Actually only the text in the mail composition window is selectable. You cannot select text from the chat window or a mail that you have received.
I would not go as far as making it completely account wide, but at least partially.
And not just maps. All sorts of stuff.Reveal an area in the map? The rest get the name greyed in their maps, but the area stays unrevealed until they get there themselves.
Get a point of the map with a character? The rest get it greyed, so they can see where it is but it won’t be active until they get there themselves.
Get a recipe with a character? The rest get it in their list, but colored purple, so they will be able to see it, but won’t be able to use it until they discover or unlock it themselves.
Get commander with a character? The rest have to pay less to unlock it too.
And so on.Not fully account wide, but small changes to ease playing with more than one character.
I like this idea. It seems like a very reasonable compromise. And as I just mentioned in another thread, I have had problems getting to a point I had never been to as an alt because it was not visible on my map. Not really a problem for me, but my guildmates had to add me to a party so I could see where to run to.

I think it should still scoll to the area, even if you haven’t discovered it. The map will be blank, of course, but at least you will have an idea where to go. I have had to meet guild members at a place I have never been before and someone had to drop party so I could see a player on the map who was already there.

Really? Why should an engineer (for example) get the option to run fast? Most engineers that I know, across several different fields, mind you, are very sedentary.
Also, if you give everyone the option to do something that currently only certain professions can do, what do you give those people to compensate for their loss?

It would be great if you could change your characters looks, esp. if they added more body types and scars. For example, in the guild I role play in, someone just lost an eye. It would be awesome if they could actually change their appearance to reflect that.

That is so bogus. I encounter this all of the time and once I could not use chat for well over 2 hours of game time. I did find a work around, of sorts – you can post to chat via custom emote.

I’d say increase guild formation to 5G (with the upgrade tiers such that a 500guild costs about 20G total). This would clear out a large number of pointless guilds. Other than PvP (which doesn’t give gold rewards, maybe they could use tokens or something?), a player who cannot amass 5G has no business running a guild.
Wow! What a nice way of saying ‘I am an elitist snob!’. What about all of the RP guilds where people actually spend most of their time RPing and not amassing the wealth you would require?

I got the message suppression warning a few updates ago and was blocked from using /say for over 8 hours! The only way I could interact in chat was via custom emote. They need to fix this issue!

I completely disagree with the OP. I am in multiple guilds. I like being in multiple guilds because of the freedom it allows me. The only hindrance, IMO, to the multiple guild system is the limitation of only being able to talk to one at a time. If I could talk to all of my guilds simultaneously, I could go where I was needed or wanted to be at a moments notice, thereby improving my ability to be a good guild member for all of my guilds instead of just the one I am repping currently.

I have had to report rude players for Verbal Abuse or Spamming when that was not really appropriate but it was the closest option. And since I could not even give a brief description of their offense, I was forced to rely upon the intelligence and patience of whomever processed the report. Nor is there any mechanism to even know if the report was processed or processed correctly.

The real problem, from my point of view is that their is no way to archive mail, so I am forced to take a screenshot of a mail I wish to keep (for whatever reason) and then transcribe it. Also, what is the point of a 10 message limit anyway? Why not replace my cell phone with a tin can and a piece of string as well?

Not only that, but the reporting options are way too limited and because of this oversight, AN probably has to take more time to verify that a report was legitimate. It would suck to be temp-banned hastily by someone who revoked it at a later time when they did a more thorough job.
They implemented this feature quite poorly and it does more harm to the players than anything else.

I RP a singer. The chat message suppression warning is so limited that I cannot even sing a complete song because by the time I repeat a refrain 3-4 times, I have triggered it.
Another example: my singer is a 16 year old girl with ADHD…she can easily repeat the same sentence or question enough in a few minutes to trigger the warning.
Find a better way to stop spammers.

I am so tired of reporting this bug! Fix it! Every time there is an update, all of my nicknames are deleted! If a player changes from one char to another, there is a chance that my nickname will be deleted!
Since this has bee happening since pre-release day, I have decided that my only recourse is to keep track of everyone on my friends list in notepad. How pathetic is that?

I have repeatedly asked for this option and it would not make botting any easier at all. Theoretically, it would make spamming easier, if I were the foolish type of player who let my account be hacked, but that is all.
Text macros that would let me chain together emotes and other text would be very helpful for RP and other things such as sending all of my friends a greeting or other message or easily repeating text that I constantly type anyway.

There are books, but you read one and then what? There should be some kind of personal library that lists every book you have read and the contents of it. This list should also contain the name of every book you haven’t read, but not the location; you have to find it on your own, or consult the inevitable list that will appear on the web for the lazy people.
