Warriors use Healing signet in PvE?

That healing skill is worthless in PvE because mobs hit very hard, which is healing signet weakness. In PvP, many players are afraid of hitting hard and sacrifice damage for survivability which makes Healing signet strong.

Except … healing signet is incredible for PvE. In fights where you just mitigate damage through dodge and blocks … well it’s just there, and for fights with hard hitting mobs, it gives you plenty of sustain. Look at pretty much any Lupicus solo, all warriors use healing signet. The great thing about it in that fight is if you get hit, it will heal you up like 6k hp before his next major attack, and considering lupine blasts hit for like 8k each, it’s a massive increase in survivability rather than healing surge which is just a small burst heal.

Wrong. Healing signet does not give enough sustain to protect you from hard hitting mobs.

The terrible weakness of healing signet is that when you need a burst healing most, it is not there for you.

Healing signet is no good for survivability. Maybe in a 30/30/30/30/30 build it could be good.

Yes. It’s the highest HPS (debatable dependant on how well you’d use Defiant).

You dodge the harder hitting ones. The little ticks of damage you can’t avoid and the little conditions Healing Signet deals with.

Signet is an amazing way to keep yourself above 90% HP for Scholar runes

So in other words, healing signet is best when warriors are not taking hits at all. Okay.

Those little ticks of damage, usual dungeon mobs hits around 1.5k damage each hit. Add them up over time and it’ll hurt just as much as one very hard hit. Healing signet cannot recover that much with 392 hp/s.

Warrior by a mile. They have been the most played class the last time we got numbers and they only got stronger. No reason to play anything else beside a warrior, unless you get bored.

Oh look, another typical player who thinks Warrior is the best at anything.

Warriors are only useful until both Banner of Discipline and Strength are taken. After that, either pick up more reflections, or a higher damage profession.

But @OP, Warrior is the most used class for the wrong belief they are the best damage (they are not, Thief, Mesmer, Ele and even Guardian are all higher in PvE).

The titel of thread: “PVE most used class”

Which is warrior. Which is the best PVE profession. Which is why you have so many of them. Which is why I posted it.

Let’s look what a base warrior offers:

Highest HP
Highest toughness
Highest armor
Highest mobility
Highest damage
Highest condition removal
Highest weapon swap time
Highest healing without even healing

All at the same time.

It is hard to fail in PvE as a warrior.

Fixed that for you.

Warriors don’t come in with your “u suck, l2p.” Non-warriors don’t come in with your “Healing sig needs 200% narf.”

What I like about healing signet:
-It shows the warrior’s natural toughness that anet envisioned.

What I hate about healing signet:
-When warriors run away they can heal up all the damage I did on them.

My healing signet suggestion:

Healing signet-

  • Passive: Gain regeneration as long as there is an enemy in earshot range(1200 range). 392hp/s regen.
  • Active: Restore 4000 hp.

I would like warriors to stand and fight instead of fleeing. Fleeing is the thief’s job, not the warrior’s.

It also gives a 40 second cooldown if Siamoth doesn’t give you a tuft of feather.

Let me give the conclusion, this is not the solution. It barely works. You might as well just suck it up and use Maul without anything.

These turret fixes will be useless if they haven’t addressed the tendency for them to be insta-destroyed in large groups by the constant use of AOE’s.

In order to fix that problem all pets/summons need a global 90% immunity to AOE damage and the ability to not be autotargeted by single target skills.

They’ll continue to be unwise choices until they are given proper defense.

In large zerg WvW, there is no way that it will need to be fixed.

If you mean sPvP, just spread your turrets out. I spread my turrets to encircle the objective points so that the enemy will aoe me and not the turrets.

Axe/dagger or Axe/focus ?

Axe/Focus, Dagger/Warhorn, and Scepter/Dagger are the best weapon combo for the one-handed weapons that necro has.

Any other combo could work but they are sub-par to these.

Warriors have nothing to complain about. Have you SEEN the offhand axe Ranger skill 5? Thought not. Also, damage-buffing Warriors, whether it would make them OP or not (even though every other profession knows warriors are OP anyway) should be the last thing on the devs’ priorities list right now.

Ranger axe 5 is actually one of the best skills ranger has, considering the massive amount of utility on top of the damage it deals.

MASSIVE UTILITY INDEED. THAT’S WHY SO MANY POWER RANGERS ARE AROUND.

It reflects, grants retaliation, deals aoe damage, and stacks vulnerability. It’s an incredibly useful skill that people like to underestimate.

