I would hope so, but not sure if Anet cares enough.
I’m sorry OP, but you’re right. You have to essentially buy the game again.
As an incentive to buy HoT, Anet nerfed many thing from vanilla or gated them behind HoT. And the new elite specs are very powerful.
Instead of nerfing mesmer, they should give some buffs to thief. That seems to be the real problem here.
Anet promised to make skill changes only quarterly.
Mesmer is very mobile (second maybe only to thief), good in PvP, great in PvE, and every raid group I heard of takes at least one.
It takes some skill, but imo easier than ele who has to manage 4 attunements.
Though mesmer gets the full potential only in the later levels, and especially with the elite spec chronomancer.
Ele is quite awesome even while leveling.
Still bugged? oO
I want to do LS2 with my second char, but I better wait until it’s possible then.
So you say 2nd boss is back to zerk meta, as condis are too slow?
If you want the meta event every hour, having 20 min preparation time would make all other events hard to fit in. With 20 min of gerent fighting, only 20 min would remain for the regular events.
Unless Anet abandons the fixed meta schedule.
Imo, a schedule like SW would be nice, so players can choose whether they want to do events or meta.
As Anet will probably add masteries regularly, it’s hard that the cap is always a “nice round number”.
Having to swap masteries around would imo make them even more obnoxious. Atm when you maxed what you want, you can forget about masteries.
Some people still do dungeons for fun, but a lot fewer by cause of reward nerf.
And nowadays many of these people are busy trying the raid.
If you just want the dungeon tokens, you could also do PvP.
Nowadays people demand that there should be no nerf, before anybody even demands a nerf? xD
Umm, why do some people want out weed out the casuals from GW2? xD
Such an artificial and thoughtless way of increasing the difficulty of a raid. If the timer is still shortened by 2 minutes, and you’re completing it with 3 minutes remaining, this doesn’t do a single thing to make things more difficult for yourself.
Why should OP want to make things more difficult for himself?
He just wants to screw the players not as elite as him xD
Note that until rank 10, you are forced to do stronghold (except in hot-join).
Lol so maybe you kittened Anet on the forums, and that’s the result xD
i have to say, i am quite shocked bc of the prices right now. guess i got my reality check, when i was pondering the use of coni warriors – and i researched what was needed to lets say get an ascended viper set. NOW i dont see the lack of condi dps in raids as a coincidence! This will cost you around 1500g for the armor set alone…i just cant…
seems like i will stay zerker, i am glad i dont play condi classes which now are effed bc viper is a straight up better condi stat than anything before and i guess its kind of a gear treadmill. not gear itself but the new prefixes which get more and more stats and are nondebational just better.
While im at it, i find it disturbingly annoying that the new stats are gated behind more and more grind and mats than ealier versions. why cant it be like in the old days, where we buy the recipes at the vendor and be done with it. but now getting a optimal viper/sinister set? farm season 2 living story achievments for 2 weeks to get the trinkets, throw 2000g at the tp, farm meta event maps for the exotic AND asc insignia/insrcription for another 2 weeks. gone are the days where i could try out new builds on a fly with only mats and gold needed…
/rant
Don’t forget that you can reforge ascended equipment.
They wanted to make leather more demanded. Unfortunately they primarily increased the mats required to make ascended, and thus it’s obviously more costly.
Also raids and the new fractals increased the demand for acended equip considerably, increasing the cost even more. While at the same rate, ascended drops in fractals were nerfed.
It should normalize a bit at least, when the players wanting to raid have all gear they need. Though you should expect another spike when a new raid wing/new fractals are released.
Seems Anet got confused by their own stat naming.
500-0 seems like a pretty big matchmaking fail. I mean, really…
Not sure what you mean about being matched with lower rank players, as the lower rank players turned out to be stronger?
Matchmaking primarily is about skill; rank is only relevant for players with very few played matches.
Most likely no.
I had a lot of trust in Anet before HoT came out and prepurchased it immediately. Sadly, not anymore.
Anet would need to work very hard to regain my trust.
this confirms how broken Mesmers are
Survives all that trap + DH nukes still can fight back and run away loooool
Nerf mesmer, as any class that has a chance against DH is obviously ridiculously OP xD
Has there been any success of TD that was not organized by a specialized guild?
And do specialized guilds have anything close to 100% success rate?
If not, TD might be even harder than raids. People motivated enough to try TD would rather try the raid, making TD meta emptier, and even less likely to succeed.
Then keep legendary armor in the current raid, and make the rest available in an easy mode raid.
In the past, Anet listened to many complaints. Atm not so much anymore, but still a bit.
They will improve the fracral rewards. They made more items depositable. Also, they nerfed druid and removed minstrel amulet in PvP.
I just got 20 minutes for missing a queue check. I don’t know how many I have got, but what’s the problem with missing a queue check? Am I supposed to leave queue if I have to leave my pc for a minute? That makes no sense. If I have to leave queue that makes everyone’s queue times just as long as if I missed it, even longer if I make it back in time to hit OK. This is next level STUPID!
If you leave the queue, 9 other people will have to essentially restart their queue, as a new matchup must be found.
If you leave the PC for more than 15-30 sec, you need to leave the queue, as otherwise this will affect the experience of other players in a very bad way.
Imo, dishonor is justified in that case, though 20min seems a bit long to me, too.
That is BS. Im not going to leave my queue to run upstairs to get something to drink. They need to figure something else out. Giving someone “dishonor” for 20 minutes on top of it isn’t helping the queue times for anyone.
If you don’t see the problem, I don’t see the problem that you get 20 min dishonor.
The dishonor system has exactly been introduced to punish selfish actions like yours.

