Out of that whole article THIS is the thing they have to understand the most IMO:
“People who tell you you’re awesome are useless. No, dangerous.
They are worse than useless because you want to believe them. They will defend you against critiques that are valid. They will seduce you into believing you are done learning, or into thinking that your work is better than it actually is. Especially watch out for the ones who tell you that nobody understands your genius.
Honestly, this is going to sound horrible, but self-doubt is one of your most powerful tools for craftsmanship. None of the designers you admire feel self-confident about their work in that way. None of them think that they are awesome. They all suffer from impostor complexes the size of the Titanic.
I am not saying that you need to lack confidence in yourself. (Heck, you’ll never put anything out if that’s the case! You need to have the arrogance to assume anyone will care in the first place). I am saying that nobody is ever done learning, and people who tell you you have arrived will give you a sense of complacency. You should never be complacent about your art.”
Edit: I actually think I’m going to save that article and quote this every time some rabid fanboy freaks out on someone’s good ideas.

Maybe not quite on topic but, 1v5 uplevel thieves + a lvl 80 to put that part in context :P
No offense because I think that was some awesome thief play, but I hope they Alt f4d and uninstalled.

Has anyone in this thread every said they wanted something, regardless of how it looks? You could just be sighing over a strawman.
No but the people whining over not wanting the Halloween items to come back seem to only have 1 reason, they want the “prestige”(LOL) of a 1 time only item.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
No wonder half the population has ugly looking characters and weapon combos….When did people stop playing to make their characters as awesome looking as possible instead they just want something that is “rare” because it was only around for a couple of weeks. /sigh
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
should a person that duped on an alt account and transferred to their main not be held accountable because they didn’t do it directly?
This is WAAAAAY different than seeing Omega blueprints cheap on the TP and buying them, you have no way of knowing who you are buying from. But if you were traded through mail, blueprints from someone who was duping them, then that is a different story.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
I just feel that everyone should have a chance at getting these without paying out the butt for them.
I feel this is awesome approach going forward with new skins from now on. I just think it’s too late for the existing skins though since plenty of people have already paid “out the butt” and it would be completely unfair to undercut their efforts.
Why? Because they couldn’t wait the full year till the skins came back again? These skins did come from a holiday event that comes around once a year. It wasn’t like most of the living story parts that are a story and only makes sense to come up once then go away.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
If you were smart you would know that in gw1 polar bear minipets, or any rare minipet in that matter, did not return year after year. They were extremely rare and based on RNG farming, quite similar to the Halloween skins, where people would farm for keys to get the skins. Not everyone had the pleasure to enjoy a miniature vizu, island guardian, panda, grawl, zhed, etc. So on that base, I can safely presume that Anet will not be releasing these again.
Plus, if Guild Wars 2 wants to stay on top of their game I highly doubt that they will be re-releasing the same content year after year. Their main income is based purely on gem store sales and majority of players already have the skins. So you do the math big boy, because I’m sure their profit margin is much higher with new skins.
P.S. by the sounds of it, you sound exactly like one of those poor souls that didn’t get a skin during the event, so quit lying and complaining. Thanks.
Did you even play Guild Wars 1? Because it sounds like you never did, and if you did you didn’t have enough experience to get close to the miniature market. The only 1 you got halfway right was the Mini Polar Bear and you didn’t need to farm “keys” to get that you just had to run a “dungeon” during wintersday over and over and hope to get that .00001% drop. The other minis you listed came from different PVP championships, contests and other promotional deals. Which means they have nothing to do with a holiday event.(FYI they brought back half of those in the 7th Year B-day presents also meaning they re-released them)
Edit: Should have kept reading because TehPwnerer tells you the same thing right after your post.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
(edited by sirflamesword.3896)
They will probably have new weapons that drop from the Halloween dungeon, but that dungeon will now be a once per day per account reward with a .000001% chance to drop a skin.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
You all must be in the minority, because ~50% of the people I see farming with me in orr have one or more of the special effects scythe, sickle, or axe. If they were not selling well, I guarentee you that Anet would have lowered the prices on these items. As long as they see the demand, those prices will stay. However, for those willing to wait/gamble, you can still get items like this for 600gems during special sales.
100% of the people I see gather don’t have the special tools. See I can make up random numbers also.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Solomon’s thinking is the same type of thinking that some people with legendaries have about precursor prices becoming cheaper/“easier” to get than they are now(Coming from someone who farmed 2 legendaries). It’s a crappy and selfish way of thinking.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
In keeping with the theme of this thread. This is similar to why I stopped giving Xmas gifts…self-entitled brats.
Anyway, if the gods see fit to grant me an ascended weapon drop, I’ll be grateful regardless of type or stats. Thanks in advance.
Ah yes and the only thing worse than a “self-entitled brat” is a grouchy old kitten.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
OK, but that is not the point. Yes, if you get bored, you should move on. That is something I personally recommend to burned out guildies. But that does not mean you have to like watching a franchise fail.
There is no expansion in the works. No sequel is being worked on either.
Right now, the living story is all the Guild Wars franchise has, creatively. It is all Anet has, financially. If the LS does not succeed, then both the IP and the company are in trouble.
Fans of the series want to see Guild Wars succeed and continue to grow. If the living story is not up to par, then that will not happen because, once again, there is nothing else on the horizon from this company.
This is what scares me more than anything. I’m completely emotionally invested in this game and so are my guildies, but what have I been seeing lately? My guildies looking at other games that are coming out in the next few months. It makes me mad that after 8 years we are going to be forced to a different game, because it basically isn’t the same company as it was before. Then you have the people on here telling us all to leave the game if we don’t like it anymore, and for them it is probably that easy because they aren’t emotionally involved in the Guild Wars franchise. I can only hope that they figure this out before it is too late for me to bring my guildies back to this game.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
After having everyone throw my ideas on how to make teq more fun, and doable with less people(20-40) in my face I hope this encounter stays the same so that everyone that enjoys it has to join a specific guild to do it and will only be able to do it when they have enough people on. Vengeful? Yes, yes I am.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Your the guy I siege spamed after we wiped your lil zerg train.. I bet that made you mad.
Well I’m sorry. Maybe you should stack tighter ?
Wrong guy
Here’s a little impromtu 3v3 against against XOXO members when they saw an easy chance for some ganking. We fought back, guess what happened all.
You may have caught the 2 worst thieves I have ever seen on video…

