they could post but do a copy paste here too. ok i understand trying to get out there but all news and stuff but it should be shared and put out to the faithful who come here on their own site. i think its a mistake by not putting it here too
They never actually said an expansion’s worth of content in one release.
Here is a quote from Colin:
“… but we absolutely are going to do sweeping new features that you would traditionally only get in expansions – large regions, content and progression additions to your characters in the form of growth and professions and races. Those are all things that you will see in the lifespan of Guild Wars 2.”
it was a dev who stated specific in about a release i think it was april or may about the big release coming would have an exspansion worth of material in it. i could find it but im too lazy hopefully someone else can find the quote
WE want the holy trinity of mounted cape wrestling !!
The game is dead because the lack of mounted cape wrestling
sad thing im curious about mounted cape wrestling. i dont want to participate but just to watch it…lol.. second to topic on hand i dont want duels in open world im ok with duel arenas specific for that purpose. my reason i didnt like it in other games(its just not my bag of tea sorry) a couple i quit because of open world dueling. id quit this game if they implemented open world dueling also but like i said im ok with duel arenas for that type of thing

Theory: the peach I just ate is a meteorite. Discuss!
that one was close we could have exterminated all life on earth if you hadnt eaten it. sorry op you should have at least give reason why you think that possible. like mordreth is all cripple people thats why we see so many cripple fights like in south park. like how mordreth wanted to go into asuran form to keep close to his minion or something along that line. i hate to debunk but didnt we know where taimi was when the drill hit and the roar sounded?
just saying i might be on my last legs in gw2 im still interested if they can get better in the ls. i want to see how they implement new areas in the game
heres my prediction we will encounter the white mantle again. maybes bits in each ls season as we start going after the dragons. i think toward the end we will find out by killing the dragons only makes then stronger which explains why tequatl(zaitans gotten stronger) got stronger. that we have the only option of putting them to sleep which is the most effective way of defeating them which we learn from investigating the mantle who had ties to the mursatt
I don’t think ArenaNet ‘hypes’ too much. If anything, they give little information, really. A teaser trailer than may suggest some things that will (or can) happen in the future. Seems most of the hype comes from the playerbase (which may be their plan).
when they said an exspansion amount of material in one release last year id say that was overhype and the reason why they arent allowed to say much
they have white mantle in one of the personal stories for human so they are still up and going maybe we will se more of them in ls2
not much log in now and then to do dailies farm some dragonite
i hope it is opened up eventually. it was one of my favorite areas in gw1. i remember farming a lot of totem axes there at one time
first of nice to see the trailer. id love to see a new zone the first day and would applaud anet for opening up a new area but im not going to count on it. anet has a habit of hyping too much and not delivering as much. my biggest problem with them. i cant wait and i hope im not disappointed. i cant take much more disappointment from them
i wouldnt mind if all dungeon currency was the same. one currency instead of the several we have now would be a good way to go
i like how they put the merchant banks and crafting stations all over. only thing id like is to have some of the debris cleared up not so many holes in the bridges fix the lions statue and a few more things but i like the layout with all the stations
sometimes i think they listen too much to the players or go too far with ideas. thats the reason why i feel the need to put input into threads on the forums
me too op i cant wait to start but doing when i want to do it. i think that part is the best part of the journal and being to replay the parts i liked so much over and over
great idea op they could have three parts are each release it would be a bit more work and with our choice which one we do. each mission reveals part of the living story and the ability to do the other parts with guild mates
ok op i like this idea. it gives the duel option many are asking for plus a ground for gvg that many wanted. maybe make the tickets sellable on the tp too so those who dont want to do this have A way to rid of those tickets and those who keep wanting to duel can buy them up
i thought ghost of ascalon was the best of the three books. i reread it three times already
ok op ideas are good and it doesnt hurt to have more ideas out there plus i always loved the skritt
I personally wouldn’t assume that Dragon Bash won’t happen.
It is still fully possible that it does come back (it started in the middle of June last time) and that this is just announcing when Living Story is back.
im thinking your right i think the bash will start off the second season with something happening that moves us into the jungle trying to figure what happened
oh man onemantankwall now i want french fries. im saying they wanted to experiement with the ls they had one chance and it didnt go the greatest lets see if they learn from their mistakes first then maybe we can be right about an exspansion
actually im most happy about a date then info and it does tease new zones which also make me happy
im thinking it should be a decently slow rebuild but i kind of like the layout they have with so many craft stations. i think i found my favorite part of the city id like to see a cleanup and build some stuff up over time but dont return it fully to what it was change the layout
i got hammer both shortbow and longbow and greatsword first skin in a while i liked. thought about shield but dont think i like shield on any of my chars but still may buy it just to get the skin. i had a bunch of lion skins tickets saved up thank goodness
Perhaps we won’t get a full-on expansion, but instead the option to purchase access to additional maps via the gem store. Each would come with it’s own set of hearts and events, a handful of unique rewards (skins!) and hopefully at least one new dungeon between the lot. And of course, a boatload of loosely related fluff in the gem store
I don’t think new races or professions are likely in the immediate future though.
