To do the new Mystic Tribute that takes place of the old Gift of Fortune you will need:
200 T6, 500 T5, 100 T4, 100T3 of each Blood, Bone, Scale, Totem, Dust, Claw, Fang, Venom.
250 Mystic Coin
77 Mystic Clovers

The Fine Materials need to be combined into their respective gifts through any of the weapon crafts and you need the 8 Recipes that cost 10g each. Then those gifts are combined in the Forge.

If anything, the ppt population is the smallest in wvw. Almost everyone in WvW likes fights in some way. Very few people(eotm heros or yaks bend) like to only ppt and sit in a tower all day, ignoring fights and playing with acs to ward back to enemy. You should play more wvw and youd realize how many guilds are actually there.

You do know there is a MASSIVE difference between wanting fights and “GvGing” right?

Really? How many “GvGs” do you think happen every week? A few dozen, how about we aim high and say 50. 50×20people is 1000, of course you have probably the same amount of “GvGers” sitting out that week and not able to find matchs so we double that and say 2000 total people wanted to “GvG” this week. 2000 total out of the entire gaming population. Of course those numbers are just a guess, but I would bet I’m not super far off.

I guessing that “massive” so called “GvG” population as you put it is a small % of the entire WvW population. Which just so happens to be a small % of the entire games population. Yes people had to put up with it to do any type of larger scale pvp with their guild, but it was never really supported or widespread.

I tried to be reasonable and give explanation. You, therein, proceeded to nit pick at everything for minor, minor details. I told you I was done before, and I’m satisfied because I know I’m right – it’s not pay to win regardless of how badly you and the others want it to be.

You will have to excuse me because I have more important things to do with my day (and the three hours of sleep I managed to get last night) than sit here and go through detailing the real definition, it’s sources, evidence, my research etc. with a fine tooth comb (which apparently I’m supposed to take your word for doing also) to satisfy your need to be right over something you’re arguing just for the sake of arguing (hence the counterarguments) .

Because it’s not up for debate. Your perception of the definition of Pay to Win needs adjustment, while mine and the others like mine do not.

Mendons and Anz are hard to upgrade, because they are the “outside” towers on the red side of the map. While Veloka and Ogrewatch are the inside towers so they upgrade MUCH quicker. IMO doesn’t need changed at all.

Edit: To clarify all 3 corners have 2 inside, and 2 outside towers on them, Red side just has the 2 inside on the right side of the corner and outside on the left of the corner, while the other colors have 1 inside and 1 outside on the same sides of the corner.

Maybe I should try a new approach and instead of buying stack after stack of ToT bags and opening them all, make a new account and open 1 bag which will contain the mini to bad it would be stuck on the new account cause its account bound :p

Sometimes I hate this game.

I don’t think the devs understand the hatred that comes from this happening.
(I’ve now opened close to 55,000 and still nothing other than 7 cheap Zuzu minis, which I had already used 12 cobs on before I had it drop….)

All this talk about fighting the bosses is irrelevant. Take it somewhere else.

Just an update.

I’m currently up to ~15k bags opened with not a single mini in sight. Only loot worth noting was an Endless Tonic in my first few thousand.

For perspective, that’s around 1200g total.

~23k, no mini, no tonic, got recipe worth 1 silver.

Holy crap. That’s insane.

I opened about 45,000 ToT bags last night. 1500 bags were giving me around 10g profit and at worst no loss last night so I stayed up opening thousands of them hoping for something from them and I didn’t get any of the new amulets, everlasting tonic, or mini. Oh well, ended up with like ~50 stacks of Dragonite Ore and brought my magic find from 194 to 207.

Ok, guys. Some of you are unhappy about this change, I can see that. BUT… quite honestly, most of you are sort of (I hate to use the word) ranting (sorry!) instead of offering suggestions.

I assure you, the team leader told me not 15 minutes ago, they will listen to suggestions.

  • Does that mean you get everything you want? Probably not.
  • Does that mean you should suggest something? Yes, of course! Because they’re expecting player input.

So you want lower increments? Think it through and present a suggestion! You want XYZ in the interface? Post that idea. You would rather see something else? Post what you think about that other thing. Please don’t get into the whole “I’m going to kick the devs and their little dogs, too” because it’s not doing you or us any good at all.

