed anyway, par of the course so far.
I was fighting lag the entire time, then got d/c and got rewarded with nothing. Is that the Ancient Karka fight you are refering to?
Talk about bull, what about all the people who DC’d during the event after putting 2 hours of their time into it.
Will be interesting to see ANet’s response to this, everyone in my party myself included was d/c more than once, I gave up after the third d/c when I was dumped into an overflow back at the second reinforcement phase which was barely started having just come from past that point.
got that and massive lag and the culling error. im sure the event was great but having problems like that severely intrudes on the enjoyment of the game.
I went afk because I could not do kitten because of server lag. Then I got d/c from a 99% complete server rejoined and was put into one at 20%… screw that, I just logged out. What an utter balls up by ANet with these one time events.
Unfortunately ALL mob skills that successfully target you prior to you stealthing will 100% hit you and there is nothing you can do about it. This has been mentioned to ANet in the BWE and still it functions this way instead of causing enemies to break targetting or cause skill interruption. Terrible implementation when you utilise stealth to break line of sight and heal or reposistion, you will get hit and die anyway.
The thing that confuses me is that I keep getting hit by DoTs and have no idea what is attacking me. No red circles on the ground, no direct attack from the mob. Difficulty overall is OK. I do have to check the level, since some are 84s but the 80’s I can solo, barely, most of the time (with a ranger). Guardian dies fast. 1 shot death every time in the maze where you collect golem parts, with any character.
Me too! I swear I was going nuts, sometimes the dot is 3-400 damage per tick and sometimes it is 1000+ dmg per tick, I am trying to figure out what is causing it but I have no idea at the moment.
IoJ overflow here 12:35, still nothing has started, treb is half built.
Maybe it’s you.
It’s definitely the OP, I just did fractals 3 times successfully at level 1 and 2 with PUGS non max level and giving not two damns about their gear and it was great fun. Op presents himself unfortunately as one of those elitist types.
Oh gees, this bloody fractal… group I just was with took more time to run the wisps successfully than the following 2 fractals combined. I thought the water fractal was going to be annoying this one is infinitely more so.
For those commenting on that it will be a cinematic go have a read of the post where MK details what times things will kick off in the news section. He specifically states " This will be a onetime only event chain ", a little more specific than a one time event, i doubt cinematics have chains, if it was something like how the h/w one time event cinematic was planned I doubt people would be as miffed as they are now.
We run one-time events at the time where we have the highest concurrency.
Such a terrible excuse, and not the first time you have stated this.
Can I assume you will make asian/oceanic players from this point forward miss all your one time events if it is based on concurrency from this point forward?
What makes it so hard to run these events several times over the course of the day? Or instance them for once off? Did the tech change that much since GW1 that you can’t do it anymore? Or are you continuing the long standing Anet tradition of ignoring this chunk of the world?
Also the sound for the “/dance” emote is gone as well again replaced by the human female sound.
IoJ here, pve population was massive on my first char, mostly dead on my second char (both 80, 100%) and on my third … well yer, pretty kitten quiet.
