Disconnect on leaving LA at end of event

I also have experienced this. After completing the event twice (one I died at the end, other I successful left through an exit) the game crashed on me when loading Bloodtide Coast. The crash report showed something like “heap” in the first line, which from what I understand it’s an issue with the game, not a connection issue or something like. Next time it happens I’ll grab a part of the crash report.

Also, it’s not so recurring. For 2 or 3 times it crashed when teleporting me to Bloodtide but I have entered that map successfully in other moments.

Yes, I also have noted that but with subcategories and such, although I didn’t get bothered by it at that moment. It sticks opened when clicking on an item or something, it only closes when clicking a blank area, as said above.

Stuck in combat mode after combat has ceased

Yes, I also have experienced it several times. At times I only get out of combat if I kill some mob or let my char die, otherwise I would be stuck in combat and unable to travel even after meters away from mobs and running around. Swapping weapons wouldn’t work too. I have even died once due this issue as I tried to escape from a place because a champ was coming and I was alone, but it didn’t allow me to teleport and I had to run :S

Personal story in new LA

On the notices about the new Living Story they stated that Personal Stories wouldn’t be affected, even said that like if the story mentors “could sneaky in” the city for the missions.. but I thought the city would appear normally during these instances, as it was before the attack (yes, it wouldn’t make sense for the current events but it would make sense within instance). So yes, I believe it would be a bug or a bad planning on design as it doesn’t make any sense at all. The way you stated is more nonsense than having the city normal during instance and burning when out of instance.

Now I’m curious. Do you see the dark skies, burning buildings, etc but local citizens acting normally doing your story? That’s really odd indeed.

Particle Effects On Phantasms

Would you look at that. Almost 8 months of it being reported and all it took to get it fixed was them to release a Gem Store armor with particle effects and the issue was fixed in less than 2 days.

Well, I agree they seems to give more attention to GS items than to old bugs, but I also think that what caught their attention so it got fixed in 2 days was the amount of answers to that thread (about Zodiac skin), 14 pags in 4 days. Maybe that’s what would catch more of their attention to issues too… I just couldn’t not avoid to note that.

Yes I saw it. I meant based on your screenshot I couldn’t reazlie the difference between what you see and what I see in game. You said it stretches out back after opening and closing it again. I meant you could take a before and after screenshots so we could see the difference.

Not sure if it’s the case but the Friend list panel was expanded due LFG tool, now it’s larger than it was before. But if you mean it’s getting more stretched than it became after they implanted the LFG tool, then I don’t know if you be a bug or not. Try to take a screenshot of it when you have resized and another of when it comes back stretched out, then we can see what changed. For me it looks normal on your screenshot.

Let’s get the proper context. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Revival says “Skills that revive allies can only revive them from Downed state, not Defeated state. NPCs which can be revived can always be revived by these skills.” If I got it right, it says these skills can revive players only if downed, not defeated; but if it’s a NPC then it can be revived if defeated.

However, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Illusion_of_Life says “Gives allies Illusion of Life at the target location, allowing them to get up from downed state and keep fighting.” Let’s highlight “get up from downed state”. It seems to work only when downed, NPCs don’t go into downed but directly to defeated. Even though it says “Gives allies Illusion of Life” and by ally we can understand either NPCs as well players, it also says it revives from downed state what would exclude NPCs.

What I mean here is there is some conflict with those wiki articles and yes, it would be good if Illusion of Life would be able to revive NPCs from defeated, since they don’t have downed state. The only NPCs/mobs I could see having downed state were Nightmare members from Toxic Alliance.

To finish, I’m not sure if it’s a bug or an intended behavior. But if it’s the latter then I want to leave it as a suggestion to have it changed to allow reviving NPCs as well.

Not meaning to start a riot or something like but it’s just something that has came across my mind… what if all the community would simply ignore the LS events for sake of bug fixes and others? I know that’s unrealistic to think that everyone will join this but if the majority does then that would make some noise. In fact, from the last 5 or 6 LS I hadn’t been even bothered about doing 3 of them because of too much frustration and nonsense all over the place. I mean the community needs to show them what really everyone cares about. New content is always great, but being overwhelmed by shinny new content while being hammered by old bugs is never nice and enjoyable.

Rata Sum’s actually the most convenient for this, IMO. It’s not laggy at all like LA was, and the bank, TP, and crafting stations are all in one small area. Much faster than running back and forth to the TP in LA.

I just didn’t know or couldn’t recall about how it is at Rata Sum, I just had seen that at The Grove crafting station and TP are very closer than somewhere else I knew.

Kind of feel like they took advantage of this to implement a cash grab by making certain things very inconvenient for us if we don’t buy passes to the airship.

I really tend to agree to this…

The only issue I have with this is that the Guild Commendation vendor is on the airship. I could be wrong but I think its the only one.

Not actually, there is one of it at each city. I remember seeing one at Divinity’s Reach once.

That’s 11 full places you can craft anytime you want. I cannot believe we’re going to start complaining that there isn’t a 12th, overpopulated and lagged option for us to use instead.

I think the point isn’t about one more crafting station available only but about not complying with a statement of everything was moved to there. Also, it’s always nice to have a that service you need closer to you instead having to switching maps for that. Also, not all places have all services conveniently near each other as LA had (like TP near a crafting station). The only place I saw like this too is The Grove, but not sure if other maps have too.

I have tried to record it but no success so far (no luck to catch it while recording), but yes, it happens at very random moments. Usually it happens after battles or another noisy moments, but I also have seen it happening when just opening and closing the Hero panel and World Map (I was checking suggested location for some achievements) while standing near a WP at a quiet area.

I will still try to record it then people can have a better idea.

