i agree with what you guys say here the good the bad.
my personal exp is more that of wvw ranger roaming i have no problem with my pet well he is a bit slow at time :p.
my biggest problem in running in the zerg i play frontline ,backline, midline
yes play all tree roles believe or not. thing i noticed al this years ranger had ZERO love in group play in wvw. pets die within 3 sec because of aoe unless backline.
midline even swapping pets say byebye front line say byebye anyway. pets ore 100% useless when becomes to wvw it is a handicap. solutions i have none i am not a dev.
but letting the pet share your health and toughness and power and crit maybe
just simply let the pet share the hp of its master becomes pet and are supposed to be one.
or give us the option like mesmer have meaning let us be the pet it self let us use skill of the pet as it was our own that f2 doesn’t start from the pet but from the ranger instead. shrugs The game is 2 + years old.. it is reasonable to now merge the servers.
i am sorry can’t agree with this don’t you any server pride? i am vet on fsp. fsp was 1 place in the beginning. dropped hard and got back up. merging server will crush the servers pride. wvw is not broken its need more attention from anet. make tournaments tickets a weekly reward. make unique rewards in the form weps and armor and back pieces. sure we have the 2 of the 3 i mentioned but more frequent update wouldn’t hurt. as for eotm the basic idea was great but with current state of wvw its a joke map. remove aces to eotm until each map has a Q then make eotm available for play to players. current eotm doesn’t help your home-server its karma farm map and free kill maps for organized groups. also does emp grenades now as disablers should have been tested first i had 20 and tower 40 supp disabler use 10 supps how many times you think i disabled their rams and carat ? new siege to counter the disabler like shield wall or bubble around the rams wouldn’t hurt.(i use cata from time to time but i am think for more permanent bubble for those disablers)
or those sentry from eotm would be good in current wvw. anet need to update and listen bit more to their wvw core members. do little more update on wvw. because this is indeed 2y old. and indeed missing what has been said on these forum so far expansion new prof new weps to prof more skills and etc. hopefully my eng didn’t suck to much.
to be honest i like it and i don’t use it often. let me elborate in pve i don’t mind in a duel.
i use it to hit air fighting a thief if the chains start i know the thief is there. you do that with the other class. fighting a ranger that is pewing pewing from distance no problemo target ranger hit the pet leap to the ranger. i gues how use sword i noticed in duel i only the sword for that and when everything is on cd mostly i swap weps everything is on cd. i am edit is when i got bit more time :p
i like this trait i really do but i was thinking combined with empathic bond or survival of the fittest or even both. it has no use i mean for example i am suffering bleed poison and weakness
when lets say empathic kicks it removes those 3 right? so if i suffer from chill next . my trait would have been canceled .
i don’t know if you guys get what i am tying to say can’t really explain it well. i rather have evasive purity remove a 2 condi instead of 2 specific ones.
having specfic condi removed every 10 sec with empathic bond i don’t know. if i thinking it over its kinda strange. i have been using evasive for while now and fight condi necros is always a pain the kitten because my condi removal can’t keep up. and always asking myself did just got 3 condis removed or 4 or 5. my eng kinda sucks hopefully some one gets what i am mean. it looks to me that evasive sometimes isn’t used because empathic removes 3 and if 1 of the condis happens to be poison or blind the trait is kinda wasted.
yep yep habit picked up fighting pew ranger, mesmer, ele ,etc only use the fire field to get the shield. might stacking isn’t really good :p did a lot of test with might stacking build yes it does more dmg but overall i prefer krait runes i don’t try might stacking is only fire shield because when he hits me it burns him so what i do is leap back bonfire leap in. because if i do bonfire leap out leap in when he moves i will miss the fire field . still working on that tactic :p what i somtimes try to do if cd allows me is immobilize then bonfire but yeah most of time il just focus getting the shield up .
i tried this build strength runes and if you run full apo with undead dmg is about the same. undead runes are cheaper fyi but up to your personal preferences. (i am going for the same runes as you use now see what happens) might stacking with those runes should last longer.
its more an alternative more people who want do try something new this build has cc.
and cc is somthing want i want ranger to use more often. i had this conversation count less time if ranger and guard are in the same group don’t run roa run entangle. traps are to be used for there cc and condi pressure the condis here pretty much spammable . condis don’t work on zerg pls why is the we put down – 40% condi duration. condition how little they might are still pain in the kitten secondly if the zeg use up there condi removal too fast other cc lets call the normal zerg cc will apply beter a zerg it like soup you need a bit everything to make it work. but then again i made build for zerging and roaming. i personally use something else on daily basis and use this if want to play something else.
this is condi build gs makes no sense here. the sword can be used to kite not as dmg wep.
you got leaps on sword (first fase isn’t real a leap i know). also kootje if you are on fsp :p you know i don’t use this for zerging.
its more meant for ganking and tagging its has decent cc you wanne kill the last slacker good use frost traps and immobilize so your allies can kill them . not good for 15+ plz tell me why ? every build has a purpose this purpose was cc with al the skills you can keep putting condi pressure on? play the way you want it fin out for yourself if good or not.
is see many zerkers :p trapper still to few that i posed my build on this forum. a ranger trapper in a zerg lets 4 ranger trapper can make a big difference i hope to see more of them soon. remember traps can’t be seen by the enemy
i am rdy to dance whenever you want man i am on fsp. pm me whenever i never liked the zerker bs anyway played it made a build for it even a vid for it. but it does suit me mellee ranger for life. its true you can’t catch thief with condi regen it never bothered me why you ask there is nothing so nicer then have fight ling period of time one mistake on condi regen your done against a thief. samething ele can take very long but those are the fight enjoy the most.
it is fun to play its decent for roaming can be used in zerg use cc traps meaning (frost and spike ) weps in zerging axe for fight torch for blasting might in zerging. sword/torch can be used as well . anyway use whatever weps you like do fit your play style.

