New daily rollovers "Urgent Fix Needed"

in Suggestions

maybe they should make another tier for “Hourly”, so players have more of a challenge. 1 laurel for finishing each hour, because it’s rewarding to be logged in. For Hourly, change the ONE SINGLE item rotate every hour, and make it kill count & types/ambient/crafting/gathering/karma spent ones.

then make the daily “complete 2 hourlys” = gold, karma, XP, no Laurels

Weekly would equate to “complete 5 dailys” (out of 7 days, for leeway) = 2 Laurels, Laurel rewards start here, gold, karma, or xp

Monthly would equate to “complete 15 (yes, only 15) dailies” or “complete 2 weeklies” = 10 Laurels, gold, and karma

sure, the math is off, but it’s a suggestion.

if it is a chained event made of several events, sometimes it’s more helpful to players if the one failed, so that the entire event chain restarts, kind of like the Temple of Balthazar chain, or maybe the Centaur camps one.

as for single events, the rewards might just not be very good, so players skip them more often. Add 2 or 3 more events to those to maybe liven them up some.

when the dungeon is not as dynamic as the first 100+ play-throughs, the patterns of AI routes, leashes, mid-dungeon event locations (like the troll in AC), remembering their locations or strategies i think gets kind of boring. when you throw in repetition, dungeons become too predictable to be fun, anymore.

TA has multiple paths groups can take, but after memorizing them all (like in my guild) it gets very boring and tedious, because the dungeon doesn’t dynamically alter itself.

maybe if the dungeon layout changed each time, it would not feel as repetitious. the dungeon objectives are in the same place, the way(s) to get there are never different, either. maybe if the boss order changed, or something, and their locations varied (instead of in the really big room, maybe in a hallway nearby). maybe change up the order of Lupi’s “phases”, i don’t know. eventually though, players are going to remember those “new” patterns, so maybe that isn’t a viable solution.

i bought up 100 ectos in preparation the first night i saw them. i just never know if it is going to change (my guess is no change) in price.

they want us to try out the new guild content, so they used high pricing to do it. it’s up front info and choices (guild missions or laurels+ectoplasms), so while i do not agree with the setup for Earrings, compared to waiting for a bunch of guild players to log on and help find NPCs to kill for the bounty, i am more worried about my guild’s performance during the bounty once we get it unlocked.

A select few of my guild doesn’t like carrying the Cliffside Hammer or using the Dredge Buckets. I’d hate to find they don’t like to run around a specific part of the zone to go find the bounty because “they simply do not like the area or it’s foes there”.

TLDR: Laurels and Ectos i hate, but are okay alternative compared to possible PvE issues in current Guild.

since my guild does not do much guild things together, i look forward to dailies. it is easy enough to do, and according to anet’s plan, it does bring me back to certain areas i have forgotten.

i log on every night for 2-3 hours. first thing i do is my daily, because i enjoy it. i have made a personal challenge to complete 8 of them every night. usually i do not get close (ex: Keg Brawl), but unless there is something going on – new living story stuff or guild activities – i just log out and go to sleep. i could always use more sleep.

i ask my guild if they want to do dailies with me every night, but with no responses, i am not worried too much. they will come running when they can’t find good vet spawns or need another person for Fractals. with my guild more wvw focused, i just get used to doing them all alone.

i like the rewards, and looking every night at my Laurel count is a nice sight. there could be a few more group ones, or guild-related ones (form a party with guild members, or do Fractals with at least 2 guild members). Something that involves a party, because Events do not (you just show up at the right time), Fractals does, but the ressing/kills/vets really don’t need a group, either.

i am currently looking for a second game to occupy my time when not doing dailies or monthlies, or waiting for the precursor.

1.) what made you choose and stay on the server you’re on?(guilds and friends aren’t a valid reason since transfers were free for four months)

i had no friends on my previous server, so i followed a group of players that like to have me around.

