Wow, this is a great idea, especially because the Fractals of the mists are reliving history! It would have to be condensed, to be able to do it in 15minish but it’s a really good idea, I hope they do this.

If only other multiplayer games had dedicated servers…we could look at those and see however many hundreds of them there are…the historical precedent would be useful…oh well. /sarcasm

How many of those other games have gamewide ladders that track ever player? How can custom arenas ever over take tournaments as the main game mode especially when you can customise things in a arena and play by all sorts of different rules. I think some people will pay for arenas but the fact of the matter is there will always be a sanctioned ruleset that A-net will use for ranked games that will have to happen outside of the customized arenas in tournaments. The point is not as ridiculous as you seem to think. I personally have zero plans to ever rent a customized arena. I’ll use other peoples that are made public or I will do tournaments.

I don’t think that was the aim with CA’s. I think the main goal for CA’s is to host community made tournaments. Which are already being done. Monthly mmorpg.com tourny, guildwars2hub.com tourny, King of the (Custom Arena) Beta, just to list a few NA tournies. They’re doing exactly what they were created for.

When was this taken? and I mean, Yeah, I mean I love the one round tournies, if I want to play one or two rounds of tourny for a chest it’s great. But there was no question about if they prefer it over 3 round, if they want 3 round gone, or if they want it back etc, just because people like it doesn’t mean it should be the only one, you know what i mean?

What is that channel lol It has 200 subs and less than 1k views per day( No offence) . You just proved my point lol.

the channel has been active for less than 2 months w/o any form of SEO or promotion + we’ve taken down the vids on builds that get nerfed (like our 100 nades build that netted around 20k views in under 3 weeks). We’re hoping to net more subs after the site is polished a bit more and officially released, we already have interviews lined up with some LoL teams like CLG and TSM so hopefully we can draw from that game’s viewer base as well in the near future. (SC2, Smite, Dota all down the pipeline).

Just want to say, you guys are doing a great job. I’d love to see some shoutcasts with spec comming on tuesday. really professional vids and nice guides

Smite has under 1mil players and gets over 10x the views on every media outlet than GW2 with half the promotion.

Only the rifle #1 and #2 skills are changed as well. I only take rifled barrels to make my pistol #2 slightly more accurate.

Don’t waste your time this game will never be a e-sport. Take a minute and play other games and you will realize how bad GW2 would be as a es-port not only that but i very very very much doubt Anet will ever fully complete there promise of supporting the game as a e-sport.

If the whole world had that attitude we’d all still be settled in Europe, riding horses and dying at the age of 45. Guild Wars 2 still have a possibilty to be an Esport. We have customs, we have spectators, we have willing streamers, youtubers, skilled PvPers, it CAN HAPPEN. A lot of top tier teams are comming back to pvp with the new patch. The only problem now is balancing, no MMO is ever balanced, and GW2 isn’t really THAT bad. Chin up, buttercup it can happen.

I play tournies to win. I’m not some kitten try hard, I really don’t even care that much when we lose, because at the end of the day it’s more experience under my belt, and more knowledge about what we did wrong/right and what we can do better. That being said, I avoid death at all costs, or i’ll prolong it for as long as possible. The longer I am downed and interuppting, the longer that one person is focused on me and not on the node, or my other players who aren’t downed and are useful. If it’s on a contested node, I’ll stay downed as long as possible so the other team doesn’t get point ticks, and if I can get away, it’s better than giving them 5 points and me having to wait 15 seconds for a respawn.

I know it’s frusterating, but don’t stop running and don’t die with honor.

Nope, Spectator mode wille be in beta, but available for everyone.

Custom arena, on the other hand, will also be in beta, but free arenas will be given during this period to the top 50 players. Anyone can join those arenas, as long as the host allows it.

I agree, if the rewards were worth it, three round tournies would be much more popular. Why did they take out gem rewards, that was bad kitten Honestly I wouldn’t even care as much if the single round tournies weren’t the same map for 3-4 days in a row. I hate hot join, so if I just tourny, I’m forced to play a map, I may or may not like for 4 days straight. What the hell is up with that?

Seriously, can we get an actual response on why we have to play the same map everyday for half a week?

The rifled barrels trait doesn’t increase the blowtorch range, it stays at 600. It’s not just a tooltip error, it doesn’t increase in combat either. This needs to be fixed as IMO, rifled barrel biggest use would be with blowtorch.

The rifled barrel traits, which should increase pistol/rifle/harpoon gun range, doesn’t increase Pistols #4 ability, the Blowtorch. It stays at 600. It’s not just a tooltip error either, I tested it and it doesn’t increase in combat.

When i load up the TP, If i search an item the buy button will be greyed out, even when I KNOW I have the funds to purchase it. My inventory window won’t load my items to sell either. The only way to get past this bug is to reboot the client entirely and I hate doing that because it takes a while. I’ve had this for as long as I can remember, I think I first got it in October. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

The current implementation of the Grenth fight is at the intended difficulty.

We identified some bugs in the initial roll out and they were fixed. We also adjusted the size of the portals to allow for more play room. We intend this fight to be a difficult encounter in the open world for experienced players to feel challenged against.

I love the difficulty of grenth and I wish there was more content like this. Failing grenth 8+ times and spending hours with people trying to overcome it is a great mmo experience, except why would anyone want to do this for blues and greens? Sure it’s still fun but the reward that we’re working for is what drives most people including me

Easy solution for the scepter, just speed up #1 and make Smite a symbol, Symbol of Fire. This is the single target ranged option. #1 should be a projectile finisher with a x% chance.

I’m pure support, and I run with Mace/Shield + Staff.

Mace’s symbol is just amazing, AoE regen on a short CD? Yes please. The Protector’s Strike does some pretty good AoE damage, and protection is one of the best buffs you can get. I prefer shield over focus, because I get healed for every buff, so the shield 4 ability is awesome, since it gives prot and heals me. Shield of Absorption is just awesome, and you can detonate it for heals!

I don’t know why you think mace/torch is a bad combo, i run GS/Mace/Torch for soloing in Cursed.

Why are certain legendaries like Twilight, Sunrise, Juggernaut, Kudzu. Incinerator, Tooth of Frostfang etc, given so much love with so many effects, liquid armor, footstep effects, birdsong when projectiles are flying, arms covered in the element, etc when other legendaries that take the same amount of effort and money and time like the moot, minstrel, and meteorlogicus so underwhelmingly awful?

make a guardian alt with the pauldrons. next, transmute it to a white item. put it in your bank. then let your main guardian get it and transmute it to its pauldrons.

I tried to transmute the pauldrons onto a level 18 white pauldrons i got off the TP and when i try to it says Warning: transmuting an item will make it soulbound, and the transmute button is greyed out what did i do wrong :P

I will often get a cooldown of 60s on my Bomb Kit after I use my rocket turret underwater when they occupy the same slot. (Rocket turret is underwater, bomb kit is on land)

Step two is to get the weapon stats to apply to kits as well. We felt sigils was the more important first step because it creates build diversity. Flamethrower with sigil of air? Yes please.