Game Update Notes – October 1, 2013
- Twilight Arbor Aetherpath
If you have time to do it, I really recommend reading the patch notes with each release. Lots of good information on changes is included in these.
Kinda funny you say to read the patch notes then don’t actually read this persons post. He didn’t say he got one of the new Weapons skins he said he got an ACCOUNT BOUND version of a NIGHTMARE weapon. I really think he needs to post a screenshot because at this point I don’t believe it though.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Clearly only your tastes matter right op? I think the first 5 actually look much worse than the ascended armor(and I think the ascended armor is ugly). Looks are all about personal taste so if there is just 1 person who likes the armor they put in then imo it’s a success.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Yaks! Why did you bail from Hills as soon as we got back in??? Fight us, don’t jump off the cliff to your death, c’mon. You had more players than we did.
We had more players than you? Hmm, lets check the instant replay shall we???
Okay? From the green dots still running up from the camp, the numbers were about even. I would assume you still had people running from spawn also. When you guys wiped us when we first came to try and save Hills, you DID have more numbers than us. We eventually had reinforcements come in, and then you might have been slightly outnumbered by us, but before that? No.
Edit: Went back and checked the video again, I don’t see an outmanned buff?
Kain probably had like 2 people on the map therefore no outmanned. There were 2 zergs there, 1 smaller than us and the other was pretty close to the same size. The whole night we had a max of 50 people in our zerg, closer to 30 most of the time.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
I gotta say, SBI it’s pretty bad how many more people than us you need to take a zero supply garrison. 3 to 1 isn’t enough? It’s just sad.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
To put it bluntly I will post where ever I see fit from a BG thread to a DR thread ain’t no one holding my mouth or opinion. Now with that said.. I personally can’t stand Yaks because they purposely kept HOD ahead of us and the map spoke for itself cuz there was a point we were only 200 points away.. only lost 2nd cuz Yaks wanted to focus us.. it doesn’t matter at this point nor will it matter for the future. I expect to be in the same position as last week when we faced them.. so my real enjoyment will simply come from destroying your grps that out number us 3 to 1 by being more organized and cordinated.. so yea im pretty much enjoying u all going against SBI.. Im watching the millenium site like its spectator mode jus laughing.. and if u cant take smack talk.. your either a child, really sensitive like a female or idk what else.. but MAN UP and give yourself something to talk about instead of “NO ONE CARES” cuz obviously Yaks has Jack squat to brag about. Good day Yak heads and enjoy the rest of your miserable week. Sincerely, [StaR]
I’m speechless about this. We hit SF just as hard as we hit HOD last week, at times we hit SF even HARDER because they had the cojones to hit a few of our keeps in EB and YBBL. What actually made you lose last week was the last few days you had almost no one still playing.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
and they call gvg kill trading…lol
It wouldn’t be this way if we weren’t facing a server 6 ranks above us, and 7 ranks above kain.
I don’t really care, honestly. If that keeps you playing then go for it. I just think it’s amusing that people consider GvG against the spirit of WvW because of “kill trading” when people suggest stuff like that…not that I’m saying you’ve said anything about GvG. I’m just amusing myself.
It’s kinda funny because I think without GvG or some type of Karma train on weeks like this WvW would probably be completely dead.

