Why do most players not respond to whispers?

Okay now before i start my little rant, im not insinuating that everyone that plays gw2 is in this bracket. Alot of people are really nice and really helpfull and the people that post regularly on these forums want to make this game great, and provide alot of help and suggestions. So I would also like to thank you all that put in the effort to be part of a community.

My gripe is, right now im recruiting for a guild that im in, on Seafarers Rest. And while I will post on /map the usual recruitment type posts I will also whisper anyone I see thats not in a guild. And I would say that on average out of every 20 people that I whisper around 18-19 people wont even reply to the whisper.

Even a no thanks I would be happy with, but I just think that people cant even take 2 seconds to write a reply as extremely rude.

I can accept that some people dont want to be in a guild (although why play a game called guild wars and not be in a guild confuses me a little) and I understand that not everyone represents the guild they are in (again confuses me as to why they dont represent)

And then there are the people that will just walk past you instead of reviving you. WTF is that all about?

Maybe ive just been playing these games too long and its no longer about fun with others but all about someones own selfish desires

I gotta say…hypocritical much? Wow this is worse than pretty much anyone I have encountered ingame. So people HAVE to play the game the same way as you do, or it’s them that is selfish? I think you should stop whispering people without a guild tag. Hell for one thing my friends and I would NEVER join a guild with someone who just randomly pms people without a guild tags with an invite.

This sounds like a fail rant about how everyone should be running greatsword warriors in full beserkers to make your dungeon runs faster or something like that. Or it’s just a rant because you feel pugs have made your runs harder, but its probably more like a Learn to play issue for you.

A big difference between the Shield of the Moon and The Dark Moon Shield is that the Dark Moon Shield has a faint trail of smoke that trails behind it while the Shield of the Moon does not.

Dark Moon Shield
After seeing where Final Rest was found I have been wondering if anyone knows where it is. I got the PVP skin in a 1v1 tourney chest and I love the skin, but reading everywhere it seems no one has found it in game, so I wanted to see if I could get a Dev reply on if this is in game or not.

Sorry, but warrior has given up tricks, sustain, support, range, build diversity, etc for any measure of a strength they have.
They aren’t OP, and the constant whining needs to stop. It really is an L2P issue.
In PVP playing warrior is like chasing cars with a stick.

Necro and ranger need to be buffed. Thats true. Engineer also. Warrior is not OP though, and it continually is nerfed.

Who do you think was tanking for you and helping the dungeons go faster, anyway?

A thief or a guardian can do warriors job better 90% of the time. Warrior zerkers you think are so OP are now so ridiculous to try and run that they probably don’t do nearly as much damage as they should simply because they are on the ground constantly. The omnomberry pie was nerfed and got rid of all remaining viable warrior builds, and we shouldn’t have had to rely on a 5 silver consumable to be almost as successful as the other classes to begin with.

I know alot of necros, and I feel for you, but actually play a warrior before complaining about it. You would be on the ground constantly. We are almost like thieves without stealth but with more damage for a burst at this point. Or a close ranged mesmer with no clones. We have no tricks. Our heals are terrible. It seems most classes got one or two weaknesses built into their profession but ours got all but damage. Alot of health points and toughness don’t help. Simple as that.

I’ve played a warrior for months without the use of omnomberry pies, doing dungeons fractals and all that junk. Of course instead of just finding a zerker build on the forums I thought up my own build and learned how to survive instead of just face tanking with the GS. Honestly with the right build/traits the warrior still does a ton of damage with the ability to hold some of the aggro. Just like a guardian you can go mostly defensive and face tank almost any boss in the game, you are just going to have to give up the outrageous damage that used to come with it. Guess what, that’s what the guardian has to do also.

Guild Quest Update concerns me

The short answer is that new content is not going to drive people away from the game. There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.

The long answer is that guilds are indeed both social structures and reward mechanisms. We realize rewards can strain social connections and we do our best to prevent it. We want you to be able to play with your friends without feeling pressured by the game to spend your time doing otherwise. We’re still fine-tuning some details, but the general idea is that rewards from new guild content system are rate-limited in such a way that a smaller, more-focused groups can maintain a similar pace to the larger ones. So no, you won’t have to abandon your friends and join mega-guilds to benefit from the system, but that’s not to say the mega-guilds won’t have plenty of stuff to do.