Apart from the extremely hard meta, and taking 2+ hours to find where is what, tangled depth is a pretty awesome map.
Afaik, Tier 4 day means all events completed (easily doable, if every event chain has people).
For Tier 4 night you have some slack. You still get it if you fail ~5 rally points (out of 15), but do all the bosses (which is easy if ppl communicate on boss hp%).
The hard part is really to distribute the people to defend the 15 rally points, as people tend to clump to zergs/coms. One rally point is easily defended with 4 people, some are also solo defensible, depending on skill/build.
The only special reward I know of is the bladed coat box for T4 night. Got it 5 out of 5 times we reached T4, with participation between 75% and 200%.

Yes, plase.
It wouldn’t devaluate the achievement of elitists (as they would do the super mythic heroic raid version, whose legendary armor would be extra shiny), but it would make raids accessible to a much greater audience.
I’d be interested in arguments why this would be a bad idea, as I don’t see any right now.
Edit: Saying that then every noob can beat raids in kitten gear doesn’t count, as they only beat a noob version of the raid.
The “real” raid should be what counts for “real” raiders.

After maxing masteries, your XP is for the birds (or for the cat, if you’re German)
Honorary Skritt ftw!
At least they changed the time limit from 4mins to 10mins, so technically, most are soloable without great dps.
I suppose in the future, you will have to pay gold for ppl to help you with the more distant HPs.
If a person is playing 30 hours of Guild Wars 2 a night […]
Most people raiding right now are putting that many hours a night into just the first boss.
Made my day
I don’t think she did more things than Zojja (after all she’s still a kid, and didn’t have that much time to do things).
I think she might well turn out to be smarter than Zojja. And also, she’s less of a kitten.
Will Anet address any of the issues being asked on these forums regarding WvW?
Yes, they will.
But we don’t known when, and you might not like how they resolve the issues.
I’m fully aware of that. I chose to take the risk. But the dev post says “30 days since the last post” and this thread had the last post 29 days before mine, so it should be fine!
Good point!
I see why you had to act now
That’s exactly the answer I wanted to hear
Please keep posting reasons that make GW2 special, as I and OP have apparently forgotten about them.
Sooo… After answering to all this I am thinking. What in the world does this have to do with anything OP even said? It was about the Raid being to complex for casuals who want’s to play their Build in a PUG and being succsessfull. Well Raids is the only content in GW2 that is made to make the Elitists happy. We casuals can do everything else in the game.
I would be happy if everything but the raids were casual friendly.
But as I see it, the raids are just the pinnacle of gating most things of HoT behind organized groups, or at least requiring a long time commitment.
GW2 having no raids was one reason I liked it so much, and I woldn’t even care so much about them anyway. But together with all other changes, and the direction GW2 seems to take now, it really starts to feel like other MMOs (e.g. WoW).
I suppose the point of OP and this thread is to discuss what GW2 still distinguishes from other MMOs.
Forums are filled with compaining because for some ppl (including me) complaining on the forums is more fun than playing GW2 atm
The players help players section doesnt’t have much complaining, though. So look there to give and ask for advice

Enraged 200%dmg, HOT event farming, raid equipment checking , condi dmg new meta . Equipment races for raid as the second raid boss you may have to wear full tank, the third boss need full healing build , etc.
What’s the different between gw2 and WOW now?
Anet should remember whats make gw2 better than WOW. If they fix the mistake , more and more players will leave the game. They should just let the casual players zerk down the boss with exotic equipment only. So…you are talking about the Raid like it’s the only thing in the game…that’s a small part of it…You can still do everything else like before…
No, you can’t.
Yes, you can.
Dungeons were nerfed, fractals were nerfed, WvW was nerfed, EoTM was nerfed, small guilds were nerfed. PvP is imbalanced, as Anet balanced elite specs around raids.
And VB is harder because of the afk raiders. And the rest of HoT has less population.
Clearly you can’t do everything else like before.
So dedicated progamers took 35 hours in 3 days to clear it, that is around 11:20 hours each day. Makes me a litte lost for words for various reasons. But anyway, congratulations for the rewards of your effort anyway.
In other MMOs, pro raiders are expected to raid 18 hours per day on release
Lol thanks for necro, a moment I thought the devs posted something.

No, you can’t.
The only difference I see is that the level cap remains unchanged, and ascended remains best equip
Except for pugs that just want to try the raid without any hope of success. But these groups have given up already.
Have to call BS on this one too, your soooooo cheerful it’s heart warming.
I hope you’re right, but I’m not feeling very optimistic right now
The solution sounds simple enough to me. Make a group to do raids that takes in anyone, doesn’t matter what gear they’re wearing, and go do the raids. I bet you’d get lots of people signing up and both you and the gear check people will never encounter each other and both sides will be happy.
Too bad that you won’t get very far with that setup.
Has been suggested countless times, but it seems raid pugs are not a priority of Anet atm.
Nobody will take you for raids if you don’t have meta equipment. This includes full ascended with viper stats, proper runes and sigils, and food and utility buff.
Except for pugs that just want to try the raid without any hope of success. But these groups have given up already.
The next step in the great plan to convert WvW Players to sPvP
Anet works hard to make sPvP the fastest growing part of the game.
