Zelyhn, I have not played tournaments, and therefore have nothing positive or negative to say about them. I find it difficult to believe that tPVP is all you do, but to each their own.
Based on the fact that you are dismissing my post because of one missing factor, I too will be dismissing your observation.
this point im going to counter in fact i have several friends who do nothing more then pvp and they are trying to get me into it. im going out on a limb and say 50% pvp only pvp but thats opinion and could be wrong
Magnus, you are clearly ignorant to think that my experience is comparable to yours. Your experience and my experience are two separate things and will remain as such.
Rather than play with two edges of a blade I offered my observation on my experience, and offered Constructive feedback to improve it based on what i would do.
Just because a game is called Guild Wars, does not imply that you will always be dependent on your guild. GW2 is not a guild isolated game, it is an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online game).

Boss fights do not change, they do not progress, World events do not change, they do not progress any further than completion. Then all of them restart back at ground zero.
i agree with you on that point actually. and i wish it did somehow change the world depending on fail and it does seem just to reset although there are few where the enemy takes over and you have to liberate but it is much same thing over and over come on guys cause you disagree therer is no need to personally attack the guy. he makes points i dont agree with everything but i try to point out what i think is wrong and there are points im sure we can agree to disagree
Ricky, from the sound of it, you and your band of 10 brother are extremely talented in WvW, so much so that you are not the average player.
The max cap based on player participation is only an idea, one that community member can expand to a more feasible approach. I stated in my review that it was my observation and personal experience of playing warrior.
I would love to see WvW/sPVP separated into individual servers with PVE so that player who want to ONLY PVE or just want to only WvW/PVE can contribute 100% as compared to players who dont like either or.
Based on your point average for my review you gave me a 4/10 because you disagree with my personal assessment of the warrior class, and an “idea” to make WvW fair for outmanned servers? If you said 7/10 I would accept that.
we were good due to the commander we had. thats something you have to live with in wvw. what you are proposing is longer queues for servers that have mopre wanting to fight because one team at a certain time cant muster a decent team. i say live with that and learn ways to adapt. thats what wvw is about
there were more points those were just the most obvious that i seen. if you want a few more i see more group asking for mesmer now then a thief. warrior is dps thats why they want then in speed groups. they got a guardian to do the support.
second i think your percentage is high about thief using stealth it might be like that in wvw where those people are in it for personal glory and think nothing of the team. yeah thats cool you burst me down stealthed thief but the yak i was escorting made it to the tower. who won the guy left standing or the guy who got supply to a tower needing supply. my team got the better yes he got 2 badges maybe. i wp and started escorting the next yak
mesmer does have some escape ability and you forgot portaling. not everyone plays phantasmal or clone mesmer although i love playing one not everyone does
im going to say he has a few points but hes wrong about others. one thing i picked out wrong is how i just saw he stated warrior was op in pvp. just saw a dev interview in where they are going to rework the warrior along with the necro to make them more viable in pvp cause they were underpowered there. i agree with his comment about separation of pve wvw and pvp. it is too hard to balance for all three types of play something i thought they learned in gw1. i disagree with his so called wvw capping idea. thats the thing with wvw if you dont have the numbers work with what you got. ive been in wvw where our team of ten was going against a zerg of 50 for 5 straight hours. we survived by using tactics baby we were only down one camp during that duration. at one time we actually took a keep but couldnt keep it due to the seige thingy that went on that night( couldnt lay down any seige to protect it. ill give him a 4 out of ten for effort and the few points that were correct but the wrong points killed his creditibility

Well you can still pass the blueprint to commander. But the ownership should belong to the person who activate the build site.
didnt know we could do that actually looked this up after you posted then a while gave some commander love. with 15 ac 4 trech and a bunch of other stuff. im glad we can give them away cuase i [personally hate using the stuff and wish them to go to the cause
this is something i stated several times i feel like they rushed stuff too quick. i feel like they rushed release and trying to release content too quick. it seems to me they try to do too much in too little time. maybe they should double all there timetables. i think they should more quality over quanity and make a better product. i understand with this living story we are in a sort of hit and miss mode and they will get better as they go. everyone learns from mistakes
kudos to the man he said he’d look into it and found something. he deserves a pat for at least looking into it. there are a few persons in the company i like to see post on the forums and he is one. i like how he kept coming back and stating he was working on it something that anet at times doesnt seem to do and for that he deserves a big kudo
i get roughly 20 to 30 late night running a small squad hitting camp and flipping them. watch the ground for bags thats where you get them. if you running primetime i recommend running with the zerg and watch the ground. youll be surprised how many you missed if not looking for them.

