Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a bug in which the pirate in Crusader Xutt’s escort event would perpetually remain in the game, causing the escort to stall on all future attempts.

From what I recall it has always happened to me every time I open TP. It always have frozen game for 1 or 2 secs so I even have thought it’s a “normal” behavior (given that TP uses a external application to work [awesomium.exe]).

I had read this thread before but I never said anything as it hadn’t happened to me… so far.

Yesterday while in a fighting with Champion Troll at Frostgorge Sound I got stuck in a wall after using Phase Retreat. At some point I was facing it and with my back toward a wall and then, literally in a blink of eyes (yes, I literally blinked and when I saw that it had happened), I got stuck.

The pics show what happened, the surrounds even would vanish depending on the camera angle. The 2nd pic even shows a part of the wall and my mini floating on air, as if trying to go ahead but began to climb up.

I only could get off there using Waypoints, not even Teleport or the own Phase Retreat while facing the opposite direction did the trick. As result… I missed the chest dropped by that mob

Yeah, the search box on the top of each thread pages seems be not working for “who knows what” reason, but I have seen that the search box on the home seems be working. You can try the search box on https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum .

Edit: Yeah nevermind, it seems not work when more than one word is used and doesn’t bring up all results :P

Even though there haven’t been any answers to this thread I’m going to update it myself. After the patch on 18th Jan this event seems be back to normal. There was another event on that map also bugged when I started this thread. The “cows event” just near the map entrance from Black Citadel (this one was reported via in-game report). But now both events are back to normal and this thread can be closed if needed.

I got feared so long on the 2nd Claw Island that when I get to the dragon I go afk and let the npc’s kill it on my alt’s.

Yeah Ikr! That was the part I was talking about… it kept targeting risens all over the place (some even feet away from me) instead that big dragon a few steps from me… (aren’t we spoiling here, are we?)

Joking aside………Not one reply from Anet Would be nice to know if they consider this a big enough issue that deserves attention.

Yes, even a simple “Hey, we have acknowledged it and we are studying/considering it.” would be great…

You know the targeting system is whack when you stand a couple of inches away from a 30 foot tall dragon and it wont cycle to it.

Yeah, so true… I had that hard time when doing a personal story at Claw Island…

Recently I went through some hard time with targeting (again) during Claw of Jormag. I lost the target for a little as I turned and clicked something else for a few and then when I tried to select the claw again it took me a few tries to get it. Clicking didn’t work and using Tab required me to press it about 4 or 5 times.

Yes, I see it’s still working as before. I just was wondering if it would need some kind of tweaking after the changes to the traits.

Before I tried to use this build I already had all my set with Runes of Lyssa, so I didn’t want to waste it and get a new set. Luckily it has been working nicely along with elite and Signet of Inspiration, plus the effect from Chocoloate Omnoberry Cream that extends the boons duration.

In fact, I’m more into PvE and I haven’t tried PvP and WvW yet, so I’m using it more for PvE yes. Also, I’m not that good when it comes to melee and I get easy overwhelmed in a crowded fight, so I usually stay ranged and giving some support. I could say I try to bring support by trying to keep them alive (so using Illusion of Life) and giving them some strength. I like teamwork and help as I can.

Sorry for forgetting to mention my traits, I’m using 0/10/30/30/0 with Dueling II, Chaos V, VIII and X, Inspiration III, VIII, XI. And yes, I know that trait all at once couldn’t work.

Also, could someone give me some clue about what Signet of Illusions stands for in this? I couldn’t figure out when to use it and what’s its role in this build.

Yes, I was even wondering how this build could work now with the changes to the traits and with the new healing skill. I have based my build on this one although not doing exactly as it was told. I’m taking advantage of my runes as all my armor already had Runes of Lyssa (6 runes in total so it gives me all boons when using Elite) so I use Mass Invisibility along with Signet of Inspiration to pass them to allies. My traits was set as said in here but now I’m unsure if I should change it due the latest changes.

Sometimes I feel I’m missing something as there is moments I feel I’m not giving properly support. I also use Illusion of Life when doing group events so I can quickly revive downed allies when they are hard to reach. I can’t recall why I don’t use Veil but I do use Phantasmal Disenchanter, then I have one more clone and it removes boons from mobs.

I still have not understood what Signet of Illusions would be used for, so I use other skil in that slot.

Does someone have some suggestion about how this build would work with the new changes to traits? Also, am I doing some mistake here?

I also have been had issues like that too since the last patch, that coincidently came out when I replaced my graphic card. My systems is like yours, only graphic card is different, it’s a GeForce GTX 650. But occasionally I have texture issues, like not loading at times, windows without a background, no ground or buildings around… I’m still trying to figure out what’s wrong and tweaking my settings to see if I can solve or lessen it.