wow another terribly pointless week for wvw.. Kaineng.. Yaks Bend.. you two need matchups that will help you out.. not throw you down the hole farther.. In SBI we need challenged, but, at least keep up the fight…
We need to just start a karma train again where you take something then we retake it and go back and forth, because it’s getting really tiring getting run over right before we take something in our own borderlands…
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
These WxP boosters better drop like candy from a Pinata. Because WvW was never supposed to be a treadmill.
164 ranks in the last week and only 1 WxP booster. Gotta Love it.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
I had to stop watching when he said multiple times that they want the players to experience something “new” every time they log in. I’m torn between thinking that they want us to only log in every 2 weeks, and the thought that this is a stupid expectation. It’s been stated about 100 times that most people(on the forums at least) would rather have a huge update(see expansion) and work through it at their own pace then “content” copied and pasted every 2 weeks in different zones.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
I will agree with the fact that the grind is to long when it comes to Wxp, but making it account bound is not the solution. Longevity is what MMO’s should shoot for, so if you could complete this within a year playing casually and it was account bound then you have nothing to do after 1 year of play, thats it, your done, congratz you beat GW2.
Again I’m not disputing that the grind is to much, but it would be terrible business practice for any MMO to aim for their game to be done in a year. This is where and why several other MMO’s go the route of character progression vs. Account progression. I’ll repeat before you reply with “but the grind is to long and will literally take 15 years for 8 80’s to cap” the problem (in my opinion) is not with it being character progression, the problem is they have made it near impossible to achieve.
Aside from that, we are not going to agree and your opinion is just as valid as mine so there really is no point to keep debating.
9,999 (or w/e it is) ranks isn’t longevity?
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
This made me smile. Thank you for that.
And then it made me sad.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only person who had this same reaction. It’s like my first reaction is all those things were so freaking awesome, then I remember this is technically by the same company and it makes me sad to see none of them in this new game. I want Kanaxai back…my favorite thing by far in GW1.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
This is the typical YB scouting party. Small and quaint. No bigger than a thimble.
That’s called the Choo Choo, and it only runs so we can get that WXP. We were all hoping we would have a pretty even matchup this week on Yaks, but of course stupid RNG had to ruin it for all 3 servers this week.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
I’m really really sorry SF.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Exactly, that’s why beating Tequatl doesn’t make you a better player.
We aren’t ever going to change their minds, because for once in this game they can feel “elite”.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Newsflash, there are many forms of difficulty, cat herding is one of them, motivating your troops is another. having good reflexes or timing for a jump doesnt have to the only challenge the game poses. And just like whether you have good reflexes or not, the solution might be out of your reach. Deal with it. Overcoming logistics is certainly more doable then some other difficulties, if you want to to put in the effort. TKS is the best example.
My god this is the difficulty people were crying about for months? I don’t want to live on this planet anymore. There are soooo many better ways that they could have added difficulty to this game, ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, but in a group setting. But I’m guessing that’s to tough for all these people who actually think this is hard….
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Tequatl would like to have a word with you.
I shall ask this question 1 last time before I decide you have no real answer. What’s hard about Teq right now?
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
So you agree with me that spamming “1” is not going to win the fight? I mean, how does one rez while doing nothing else?
The fact here is that people are mad that they can’t beat the new Tequatl. This is Elite level content. Players who understand the game mechanics, and thus USE the mechanics to beat a hard boss, are clearly in the Elite league. Meteor Shower, Ice Bow, Banner Rez, piloting turrets, etc.
Wow, just, wow. I’m almost speechless. THIS is the Elite level content people wanted? This is what people have to do to become elite? I’ve always though Player skill was the way to become elite, but I guess I just have to guest to BG/TC and sit in overflow for 8 hours till someone DCs to become Elite. Sounds fun?
Although I don’t disagree that the people on the turrets during the winning Teq fights are better than the rest of the zergball, but honestly that’s not that hard.
It is fun when you use your skills to beat a hard boss. Soon, all World Bosses will be like Tequatl.
you mean not being done and forgotten? developers like it when they create content that people ignore because its not worth the effort.
you may have some large guild organize a event to kill it, but is it really worth it? to create content thats only done by large guilds for kittens and giggles? This is only one single event in the Open World. Shadow Behemoth is easy. Fire Ele is still doable. Putting something hard in a tiny area of the World Map, and the game becomes meaningless? There will be those who ignore the hard/challenging/elite content, and there will be those who seek it out.
Where is the hard/challenging content?
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
So then why is it that all servers aren’t able to beat Tequatl each time her spawns.
Still didn’t answer my question.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Zedd> Agree. I think people are using ‘requires many people’ as a definition for ‘elite difficulty’. To me, the difficulty should be irrelevant of numbers.
I’ve been trying to get people to understand this all night, it’s not working.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light