I’m not here to apologize. I’m here to communicate and right now, the communication is coming in without a whole lot of substance. Over to you for suggestions and constructive input!

You know why it’s coming through ranty? Because we feel like you just spit in our faces. First with the change in the first place, and then NOT APOLOGIZING FOR IT.

Hey there,

Here are a few tidbits from the team:

  • A lot of newer players had trouble with the interface. That doesn’t apply to you, you’re veterans who have been around the conversion block a time or two. But newer players will benefit from the updated system.
  • The goal was to make the Gem Store more like other shopping experiences, and if you think about it, there is more of that feel to it now.
  • You may be surprised to know this (I know I was) but very few people bought gems at smaller denominations than the first one offered in the new system. That’s not to say they never did, nor that there wouldn’t be the desire to do so. But overall, the current options were selected based on player purchases in the past.
  • The team is going to listen to your feedback and, if and when it’s practical and desirable, they can look towards adjusting the new system to better meet your needs.

So please keep your thoughts coming on the new system. Feel free to make suggestions but please, keeping them constructive would be very much appreciated.

Yup, that’s complete BS and anyone can see that. Had it started at 10gem>50 gems>100gems>200 gems>400gems then it would be about functionality, but not the way it is. I’m done buying gems, and I hope other people follow me on it.

It’s especially fun when someone is dueling someone in the middle of the road you kill him and you get pms along the lines of: “GTFO WE DUELING SCRUB!!!1!111!1!!”. Dueling is fine and I enjoy it also, but if you get ganked by someone in the middle of a duel get over it.

There’s some encouraging signs that YB might stabilise in T2;

We’re not PPTing very hard at all right now, not like seasons;
We gained a significant guild in SG;
There’s a fair few regulars taking a break right now;
We got a fair few individual transfers during seasons that still turn out. this includes OCX;
Our few ‘for fights’ guilds are having a blast.

Throw in the fact that by all reports SoS lost OCX guilds, making the tier more competitive.

I doubt T3 has any servers to replace YB at this point, population wise.

I missed this whole week because my power supply died. Very uncool lol

Ya, except, ya know, they’ll just come back with catapults and PvWall which is longer and more boring.

Boring = bad, 100% of the time.

You do know you can disable those also? And build counter siege, it’s clearly a learn 2 play issue.

The fall tourney failed because there is no risk, and no real reward.

Let’s shake it up a bit and solve the population unbalance in a more fair way rather then closing servers down just for the sake of it…

Servers placing 3rd in their respective tiers over a 8 week period will be closed down, and players forced to jump servers to one of a different tier for no charge!

You think your server is worth fighting for? Prove it!

On a side note, I am on Blackgate, but this is not an idea that spawns from that. An 8 week tourney gives jq and tc just as much advantage to 2v1 us and get rid of is once and for all! This goes for a lot of other tiers as well!

Discuss…

How about instead of allowing a huge amount of the WvW population to stay on 1 server(lets say hypothetically its Blackgate) we shut down that 1 server and make those people switch to other servers.

See I can post stupid ideas also.

How about scaling RNG in favor of those who repeat the event? Those that have killed him 100 times be 1% more likely to get something better than the new players or something along those lines.

People have put this idea out there for Teq, Fractal skins, and even Precursors from the mystic forge, I doubt it’s even remotely going to happen. Everything Anet does for this game anymore is to get you to log in 1 more day, and RNG is the best thing they can think of to do that(which is honestly sad).

I’ve had some weird experiences with MF for a while now. I don’t use it very often but in the last few weeks i’ve thrown in same types of rare weapons i got as drops in hope of getting some skins i don’t have and on a remote chance i may get a precursor lol.

What i’ve found is very often, i’d put in 4 rare daggers for eg all lvl 80 and i would get a bow, or an axe or a trident instead of another dagger. This happens quite often too with various weapons. I thought that if u put same type of weapon in there, you would get same type back. So i don’t know if this is a bug or what, but it’s kinda annoying to get that.

I’m sorry but that doesn’t happen, with over 5000 rare weapon forges that has NEVER happened to me. Most likely you threw in a weapon that had the same icon but was a different type.

As to the OP, even though you can get lower level exotics the rare at which precursors drop doesn’t seem to have changed since the update if you go off of the data people have put out on reddit etc.