no to purchasing new maps via the gem store if they release they better release to all otherwise at that time id be gone for good. they stated all item in gem store were cosmetic only
no to open world but a dueling arena or two for those who want it with no charge is ok with me. so op as long as its in certain areas or an free arena in ok with it
im hoping for new zones and id love that it be them and it looks like a good possibility. i love revisiting places i once went in gw1 and see how its changed
my gw1 hours in the last week surpassed my gw2 hours been playing gw1 since release. so gw1
i agree op and i hope they get way better but also by what they shown i dont know if they can. im also a expansion type of person prefer ym xpac every year and a half
OMG stop complaining about content i would understand if you didn’t have anything new for 6 months. Let them launch the game in the new country first. If you don’t like it go and play other mmo’s that give you new content every year.
problem they created was the 2 week schedule got everyone looking for content right after content. not we got feature pack it would be great to get news when the 2 week content will begin again or whatever path they are taking. they dont have to release trailor or nothing of that sort. maybe a blog post where the games going and a date for season 2(even if its a month away) to begin is all im asking. they started the 2 week process and its been better then 2 weeks and no info when new stuff might be coming its there fault
No you got that wrong. I, and with me many are not here because we can’t wait for the LS2 to start. In fact I would be fine if that would never come. I have more fun without the Prussian of “do this content now or lose out on it forever”.
I am here to see if we get any news about real content, an upcoming expansion. After the debacle of LS S1. That is what I have been waiting for a long time.
id prefer an expansion and i hope they relize that but i dont see that coming so i might as well see what they give me which will be ls2. as for me they created the 2 week schedule and now a month after an update no news about when stuff might come bad business decision. anet has been tightlipped and thats the biggest problem i have with them. hey if stuff not being done tell us and tell us why. right now im asking on timestamp when we hear about new content. hey take 5 minutes to do a blog
im sure if an expansion comes itll be a year after china release(although not sure expansions will come at all) itll be ls season 2 til then if there is an expansion
ok op im thinking your probably right on that one. wonder what the dragon bash might bring
mmmm ok more to bump your thread cause its a prediction thread and might be a year or two before we see it
I think the main issue would be bloating up the world.
If they keep releasing new stuff every two weeks and never remove it, sooner or later the world will just be a massive mess due to massively amount of content that people don’t even bother doing after the first month. If [insert thing here]was open people would play it for a month, then they would come here and demand something new because “[insert thing here] is so boring!”.
While there is some validity to this, it’s an extreme position that doesn’t reflect how most people actually play.
In my memory of GW1, there was very little of the content that was completely abandoned – it may be hard to find groups at times, but missions, dungeons, UW/FoW, DoA… there were people doing those up until GW2 released.
Yes, there will be a natural dropoff in participation as the ‘newness’ of content rubs off. As a balancing factor, though, when people are playing the cat out of one piece of content and barely touching anything else because they’re rushing to play temporary content while it’s there, they get burnt out – and that could be getting burnt out on the temporary content or on the game as a whole. Permanent content, on the other hand, always allows the opportunity to come back and do it later when the inclination strikes. It might be harder to get a group together to PUG it, but with a good guild and/or friend list, there’s always the option to get the gang together and do it regardless of whether it’s popular among the wider community at the time. For instance, I and a few others in one of my guilds miss the Molten Facility dungeon, but short of getting lucky in a fractal run that’s not something we can do any more, and even if we DID get lucky in a fractal, the dungeon’s been chopped into bits rather than remaining as an intact whole.
To avoid accusations of rose-tinted glasses, let’s look at GW2. People are still doing dungeons, fractals, world events, and so on – even though most of this content was either available at release or shortly afterwards. Where are the people still doing Battle for Lion’s Arch, or Tower of Nightmares? They don’t exist, because that was temporary content that’s no longer available. Where are the people who might otherwise be doing that temporary content? Some of them will be in other parts of the game, doing other things. Others, though, will simply be not playing.