the bleeding is just something i choose on purpose as i didn’t really used pet i was up the hill etc to snipe targets.
having the pet run faster wouldn’t make sense for me maybe for pve but for wvw i picked up the bleeding. anyway that trait slot is up to you to fill.
as this doesn’t really alter the raw dmg of the build at all. this build has been used both in zerging and roaming (played as a caster just sniping targets etc) can also be used in pve or even pvp. once more i dislike zerker and yes mostly play wvw. thursday il will make a new threat with a new build. side-note tbh i never used zerker the first year i played in gw2 i played pvt with zerker trinkets in pve and as said above its up to your personal preference.

Ranger is in a pretty bad spot at the momment every other class has been reworked or buffed and the ranger still just has gotten nerfs or stayed the same.
Honeatly that’s a cool idea but I don’t think it’s GM worthy. We don’t realy care about projectiles with oir 1500 range and point blank shot we can handle other projectiles users just fine. Our top concern is melee.
We can’t realy do anything against a thief or a guardian teleporting in our face, and strider’s defense should adress that issue.
Something like “gain protection and retaliation as long as you attack in melee” or “gain aegis after you dodge” or maybe even both.
frontline ranger could use this i am planning to test it out. we are not all pew pew rangers plz keep that in mind
Maybe you should go to warrior forum and tell them to throw away their bows or their rifles. I love doing melee with sword and horn, but what this guy is preaching is bs.

thats what i meant to say. mellee ranger whatever you like or not in wvw is more effecient then rooted bear bow. that is dieing because he get retal becaus he used barrage or get ganked by thief because he a squishy kitten. thats for the zerging part for roaming part regen/tak/condi doesn’t use bow either. i don’t mind us using a bow but i get kittened of when people don’t swap to their sword or gs when foe comes at you. theirs a time for pew pew and there time to maul like a bear.

for while and i see that most of you are finally dropping your bows and swapping to mellee.
this makes me happy even on fsp when i am comanding (as ranger) i see other picking up their gs in stead of bow and leaping with me trhough the our foes

can we consider it possible that pet health can be alined with ours make pets is invulnerable and + some additional ai and quicker skill response. meaning that pet will only die if the ranger does because they are bounded to each other. so in a way don’t make pet a tool but make it a true part of us. we die pet dies only to kill pet is to kill the ranger behind the pet.
I resent the fact that ANet views Ranger as “the pet class”.
it would be entirely unproblematic if they were willing to make the pets work, at whatever the cost.

Anet messed up big time from the drawing board with this class, and now they have very few choices of actually fixing our class mechanic….
Devs have already stated pets are broken, yet for some reason, anet wants to continue around this “pet” mechanic….. I’m not exactly sure what kind of logic this is
You pubicly state that pets are a mess and completely broken, yet you want us rangers to suffer by saying “stick with this broken pet” we can’t do anything!!

Seriously, if you can’t fix it, dump the pet. its utterly useless right now in 95% of the game. No amount of change unless it starts with the core mechanic will change that percentage, and everyone in this forum knows that this type of change WILL NOT happen.
I don’t understand why you are being so hesitant about trying to fix something you have already stated that cannot be fixed because you don’t have the resources to do so… stop wasting all the poor players time that play this broken class and let us know what you are really up to please