I don’t know if this was mentioned anywhere before, but while doing the personal story now you get a few new bags of loot, but you also get NO loot from mobs while doing them. It leans pretty badly towards not getting nearly as many rewards.

Hi,

Just a quick clarification about the initial video: this is a preview of the September 2014 Feature Pack collection and it shows rewards that are unique to the collection feature, but they’re not precursors. These rewards are the named exotics that drop from Champion loot bags.

They should have had all of that by the 2-year mark, that’s the point.

This is what they should be releasing EVERY two years – even if it’s spread out over the entire two year period.

We’ve had two years of GW2, and we’re nowhere close to that level of content being released.

I’d give them good marks if they were even trying to do that – say, if they had released 5 new maps, and had definite plans for a new class.

But, and here’s the truly salient point: not only are we nowhere even remotely close to what I described above, Anet has been fairly clear that they’re not going to do that, either.

So where does that leave people like me who want lots more content?

Treading water in-game until something better comes along.

I won’t spend any more money on this game until Anet either releases a level of content I described above, or tells us in absolutely clear terms that they are working on all of that and will release it very soon, or that they have a plan to release the same amount of content (10+ maps, new class, new race, new weapons, new dungeons, core systems revamped) over the next year.

My issue isn’t so much with exactly how they release it and more with the fact that they have shown every indication that they are not going to. At all.

Everything you’ve posted has been right on the mark for my guildies and I also. At this point we are all just waiting for a better game to come around, because we don’t believe Anet cares enough to have been working on an expansion in the background. It’s sad because we’ve all been here since the beginning of GW1.

Chasing skin is worse million times then chasing progression in MMo

I’m on Spira’s side, but you sir are clearly in the wrong game if you want to chase Stats. GW2 was NEVER EVER EVER supposed to have vertical progression grind, it was supposed to be horizontal progression(added skills, traits, weapon sets, skins, etc). What we have atm is really neither since we have had 5 traits per profession added, and mostly Gem Store skins.

It is still a sad way to behave. The one that truly deserve the spot should be the one that get there period. Mag was demolished in all the tournaments and it is not what is making us implode now. Yes, whoever end-up 6th in gold league is doomed. You will at best be 5th if you try effing hard. But knowing this in advance there is no shame in not making the best score. Too many play to win instead of playing as winners regardless of end results. If your server is so full of people who will only play if they win it might be good news for you if they go elsewhere…

I don’t think you understand, T3 is FUN right now. There are 5 VERY even servers right now. If Season 3 is set up even halfway decent, and none of us end up having to move into gold, it’s going to be a fun 4 weeks for all of us. Of course this could all be for nothing if we don’t even fight each other and have to fight the lower servers in Silver for the 4 weeks….

The majority asked for other things. ESPECIALLY END GAME THINGS – which, based on the latest interviews we won’t be getting anytime soon.
In order to please 10% of the players who will find their own way anyway (same as everyone else did), they are ignoring the wishes of the veteran players who are asking for more or less the same thing for 2 years now. and they always get the same reply “it’s on the table”. Listen – I wrote this to express what MANY players think. I’m not really looking for an argument but for ANET to see and hopefully realize that we are in need of actual endgame features and content more than an even better leveling experience which we will forget as soon as we reach level 80 (so, basically around 1 week).

Sadly most of the people that are going to post in this thread are going to be negative towards you(like is already pretty clear). I feel like there are only a handful of people on left on these forums that actually wish for the game to get BETTER. Everyone else stopped coming here, left for another game, or got banned.

Actually it was said that failing an event intentionally to get more rewards than you normally would is considered an exploit.

A fix is currently being prepared for this issue.

While the behavior (design) of this event was acceptable in the past, changes in the game over time have created an environment around this event that has become increasingly toxic (for the community) due to unintended use/change of mechanics.

Players should not feel that they are in the wrong for completing an event (or event chain), and that is what is happening with this event. The respawn timer for this event will be significantly increased.

There are really two sides to this, and when it comes down to it, you are both right – and you are both wrong. Both sides have the right to complete the task that they set out to do (completing or not completing).

Challenging another player’s play style is the issue here, and since this revolved around an event that was designed to be completed, it is being changed so that the original design of the event can be carried out.