O.o that’s weird indeed. For me it occasionally gets shorter at times. I usually have it stretched to show 10 slots per row and 8 or 10 rows height but after certain actions (that I can’t recall which ones) when I open it back it’s sized to show 3 or 4 slots on per row and 5 or less rows height.

Edit: I see you have bags hidden, just for troubleshooting purpose does it also happen when you have Bags Shown?

Specifically, the graphics setting you need to change to solve the font problem is “Interface Size”. Unfortunately only one value for this works properly with the trading post: “Normal”.

Yes, this is a known issue and thanks to the great search system here I can’t find the link for a thread :P They are different from the rest of the UI because TP uses webkit, like a browser built-in the game, then that’s why it’s different and probably where the issue lies on.

Not sure if it’s tied to the issue you mentioned but I noted something like that on PvE too. On Frostgorge Sound, near the camp at Leopard’s Tail Valley (a camp near to where Champion Drake and Champion Quaggan spawns) there is a slight slope on the path from camp to the champion and several times I got at half health by just jumping that slope. Once I even reached 10% of health because I was too fast with jumping. :S

Yup, if I’m not wrong sending more than 3 messages in a row is considered excessive messaging. I have done the same as you once. Just wait around 5 or 10 mins (I can’t recall for sure) and try again.

Maybe it has to do with how much time has elapsed, when starting at the gate. I have started there several times and got no reward.

Yes, that makes sense indeed. At times you start at the gate but the run has just started, so it’s possible you would get the chest in these cases. But also you can start at the gate and the most of runners are already at halfway of it, then it would count as practice run for you.

Regardless, I just took the info from the wiki, and tried to figure out what is relevant in most cases:

‘If you try to open the chest before you cross the finish line, the game will think you joined after the race commenced and will not reward you. Be sure to cross the finish line before opening the chest.’

Now it made me think how someone would try to grab the chest without crossing the finishing line… sounds like it could be some cheating attempt since there’s no space between the finish line and the wall and edge surrounding it (maybe I just didn’t see any so far), it crosses from a side to another.

You are not rewarded if you started the race after the official start. (You must be at the gate waiting for it to open.) So, even though you completed the run, it is considered a practice run.

That’s right but not exactly. You don’t need to be waiting at the gate for it to be official, but you have to start at the gate. I have gotten into it several times where I started at the gate but it was already open and I got a reward at the end. But if you start in anywhere in the middle of it so it’s considered a practice run, as mentioned.

Also, depending on the position you get at the end you won’t get the chest. I’m not sure about this though but I recall reaching the end and getting no chest, and it wasn’t a practice run. Sorry if this info is wrong.

Have someone even noted that it doesn’t stick with selected enemies but stick with allies? When you target a enemy it loses target so soon you cam around. But if an ally or a player is targeted it keeps selected even if you walk several steps away from them…

Here we go again… the tales of beloved Moa… during Claw of Jormag last night I was just shooting it with charrzuka just at the sideway, out of the area where the crystals would spawn, and then when the phase for attacking Jormag directly began I dropped the charrzuka and walked toward it, then I quickly hit Tab in hope of targeting something (how naive… jk). There wasn’t any other mob in my field of view but the Jormag itself and a icebrood veteran that got out of my view quickly. Guess who auto-target picked up? Are those little things now learning how to disappear huh? lol

lol yeah it seems. What happened was when I clicked the link on Bugs page it opened this thread with a blank page, only title and such but without pagination links on top and bottom. So soon I posted something the pagination links showed up and then I saw I was trolled by the system :P

Karma gear not salvageable

Yeah, the same happens with cultural gears. I have bought a cultural weapon and then I wanted to replace it with an exotic that has exactly the same appearance, so the cultural one would become useless. Then I went and tried to salvage the cultural one and meh.. not salvageable. I didn’t feel really destroying it for good as it felt it was going to be a waste. I wouldn’t lose much as I had a better exotic to use in its place but simply trashing it would be a waste. The solution was to use it on Mystic Forge with other 2 yellows and a Mystic Stone.. Luckily the result was an exotic

But yeah, I understand why they aren’t salvageable but putting it on the description would be really nice and wouldn’t lead players to error.

P.S.: for those curious, the cultural was an Warden Trident and the exotic I was going to use in its place was a Venon, exactly the same skin.

Forging The Pact (story instance bugged)

If you think there could be some issue with server, it would be better to tell which server are you on. Also, I think I did that story some time ago and I can’t recall having issues like those (although I had some hard time with mobs, I admit).
I believe the issue when teleporting might be related to another issue, when people gets stuck when teleporting, leaping or some other type of jump (I can’t retrieve the threads right now).

Issues with Mortar Seed Turret

Before the patch on 21st January, I was able to drop a new the Mortar Seed Turret so soon a current on had vanished. But now, every time I use it it tells me I can’t use it again within 30 mins! There wasn’t any note or announcement about this change and this “cooldown” sux big time, it’s too long. Also, the hint doesn’t mention anything about this time (which, btw, has a spelling error).

30 mins cooldown is too long! I wonder what ever was the reason to put that limitation and whatever it was, I ask to lower that time. Also, the item hint needs to be fixed as it is misleading players (I was surprised by that icon on top of my skill bars and a error like “You cannot use this item right now” every time I tried to use it after OoM patch >.<).

During the harpies event at Victor’s Presidium (Plains of Ashford), I walked near one of the mortars before the harpies began to come in.. I turned my cam to face a group of harpies that was coming and there was a few Moas at left of my screen, but a bit far from the group coming.. Then, I quickly hit Tab to do some quick targeting and guess who the system picked up first? Yay, you got it, our beloved Crismon Moa (that was a few steps “behind” the harpy group comming..). :P
