Balancing wise this season is the worst of 2016.

Anet finally needs to learn that “passives” don’t fit into any pvp environment. It’s stupid as kitten when passives save your kitten every time when you make mistakes – instead you should die or at least be forced to play defensively or run after making a mistake.

Condi pressure is too easily spread and it feels like there are 5 really viable builds while the rest of the classes and builds are merely playable.

There are by far more power builds in wvw than there are condi. In the old meta there were only power builds. Right now you have Rev, Guardian, Warrior, Ele with power/crit and necro with condi.
Now don’t talk roaming, that isn’t a viable or important game mode. It’s a small scale pvp mode for people that avoid going spvp.

With a change to condi and epidemic, you need to rework the whole boon system – ie nerf Revenant boon sharing, nerf guardian/dh boon sharing and get rid of all the passives evade and direct damage avoid options.

How fantastic and diverse gameplay in wvw will be without epidemic and condi classes you can actually watch by following mag zergs. DH and REV only with snipe groups. Their whole gameplay is based on power builds with pull and crit and it’s kittening boring to watch and most likely to fight

It isn’t free. Even if you have enough gold to pay for month someone pays 20$ for your sub because that person bought your gold.
It’s not free for everyone, it’s free for a minority. On EU a token costs about 90k gold. So even the rich guys will not play for free forever.

No, it really wont. This has been the argument for every subscription game since WoW. CU with subscriptions is dead on arrival. I expect it to last maybe 6 months before imploding due to low population. I just looked up gameplay footage on youtube, yep, still nothing substantial (also, still womit inducing animations).

WoW still has a subscription model and makes tons of money with kitten from their store. So, CU will be able to force a subscription on players when the game is worth playing.
If you can’t afford 12,99 per month for a subscription, you shouldn’t play.

It just does. Same kittenty matchmaking, just visible elo rating, same terrible leaderboard system, same terrible rewards ( i dont need ascended gear as pvp player, no way to get a legendary even if youre top tier), same terrible balance. Also competitive is dead. Not even gonna bother.

I agree on many points with you, but on the above I don’t based on my own experience.

With a proper build you can roam (I do that often). In both WvW and SPVP it took frequently 4+ people to take me down with good amounts of toughness, power and sustain + constant reaper form and heavy, heavy damage with proper kiting. It’s all about timing, knowing when to withdraw from a fight, manoeuvrer, rejuvenate and re-engage.

Yeah, you can totally roam when you find 4 idiots that can’t kill a single necro and play builds not made for roaming. Everyone else stomps you before you can get into shroud. Be serious, please.

Desert borderland is the map in the matches that almost never has a queue on any server. It’s so empty that gvg guilds decide to go there.
If there was a majority of players that like desert bl then the map would not be outmanned on most servers when 15-20 players switch to that map.

Stealth overpower in wvw
In PVE MAP, each boss at least have 1000000hp
however in WVW map each people only have 1-40000 hp
stealth ez to kill anyone ,cuz thief only need to use stealth who down on the ground

Look outside the box though. There’s a reason why there’s “20 reapers” using this skill right now as opposed to “20 eles” spamming meteor shower. One is vastly superior to the other. (Epidemic.) If meteor shower were better, or even equal as you assert, then we’d see 20 eles instead of the 20 reapers. All I’m saying is that the meta is epidemic. And there’s barely any counters to it when you stack reapers/necros. One necro with 1 epi is fine. 5 necros with 5 epis is exponentially dangerous. The same is not true with meteor shower.

Been there, done that. The old meta was less stupid? Everyone running berserker and bomb with wells/marks and meteor while the melee stunned everything around them.
How was this more favorable?
There was no counter to it

Tbh epidemic is fine where its at. It does what its meant to do. Its the condi damage that needs a nerf.

Well if they nerf condi dmg then they need to boost condi skills and nerf condi cleanse.

Pretty much this. A nerf to condi damage has to lead to a nerf for condi cleanse and a heavy nerf to boons. With this happening they will have to tone down direct damage too to balance the whole thing again and we end up where? I don’t know.

Ok, when we nerf epidemic, we have to talk about nerfing boons. Take boon availability and access away from all the classes.