to tell the truth i liked parts of both. i liked how most of southsun was out there right in your face but didnt mind doing the instance stuff of f and f. i preferred the dungeon that happened at the end more then i did this canach and null stuff. i loved in the southsun you had to do the achievements but how easy most were. one thing i hated about the f and f stuff was the end achievement how we waited for 2 weeks just for a world buff. no cutscene no nothing but the buff. they should have just given that out at end of dungeon and made the buff 24 hours.
i did log in but i thought it was awesome dungeon i wouldnt mind it coming back as a permanent dungeon
im beginning to think raid along the style like they did in gw1 would be nice endgame. they had expert group who did them well and fast and guild group who usually took more time but could do them with experience. i preferred the 12 man dungeon they had in gw1 but the 8 man ones were fun also. ivwe never done any wow raiding per say but i think raiding might be a great idea just call them 10 to 15 man dungeons instead

my first three you could just jump in and do it no problem they are so close to you could switch them around in order one to three. second three more thought required but once you got the curve no problem.they all have there own play style depending how you want to play them which takes a bit but once you got it they are easy my last two takes some levels to figure out a playstyle but after you understand what your doing they are easy too.
id say ele mainly cause with that class i have no clue what i should be doing atm and ive tried it over and over, ele was my favorite class in gw1 but i just dont grasp it yet. i find guardian ranger and warrior too easy. engineer is clunky to me but not hard to play. dont have much experience thief but doesnt look too hard. mesmer can be hard but fun. necro is easy but i havent gotten far with one yet

put surveys into either the launcher, or send us a survey via mail in-game, that we can either click a choice on or delete if we feel like it. I hate when people say this and that without statistics, but we’re all stuck in the same situation here – statistics are badly needed.
thats the way they should send surveys. make it so everyone could fill it out if they wanted otherwise delete the mail or ignore it. and yes some reward or incemtive wouldnt be bad for our time otherwise some may not even do it. it doesnt have to be a lot but enough for our time of doing survey
yes thanks a lot i got a 2 chars whomneither has gotten to level 80 that fit those items perfectly so im saving those items for those chars
@ricky markham – receiving mail on one character and not another has happened to me too, in past events, because one character’s mail box was full. Now before a big patch with new content I always try and clear out old mail so I know that won’t be what stops an information letter getting through.
my mail is always empty so thats not the reason. i never received the mail and my box was empty on that day and still is
i personally dont think we should get more professions makes it harder to skill balance. i think thats why gw1 got so way out of whack. if they add anything make it new races and new starter areas

i never got my letter on the character i took to southsun. i actually finished all the stuff i could do there then switched char and got one on it. so i never had a letter but i did finish it without a major problem. my only problem i didnt realize there was more then one faction and kept talking to both side til i actually looked at achievements but it was minor problem
the problem with the periscopes were they werent an achievement you could get so why are they still there i dont care if the other stuff was still there for people to finish it up
i actually love it so far think it was well done if this is the vacation crew maybe they should switch places with the regular crew.
why arent these things gone they were ok when the story was there but annoying now

i tip if they mention it in there message and actually i must be a cheapskate i tipped only 5 silver. i do portals all the time and never ask for tips so i dont expect any. but hey they took the time to get a mesmer there to do the portal and if they want something for there time then they deserve something. just like runs in gw. its a service they could do it for free or tips or charge. its up the person wanting that service how much they will pay or tip

breaks arent a bad thing if you come back. i have already taken one from gw2and it lasted a month. i came refreshed and im playing regularly again but i understand where your coming from. it sounds like you got your moneys worth if you dont come back but it sounds like you will
i noticed them too thought maybe id missed something before. thought it was my day for noticing strange stuff. cant seem to recall but i noticed about four different things the ai did different.guess its a relief i thought maybe i should see my doctor about the hallucinations
i dont mind some temporary content id like some piece remain from each bit of temp content even if its a minigame or something small. its supposed to be a living story it should change the world in some minor way.
yes i totally agree a cutscene to tie this part with the upcoming. thats all this finale needed for me
just one comment you mentioned about low graphics. i thought it was my video card bottlenecking my fps find out it was when i changed cpu after i upgraded my video card i saw a huge fps difference and after it iwas able to run my game on high setting. when i upgraded my video card i was still running on low settings it was cpu change that made a huge difference. i didnt realize that was my trouble same everything else.im glad you love the game. my biggest thing is i can go and come back when i want. i got discouraged a bit when they introduced ascended but it made me step back but im back and still going strong
Yeah, having the grand finale dungeon out for not even two weeks is in bad taste. Why not have it up for a month like the other chapters of Flame & Frost?
I hope its due to them realising the pacing was off after recieving feedback from F+F, i mean this update is coming at a unusual time (middle instead of end of month) and the only reason i can see them doing that and cutting the F+F finale short is because they have revised a new schedule for content.
This (i really do hope) should mean Anet is actively working at the problem. Although we will just have to see at the end of the southun transition.