When something in the game (such as this event) changes negatively as this has, we need to step in and remediate the toxicity. The byproduct of this change happens to be that a champion farm is being slowed, but since that was the originating factor for the toxicity, it’s unavoidable.

I encourage players to remember that not everyone has the same goals when they play, and sometimes they will clash.

Servers Tanking Before Tournament

Do you even understand why servers like Dragonbrand are tanking? Sorry but no thank you to another WvW tournament like Season 2. #6 in Gold league because other servers managed to out-tanked us on their way to silver. Were it not for the ticket fiasco we wouldn’t even have a weapon skin. This server learned its lesson last season by not tanking hard enough.

This is the kind of mess you get when you have coverage wars, a slow-moving rating system, bandwagon servers, and rewards heavily dependent on performance within a league/matchup.

Whichever server moves up in our matchup is going to be so screwed…Sadly it looks like if one does it will be us.

Feeling disapointed and Bored

Well, I wouldn’t say there’s a remotely high chance at a precursor, but I think it’s more likely than regular mobs, and even if I’m wrong, it gives good loot otherwise, with a decent chance at some worthwhile drops.

Other world bosses don’t come close to Teq/Wurm (I assume, as I’ve never been in a Wurm map that was even close to success)

They don’t really reward better(other than karma). The chance for good drops is the same as every other world boss/boss in the game little to none unless you have extremely good luck.

What rock have you been hiding under? Plenty of people on the forums have asked (or demanded) that the Living Story be stopped for something else.

Actually most people haven’t. Most people are asking for MORE, as in New Skills, New Races, Many New Zones, New Legendaries, New Dungeons, etc. You know, stuff that is usually in an Expansion(most of the people I have seen asking for this would happily pay for it myself included). I also understand that maybe they don’t have to resources to do both, but I wonder how that is. The last time we heard there was only around 20 people working on the LS at any 1 time. I know there are a lot of non dev workers at Anet, but still Anet has over 300 people working for them, where is the real content? 2 New Zones, 2 New traits for every class, “2” New healing skills, and Fractals. 2 years and this is what we have? Yes there have been new “features” added, and stuff have been replaced(not new), but EVERY game has stuff like this added.

Honestly, I don’t even know why I’m posting anymore because I’ve given up on this game. I’m only here till I find something better(sadly ArcheAge isn’t very good imo). I know I’m not going to change the minds of the people who think Anet can do no wrong. I know my guild and I won’t be here any longer than till a better game comes around, which is sad for me because I love many many things about GW2, but I also can’t play the same stuff for years and years again(I already had to do that in GW1 while waiting for this game).

Edit: Also EoTM was added(6 months to create a single map makes me sad)

Players really want:

  • New Dungeons/Fractals
  • New Dungeon/Fractal Rewards
  • PvP modes/maps
  • Guild Halls (GvG)
  • New Legendaries
  • New Weapon and Armor skins (No RNG)
  • Precursor Crafting

Actually, I don’t want any of those things. I do want Living Story.

Guess what? People aren’t asking them to stop doing LS, you literally would lose NOTHING.

Character /age bug

I made five characters probably within five minutes of each other during headstart and wrote down the “birth dates” of each. This year, /age was showing 370, 368, 365, etc, instead of 370 for each.

I was concerned until I remembered: I forgot that I created those toons to reserve names and then completely forgot that I re-rolled a couple of times during the week (to get the looks right).

Worse, I remember that this confused me last year, too.

@OP: not saying this is what you did, only that such a scenario is far more likely than some bug randomly changing the start dates of a few toons.

Regardless: today, those “missing” few days are annoying, but by next month, it won’t matter at all.

Ya that’s not what happened, I kept my characters exactly as they were because of GW1 and expecting the Bday presents to be the same. It’s funny because one of the characters that still has a day left now actually got the first years Bday present earlier than the one who got it last night.

So during the headstart I made 5 characters within 10 mins of each other. I’ve deleted 2 of those since the beginning of the game and 1 of my characters has the correct /age of 730 days, and I got first birthday presents all on the same day last year. Somehow 2 days have gotten lost on 2 of my characters in the last year. How does that happen?

Pretty cool. I wonder why they only chose to have 4 colors instead of doing it this way. Maybe it’s a big resource sink… I don’t know.

No one knows about Ctrl C + Ctrl V at Anet so it takes much longer to copy and paste.