Yes, from what I recall the first WP you find on a new map is unlocked automatically, no notices or XPs are gained. That way, some ppl can gain XPs from a WP “X” when it’s not the first one they find on the map (like entering the map through the other side) while others can’t as it could be their first. I also thought it weird at first but then I realized that maybe it must be as “it works”.

I remember it has been reported a few weeks ago, I think it become clearer after the last patch. For me it usually happens after leaving an instance, a PvP activity like Sanctum Sprint or after passing by Lion’s Arch.

To tell an example: I would go to Lion’s Arch and do an activity through those NPCs (even the Wintersday ones) and then after I’m done with it I leave that instance. During the LA’s loading screen a battle sound starts and stays even after it’s already loaded. If I go to another map a few secs later, another battle sound plays during the loading screen and even another one starts after map loaded.

But it has happened even when not doing activity or instances, just by going to LA and going to another map triggers it.

It’s NOT my connection, i have NO issue anywhere else in the game. No disconnects or anything. I have been using the same connection for a long time without any issue.

Yes, I know that. I was just trying some troubleshooting and who knows we could get some insight on it.

As I said, I believe that TP uses a thirdy-party component so it doesn’t connects to the same server that the game uses to render the world, so I was just supposing that something (either on your side or your ISP side maybe) could be blocking “that” server specifically and not blocking the one in charge of loading the world, if you get what I mean. In fact, it’s just theory and a “shoot in the dark” but even so still valid.

Which kind of connection are you on? Are you behind a proxy or something? Are you connected directly to internet (meaning there’s nothing between your computer and the device used by your ISP, like modems, routers or whatever) or are you within some network with shared internet connection?

I suspect something may be blocking specifically the server that deals with TP (that I believe is a different one than the one used to manage the game’s world). Later I’ll try to track down to which server the game connects when using TP and then I could try to suggest some more precise test.

I had a issue once that only parts of a game weren’t working, later I figured out there was kind of a limit at my ISP.

A thing I have learned when trying to troubleshoot issues with computers.. the more odd and complicated a issue, more unexpected is the cause. I mean that the cause can be what you (and anyone else) don’t even expect, so any test (even the less logic ones) is always valid.

Swiftness Bug when >= 40s

TC is even worse than just not being stackable. let’s say you get swiftness from TC, then run over SoS 5 seconds later. the swiftness duration meter will reset to 100%, indicating you got more swiftness. but when hovering over it, it only shows 5s remaining.

I don’t know if you are just supposing or stating a fact, but I have tried something like that once (being affected by another boon source while already having swiftness from TC) and no, it didn’t show only a wrong duration on hovertext, the boon really ended when that countdown ended. Another example is when exploring with a friend, at times we both buff swiftness at once (me using TC, they something else) and I usually end with the boon from TC only (as seen by the duration).

I can’t count the times I’ve tried to place a Temporal Curtain behind some hostiles only to have my character cast it at her feet (I use Instant ground-targetting).

Not to mention the countless times I try to cast Chaos Storm (the 5th skill from scepter, not sure if the name is correct) a bit away from me and it casts just on me, usually when near bumpy or irregular terrain (also using Instant ground-targeting).

Hmm ok, let’s do a check list and see what you have tried and done so far and track down what else could be done…

  • Cleaning cache files using the method on https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/TP-Empty-Not-loading/ didn’t do the trick?
  • Repairing the game using -repair didn’t work too?
  • Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the game?
  • If you have firewall or something like, have you checked if it’s blocking the awesomium.exe process? (this is just a theory since I believe that’s this one process which makes the comm with servers for TP)

Also, it would be good to know some more about your environment:

  • What’s the OS you are on?
  • Do you have antivirus, firewall or some other like that installed and running?
  • How’s your internet connection?
  • What browsers do you have there? (since I heard that GW2 uses WebKit for TP I wonder which engine it uses and theoretically some browser might interfering? Just thoughts)

As the most of people isn’t having the same issue as you I believe it’s something at your side or something on your side plus some bug that caused it. If it was in the game or their servers only, other people would experience exactly the same problem.

That post was the only one from devs so far and only one patch was released since then. Let’s hope it’s coming to the next patch (that’s expected on 21st I believe :S).

For now, my Wardens just stand there staring at me and giving a single shoot only when I’m already about to get the mob defeated. :P

In fact, a trick I have been using to workaround this is using Temporal Curtain along with Into the Void to push off mobs when they aren’t moving so the Warden would “realize” that and go after them. But this not always work and the CD is a bit long to be used in a outnumbered fight.

It seems the system detects only “not moving” as being AFK or something like, you can even move your mouse, open windows, type and even so you are considered “away”. Not to mention that the time is too short to consider you as AFK. One day after finishing a round at Sanctum Sprint (an instance btw) I was typing something to a guildie and it was a bit long text. Just a few secs after I began to type I got a warning about not moving. So yeah, I can imagine how it could disrupt reporting a bug through Bug Report.