You don’t like that solution? Neither do I, but I’m not the one who thinks Epidemic is the problem.
The problem is that there is no balancing in wvw and yes, gear (especially since the introduction of ascended) is a huge problem in wvw.
There was no dire or marauder gear available. You had to go power/toughness/vitality or berserker (or carrion) and you had to choose to do less damage for high sustain or high damage with low sustain.
Today you equip your full dire gear or marauder mixed with berserker and you get high damage and high sustain. In combination with boons all available (even for thieves or engis) and a lot of new passive skills you need a balancing factor.
So, we either get rid of stats in wvw and go the spvp way or we wait for Anet to balance wvw in a similar way they balance spvp.
We all know neither of this will happen, because Anet doesn’t care for wvw. They’d rather take out another class.

and btw this is pretty funny

You run 2 eles so they can heal the necros that are abusing epidemic.

Ok, let’s nerf ele healing then. The necro dies instantly without healing and epidemic is balanced in a second.

Thank you. That was the kind of response I was looking for.

If you’re referring to the WvW meta, that’s incorrect. Most coordinated havoc groups/zerg busters run reapers, eles, and 2 more misc classes to deal with condis and produce CC. (Usually Dh/guard, scrappers, sometimes war, some druids.)

You’re not saying Epidemic is a skill that has already been nerfed and therefore shouldn’t get nerfed, are you? Are you referring to the infinite range bug and LoS bug? Or the condition stack limit? None of those are nerfs, and the only real change is a buff that made it unblockable. I might be missing something here.

Epidemic is definitely not a ‘very situational’ skill. Firstly, traited at a 15s cd, it can be spammed to all hell. The radius is enormous, and it has max aoe potential. I’ll admit that it is indeed a skill-shot, but to insist that it’s a skill that can easily be avoided is something I’ll simply disagree with. It’s just not true. The hardest part about landing epidemic successfully is loading the condis first. When you’re in a havoc group of 5+, you find that the condis are not lacking in the slightest. 15scd, 600 radius, 1200 range to cast, 5 targets, unblockable. Jeeze, that really is about as good as landing a skill gets.

Also, just because there is conversation about one skill, doesn’t mean all other things that were discussed in the past no longer hold any merit. Anet reviewed the conversations, reviewed the game itself, and whatever decision they made they have already made. And so it will be with epidemic. Will they change it in any sort of way? Will they ignore it? I’m not really sure. But when a conversation pops up in the future about another part of the game I’m not going to bring other things up like epidemic and start crying about the past.

The game never was about havoc groups and roaming and never will be. If we start balancing for a niche we can stop balancing at all.
If balancing for havoc group was important to Anet in any way most of the changes to wvw never would have happened and stealth would have been reworked long ago as would have pu mesmer.
The question is why “run 2 ele”. Maybe we should see a nerf here instead? No, we shouldn’t, because no one cares about roaming and havoc – it’s unbalanced territory since the earliest days in wvw. If you want balancing for that, you need to introduce preset stats like in spvp (wonder why no one talks about epidemic there)

And to be honest. I haven’t seen havoc groups without at least two thieves, a mesmer, a druid or ele a long time, I almost never see reapers roaming. (US Tier 1 or 2)

The reason its op in wvw is because anything with 0 condi damage but access to condi will scale 100% the necros condi damage when epi goes off.
a guard can stack say 10 burns. no condi damage on any of his gear and hit for nothing. once the necro epis those 10 stacks its now 10 burns scaling from the necros condition damage not the guards. add more gaurdians and necros to the mix and you see where im going with this (max 25 stacks per epi).
a solo pve necro would still be able to epi his own damage

And this would make the spell useless in pve, pvp and wvw. Nobody cares about solo pve and why would you even consider using it?

And while we are at it, we make reveal debuff last 120 seconds and cut thieves energy generation by 50%.

Let me exaggerate nerfing epidemic the way you just exaggerated nerfing other things for other classes.

Epidemic now has a 3 minute cool down. It now only transfers 1 random condi to one other person.

Please add something constructive to the conversation instead of just blowing off the entire thread and some of the responses in it as ridiculous. See the original post change propositions.