In PVE it’s fine but in PVP it’s a joke. Just needs to be usable while moving.

Some minor traits are so awful that not only do they don’t help, but it also hurt the player that uses that trait.

  • Last Refuge
  • Reanimator

Those are the common traits that hurt professions, simply by having it. Then there are other minor traits that may hurt builds. Such as Evasive Powder Keg takes me off stealth.

We need the ability to disable minor traits in PvE, PvP, WvW.

That trait kills me very often.

Whenever I try to stealth and get away, the bomb will attack and put me out of stealth. I can’t trait Evasive Powder Keg out.

If that point belongs in another thread, this thread belongs in another game – because all of these skills are part of a single environment, and don’t just exist in a vacuum.

So, in a mesmer forum that is discussing about staff being weak, Should I be disagreeing because Engineer’s turret is very buggy or should I discuss about how strength and weakness of the staff to make my case?

Because that is what the rubbish argument sounds like to me.

My point is your both asking for a buff to a class that dominates PVE, WvW, and PVP while other classes are useless in those areas. Pacer you said you don’t want one of the many warrior weapons to be useless. I’m angry that devs would even consider buffing this while Necros are useless in PVE as a whole. When people ask for stuff on the forums they are asking for development time whether they realize it or not. I’m arguing that before they give any buffs to warriors they should spend more time on other classes that are broken in certain environments. AKA Necros in PVE, Eles in PVP, and Rangers pretty much everywhere.

Just to clarify I’m not saying that axe offhand 5 couldn’t use a buff, but that spending time on that when other classes as a whole are useless and suffer from tons of bugs aren’t worked on first.

Your point belongs in another thread.

This is a discussion about whirling axe, not about other professions.

After looking at the warrior trait page for like ten minutes, I couldn’t really find any traits I wouldn’t like to steal for my ele, which is kind of disturbing, outside of the above.

Seriously though, you don’t point out one of our single worst traits to say we have ways of dealing with a specific condition, especially when you ignore the entire argument.
It’s not about ways to deal with chill, it’s about the fact that chill hurts eles more than any other class by a huge margin.

Not really, it is more like, are you being crippled all the time? Bring Dogged March, or are you being CC all the time? Bring stability.

You say that chill hurts ele in a large margin. I counter that argument with a way to deal with it. So no, I didn’t ignore the entire argument, only you ignored your counter argument to deal with chill.

A 100% bonus would be too huge and you can already do what you wrote.

A bonus around 10-30% would be pretty nice imo.

Logic:
Rangers are hunters with trained pets. Trained pets are trained exactly for hunting which means that pets would logically have an easier time fighting other animals

Suggestion: I was thinking that Pets should get a innate +100% damage(damage numbers can change) vs. player’s summoned allies/phantasm/clones and pets.

Mainly because I want pets not to be a fire and forget option. I would like to see pets as a extension of my right arm, a trusted companion to not fail me. I would like a reason to scout the battlefield and use F1 and then focus onto another target that my pet isn’t attacking. I would like a reason not to see pets as ranger’s missing dps.

Before the major pet damage nerf, I felt that pets were like that to me. I usually send a pet onto a thief and then attack another player. The pet huge dps felt like I can depend on it.

Now, with the complaints of AI all over PvP, maybe pets could be the counter to the AI. As a Ranger, if I see a MM, I can send my pet to kill Flesh Golem or Bone field while I focus on surviving the Necro’s condi/attack or damage down the necro. After that, I can micromanage more to attack other AI or the necro itself.

Please do not discuss off-topic stuff or disagree with this because you think this one suggestion won’t fix ranger 100%. I don’t believe that this will fix rangers 100%, and that is not what I care about. I want pets to feel like something major.

While I think a FFA PvP server is a bad idea, I do have to wonder if a single PvP zone built along those lines might not be worth looking into.

Mind you, I HATE PvP. I can’t stand it. But I don’t mind reasonable suggestions for those that enjoy it, and one zone seems reasonable. Something like the Edge of the Mists, but FFA? Never knowing who you’re going to go up against, and a map designed to make some areas favor certain kinds of builds or classes so that it’s not all one class dominating the entire map?

Sounds reasonable to me. Would enough people enjoy it to make it worth building? I don’t know.

It has been said before, but it’s worth repeating to but this to sleep.
If they tried that, you would see nothing on this forums except complaints about how over powered this or that class is, nerf it. The balance issues would make it a nightmare. The game was/is designed for group play not 1v1. You would either have one class/build dominating the entire server, or just players running around in mini zergs ganking anyone in sight.

