it’s a ton of dps, near perma cond removal, and near infinite ini until you start spamming hs to help finish off the mobs/boss. You can’t just have static utilities and expect to succeed so… I use all of the heals depending on the situation. I use roll for ini, shadow step, smoke screen, scorpion wire, shadow refuge, and haste as my utilities and all of the “0” skills have their uses as well. Also use all the weapons/combos but usually run d/d and sbow.

support thief is not the only good thief. Yes thief is a high risk class but they are also high reward. With my skill set I am able to melee bosses where most warriors stay ranged, we are just able to avoid all that damage completely. It takes time to learn how to do that but when a thief can do that, the become the best class in that dungeon run. The thief doesn’t need to stick in the back 100% with the sbow only to blink to downed allies. There is a time and place for everything the trick is knowing how to approach those situations.

As a thief with dm title and who does a minimum of 6 dungeon runs per day, I can safely say thieves bring a lot to a dungeon run. Btw the PERFECT team comp for Coe is 5 thieves. Tested and true

I know there are a lot of bad thieves out there but when you have a truely good thief in your party, one that really knows the class, they can bring more to the group then any other class. Many people probably believe this but yet every day I see dozens of lfgs saying no thieves. Even in cof p1 farm teams straight up kick my thief(and obviously others) just cause of the bad stigma. People just don’t seem to care that other classes can bring in more than whAt they assume.

He does do a single target nuke but what these guys are failing to recognize is that the aoe circles lie. You can still get hit by the aoe shots while standing completely outside any circles because the zig-zag the projectiles do sometimes make them land to either side of the aoe circle. This is easily testable. Stand outside circles, see that he doesn’t shoot his single target nuke at you OR dodge that nuke, land your dodge outside of any circles, still take damage while watching the single target nuke miss you completely.

To get a group to carry you through or just add you in after Simin was killed? The talks of 20g a slot seemed horrendous to me until I did lupicus with a bunch of pugs and repeatedly failed. I just can’t imagine what doing p4 with them would feel like.

Instead of having the no res ever system, make it so each player gets 1 res per area in the dungeon. Players would still need to be smart and not waste their reses on bosses like alpha but would still allow the new guys to get a grasp as to what motions the boss does before killing you. The current reading mechanic would stay but by giving each player 1 res per boss, it also removes a few problems that this new system has created (namely 1 person making a mistake effectively takes 2 people out of the fight for a long while). Res rushing wouldn’t be as much of an issue as before yet dungeons in general would still be accessible to a wider variety of players.

On the topic of Precursors and Legendaries, I feel that Legendaries are something that every player should have the chance to achieve within reasonable effort during their lifetime in GW2. (My frame of reference is that a casual player who plays an hour or two each day should be able to gain a Legendary within a year or two. I understand that Legendaries are intended to be a long-term goal, not something a player earns within a few months.)
I’m not advocating that a Precursor be handed out at the end of the Personal story, but perhaps one should be handed out as a reward for doing ALL of the following:
1. Complete your Personal Story
2. Complete at least 20 Slayer achievements
3. Defeat a number of unique bosses throughout the game world (the Shadow Behemoth, the Fire Elemental in Thaumanova Reactor, the Blood Witch, the Champion Karka in Southsun Cove, the three Dragon champions, among others)
4. Complete the Weapon Master achievement in the weapon of your choiceAfter all that is complete, you travel to the Dominion of Winds where you are granted an audience with a Tengu Elder Sensei, who challenges you to a special duel (instanced, so you have to do this alone). Defeat her, and she deems you worthy to wield a Precursor weapon that matches the Weapon Master achievement you have completed.
I think all that would be worthy of granting a player a Precursor, and it would be a lot more memorable (and fun!) than simply grinding gold in the TP or throwing items into the MF.

I was honestly interest at buying some gold from a gold seller at one point… Then I got hacked and learnt first hand how they get their money. Not only did I lose my account for a week, but lost over 400g worth of pure gold and items. I was a day or 2 away from buying my precursor but by the time I got my account and items back, the market has inflated at a rate that I can’t possibly match.
It sickens me that the same people who stole my account and got me banned are also associated with many of the people manipulating the market ATM.
Oh and btw, I now have no more desire to buy gold from them ever and avoid association with anybody who I know that do. I wish I knew what these people did to get their gold before I ever considered buying from them.

You aren’t going to please everyone all of the time. People were kittening about The Dreamer BEFORE the update, and 9 out of 10 times it wasn’t because of ‘immersion’. If the bow shot a massive tiger or something, I bet you wouldn’t see this amount of QQ.