I have this feeling you are the one getting carried through every type of content in this game….
HOW IS THIS HARD? Noone has been able to answer this. His attacks aren’t hard to dodge, it’t not hard for a server to fight off the attackers around the megalazer, and anyone with half a brain can use a turret unless they are afk/trolling, or haven’t done the event before. All it takes is a HUGE ZERG sitting in a spot that the turrets can buff everyone to oblivion.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light

I agree with Mad. Scaling + minimum required players is a really good compromise. That wouldn’t be considered a nerf, and it would still keep Teq as pretty Elite/Challenging.
So hey! How many times did you beat Tequatl v2.0 with a zerg spamming “1”?
CLEARLY me not beating Teq 2.0 is all on my player skill right, riiiiight. Doesn’t have anything to do with 100+ other people in the zone fighting/akitteng him.
I’ll just put this here since I still feel this is a better solution, since it focuses more on individual player skills instead of 100+ people having to follow the orders of someone with 100g that bought a blue dorito.
Watching the BG video, most of their DPS people DID’NT dodge the waves and stayed in the poison and went down multiple times. It was actually kinda sad that basically all it took to defeat him was 100+ people standing as close together as possible, and 6 competent people on the turrets that knew to hit Teq with 2 every time it was up and to cleanse/buff the zergball as much as possible. Oh and a few people to kill the risen around the turrets.
What they should do instead of “nerfing” Teq, is to cut his health by 1/2, make him do his Wave about twice as much in the first phase, increase the poison, whirlpools. Double/triple the amount of risen going after the turrets. Keep the defending of the megalazer and such(I really like how they added a new dimension to the boss fight). Basically what I’m saying is to increase the rate of his normal attacks making it harder to just stand and DPS him, while also decreasing his health to make it reasonable to be able to kill him while dodging/rezzing/killing risen.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Clearly “hard mode” bosses in your book are just stationary foes with 2 attacks and a MASSIVE health pool. No other way to make a boss fun/“elite”(such a stupid saying) right? This ISN’T HARD, why can noone get that through their thick skulls, all it takes is a HUGE group in a precise location SPAMMING 1 just like how you say you don’t want bosses to be. So plz kitten and sit down.
Clearly you are missing the point that Penguin was making. Whether Tequatl is a simple stationary boss with limited attacks is irrelevant to the minimum player requirement.
I think more than 30 players is a reasonable requirement for a world boss, which was the point that Penguin was making I think. And I agree with him. But I disagree that the minimum player requirement should be as high as it is now. 130+ players is a bit much. Hell, 80+ is already a lot.
I’ll agree with you that 30 is too low, and that 130+ is too high. I’m more against the rest of his posts, basically I think his opinion is crap.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Tequatl and all of his boss-brethren needed an update badly.
Standing around spamming 1 was terrible design.
I love his new mechanics. Jumping the waves is amazingly fun. The turrets being essential is great. Requiring players to both attack and defend is fantastic. That said, this is too hard for open-world content. Even if this was Zhaitan himself, no open-world content should be designed that a ‘regular’ group of players can’t complete it given some effort. That means that Tequatl should be able to be beaten by a group of 30~ lvl 65~ players in green~ lvl 65~ gear.
This dragon as is would be amazing in an instance. He puts Zhaitan to shame.
