im going to say yes i did do all those areas ive got 100 percent but since i didnt want to wvw at the time so would have bought those things so i didnt have to i was wasting a spot for someone who did thats actually why i did most of mine late at night when less are on. i did get to the point where i got to like wvw now and do some on occasions when i got time. so mabye forcing me to wvw got me to actually wvw but thats against play the way you want somewhat

oh yes,,we casuals LOVE to do the boss dance every 5 mins
during the normal quests
the surprise attacks of event bosses
and, of course, the EPIC storyline bosses
maybe ill pop back in for a couple of days Again next year

reason i like the quick boss battles cause every moment i play the game i have to decide where to spend my time fun versus gold in game to spend on what i want. i have to decide if i want to do achievements and doing just dailies and monthlies all the time. ive gotten most monthlies but only half the dailies and hardly finished achievements for living stories useless i can finish then up within a few hours of play

and that makes you a hardcore player
designing an mmo for the hardcore player will give them the according income
until they give me the option to skip those bosses completely, im not paying them another cent
but hey…perhaps they can just reprogram all those bosses to give them their next paycheck

so im hardcore if i have 2 hours a week to play and have to deicde what im going to do in those 2 hours

took me 6 months to exotics decked out on my first char then a couple of months later my second. only have three so far decked out ones from temple armor and karma i needed to unload two crafted. dont have a legendary yet not even close i got rng out of the way just need materials and dungeon tokens which im way short on(6 months more maybe). got my precursor through rng chest otherwise i wouldnt have it. dont have an ascended weapon yet im probably 5 months from it. ive got ascended amulet one ring and one assessory so far. ive only did two dungeon runs in my first year and those were both story mode. ive did fractals but as part of a guild thing we were doing something for one of the living stories and they needed help

The amount of time you can play doesn’t determine whether your are a hardcore or casual player. In fact, I hate these labels altogether. “Casual” implies that the casual player could just as easily play solitaire or has no interest in improving their skills.

If we must divide the community into “casual” and “hardcore” groups we should come up with a way of differentiating them other than hardcore players play like me, the rest are casual. Many people I would consider to be avid GW2 players have jobs, and lives outside the game. They can’t spend 4-12 hours a day in game.

Also, the most recent update requires you to fight Scarlet in each of 11(sorry don’t remember the exact count) different zones. That’s 7-10 hours of game play just to complete the bi-weekly stuff. I don’t see that as appealing to the “casual gamer.”

In fact I have no idea who the target audience for that is.

It’s 13 zones…apparently I’m the target audience for that. lol

Probably, you seem to have a lot of time to play More than I do anyway. But my main point is that that isn’t “casual” by any reasonable definition unless you define casual to be “anything I don’t like.”

I don’t think anyone here would say that you are a casual gamer, unless they had a very very odd definition of casual.

See the problem is, I am casual…but I have lots of time. I’m casual because I’m not hard-core. I’m not interested, particularly, in challenge. I’m more interested in running around and having fun.

Apparently, to a lot of people, that makes me casual. I don’t think I’m that casual about the game…but what do I know? lol

There’s a new term around for a third category that you seem to fit in. It’s called dedicated player.

Casual= doesn’t play that many hours and doesn’t care much about harder stuff in the game. Just likes the game. May or may not have max level characters but will generally avoid endgame.

Dedicated= plays a lot of hours but isn’t as concerned with having a million gold and bis gear now. may or may not participate in endgame.

Hardcore= generally plays all the hours he/she can and wants to stay ahead of the rest of the group. will set targets like being the first at max level or beating a dungeon.

It’s a rough division and definition but I think it has merit to add a third group. I certainly am more Dedicated, at least in other games I play. Here I am casual at best

i like your descriptions best but prefer the word enthusiast instead of dedicated although your definition define me as a casual. but i do like to do endgame just dont have the time to do it but i fit the casual def. three definitions makes more sense and more correctly defines a lot of people better then the traditional hardcore versus casual

Short and straight forward!