2.) what will it take for the wvw players to get you into wvw?

peace and quiet in Borderland/EB JPs, and peace while exploring nekkid and unarmed. being helpful to players still learning the map (me specifically)

3.) wvw benefits your dungeon runs, do you not agree that helping us get the buffs you benefit from is the right thing to do?

it does? i still get crap drops, and the dungeons do not seem to be any easier in my opinion. i am not sure what other benefits are to be had with owning key points on the maps, but it’s benefits are not really seen when roaming about in the pve worlds. (should be a UI thing that says what boosts the server has).

when i am unable to enter because the server is full, i lose interest. when we are losing or falling behind, i do not want to take a spot, only to enter and fail miserably, when another excited player rarin’ to go wants dibs on Durios.

nobody seems to complain when winning, but if a bad commander is present, all hell breaks loose. (i attempted, but failed, my first night as commander. the number if insults i decided not to report was a huge turnoff). a simple “maybe this isn’t your night” would have sufficed. i am probably black-listed among the community, somewhere. i will not be entering wvw for future world completions, as my main has finally finished, while scrubbin’ around.

to add: looking to be hired by other servers to aid the destruction my own server in wvw. because i fail so bad, this will make take-overs very easy for your server! all i have to do is throw on my commander icon and lead them away from battle, or straight into it! win-wins all around!

4.)is it the repair bill that scares you out?(i know pve players with upwards of 200g, so the fact that they’re scared of a 10s repair bill is confusing)

yes, i believe that in a pvp environment, repair bills should not be there. you lost, fix your build and try again. with the skill sets based on what weapons you are holding, besides different runes and sigils, there’s probably a few cookie-cutter builds that will minimize the repair bills, and i feel it stunts creativity (if player is never downed using that specific setup, I’m gonna run it too!)

while i scrubb’d wvw, i spent maybe 1 gold in a night once trying to get some way points at a fortified camp. wasted money for no progress.

5.) why would a risen priestess of melandru be impressed with your Sunrise?

because everyone else has one? i do not own one, so i cannot say. maybe some feel that Sunrise gets Melandru all hot, like handbrake turns and women (learned this on Top Gear).

i like the new dailies. they make me stop in places and look at events in action. some events i never knew had existed, or lead to other places with veterans or whatnot.

4 days to do monthlies, and most of the events were from the Flame & Frost stuff going on in Ascalon and The Shiverpeaks. i rediscovered the wack-a-mole game and spent some time there trying to get a high score (if one exists).

i did not like the crafting portion of the game when i first started playing. the first round of dailies before patch got me to refine ingots and wood planks. with this new daily system, for instance, one of the tiers was to craft masterwork (green items). that was enjoyable, and didn’t really dent my in game budget any. now i am working on crafting a character of mine to lv80 before they set foot on the first event/quest.

kill dailies (kill 40 of something) gets me to stop and fight things while i run around to waypoints or going to dungeon locations. i now take some time in the designated areas, more than before.

finished the monthly in 4 days (because of the daily completion, 4/4), with the other 3 done by the 3rd day.

Maybe you can tell us how much play time you invested.
And if you think it is ok to go through solid rock to speed up a dungeon run.

Did you mean 3 T3 heavy + T3 light + T3 medium = 5 T3 sets = 5 * 129g + 5*6 Fine Transmutation stones?

no. i have a set of each. sorry for the mislead. 1x light, 1x medium, 1x heavy, for 3 total sets. i currently sit on a little bit over 1500 hours. (i think its like 1575, or close). during the week i play 2-3 hours each night before bed, and on weekends, i play 18-20 hour days, with a break for food + bathroom, and the second one to sleep. with an assortment of DVDs to watch on my computer while playing on my second monitor, because i do not have cable television (just internet), play days go by very fast at a tolerable pace. i normally try to sleep before the sun rises again.

i have reached the burnt-out wall several times, but managed to keep playing through it despite agonizing mentally over “i should stop right about now” voice in my head. something always comes along, or a guild friend comes online, which i enjoy. somebody new to talk to, and play with.

i go on dungeons with people i am comfortable with – after all, they showed me how to do the dungeon the first few times, and the same people take me along often when they go. i don’t usually go with others, because i have to then relearn the pacing and play styles each time, usually by the first battle, so it does not seem as easy or fun if i don’t pick up on the party feel by then.

i ran fractals for awhile, but have since been working on pve fluff-n-stuff.