However in the open world, it just doesn’t fit the game that ArenaNet said they were making, and even as a player who enjoys challenging content (SAB Trib Mode, Liadri <3), I doubt I’ll continue to pursue this as-is.If it would only take 30 people to kill Teq, then it’s no longer an Elite Boss fight. At that point, you just made “Easy Mode” Tequatl. You might as well ask for the old Teq back, where you just stand under him and spam “1”.
Clearly “hard mode” bosses in your book are just stationary foes with 2 attacks and a MASSIVE health pool. No other way to make a boss fun/“elite”(such a stupid saying) right? Hahahaha… forgive me if I find it hard to show respect to people who give up in less than 24 hours after the patch, without having truly tried to beat it.
Actually people complaining here are still trying their best to beat it. UW Attempt 4, going borderline nighttime now. About the same amount of health taken as we did in the first attempt. People getting annoyed and angry at each other. One of my guildies went in, saw Teq’s health and left and because of that he is getting lots of hate right now. I’m the first one to ask for a nerf because I AM there trying again and again and again and I perfectly know just how frustration feels and how impossible it feels for this server. But feel free to continue disrespecting us further.
This. I was there with Mirta. You think all those people failing the event are bad players? This is the same as when Fractals just came out. The content wasn’t too hard, just the way it was presented was severely lacking. You had to spend hours to actually find likeminded people. I joined a Fractals guild back then and had about 100 people on my friends list who continiously asked me for an invite to my party. It was a pain, but atleast it payed off. Right now, there is no way for me to organize it just so that I can actually play with decent and motivated players.
Tomorrow I might guest on Desolation and/or join in on the TKS attempt. Even after I got the kill, I will continue to try and help my server to get it aswell, because there are a lot of people there that are actually trying to make it despite those that are just dead weight. Our best attempt was actually when people on turrets were afk for the first few minutes. It’s great that you are on a server with a lot of cooperation, but 40 out of 43 servers (I’m not counting Vabbi) don’t have that luxury. But like Mirta said, feel free to disrespect us and our continuing frustration even further.
EDIT: I played on the vanguard of Fractals, I killed Liadri within a decent amount of tries with my squishy thief, I’ve done SaB TM world 2 about 6 times now. But I must be a kittenty player for hating that this content isn’t instanced.
But, but , but, it’s clearly individual skills to sit in the zergball and press 1 and 6, and if you see one pick up a Frost bow and press 4. CLEARLY skill involved there, right?
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
it’s a wave
a wave of tears from the spam 1 world boss farmers
What do you think it took BG to zerg down Teq? Sitting in 1 spot using all your damage skills over and over while the turrets buff you till each of the 25%, 50%, 75% phases pop up? Anyone who thinks this is much different is blind.
Very true.
There is more to it obviously. Those people have to know to dodge out of the way of the waves, and not stick too long in a poison puddle. And the groups on turrets need to be well coordinated to keep up those buffs and poison removals.
But after that, it’s basically just boss DPS 101. Stack and spam attacks.
Edit: Added my ideas on how to make this a fun fight, not a DPS check.
the problem with this is if you spread out, you can’t res thus you lose tons of dps with 20 people running back. If they add more damage to the waves or the “puddles” or increase the frequency it would make this fight truly impossible.
That’s why I’m advocating DECREASING his health to a place where it would be managable for group of people to actually have to dodge his mechanics, but also kill him in the 15 min time period.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light