- More viable Builds-possibly on the way
- More Skills-possibly on the way
- More Team builds -possibly on the way
- Hard mode in dungeon maybe even in PVE maps-doubt it
- PVP modes – GVG / HA -think they said something along the lines they dont want to make too many pvp modes spreads pvp comunity to thin
- Better Rewards PVP-i agree
- Continue of Balance -possibly on the way
- Exclusive Weapons for the Champs / Dungeons / PvP / WvsW- champs already have this would love to see the others
- Continue the work in WvsW , thats a good direction -yes yes
- Teach people Combat – dont see how they can do this system is fairly simple
- Balance your Combat maybe even do more / better fields – lighting and fire = Chaos idk think about something--no comment
- World Tournaments Like Snowball at -could hopefully
- Ladders for some minigames , Spirit sactum could be cool -nice idea
- Combine minigames and Guild for example could there be a monthly guild vs guild Dragon bash tourny could be nice idea
- Guilds should do an alliance ( maybe for impact on W vs W to create uniq buffs for alliances)possibly not sure i like this idea have to think about it
- New Achiements for longer term motivation, your current once arent hard to get and after people can only get ls and daily ap´s , thats bad! theirs too many achievements already so i agree
- Build safer and Armor safer not sure what you mean by this
- Action House – sort armor after light, medium and heavy ! yes yes
-Same for dungeon armor/weapon sellers in LA -yes yes
- Guild Halls- dont think this wil ever happen although they say it is
- New Maps , new dynamic events more influce on the maps—yes yes
- Call for boss champs even on the next map that people can gather up , i mean if a dragon is in the sky you can see it out from the next map ! might be to hard to implement but a hood idea
- Stop the facepalm smashbutton spam -same as last answer
- More focus on the fights , interupting on important skills should have a good influence on the fight and not like atm where you just spam and kill everything with your head on the 1 key. id love to se this but dont think it can be done due to system setup
-Real birthdays presents not 1000000x the same minipet as on the first birthday -yes yes
- WvsW que , show the estimated time or the number you are in the waiting list yes yes
- Better match making-not sure how they would handle and i dont think they know either maybe thats why they decided tourny
- PvP should aswell be able to earn money -i agree totaly al modes should have equal money making ability
- Aggrosystem seems still a bit strange , wont go in detail cause of exploit--????
- PvP do something about the grindtitle2 —not a pvp so not sure here either
- Condition Damage builds on structures , i can put bleeding on a tree but dont a tree wall ? not sure what you mean either
- Underwater combat- love to see revamped underwater combat but not sure if they are going to do it

nice list though

funny thing i said along that the two week pace was too fast and even before that i called for less content updates and to get the game in a better state. i will admit anet is always been over ambitious when trying to add new content. i remember in gw1 they stated they wanted to do a chapter each 6 months and then two chapters later they scraped that. anet has always tried too hard and too fast. they need to learn patience. i think the two week thingy is going to burn both us and them out so going back to the monthly thing and getting the pace right might be a great idea. i still think the living story could have so much potential is done a bit differently and slower but what they have now is a disaster waiting to happen

Ricky, the idea of having a LS in GW2 is awesome. Its just that, right now, the story and execution is done pretty poorly. Issues include too much grinding and not enough time to finish them, story not polished, characters not polished, Scarlet is a Villain Sue that have nothing to do with the GW2 universe, etc.

And seriously way too much land battles against the sky pirates. When will we get to fight them in the sky?

ill agree with the idea of having it was a great idea if they would have had better flow. i felt from the start i’ve been jerked around. i’m sorry but they should have done 3 or 4 living stories about the molten alliance itself with each one giving us more stuff about them. and now i’ve been jerked around so much i see no connection between many of the story lines especially sab how does it relate to the story or was it put there to show us that an ending happened and we are going to the next living story. if the last chapter was an ending how is that an ending. every chapter i questioned how these all relate and everyone says we’ll get the explanation in the next chapter or down the road you’ll see the connection. i don’t understand the connection i don’t see endings. i thought our personal nemises we were supposed to know all along and would recognize. i didn’t know scarlet til she appeared and still don’t have a clue why she did what she did. i work for a living i cant 5 million places to figure this stuff out. anet either needs how to relate this info better or give up. i love this game but they are making it more frustrating each 2 weeks they do this garbage.