i understand how it works i understand it goes on to the next chapter at least give us a cutscene leading us into it. as for an ending to the first chapter should have been the dungeon ending, i really would have been happy with that.. i dont understand why the wait for an achievement that all i did was go to bonfire then get an hour boon. i was really happy with the frost and flame stuff im just saying they should have made the ending the dungeon or after you talk to both guys get a nice cutscene leading to next stage would have been better for me that way. to me it was lame for the wait and really not much didnt make since that way
i was a bit underwhelmed too in the finale. cant seem to rationalize why the 2 week wait for a bonfire. an achievement for visiting the fire kind of lame hey even a cutscene would have made it better. nope just a hour boon. im sorry but that was lame. they didnt have to give me the world but maybe a 24 hour boon and a cutscene would have satisfied me. or a present with a food item that gave me a 24 hour boon instead of bonfire
i thought there was going to be a cutscene or something to lead us into the next part. now i dont see why we had to wait for something but a bonfire. truthfully one cutscene would have done it for me wasnt asking for much. they could have added bonfire two weeks ago and made dungeon as finale. i really thought most of the content was good. i felt they dropped the ball on this part
i did what vayne said best advice i can give you. im back for bit then ill probably go for a while. funny thing is gw1 had a big enough difference it kept me occupied for 7 years. pre was my soft spot havent found one in gw2 an area that refreshes me like pre did in the original
i was thinking the same elite in my build was meh wishing i could slot in one utility skill which make build better
i did it on one of toon renamed it and within an hour made a new char with the old name. thought the old name fit that profession better then the one i had it on
could be the next part of the living story goes into us helping settling southsun and at the end making it a new real nice playable zone. they got the island and a jumping puzzle wouldnt a half dozen hearts and events make that areas so nice. i see some of the refugee were grawl and hylek a couple of old enemies to take over some of the zones
i really am looking forward to it too. i think the feedback they have gotten will make each step better. i dont mind having them try stuff out to find new avenues of things to do. i didnt care for sab but im glad they tried it out. a lot of people loved it and from what ive read its could be a possible fulltime city mini game.
i like your idea naginto. id love to see the next chapter finish with a something permanent. truthfully i liked the dungeon and thought it was decent and thought it could have stayed. i wouldnt even mind this living story if it ended leaving us a new game for in town. i like how they are adding on the back end pvp stuff and other game stuff guild missions. they can continue that but id like every living story to bring us something otherwise it seems wasted material. i think anything they leave makes it living story cause the world changes bit by bit.
i did those 150 periscopes before the nerf i found them all challenging i was doing other content knew how many were in each zone . i think the whole thing took me a week for the 150. i liked doing it actually thought sitting in la for portal to puzzle ending would have been more boring but everyone has different thresholds for different projects. funny thing finding the goods for the refugees is what i was doing along with zone completion and a couple of farming for materials for crafting. i especially liked when the molten alliance popped up when i tried to take down a periscope. it was a challenge to get them far enough away to destroy them then get the scope after they were done. it could have been tedious to some i see that but it kept me on edge and excited doing the material. i obviously could have done 600 and i might have i revisisited those zones quite a bit helping others with them. i make long post too sometimes but yes your post was a bit long
that is something ive been telling myself itll get better and any feedback positive or negative provides them something which in turn helps make future content better . i give anet kudos they are trying and sometimes it might seem like one step forward and two back but they are learning a lot on thier trial and error. so letting them know what you like and dislike provides some feedback which makes better material down the line and gives the community that they have a voice in how future content and the game goes from now on. i did love alot of the frost and flame material but i think if it left something to the world it might make us feel like we actually did something but what im reading itll all go away.to me that feels like filler content. dont get me wrong i appreciate what they are doing and support them and understand these are growing pains and give feedback hoping to help them out with good and bad when needed
i actually totally agree with you about something sticking around. i think if they put just a bit in each part of this living story and left it in it would grow the world and give it more of that lived in thought

n ot going to say im a fan of everything they did but the devs are trying they might be trying to put too much into the game too fast but they are doing a good job. halloween and wintersday were my favorites. lost shores was a bit of a mess but they learned a lot and it was a good effort. sab i see a lot of love not my cup of tea. id love to see more spvp and wvw changes i dont care for either format but some like them only my opinion and yes the devs are trying. fractals another update that has a lot of fans not my cup of tea but dev deserve praise for this too. guild updates good for bigger guilds but yes another bit of praise for trying here devs. change in dailies and monthlies one of my personal favorites and i get it some arent crazy about them. living world not sure about it it seems light but its just getting going hope to see something decent come out of it
so i can say yes the devs are trying and thanks and good job. well worth the money. its not all my cup of tea but they are really trying and deserve praise
