Norn thief is probably the best, especially when you take feline grace, energy sigils, rune of adventurer and pretty much have perma vigor. Best class to annoy and troll people. I dare say this is better than bunker guard because you don’t need to mitigate damage or knock people off from points they will simply pull their hair out from all the evades on their screen.

Or don’t run around in full dire/rabid gear if you want to take down a diamond skin ele.
DS is bad anyway, the way I play ele I need atleast 15 air, 20 water and 30 arcana. My old build before the nerf to our traits, exuse me that was an uncalled for statement I could get banned for insulting the developers ahem buffs was 15 air 10 earth 15 water 30 arcana that universally worked well with both a scepter mh build or dagger.
There was a time when you took 2, maybe even 3 eles in a tpvp match and bringing a warrior was a joke. This was all before dogged march, cleansing ire, zerk stance remake and healing signet buff.
Actually I’m glad d/d ele is no longer a ‘braindead faceroll’ fotm class and I do have pictures of people claiming that. Funny actually how things change. Now nobody wants an ele.
If your group is looking for a new game DOTA always needs some fresh blood. I’ve been spending alot of time there because everything here is just boring.
chill is a support condition meant to help you land attacks easier, kite or catch people. offense or defense.
edit: if they made chill do damage per second it would be another brainless condi to spam.
I think the problem is you are using soldier’s amulet since the bulk of d/f dps comes from spamming lightingwhip.

I was playing on my ultra casual 4 signet condition PU mesmer and a warrior killed me instantly.
I mean the range on Bull’s Charge is so high you can never see it comming from that distance and the animation has no obvious sign. 100blade is instant and fast like the speed of light. Take a moment to observe a lamp or something in your room, you see the light moving? No? Because light moves so god kitten fast. You can’t even dodge 100blade or predict it comming. It has no real big animation unlike Pin Down which is the easiest thing to see comming and devs are nerfing Pin Down so you charge it like the Kamehameha. When the warrior casts 100blade on you the skill also roots you in place and the warrior evades everything during 100blade channel. What the heck is this? League of Legends? I like a game to have counters and not just revolve around pressing 1 button to win.
How are you suppose to counter 100blade I mean it’s the best weapon ability in the game you have to have some godlike skill in order to negate all the damage this does to you in under 3 seconds. All you need to do is walk up to people and press 2 they die instantly.
Also Frenzy should be nerfed from 50% action speed to 25% because 50 is too high and 100% would just make utility like timewarp OP.

low cd teleports/evades/invulnerability
1,200 range traited stunbreak
clones
shatter, which doesn’t have to be spec’d 30 illusions to be useful
I would be more concerned if a thief lost 1vs1 against an ele of the same skill level.

Fear not brothers and sisters of Tyria. My sources have confirmed to me if you are in trouble of being focused down, either pve or pvp format once an elementalist walks into the room they will instantly draw all aggro and selflessy save you.
Don’t forget to spam your autoattacks at mobs 1,500 units away.
Have you ever considered you are down all the time because you are playing gulp a ‘meta’ build? Play what gives decent damage and comfortable surviability.
just remove every class but warrior and guardian.
Anything over 2,600 armor is kinda wasted stats you can put into other areas. Besides you don’t want to hit like a wet noodle while roaming, do yah?!

I think we should have more NPCs with disabilities. They tend to have more of an emotional attachment for players (i.e. a certain apple selling charr). I just love the idea that Taimi’s “wheelchair” is her golem.
Some other ideas for NPCs:
Blind character born as a noble
Deaf character with a hyper partner that translates her sign language
Armless character with a talent for painting with her feet
Burn victim that’s emotionally scarred from a Scarlet attack on LAEdit… I think this deserves it’s own suggestion thread!

Real question: Why would you need quickness on a fresh air build upon switching to air if all air burst is instant? LOL.