i still end up trying to complete all 9. sometimes i end up finishing the 5 i didn’t track during my play session.

now if they can make it so that monthlies and dailies can be tracked, separately. currently i can only track i think 5 tiers at any time (some combination of dailies and monthlies). i would like to track dailies and monthlies at the same time, instead of tiers overriding each other.

i also have T3 human light for ele, and T3 norn medium. when i bought my first set, i was surely disappointed that the stats weren’t as good as i hoped. i waited and waited everyday, looking at the stats of the items, hoping that one day they will get secretly bumped up. but it did not.

no biggie, because during my travels i acquired some fine transmutation stones, and quickly changed the look of an exotic set. no fuss about it, and i think the price is okay where it is.

i think Anet should just triple the size of vendor icons. or an option to turn off all other players NOT in your party. save FPS, and possibly helps with navigating lion’s arch.

since there is not much player-player trade, the ability to hide all other players not in your party is a good idea. or create content that moves people from Lion’s Arch, and into the other city hubs. i think it is going to get worse when the LA room full of in-progress portals is completed. they should put WvW portals in all cities (i do not recall seeing those anywhere else)

Ascended Gear Core Issues

Posted by: rgrwng.4072

rgrwng.4072

i am okay with the ascended items costing laurels. i just have a problem with the earrings costing +ectoplsm, and the assumed increase in laurel price.

i ground fractals until i got to scale 20, so i can do 2 tiers everyday so i could get my rings. of course, after getting 4 rings for my main, i got bored of it some time before this new laurels system came out. i was happy i did not have to grind fractals anymore, and they updated the dailies that i love so much. they added variety in ways to get stuff, and that made me happy. so i am doing dailies like i always do, happy that after a month of playing i can get something cool for my main. 30-35 laurels doesn’t sound bad (or didn’t).

30-35 for rings and amulets are okay, means that every month, i get something new. now the newest additions cost 40 laurels+50 ectos. this i am not okay with. ectos i thought were bad in Guild Wars 1 – seemed like everyone who was anyone in Guild Wars 1 owned a hefty stock of ectos, and items gradually became their worth “in ectos”. i remember seeing all of the trade channel filled with “selling [various item or weapons] for ECTOPLASMS”. it became the new currency, and it seem like ectos have started to take a similar path.

ectos may be the new gold. forget about gold money in coins or karma, ectos are where it is going to be, again. soon, i speculate ascended armor pieces are going to cost additional rare dyes on top of ectos, depending on what color you want your armor to be, because maybe i can’t dye them with the colors i already unlocked. maybe the ascended items will have to be forged with the specific color to get the colors you want. to forge an ascended armor set, maybe you need an additional T6 material (250, of course) depending on stats you want (like the ascended book/back pieces).

why can’t the accessories just be a straight-up 30 laurels? no need to add other materials to the cost. some can just credit card the gold to buy up enough ectos, but with all of the farming spot alterations and dungeon reworks, money does not seem to be as easy (aside from getting decent materials to craft and sell with) as it once was.

i thought at first that the ascended gear was crap and that i really didn’t need it. i probably still don’t, but i failed to resist the bandwagon and after rings and my recent amulet, i guess anet was finally able to hook me into the new tier.

my bad, dawg.

+ Or just make a requirement that every member must have an equipped Legendary. At least 50 members, so that smaller guilds obviously cannot compete/complete

An internal cooldown has been added to dancing emotes.

+ …of 24 hours

Fixed a bug that caused loot chests to spawn.

+ or locked so you need Dwarven Keys, which are Soul-bound, and can be purchased in the Gem Store for 2/500 Gems

New achievement! Find the nine new windows and peer inside the buildings. There will be interesting things to see! (Interesting things to see will be added in a later patch)

+ this is an added Guild Mission that requires 999,999 Influence, and has to be done in 5 minutes, further gating smaller guilds, and favors 10,000+ member ones

Kholer now spawns gravelings. And those gravelings spawn ghost bunnies. If you hit the ghost bunnies, they spawn ghost wurms. If you hit the ghost wurms, they explode for massive damage and refill Kholer’s health to full.