I believe that actions like typing should not be considered as if you are inactive. I don’t see how stopping to type something within an instance or other could be used as advantage over others (that’s what I believe it is the purpose of that AFK timer).

It’s the same case with sylvari cultural T2, the shoulders gone when wearing that chest piece. Also, that same piece makes part of the gloves gone too, not shoulder only.

That’s normal behavior for Temporal Curtain, it only applies swiftness to yourself/allies if you/they didn’t already have it.

Oh really? That’s weird because the hovertext for the Swiftness applied, that icon above your skill bar, says “stacks duration” but it never stacked even if I get swiftness from another source when already having it given from Temporal Curtain. It’s annoying because for my mesmer it’s the only manner I can get swiftness whenever I want/need. The other ways are hard to achieve (like it may come randomly from a Signet too) and has very short duration. And, in this case, the description should tell it’s only applied if you don’t have it yet.

What’s even funny and odd is the game has been playing a battle sounds after leaving an instance, mainly at LA, and if you change maps when it’s still playing the game changes to another game sound :P (this already has been reported in other threads, I just wanted to comment about it here).

Disabling double-tab to dodge in the options menu and assigning the dodge action to it’s own key will solve this problem.

Not always, I dodge using an assigned key instead double-tapping and it occasionally dodges to the wrong direction.

I think there may have some misunderstanding here and the thread may be going out of the subject posted on the OP… Anyhow, I’m already on a low resolution (1024×768) and it said I had 30% free RAM “when” the game crashed. I don’t think the game would require more than 1 Gb of RAM all at once and I have even crashed when using low settings (I usually lower them when going to LA or doing some crowded events). I’m aware that my system would work better if upgrading to 64 bits, I just couldn’t do it yet. But what’s weird is I have been playing for about 10 months, passed through several Living Stories and patches and I never had seen that Crash Report coming up, but on the last weeks it has been very frequent or even daily… :S

Oh and lets take a look at the game requirements…

Windows Minimum System Requirements
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 or better (I have a Dual Core 2.7 GHz)
2 GB RAM (I have about 4 GB of usable RAM)
NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI Radeon™ X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better) (My video card has 2GB of video RAM, a NVIDIA GTX 650)
25 GB available HDD space (I have a lot more of free space than that :P)

So I don’t think my system is so incompatible.. if it’s true then that page should change the minimum requirements :/ I agree that all what has been said makes all sense, I just don’t see it applying to my case.

Yes, I have just experienced it too while fighting the Wurm at Kessex Hills. That mob tosses something at you that’s even marked with a red circle on ground. When that red circle began to show up I tried to dodge and where my char went? Yeah it was toward the mob and where there already was a lot of other red circles that made me almost instantly downed (I was at full health when started dodging).

I just have seen a similar issue on another thread here and maybe it could be a similar case…

I was going to suggest doing a repair or reinstalling but you said you already did it 3 times. If you want, try to repair it. I can’t recall the thread about repair but I know you can do that by adding -repair to the game command line, something like “C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe -repair”.

Also, if even reinstalling doesn’t work for you it may be as it was mentioned on the post above. Maybe your HD is having issues and then try to do as it was suggested above.

I’m glad to hear that -repair did the trick. Maybe it was because some part of the game file got corrupted due some unknown reason. In my case I have never needed that command and I even didn’t know about it until some weeks ago, hehe.

Swiftness Bug when >= 40s

I was thinking about to start a new thread about this but I thought about commenting here too when I saw this thread… By chance is it me or there is a bug with stack duration from swiftness gained from Temporal Curtain? I’m used to use that skill from a focus on my mesmer while exploring so I can do that quickly, but I have noted if I’m already under effect of swiftness and I trigger that skill again I won’t get that boon again neither would it stack its duration. Have someone else noted it too? Should I start a new thread to report it as a bug?

Yes it makes sense, but the Crash Report itself says I had about 30% of free RAM... And if that would be the reason in my case, it would happen only at LA, that’s not the case as it may crash at anywhere... Anyhow, here goes one more to collection.. >.>

The event at Three Legions Court at Plains of Ashford has been stuck for almost a month, one of the NPCs is missing what makes the event impossible to be completed. It’s stuck at 90% completion where it needs to fight 1 NPC left only, but this NPC can’t be found anywhere. The pic can give more details about its progression. Server is Seafarer’s rest (EU).

Yes, items on invisible bags aren’t seen by vendors, TP, etc.. as its own description says and as mentioned on the post above. About “Compact” option… from what I have seen it only works for items on Starter Bags. During my whole game time I have had Invisible Bags, Equipment Bags, Crafter Bags… either with 8, 10, 12, 15 and 18 slots… none of them got compacted when using Compact, only items on Starter bag did.

To the OP: was they Invisible bags btw? That could be why you can’t sell or deposit items from them. To sell or deposit those items, move them to other bag (Starter maybe).