Try to move your troops better so enemy doesn’t have much larger group, use siege or you can always try to play better and kill much larger group.

Oh god don’t tell them to use siege. Look at how much these “awesome” servers rag on my server Yaks Bend for using siege in open field fighting. I agree with the earlier post in that the “GvG(I don’t think anyone should call it that) guilds” killed themselves off.

Idk what you’re talking about since YB has a large active population in WvW? Maybe if you count our PvE base, but definitely not WvW’ers. Its some NA players who sleeps very little and fight during OCX/SEA.
We hardly see queues on reset night (maybe for 10 mins), that’s it.
Seriously, T1? LOL

Our massive 10-15 people across all maps after ~2am est LOL. I always feel like people think we have like 10x the numbers we actually do….

Welp, after finding out that new Dungeons aren’t even on the horizon, my guildies and I are pretty much only going to be here until a new game with ideals close to what GW2 had at the beginning comes out. It makes me sad just how much different the game is becoming than the one I loved back in August of 2012. Had you told me in August 2012 that GW2 would have had so little added to it in 2 years as it has I would have laughed in your face, but now that we have gotten to this point it just makes me sad. It’s been becoming more and more clear the last ~8 months or so that GW2 now isn’t the game for me, at least I got my moneys worth out of it. Now I just have to hope that either Anet decides to start creating new real content, or a new game comes out.

Respectfully disagree. The BLTC forum from what I’ve seen is just one big, self-congratulatory conversation, where people who have differing views from the majority are shot down with snarky, condescending remarks from the economist, which are then fervently echoed by his cronies. What follows then is comments such as “John for PRESIDENT” and “I love it when he does that!”. Very productive? I think not.

Please do not emulate that style tyvm.

This x1000, I’ve stopped even going to that portion of the forums because I know anything I say(either constructive criticism or agreeing with someone criticism) will be shot down and be attacked with half baked economic ideas, and finally a red post will come in and basically make it seem like anything negative said is a joke. It makes me sad whenever I see a post in because I know it will be some snarky comment that totally demeans the poster, and it makes me realize again that the economy portion of the game will never be any better than it currently is. The forums should NEVER be like that, and I have a feeling the devs actually creating the content in game don’t want it like that either.

A return to GW1 mentality

A small-scale WvW map reminiscient of the old Alliance Battles. Overflows like EotM and throws 5 players from each server against each other in a battle that does not require siege equipment. Control points guarded by veterans.

I like this idea, but I would rather have it closer to GW1 style, 5 person groups and each side has 3 of those group. Would make it a 15v15v15, with a couple different maps that could be selected at random.

Edit: Thought about this a little after I posted, and I would love for this to be a PvP addition so that it would use the PvP build and would not be balanced on the Rare/Exotic/Ascended of someone armor/weapons. Would also be better so you can change builds quickly before going back in just like in GW1.

CDI threads started.
MANY MANY posts by us forumgoers, some good idea some bad ideas.
The good ones get repeated, people talk over what would need to be changed to keep it from hurting the game/economy.
No Dev input.
People keep posting and posting feeling like no one is listening.
Next feature pack has nothing from the CDI’s people freak out.

Before we get too mushy here, folks, lets be clear about what Mike just said. He basically just reiterated what thier policy on communicating with their customer base. If that’s all you need, then good for you. But what I really want is a broad understanding of their current and long term goals.
Lack of communication only leaves for speculation. Speculation mostly leads to built up hopes, which cannot be achieved.
Everyone loses with their current policy. The only reason they have it is to have something to fall back on and avoid blame if they can’t meet their goals, which to me, is a cowardly way to run a company.
It certainly isn’t innovative

I wish more people understood this…

I think just seeing a couple new red posts on the forums has people believing that Anet is going to actually start communicating, but we had just as much back before the first Feature Update, and we all know how quickly that dried up afterwards right? Right? Well we already have the half dozen or so “white knights” going after anyone with criticism in these threads already so it’s time to get off the forums for the day already.

if it was permanent in the first place, you’d be bored with it by now.

So what? I don’t get this statement. EVERYTHING gets boring, but having it in the game all the time would mean I can go back to doing it WHENEVER I WANT. I wouldn’t have had to play SAB for a month straight burning myself out since I knew it was going to be gone afterward.