Then you haven’t paid enough attention to what was going on in the video. So let me explain:
Skills that have the mechanic “hit large-areas-multiple-times-randomly” are broken on objects and world bosses because those have huge hitboxes, so they’re going to get hit for the (almost) full potential damage of those attacks:
- Ice Bow’s Ice Storm creates about ~20 icicles that fall on random spots for 700-1500 damage each – that’s 14.000-30.000 damage in a single skill in about 4 seconds.
- Meteor Shower creates 24 meteors, each of which hits for 1000-2000 damage, and usually 12 hit the boss – that’s 10.000 damage in a single skill.
- Lightning Hammer’s Lightning Storm hits for 350-750 about 10 times – that’s 3500-7500 free damage in 1,25s.
- Fiery Greatsword’s Fiery Rush has a fire trail which deals similarly insane damage to the above.
In comparison, a full Hundred Blades with 20+ might stacks does 5000-ish damage in 3,5s.
So if we assume there are 15 elementalists (there were more than that), that means 30 ice bows every 1min. Let’s assume every Ice Bow uses Ice Storm 1.5 times (some people use it twice, some don’t): that’s 630.000-1.350.000 extra damage provided by only 15 elementalists (not counting Meteor Showers and Fiery Greatsword attacks).
And even with that broken damage scaling, they only had ~2,5 minutes left. That HP is just too much, especially without those skills that clearly don’t behave they way they were intended to.
I’m confused. First you say I wasn’t watching the video, explain something anyone that has done AC knows about, then basically tell me I was right because it took a couple dozen Eles putting down Ice bows to even have a chance to kill him. When I’m advocating decreasing his health and adding MECHANICS to him instead of standing there in a Zergball and rezzing when people don’t dodge.