You don’t visit profession balance/warrior subforum, do you?

Same way daily gives the option for multiple activities, one of those activities could be “Complete a Cultural Mission”.

You must have missed the multiple threads where people are ‘forced’ to complete the dailies. Someone always finds that things are not ‘optional’.

You missed the part on why the reason players find dailies to feel forced. First, They are the only way to get laurels and they were timegated and account bound. Before Laurels, Dailies weren’t an issue because it gave you small rewards like 5 silver and a jug of karma. Now, the rewards are vertical based.

If Cultural mission doesn’t have time-gated rewards, items being purely cosmetic, or the mission isn’t account bound, then cultural mission will not feel forced. Anet’s reward design is dreadful.

In large scale WvW pugs, I notice that minions don’t die very often if you know where to position yourself. MM are best positioned at the side or somewhere not near groups of players because that is where the AoE will be. Players rarely focuses on minions.

Play a thief, Stealth to each corner while the enemy tries to find you.

Play till they ragequit or afk.

People always use this to deny the players a fun game mode. How about a little research and seeing how world of warcraft deals with this problem? In WoW after 1 min a stealth “buff” pops up on both sides of an arena and the buff gives your team complete stealth detection.

That alone completely prevents stealth griefing in that game and im kitten sure it would work here if we had an arena fight to the death mode

So if Thieves play a defensive build and after one minute, they automatically lose? Okay, I could see how it fits.

Lets try another, Warriors with Sword/Warhorn and GS to run all over the map.

In my opinion, just remove the minor opening strikes trait.

Remorseless: Every 10 seconds, you gain a opening strike. Vulnerable condition last for 3 seconds.

Rangers are not a one-shot one-kill class. They depend entirely only pressure damage.

  • How: Chaos Armor grants Protection, regen and swiftness. Is protection and regen not useful for sustain or swiftness being useful for fleeing? The added bonus of applying conditions to enemies are useful too.
  • When: I use it when I am attacked. Chaos Armor is instant. So I can apply it anytime without having to take up precious time for some other skill. If it had a 3/4 cast time, it would be a bad skill.
  • If you hate randomness, you are playing the wrong class.

Chaos armor has an internal cooldown of 1 second. So it doesn’t matter about super-quick attacks.

Healing signet:

Passive: heals 200hp/sec
Active: heals 400hp/sec for 15 seconds.

Cooldown: 20 second

Great, so the Warrior then traits for reduced signet cooldowns and activates the signet at every opportunity because he has a 2 second window where he isn’t recieving double the health regen of the passive (effectively, he loses 1.5 seconds of the active effect). Bad idea.

The passive, 200hp/sec is worthless.

From beta to buff, Healing signet was always 200hp/sec. No one carried Healing signet except 5 signet leveling warriors, why? Because it sucked, it does not have the sustain to heal them.

People are complaining that healing signet is uninterruptable. Now here is a healing signet version that makes healing signet interruptable.

What do you want? Do you want to delete healing signet and make warriors a free kill?

No, I want a version where the sustain isn’t higher than other skills that actually take effort to maintain the healing on (mainly Signet of Ether and Blood Fiend, being the two most comparable and both, even post 8% HS nerf, still heal for less) while at the same time having an active that is worth using.

Healing Signet could actually take a 33% nerf in its current passive and it would still be higher healing than Blood Fiend, but unlike the Fiend takes absolutely no effort at all to get that healing. Yeah, the Blood Fiend could probably use a buff, but the point remains the same.

At the same time, it needs an active that is worth using. The passive doesn’t need as much of a nerf if the active were ever going to get used, but as it is right now, that’s not going to happen. The active just doesn’t compare with the passive, so there is really no tradeoff. This is a problem with a number of signets in the game: either the active is really good, so the passive doesn’t matter, or the passive far outstrips the active.

What you want:

  • You want to nerf healing signet passive, on a class with very few spammable active defense and very telegraphable CC, to equal to other classes, with much higher spammable active defense and mostly unnoticable CC.
  • You want a active worth using which is basically my healing signet version.

Okay.

BTW if you want to learn how to play go to WvW dueling arena… atleast on my server it’s semi popular. You learn how to play each class by doing so. 1vs1 mostly, it’s the best way to learn. And if warrior is OP then what is the class which defeats Warrior? A god?