You’re kidding right? On my thief eles are easiest class to kill, with LB rangers 2nd.
As a thief I have so many gap closers and my damage is so big I only need a few hits to put you down on an ele.
Good luck dodging me when im in stealth. What cc are you talking about. I lose conditions as soon as I enter stealth.
Roaming on my ele is 100x harder than on my thief. Mainly because every single class is a danger to an ele and you can’t really pick and choose your fights. My low health and armour on my thief is compensated for by my huge burst. Not on the ele!
I’ve killed all sorts of d/p players in wvw and spvp (assuming you d/p because d/d takes some actual effort). All I need to do is pop shocking aura in your black powder while you heartseeker through it. Your only chance at killing my ele is to run away and bring 5 warriors.
My only real trouble with thieves are good s/d players who take thier time trying to kill me instead of xXxeLiteNiNjAbuRstXxX.

So you able to see Thief in stealth?
Because seeing as outside of combat they have have perma stealth.
You have to SEE a thief to be able to get ready, you don’t see it. You die.
PROTIP:
You don’t need to see a thief in stealth to hit them.
I would wager everytime I killed a thief I can’t see because damage log won’t show the numbers you did to them in stealth (obviously).
Now if you’re fighting someone while your hp is low and a thief ganks you they are doing their job and you can’t really complain your class is weak. But the only time I ever outright died 1vs1 to a thief was on a joke 30/30/0/0/10 zerk build in some dueling server.

High vigor uptime or not mesmers have access to blocks, invis, protection, aegis, blinks, invulnerability, projectile reflection, soft and hard cc.
that video is kinda biased since the thief had to use energy rune sigil (can tell because was in combat with golem) and probably spec atleast 15 in the acrobatics tree. also thief can’t spam copies of themselves on every dodge and use them to shatter or just keep around for screen clutter.
question, if a thief is spamming 3 on shortbow it means he is doing little to no damage in return so what’s the problem here?

100blade should also do more 100% more damage to downed bodies. . .
I mean my reasoning is that 100blade is a melee skill so it should be twice as effective in terms of damage than an elementalist skill.
tldr version: buff 100blade damage and healing signet while removing the burn condition on dragon’s tooth and reducing the overall direct damage by 8& (random number it could be 9, 10 or 14%).
This has been suggested what I estimate a little over one kajillion (is that even a word?) times but if they worked like engy kits I would see no good reason to ever drop the FGS except for might stacking/healing purposes

WvW reason: a few eles were kiting and killing zergs by themselves while recording it all.
Spvp/Tpvp reason: you could simply RTL away, reset fight, cleanse every condition on you in seconds and go back to cleave everything.
People who think FGS is weak have never exploded 3 people reviving one downed guy with fiery rush + lightning flash.

I’ve met a rank 80 ele with tier 4 cultural armor and all he ever did was die to warriors/thieves/rangers/guardians/necro/engy NO SKILL ele please remove this class from the game please.

ok so the burst build that use in hotjoins is 0/30/25/10/5 with ether renewal, arcane wave, lightning flash and armour of earth for stomps.
the traits are:
Air – Bolt to the heart, Air training, tempest defense
Earth – Stone Splinters, Earth’s embrace
Water – Vital StrikingThe build is based all around damage modifiers as follows:
Bolt to the Heart – 10% more damage when foe’s health is below 33%
Air Training – 10% more damage when attuned to air
Tempest Defense – 20% more damage to stunned or knocked down foes
Stone Splinters – 10% more damage when within 600 units of target
Enduring Damage – 10% more damage when endurance is full
Vital Striking – 10% more damage when health is above 90%
Scholar Runes – 10% more damage when health is above 90%
Sigil of Force – 5% extra damage
So all up at total of 85% extra damage

The next part for somewhere around 5 – 7K

We need a super cool earth elite that doesn’t make me feel bad for instagibbing 3 people trying to res their downed teamate with the FGS fiery rush + LF glitch.
Elite from the idea behind Magnetic Shield, resonate the ground below you for minor initial damage (900 search radius) that applies a DoT (would scale very low with your condition damage stat just like guardian’s Binding Blade). For 5 seconds enemies have a debuff that cannot be removed while dazing them for every pulse of the DoT and refreshes based on the # of targets (max of 5) in the radius when the elite was activated for an additional 1 second per target (max 10 seconds).
Sub ability
At any moment the elementalist can stop the vibrations, knocking down each target afflicted by the DoT (max range 1,500).
So this elite would be fairly useless 1vs1 unless you somehow want to combo the knockdown with Grounded trait to setup a burst