And that’s the thing the ‘bloated’ argument misses: Player distribution among regions is not a zero-sum game. Yes, giving people more things to do will mean they’re more spread out. However, giving people more things to do keeps retention rates up and players in the game, so while players may be less concentrated, there is also more of them. At worst, you get the same result as temporary content, with players congregating at whatever part is new… but if pre-existing content is in a form that doesn’t require zergs, or even if it does require zergs but a guild is big enough to form its own, it still adds more to the game to leave content in that may be mostly abandoned but can still be played if a group gets together than removing it entirely.
At the bottom line… it’s past eighteen months in. Eighteen months into GW1, the world had tripled in size and content, and I still had lots to do. Even now, there are things that were on my to-do list that I never actually got to.
Compare to GW2… the feeling of ‘lots to do’ is steadily fading. It’d be an exaggeration to say it’s fading fast, but another year or so of the same direction it’s been going, and I could see myself growing bored of doing the same things over and over again (punctuated by the occasional spate of doing the same temporary content over and over again while it’s available) and leaving. And from what other people are saying, I don’t think I’m alone in this respect.
GW1 had its flaws and complaints, yes, but running out of things to do was rarely one of them until well after most development had ceased entirely, apart from the minority who blitz through the content with a single character and then complain they’ve done it (and they’re always going to outpace development, nothing can be done to appease those). Here, you’ve got the people who play through with multiple characters complaining, because it’s been long enough that those people are finishing up. It’s sad but true that GW:Beyond could almost be said to have added more to GW1 than LS has to GW2, when GW:B was basically just marking time on a game that was planned to be abandoned while GW2 is what ArenaNet is focused on.
The world needs to grow, or it’s going to to become increasingly stale.
well stated and agree 100 percent. i play gw1 more now then i do gw2 still and it has nothing to do with ls atm even when ls was here i was playing more gw1 then gw2. i got 8 alts and 1 main on both gw1 and gw2
I’m fairly positive that the Elder Dragons, when we eventually get to them, will be done on a grand scale. The game revolves around them, after all.
Traditional B2P games are expansion fueled. But, apparently, the cash shop model is what was adopted and we’ve had to suffer through it.
Maybe we’ll see an expansion “soon”, as they’re “working on it”, and “nothing is off the table” since with Scarlet’s demise, we’ve seen Mordy make an appearance.
At least we can hope, right?
i cant say that at all just by the ls went so far.
i just wish anet would say hey your going to get info on a certain date would be enough for me right now they dont even have to say release date of the stuff. i think the longer they go without communicating the more people who leave. im sorry they set the schedule of 2 weeks even when we said pace then out more. so going so long without any info just isnt going to cut it
i didnt like the ls that much really but it kept us doing something but by not having anything it probably free some people up to explore another game or so like me
new skills id like a bit more variety in our builds not as far as gw1 did
to tell the truth might as well keep expectation low otherwise you get ticked off. i expect a little better then last ls season. hopefully an area or two. keep the expectations low so your happy when its better then what came but not disappointed when it doesnt live up to what you expected
it could work if done right but with the way they did season 1 i doubt they could pull it off
i agree with tom make em tradeable it seems like certain people like have trouble getting one kind and not another. i need tons of drasgonite but have tons of the other two. bloodust can be used to make ascended backpacks. i used my extra of it to make ascended backpacks for my alts
Well both Trahearne and Caithe were involved in campaigns to slay elder dragons (or atleast putting them down until the next cycle of their awakening), so does that mean Scarlet has plans to slay one other elder dragon? But looking at that screen shot, who do you think is behind Scarlet? It’s you, you are behind Scarlet so you are the villain.
sorry it was my sylvari character
scarlet would have been better if they would have given some personality her race had nothing to do with it.she was bland(due to hardly no personality triats) as a villian whereas seiran in the priority was awesome little too bubbly for my tastes but actually reminded me of someone i know so i can relate to her just couldnt relate or understand to scarlet.
ok i agree with aedelric give us minor dragon and see how they do before we let them tackle any of the more well known dragon or things
kiels behaviour and helping out taimi

hobo(hero) tron is the true hero of lions arch and im calling for a statue of him(hobo/hero tron) to be built where the lion once stood and we should now call the city hobo arch
op i like all your suggestion but number 6. i just dont think i like the ability to get old achievements although i missed a few myself but i could live with it it if was introduced. everything else you suggested id like to see. number 7 i think youll see that when they change the trait system in the near future. number 8 i think you can do that already and with the new trait system i think number will be doable at that time.
labeled overflows would solve a lot of problem of groups wanting to play together. 1 2 and 3 have been things people have been asking for and i think youll see them
i love this idea op
leave shadow alone hes in started area and we need at least one or two easier ones . they could improve shatterer or one of the others in higher zones for those who want harder content ot just make new encounters for them.
i was wondering the same