I don’t want to go into too many more details until our team formally releases all of the information in our upcoming blog post. But I hope that helps for now.

Guild Missions [merged]

I know there have been some concerns about Guild Bounties being in the Art of War line. Our goal with this system is to give guilds activities and long-term progression that they can accomplish by working together as a guild. These missions are meant to be difficult and challenging to not only unlock, but to accomplish.

We would also like to make every guild upgrade line valuable to every guild. Currently, Art of War is very focused on PvP and WvW, but our plan is to continue to add more guild upgrades in the Art of War line to accomplish this. These Guild Missions are the first step. Along with this system, we also added a number of new guild upgrades that guilds can earn.

In the end, our goal for all of this content is to give guilds new goals and challenges to accomplished once they have researched deeply into each line, as well as require guilds to have researched multiple lines to unlock some upgrades. We expect guild members to have to work together as a guild to earn the influence needed to unlock these new missions, as well as overcome the challenge of the missions themselves.

In the future, we plan to continue to add more guild upgrades, as well as continue to add challenging guild missions, as we don’t want guilds to run out of goals and accomplishments they can achieve.

I bought the guardian gear box just a little bit ago. Wish I had written down what the stats were on each item, but they were both level 80 rares. One was a hammer the other a sword. Got annoyed and salvaged them before I even wrote down the stats though…

I LOVE the PvP in this game…but the zerg state that hotjoin is in and getting roflstomped by premades in free tourneys has finally gotten me to the point that I’m done. I’ll go back to PvE and WvW. I’m fine with losing a fun close match, but when you lose 500 to 130 and see the rank at the end of the game and everyone in your group is 5-15 and then the other group is all over r40 it just pisses me off. What got into their heads to think that having that large of a disparity between ranks in a single PvP match is ok, I have no clue. I hope that everyone but a few leave PvP in this game just like in gw1 so that maybe it will get through their heads that THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG. Oh well I had some fun, but I guess PvP isn’t meant for casuals in A-nets minds. Also this “E-sport” bs is laughable. Have fun all.

What is even more stupid is just how obnoxiously a server like kaineng is benefiting from all the people transferring to a lower tier server. The obnoxious amount of badges and siege weapons this server is getting on a daily basis is bad. Really, really bad.

I know there will be people on here that say things like: If you don’t like RNG then don’t buy stuff from the gem store der dee der. But I REALLY like this idea lol, it’s exactly how I feel playing 3/4 of this game including the gem store. It’s too bad the other 1/4 of the game has me hooked. Anyhoo I think I’ll start doing this also.

It’s also bugged on Yaks Bend. The southern invasion is at the rally point, but the northern invasion is bugged so that they don’t appear anywhere and it won’t reset.

Just a quick update on where the whole scavenger hunt system stands since I know that’s a topic many of you have brought up recently. We’re not currently actively working on building any sort of legendary precursor scavenger hunt, this is something we want to do in the future and we’re in the midst of designing how this would function, but no one is actively building this feature and you should not expect in the Jan/Feb/March releases at this point.

This should be posted on every website that rates games just to show how little respect the players get from ANET. And this is from someone who LOVES GW1 and GW2.

forgive me if i’m not impressed by a guild made up of kids who run the FOTM gimmick builds and run around thinking they’re the gods of the game. So you can run a D/D ele that a 5 year old can learn in about 15 minutes?? congrats?? you want recognition or props learn to actually put together a build for a difficult class like ranger or necro. Then we’ll be impressed.

This is what I figured. You should note I have played elementalist from the start and haven’t just switched recently.

That’s like me saying because I have run Thief since the beginning it makes my D/D build not FOTM. But unlike you instead of staying with D/D thief I’ve changed to my own S/D, P/P build instead of switching to the FOTM build.

Bug?-Commando Armor Helm

In the PvP locker there is a set of armor called Commando for Medium armor. You can get this armor through the later stages of story mode, but the helm that you get through the story is called a Commando Bandana yet has the skin of a Pirate mask. I’m not sure if this is intentional or is a bug on the skin of the helm. I REALLY love this armor set, but the helm is a major piece of it and I can’t find it anywhere.