Constructive? You mean like the guy I quoted? That’s not constructive at all. The current meta only has a few classes. Eles are almost out of this meta, as are warriors and the next ones will be necros with a stupid nerf for epidemic.
Epidemic isn’t op. It’s a very situational and not easy to land skill which you can avoid even as a large group.
There are far more stupid skills in the game (ie stealth mechanic, stability) which should have reworked long ago. Instead people discuss a skill that got nerfed before.

Necros have been in the meta forever not because of Epidemic, but because of really strong utility and direct damage. Even if Epidemic got completely removed, Necro/Reapers will still be one of the most sort after classes for WvW groups

My guild doesn’t use condi necros because power necros are still viable and still fun to play. Producing downs on every single well bomb is still satisfying. Nerfing Epidemic won’t do a thing to necro.

Sorry, can’t take you BG guys serious. I saw you fighting against Mag and JQ and you got wiped even when you outnumbered them. Your only survival tactic was heavy pin sniping.

Every reveal should last much longer and we could talk about getting rid of stealth disruptor.
The myth that thieves heavily rely on stealth was true at the beginning of the game when d/d and p/d or s/p were popular builds. Today, especially with daredevil, thieves don’t rely on stealth as they did. They have condi cleanse, highest mobility ingame and even can keep their boons up.

Sure, get rid of disruptor, but rework reveal to avoid perma stealth finally.

Its simple.
We want New maps.
I dont go to eotm cause thats not very rewarding to kill upscaled people.
I dont go to desert border cause de map is death 24/7.
EB got always a Q at primetime.

So we have basicly only 2 playable maps. EB and alpine.
Those maps are not the most colourfull maps. Sometimes I have the feeling that they were only allowed to use 16 colours on that map.

So people are almost playing 5 years on those boring 16 color maps.
What happens is, your brain will tell you, that it wants to see something else.

The gameplay/combat system is acceptable, but after 5 years the eyes Just wanna see something else. Its very cute those endless minor updates they do that almost no one cares about but its not enough.

We need or New WvW maps.
Or texture update for the current maps. So that the same maps can have a New texture update.

Owyeah, and we need cloakes/capes, a legendary back item for WvW (PvP has one, pve aswell, wvw next?)

Taking away mobility does not delete the class. That “we are unplayable when, ..” stuff is ridiculous.
Thief has superior mobility, great damage and access to passive condi cleanse combined with a lot of cooldowns which can be used offensive and defensive. If you want to balance thief finally, you need to take some things of this options away. At the moment thief is a low risk, high reward class.

The only ones don’t see the thief issues are thief players, because the majority still thinks it’s their skill making thief playable and at the current balance state it’s the class that carries you.

I spending all my time, from the mornig to the night in WvW, i dont have time for farming some PvE raids. This will be really great idea put Legendary Armor who we could get from reward or buy it from vendor. For example, you will be need some values for buy, like a for ascended weapon/armor 1000 rank, 2000 Badge of Honor, 1000 Proof of Heroics, and more for legendary Weapon or Armor like 5000 rank, 10000 Badge Of Honor and 5000 Proof of Heroics.
Got it from reward track is too simply

Rewards should be given for not running after the fotm train. It makes absolutely no sense to reward people for transfering to a winning server.

Instead reward players for being outnumbered and sticking to their server whatever tier it is. The longer you stick to your server the better rewards you get. For every 3 month on a server you should get a rank (and it counts only for 1 account if you have linked more then one) with a reward. If one of your accounts transfers this rank is resetted.

Not fun to get steamrolled with a blob all the time during NA hours, and we felt like we were carrying JQ’s NA time some (if not most) days alongside Hard. Also couldn’t really recruit for the guild well despite trying for months on JQ, so it was a choice between BG and Mag (since TC is imploding). BG was closed, so Mag was the last choice.

This shows why you NA guys (or SEA) will never have good matchups as we have on EU. (or at least had before links)
You leave a solid server which got some NA recently and instead of getting stuff done you jump the next bandwagon. You limit your own options to get good fights and balanced matchups.

And after that you still wonder why your matchups suck.

I really hope Anet stops that behaviour.

1) close servers faster
2) undo transfers to full servers and pay the gems back
3) lower the map caps
4) reward people for staying on servers and for not transfering with ascended chests for every 3 month they stick on their server
