Except mesmers can deal tons of damage while hiding in stealth. Thieves have to reveal themselves, but a mesmer can have the clones up dealing damage the whole time they are hiding.

Until traveler runes were release, now it’s a blink away to reset, maybe a staff 2 on a mob behind you for the extra blink if needed.

Or if chasing then blink, staff 2 on mob behind you then switch to sword 3 and immobolize

Hi, I am one of the leaders of RUN, would like to say a few things.

1. It’s not an exploit or anything else other people think it is, just a matter of siege placement. No one ever complains that the same rams can hit outer and inner gate of blue keep in EB if they are placed right but they can’t do that at any other keep, it just comes down to siege placement and the way the game was designed and how the maps were created.

2. Fight open field? We are not a zergy guild, we are a guild compiled of solo roamers and PvP people with a roster of 30 people that are on IOJ with maybe 6 at the most we can get online at the same time on the same server, so please forgive us if we choose not to fight 5ish v zerg. So you’re right, we won’t and know we won’t beat you open field when you hug tripple to more the numbers in safety

I myself have been trying out PVT mesmer roaming, straying from my normal ranger and so far I have found some good fights, but trust me buddy, out of all of HoD there have been maybe 4 people at most I have seen with the balls to solo roam and actually be anything worth of a thought, I have called out 1 of them here already. Oddly enough they were [MU] for the most part.

As an ex-GoM member who was there last year in the never ending match ups with you guys against DH when they would own all maps all day, back then you guys were nothing short of respectful and always looking for fun, but looking at HoD as a whole now all I have personally seen is you guys trash 1 guild after another and in game zerg 3 people then /laugh and /sit/sit/sit.

Please get back to having fun, I know moderators and devs have annoyed us all and turned us towards other games but don’t be apart of the reason why we see less and less people play everyday, especially if you realize the only thing that is keeping this game alive is communities.

When a warrior turns into Forrest Gump I spam /laugh, almost everytime the ego gets to em and they come back to die.

As for thief, I run a PVT/valk mesmer so they are just an annoyance, they get their back stab, realize they didnt even take 10% of my health then run, no biggie though cause I’m out there roaming for the good fights and not the loot bags.

As a roamer to other roamers on the thread, think of how many people you didn’t stomp just cause it was a great fight.

Nah I got dropped by 5 maybe 6 of you at a sentry then jumped on so I just logged, I don’t care that I died it happens while solo roaming but guilds like that remind me that it’s not worth roaming anymore in anything less than a zerg.

Well, there was a previous matchup where some people from [RUN] spam laughed a few people they killed that they outnumbered. Typically speaking, these things happen on both sides.

So, if you weren’t there when your side did it then you think they are just being kittens.

I’ll be sure to look into that but I think it might have been some of the 7 or so people we kicked in the last few weeks for emoting instead of regrouping.

Out of curiosity, why do DB have 5-7 people guard a sentry from 1 person when the whole map is green anyway? I mean you guys won and all so I don’t see why it’s so important that you guys keep every sentry and every camp, wouldn’t it be more beneficial to do what every other server does at this stage of the week and wait for atleast a camp to flip?

Nah, I tried commanding in Eb and basically it’s a witch hunt lol, flip a few things and before you know it you got blob chasing you around the map and you gotta do silly things like run into duri to port then quickly flip mends before they catch on you’re not hiding in the tower lol

Well, was fun for a bit but when DB sends a 50 man blob to reclaim golanta off 5 of us then I see why there is a severe lack of roamers nowa days.
Ahwell. Make more golems, “earn” more karma, smash 1 harder, “earn” more loot.

I agree about removing gold and karma from buying upgrades.

Only suggestion I can think of though is to make it a bit more co-op for all players and maybe remove yaks all together and have people themselves pick up supplies from a camp and have to chose between taking it with them or running to a tower and putting supplies into the towers, obviously remake some camp upgrades but it would mean a lot more team work would be needed and could involve some very nice clutch tactics where a zerg drops that last 30 supplies into a tower for an upgrade to finish essentially reinforcing the tower and repairing everything again.

…. Although, everyone uses 5+ omegas on paper towers anyway so probably won’t accomplish much.

Well we just lost our garrison and map to DB being outnumbered by 3 times the amount but lots of respect to DB for actually making a decent siege out of it instead of the usual omega golems, kept us on toes all night especially your dedicated keep tappers

Why do people always dis out the ranger for being bad?

Stahp thinking rangers are archers, love the ranger a little and work on it and discover it’s potential. Zergs, amazing! Small group work 5-10, Amazing! Solo/duo roaming, the best!

I agree with the OP, the classes are balanced, just because you find one class easier to play than another for the same result does not mean it’s unbalanced or OP/UP.

My experience with ranger as a generalization of majority I have come across:

Ranger > Warrior – poison uptime.
Ranger < Engineer – Dunno man, some engies are just a pain.
Ranger / Ranger – Skills/builds
Ranger > Guardian – Only so much MOST guardians can do
Ranger / Necro – Goes ether way depending on necro skills
Ranger > Thief – Thieves become easier and easier to kill every patch
ranger < Mesmer – Dem clones yo and PU ….
Ranger > Ele – Most ele’s are….. Bad. The good ones tho are strait up amazing.

Was a great match up this week, nothing but respect to FC and DH for the quality of roamers, and super mad respect to DH as a server for their awsome priorities on defense!

Giving a shout-out to [RUN] as well for their brutal, vicious defense of dolyaks and camps in IoJ BL just now. You folks deserve a pat on the back for the service to your server during the upgrade process. Not everyone takes the boring job willingly, but defending dolyaks is a crucial process and anyone who does so is worthy of my respect.

The amount of persistence you guys showed to halt our upgrade process earned a fair bit of respect towards you guys aswell, even the little things like constantly sniping yaks on us is a huge pain to deal with when trying to get everything fortified before logging off

But remember, it’s all the more important not to start doing the same thing once you beat them. Revenge often comes at the price of loosing your own dignity by repeating their mistakes.
Even if they emotespam you, don’t get down on that level. Keep your head in the game and respect the other team (especially since most of their server AND their guild don’t do that stuff).

Oh I made a game from it instead, 1g per [Nova] spike and 2g per [Nova] ele and the bounty was active for 3 hours, ended up paying just over 30g in the end but even my guildies had a blast from it which is all the matters to me,

Was about to explain what Moosey said due to it being one of my favorite cata spots for WvW, it’s also an easily defend-able spot with an AC and due to the height advantage it can provide great ways to defend against x3 the numbers.

I really wish we were losing this match up so I could PvF myself to sleep, I hate forum warring when I’m on the winning side it seems so petty and what’s worse is that everyone I’ve partied with from DH and FC seem to be really cool dudes so far, only bad thing I can say about this match up is, stop taking my upgraded camps!

Keep it up everyone and good to see so many fighting it out from FC and DH especially to the roamers I’ve met on my travels (charr mesmer)