The precursor price increase was actually just 1 or 2 guys with too much money manipulating the market. My proof is that 2 weeks ago it was 300g. 1 week ago before change was announced) all 3 on the market were taken off and put back on for 500g. Exact same thing happened the day of the change. All removed, same 3 put back up for 200g higher than before… Very annoying.
Also I do understand why people like the change but thAt chAnge just made my 2nd fav legendary become my 2nd least liked in 1 swoop. Very sad since I was so close to obtaining it.

Since the bow apparently needed more unicorns, why didn’t we get them in the best possible place? Having a walking trail of unicorns would have been 10000x better than what we got IMO and probably would have upset significantly less people as well.
I obviously don’t like the new animation but understand the reasoning as to why it was implemented. The only problem is that anet broke a fundemental rule and tried to fix what wasn’t broken.

I LOVED the old animation for dreamer, whole reason why i’m 99% the way done finishing my bow… then this animation change happened…
. Now I am really sad and don’t know where I should go from here. I guess I could change to make an incin but now I’ve just made multiple very significant and pricey gifts that are now useless/worthless.
Also I DO like unicorns and flying rainbows, just not to that extent. The unicorn on my bow and the rainbows on the arrow (along with the little thing on the arrow tip) was perfect and awesome. The new animation is just too big and clumsy for me. Please let me go back to the old design where the balance was perfect.

Less than a month ago the Lover bow was a little over 300g. Twice now all the bows on the market have been bought and raised in price. First the guy put them back up for 500g and now they’re 700g.
So my question is will there be something put in place to protect the tp from being abused like this in the future from trolly people who have too much money?

Does the agony really re-apply to the resed person after they are brought back up? I did a test run at 38 and resed without any agony but have yet to do 40 since the patch.

Pre-January patch, the Dreamer was one of my favourite legendaries and I was very close to finishing mine (just needed the precursor for a month now). Although, with this new animation… I might need to abandon all my hard work cause I very much dislike the full sized unicorn pooping rainbows. The animation before was awesome and I would want that for my bow.
I know people like the new animation more so the player with the legendary really should be given the option to toggle on/off the new animation so they are able to enjoy their bow to the fullest.

I know for sure that there are people who both love and hate the new legendary animations (especially dreamer). So an easy fix and easy way to please everyone would be to enable a toggle option for both the old and new animations added into the game.
I was working hard for my dreamer pre-patch. All I need now (and for a while) is the precursor. I really do NOT want to abandon all my work because the art team decided to change an animation (that most people loved) on a bow (that most people loved) into something that was pretty much designed to generate split opinions.

hate the new daily… at least they removed the god aweful team combo killer daily. Got that the first time… kitten thing is nearly impossible to do. Can’t use the last finisher ability to kill the mob, oh no no no, that would be too easy. Can’t use any field to use against the mob, oh no no no, that would be too easy. Can’t be a finisher used with a field by some random guy in the world, oh no no no, that would be too easy. It NEEDED to be a poison or fire field and you needed to let the finisher NOT kill the mob but instead let the poison or fire finish the kitten thing off, and to top it all off, the guy NEEDED to be in your party as well… lost out on my first daily cause of that kitten thing.

As on now, using ONLY the main hand weapon still yields a 3rd ability that is unique. This is cool but should be further expanded. IMO, ANET should implement the other 2 abilities as an unarmed off-hand. I mean, give the player 2 extra abilities that the thief uses the empty hand as a weapon. The possibilities could be pretty cool esp with dagger and bare hand.

Fractal and Ascended mean the same thing because EVERYBODY knows that the only way to get Ascended items is from fractals ala fractals=ascended. Now with that being said, it is a very MINOR tidbit in this topic and I don’t even know why it was addressed. The whole point of this thread was to express my concern about the crafting professions becoming increasingly useless for anything but choice exotics and creating legendary pieces.
Before I could get the skin I wanted and craft a weapon with the stats I wanted and use the token to get the skin and stats I wanted onto the same weapon. With all this ascended gear being introduced, that strat will become pointless since I will no longer have any reason to use the weapon smithing weapon for the stats because those stats won’t be the optimal stats/not the ones I want on my weapon.
At the very least, ANET should introduce new armor, weapon, and jewellery recipies to allow the player to create ascended items. If they REALLY want people to still do fractals, they can make the recipe similar to the other dungeon recipies (only the ascended recipes would be easier to obtain) whereas you use the dungeon tokens over t6 mats to create the item. Since the current dungeon recipes don’t allow for the player to chose the stats they want, the recipe should still include a small amount of t6 mats to allow for choice in stats desired.