sad fact is i could put a better story together with a class of preschoolers. this story has no flow. it jerks you around this way then that way and sometimes doesnt connect at all. please explain to me how sab connects to the living story because the last one didnt feel like an end to me and if i believe ya ill take this all back. im convinced anet had no idea where they were going and still dont. so maybe its time to end this living story garbage. they might as well quit and start making an exspansion cause with this garbage i dont see how they can do add ons that would seem to flow to be like an exspansion. i dont think its possible the way they are doing it. maybe if they had a flow i could see it

im hoping guild make this an event cause it looks like coordination will be a factor. im hoping the third group of 60 people almost did it. most tequatl group go from 20 to 100 that ive seen so larger group might take him off hours groups might not. the big thing is if the rewards are good enough. they stated ascended gear and the mini could drop as for guaranteed they didnt say but if a guaranteed ascended was given for beating him that might be enough to bring people. the event will take quite a chunk of time. guess all we can do is hope they didnt do us wrong and usually anet does good on that type of stuff. it is what people have been asking for well some for harder dragon events so im hoping they are happy. im sure once we get our hands into him itll be science and we will have the formula to beat him in no time. gw players always have a knack for that. so im upbeat about the changes might be something we recal foundly 5 years from now

the third group actually made me think it isnt going to be that bad and if it is im sure anet will tweek it a bit. im hoping rewards are decent compared to time and effort. thats the reason i hardly do jormag the time to do him for the same rewards of other dragons makes him low on list to do for my short time of play. i does look like some coordination going to be needed so that a plus makes it more exciting fight not the same old press the button until he dies

How about a more detailed TP search function ?

The game has been out for a year… and we still can’t even do something as simple as search or sort by armor type – really now?

^This!^ omg I never really think about that until I’m wanting to buy new armor. Sifting past all the Heavy/Light sets with the same stats is just a pure annoyance.

There are only two reasons I can think of that they haven’t done this glaringly obvious step:
1) They profit too much from accidental purchases
2) They aren’t smart enough to do it

With what I’ve seen this past year, I’m betting on #1

3. On the list of priorities none of the thing the op mention is on the top except LFG which is being worked on.

Guild halls is one of those things that were popular for like 3 month then rarely ever used in guild wars 1 aka not a priority.
Conquest: it the main mode for pvp, game wasn’t properly designed for deathmatch. Or any other mode without serious modificaitons to every skill.

guildhalls were extremely used in gw1 with my guild they held parties and meet up for events used everyday in my guild plus it was a place to hang out if you didnt want to do something.

Can’t you guys just thank Anet for this convenience!?

you serious your supposed to waste a bag slot on one mini on every char when you can put them in the bank. you must stay in towns a lot and not need those slots. everytime i go out i salvage a tons of stuff plus have to clear my bags from salvaged materials several times no room for meaningless mini on my travels. great idea op hope they do something hate having 4 extra minis in the bank oops now its 9 because they regave the b-day gifts plus a 10 in a few days cause i wanted to reserve names and bought an extra slot to get that 6th name reserved after headstart

i get the receipt and try to take it back to get something else which i cant do with this gift. i probably would have less problems if i only got one b day gift but with the multiple which i cant turn the others into something else burns me more. its not that i want gold being able to mystic forge the extra minis to get another account bound mini would be fine with me. this is more like if grandma and every aunt and uncle gave me the same ugly sweater. if there was one id probably keep it but 6 of the same i want to get something else besides this ugly sweater 6 times

I think the scrolls should ADD twenty levels and be tradeable between characters.

Also, people can get their characters up to 80 easily, apparently. They can farm with their level 80 character and Craft their ALT up to 80, if they really really want to.

However, the level 20 scroll would have been far more useful to most of us to give our baby characters a much needed boost.

Still, advancing from 1 to 20 means that you have your Personal Story to go through which should give you at least 2 additional levels.

im thinking give us 20 skill points someone pointed out that having someone do stuff with a level 80 who has never played that character wasnt a good thing and until they pointed that out i was all for your idea. skill points are extremely useful even after i completed world exploration on my main its harder to get skil point needed for legendary crafting so the 20 skill points would be extremely useful
