Oh, I didn’t join WvW until near the end and there were three large FA groups that moved independently of each other. I mean, I guess that in itself was pretty impressive, but all of that to take out a rag tag group of us is, well…silly. But if we were still the only organized guild on the map, I bet it still would have worked in your favor.

My worst memory of siege warfare was the 8+ hour siege of our west keep way back when swirling was still a thing. FA definitely knows and loves their siege warfare but I find that to be the most boring aspect of the game. The same types of things still happen today, only not quite as long because of the removal of swirling. I haven’t noticed siege creep because I haven’t spent much time being useful in WvW this week, but seems everyone in Mumble is complaining about how slow you guys take our borderlands. Please use more omegas, thanks!

Gloves = +15 all stats 2 critical damage

Coat = +45 to all stats 6 critical damage

So first off please pardon my ignorance as I haven’t been doing wvw very long, but the maguuma server seems to have some weird ritual of dancing on solo players’ corpses. At this point I’ve witnessed it quite a few (>20) times, with it happening most frequently after a large group (10+) charge me down to try and use me as fertilizer or after I summon a giant useless druid spirit and jump around in circles next to it. I’ve thus become convinced that it’s some sort of initiation rite for maguuma’s guilds, which are apparently akin to gangs, and have been doing it back to try and gain their respect.

Please enlighten a confused tree like thing.

This match is hard to get excited about. I don’t think dorp has done a raid so far, and probably won’t until the week starts.

There’s been a lot of siege fighting which is pretty boring, and finding roamers is really difficult.

I know some mag guilds would like to do gvg’s if any fa/kn are interested.

Was roaming on Kaineng BL tonight and found lots of fights. For the first part I was there for it seemed like duels were happening all over the place. We even had some old school 5 man keep capture!

I like mag, they are tough on the field no matter what guild they are in, strong militia, tc does have some really strong players like NAGA (though I said the same thing when they were on CD), TV guild always brings it, iLL I was hoping to run into some more.

I sure do love “loosing” them battles. But really, our Glass ele’s are rarely our problem. They’re usually among the last to die, and contribute most of our damage/cc, be it hard or soft.

Even outside of GvG.

Especially outside of GvG, I’d say. Most of the time in WvW opposition isn’t as organized as in a GvG so running glass is even easier.

Yeah, the way a frontline works, it has to have a lot of micromanagement. You really have to be a tight ball of CC and Pain, and you need a “point” (commander) to follow for that role. If you get spread out, you’re worthless, and can be picked off.

You guys have a very unique playstyle. It’s very effective, and the standard frontline tactics, we have discovered, just don’t apply against it. Props.

I wish we had another couple weeks against [DERP] and [VR] to figure out the best way to counter it short of either copying it, or having a two-pronged attack. (Two pronged/pincer seems to be the only way to reliably counter it.)

Yes, we are pretty unique since we have a back-/mid-line commander, but that doesn’t meant that it can’t/shouldn’t be replicated. I don’t think everything RG does should be put into a book of law, partly because most of us “lower tier” (lol) guilds just don’t have the same level of coordination/skill.

Honestly, I think playing with more imagination is the best counter. No offense, but the PTV-hammer-train-running-in-a-line meta is an overly simple strategy. I don’t know if that’s what you perceive yourselves as doing, but it’s what we see. People need to experiment with more things and not arbitrarily limit themselves. The fact that many guilds have blanket restrictions on glass makes us/me very sad. It’s definitely not for every individual, but a player that plays glass well will contribute a lot to a fight.

Thanks for the compliment…and I think what they were referring to was the fact that Maguuma was out in force in their own borderlands, but had nothing in the other ones…so not a wise move from the perspective of maximizing server points.

I get that though, you’re not going to win the match as a whole, because we outnumber you by a lot, so may as well try to consolidate into one BL and make your own play experience fun. I’ve enjoyed this, by the way, makes for much more challenging fights, and I just queue up for whichever server seems to have an enemy to fight on it, and leave the rest.

I’m not a fan of the uneven matchups myself, and hopefully there will be some incentive from ANet to encourage guilds to migrate to lower population servers, so that we can all enjoy some balanced fights that are more about skill than numbers.

Honestly I think they’re spawn camping to help upgrades go by faster so they can leave. Or maybe not, I’m not in game right now :v

I don’t personally care about this. We’re winning by a lot, and spawncamping only lasts till we break through. Just wanted to point out that Mag is making a coordinated effort at spawncamping. So if anyone has an issue with a handful of TC people doing the same…well maybe you should start working on your own server first. We’ll try to do likewise.

This is an interesting viewpoint, imho. Out of the guild groups that I’ve seen this week, only D!ERP and PYRO stick out in my mind as really challenging from Mags. I’m sure a large part of the “we own most of everything” during NA prime could be explained by a discussion on server population, but outside of the two guilds I’ve mentioned, haven’t seen much from Mags during NA that was particularly noteworthy.

It would appear that our experiences this week have been very different, as I don’t think the current matchup has exposed any flaws in our NA at all.

I think ME hadn’t done any groups since Rekka was on vacation, or you would probably like them too. Dunno how much you’ve seen of RP (smaller group) or VR but they’re also both good. In fact some TC were more impressed by VR than us, sooo. We have a lot of good, organized groups (some of which may not have been mentioned), but they don’t/can’t come out in force every day.

Just to be clear, GOAT left a server that is not only continually winning, but growing by the week. We didn’t move because we finally wanted to win, we moved because we wanted to contribute. We wanted a server that values skill over numbers and the needs of the server over the egos of a few. We aren’t huge—we rolled 23 at reset—but we are enthusiastic and felt that Maguuma fit our play style and could absorb our small guild into their server without any issues. We’re keeping a low profile while we figure out our place in the established order. To bash Maguuma because GOAT transferred is just silly. We’re still trying to learn the jargon.

Tiers mean nothing anymore. There will be no meteoric bandwagon rise, like Kaineng’s, in the future. Crying ‘bandwagon’ just makes you sound quaint. Expect a lot of volatility over the next week as guilds find their fit. People will shift to where they are having the most fun. Leaving a winning server because the way they won just wasn’t fun made sense to us.

No offense, but the only way you can be considered a “non-bandwagon transfer” is if you transfer to a lower ranked server. BP is ranked 13 while Mag is ranked 7. By going to Mag you guys increased your personal chances of winning, all other things being equal. Hence by definition you guys are, indeed, bandwagoning.

And if you look back, this conversation started when some dude from Maguuma have the nerve to accused me of bandwagoning. Yeah sure, as if Maguuma never got any bandwagoners. If you look at Maguuma’s history, you will know they also got a ton of transfers back then, just before the end of free transfers. Magumma is full of bandwagoners too.

If people want to call people like me a bandwagoner, they have to accept the fact that they themselves is playing alongside many other bandwagoners in their own server. There is no way around it.

If you guys want respect here, please do not post on forums like the rest of Maguuma. They love to use double standards and never show any respect for anyone. Maguuma is the #1 most hated server (on the forums) for good reasons.

I think we all need to read up on what bandwagoning actually means. By the way, you’re calling yourself a bandwagoner by your own (bad) definition, so I don’t see why you could possibly get mad at someone else calling you one. Double standards, indeed!