Zerk D/P thieves and some Mesmer builds totally wreck 2 of my warrior builds. I usually die to Thieves in about 20-30 seconds, Mesmers usually take longer.

Except Zerk D/P thieves and Mesmers can wreck warriors.

  • D/P has huge burst damage that warriors can’t defend himself from. D/P can spam blind fields, as the warrior get off the blind field, D/P can just leap to stealth.
  • Mesmers can clone away and keep the warrior guessing which one is the real mesmer and then die to all that conditions he has. Not even Cleansing Ire will save him with stacks of condis on him. Mesmers also have a build to burst for huge damage. Blurred Frenzy gives them invulnerability while doing huge damage, it would be nice to walk out like hundred blades but they get an on-demand immobilize on the same weaponset. Try Cleansing Ire your way out of that.

Casual players should have a very mediocre but adequate class. The warrior should be that. Mediocre at everything it does BUT has the ability to use every weapon, wear heavy armor etc. They should be the non-quirky version of an engineer with lots of builds but very little which is best of all classes.

They are the generalist of fighters versus specialists.

So we can have 19 weapon slots? Yes please.

I think that the players should fight their way to the Mystic Forge in LA. Then they can dump all their yellow items to get ripped off.

Staff #4 - unimaginitive?

Add a Block to replace staff 4 is just too OP on a mesmer. Staff already provides tons of sustain with a 6 second teleport alone.

Staff 4 is useful to me and doesn’t need change.

Despite people saying that healing signet is OP. I die more on my hambow than on my Thief, Mesmer, elementalist, engineer, Ranger, Necromancer, Guardian.

I thought healing signet is suppose to make me invincible.

Healing signet:

Passive: heals 200hp/sec
Active: heals 400hp/sec for 15 seconds.

Cooldown: 20 second

Great, so the Warrior then traits for reduced signet cooldowns and activates the signet at every opportunity because he has a 2 second window where he isn’t recieving double the health regen of the passive (effectively, he loses 1.5 seconds of the active effect). Bad idea.

The passive, 200hp/sec is worthless.

From beta to buff, Healing signet was always 200hp/sec. No one carried Healing signet except 5 signet leveling warriors, why? Because it sucked, it does not have the sustain to heal them.

People are complaining that healing signet is uninterruptable. Now here is a healing signet version that makes healing signet interruptable.

What do you want? Do you want to delete healing signet and make warriors a free kill?

That’s the cost of playing passive AI builds. Working as intended.

It’s clearly not working as intended, it’s a bug. If necromancers had a skill that instantly vaporized all mesmer clones, there would be an uproar from the community.

Nope. I’d be fine with Moa Morph destroying my illusions if used on me. It’s a skill that can be blocked, dodged, and has a 180 second cooldown.

Say the class with vigor and blocking.

Darned Western Market and it’s love for crappy tab targeting. I can’t tell you how much I wanted Longbow to play more like this when I first heard about GW2.

Haha I was gonna post some Black Desert beta footage but I figured people would QQ about how OP it is, cuz I’ve seen clips of where it looks like the auto attack has strafe dodging build in for the archer.

And I’m confused about people’s concern over “realism” in class design, cuz little gremlins and people that can create clones are realistic? Do they not realize you can jump and shoot in this game? That’s like the antithesis of realism for a shooter…

Okay, lets give Warriors the ability to fly on their Greatsword that leaves a trail of rainbows with yakety sax music and the enemies are flying pandas from outer space that uses a rainbow friendship cannon because we don’t like realism.

Play a thief, Stealth to each corner while the enemy tries to find you.

Play till they ragequit or afk.

Remove water filter

It is there for realistic purposes to show that our character can’t breathe underwater.

Remove them in PvP please. It is clunky because of bad UI, I often miss the sixth bonus in Raid because of it.

Otherwise, make Water filter be a cosmetic item only like backpacks are.

When I played D/P, I hardly ever use the Stealth combo because whenever I do that, I get knockback, immobilized, or stunned.

They could, I don’t, revamp the elite skill so that they are powerful without the stupid cooldown. You know, just like Guild Wars 1? But I guess Anet rather have those elite skills as “panic buttons” than making them more attracted to all those utility skills.

Except, Elites are terrible as panic buttons except for Renewed focus, Nature spirit, Mass invisibility(Questionable) and Tome of Courage.

Apparently, Stacking is skill. It involves doing minimal work, minimal movement, minimal awareness of surroundings for maximum effect.