Basically what I’m saying is to increase the rate of his normal attacks making it harder to just stand and DPS him, while also decreasing his health to make it reasonable to be able to kill him while dodging/rezzing/killing risen.

it’s a wave
a wave of tears from the spam 1 world boss farmers
What do you think it took BG to zerg down Teq? Sitting in 1 spot using all your damage skills over and over while the turrets buff you till each of the 25%, 50%, 75% phases pop up? Anyone who thinks this is much different is blind.
Very true.
There is more to it obviously. Those people have to know to dodge out of the way of the waves, and not stick too long in a poison puddle. And the groups on turrets need to be well coordinated to keep up those buffs and poison removals.
But after that, it’s basically just boss DPS 101. Stack and spam attacks.

Edit: Added my ideas on how to make this a fun fight, not a DPS check.

Just like to say, the Anet worshippers are as bad as the people crying about a nerf. Take a step back both groups and look at it objectively. The QQ are saying nerf it NOW, while the others are saying wait a week! Nerfing it now is reckless, it HAS only been up for a short time, Waiting a week has the increasing chance that the area will actually become a ghost town and first week of LS will be a failuire. So both need to just suck it and tighten it up, so tighten yourself up. Im talking about the naughty opera, Go live the your not boss of me dream.
It looks like Anet does not have any indication of putting a nerf. I mean they congratulated the server who got it first. It kind of says, we are happy with it and someone beat it. So let Anet do what it wants and hey if you do not like the fight, your failing over and over, dying and wasting gold, then do not do it. Just move on and let those who love to do the event over and over failing so to figure a way. I personally am going to wait for everyone else to find a way so I can run some dungeons and I’ve failed the event 7 times so far. Enought for me. So as I said Tighten it up!
It’s what I did, and it feel like a good portion of my server did. I just wish Teq had real difficulty instead of the artificial difficulty of a high health pool. This had made me lose what little faith I had left in the Live Team. At this point we should just let the people who like artificial difficulty do what they want, while the rest of us trickle to other games.

With you and the DnT crowd coming in here there is no way for anything to become a true discussion.
You shouldn’t generalize so hard, it makes you look bad.
I’ve lurked on these and the dungeon forums to know exactly who is trash, and you sir win the prize.

This is a different topic, but I would like a way to judge whether a player is suitable for grouping or not. The ideal would be a way to tell what their stats currently are; ie. are they zerk or pvt, what’s their actual AR, etc..
No, there should be no way for this ever. This leads to the most horrible elitism. People kicked because of what build they are (even if its viable, but someone just doesnt like it), because they wield a weapon someone in the party doesn’t agree with, because they’re wearing only half berserker and half something else.
The only part of this I would agree with is AR as it is required for that particular dungeon. Noone should have to be subjected to random kicks and exclusion for playing in viable gear or a viable build but its just not the accepted norm. Regardless if that’s your intention, I guarantee it would happen. I’ve played an MMO with that (get a window with other players full info) and it was terrible.
On the flip side, should a dungeon party have to put up with a non-skilled, inadequate geared player? No, but you still have the option to kick at any point when that becomes evident. Once you implement this, theres a lot of conform or GTFO.The legendary as a “gold grubber” item is simply unfortunate. If it had been done with grouping required, it could have been a useful indicator. Now, it’s not. Would you have preferred it to be a sign of skill or as it’s become, a sign of grind?
I would prefer it to be a sign of skill. But you cant say any different about Ascended. Its just a sign of mob tagging in a zerg. There’s barely any weapon or armor sets that point either way, especially with transmutation crystals. The only ones I could think of might FotM skins as they have to complete higher FotM’s to get the drop or an Arah set…..and both of these are still agruable either way.
What, are you worried your bad build with non-berserker will get you booted from dungeons?
I would seriously love for ANet to introduce a gear checker, I ask for gear pings anyway when I’m not in a hurry, it just means that people can’t lie and ping a set in their inventory or use the code anymore.
The game is full of elitism already too, just see how every third post of a berserker user on this forum gets replied to with “blahblah elitist”.
Why are you even in the General Discussion forums? Plz go back to that sewage dump called the dungeon forums. With you and the DnT crowd coming in here there is no way for anything to become a true discussion.
