Sounds like to me your ele build sucks. What kind of dungeon ele doesn’t keep a spare focus?

you can easily get protection as a warrior, just get a warhorn and spec for the condition>boon trait. but you know, you’ll need to have a condition on you in the 1st place. :P

The devs are not going to balance classes out based on pve. . . oh wait.

You have a 2nd hp pool, lots of blinds/chills/weakness/fears and potentionally high protection uptime via traited wells/spectral armor/runes and you NEED vigor too? Stability every 5-10 seconds traited. Not to mention having best condition removal in game with staff 4, dagger 4 and a decent functioning heal that removes all conditions.

both Thief and Ranger have multiple easy ways to gain vigor. thumbs down, learn to play.

OP just taught me how to play guardian effectively.

I use a hybrid of valks and zerker gear with cav trinkets. Would that make me only half a casual or am I full fledged casual? Most classes already have easy ways to get perma fury (ele, warrior, power engy).

I like the idea but it worked better in FPS games like Front Line Force mod or TFC where playerskill matter and not just picking mechanically effective builds.

Hardly see any thieves in tpvp anymore. Rank 43. Unless they are all in hotjoin playing deathmatch? Well that’s where I see all the thief players normally.

And in hotjoin everyone literally runs rabid/shaman ammy + some type of condition build. The lack of s/d thieves running around means my 30 water ele does whatever he pleases 90% of the time.

Does anyone else see a disturbing lack of thief and mesmer players in tourney play?

I go 30/30/30/30/30 and just carry pugs all day in Arah.

Ranger is pretty much spam autoattack until your target dies. King of passive play not much apm involved.

Remember this is the same forum months ago that once said warrior was not viable and weak now everybody is crying how OP they are and they weren’t even buffed that much just a few streamers started to open peoples’ eyes.

I’ve actually seen people cry at ele dps saying the burst was too strong. Now anet will nerf ele dps and ele will have bad heals AND no dps so only the 1% of really really good players could only make ele useful with all the current handicaps.

And in Pve everyone just carries lightinghammer. Lots of build diversity, anet.

Just did a pug with 3 rangers in Arah and we didn’t even fail at Lupi. This wasn’t a speedrun but everything went fairly quick.

In other runs with guardians or warriors (despite there being video evidence of them killing lupi at alarming speeds in organized groups) we teamwiped on numerous occasions and I don’t think it’s a skill or communication barrier since PvE = cake. My main is an ele, mainly do tpvp/spvp and haven’t played in a month. Were rangers buffed? Where does all the ranger hate come from?

Does this mean I have to respec my ele to have vigor and actually dodge stuff?

Someone suggested me a super bursty type spec that is 30/30/10/0/0 with earth signet to setup your kills. It’s really challenging to play without any points into arcana or water like most ele players do.

Will just have to buy multiple copies of GW2 and vote for Evon to save the Queen.

facepalm You say ele ruined the fun of other classes but you could have easily stunned them or immobilized while they RTL. just goes to prove anet is faster at nerfing things than our playerbase is to adapting and getting better.

There is a thief trait that allows them to move 50% faster in stealth, remove a condition every 3 seconds and regenerate health.

So it’s not entirely impossible a bad thief who is losing to you can get away with ease.

well, you can also let someone immobilize you at melee range and whirl against them. same as a wall if not better because they will QQ at killing themselves by immobilizing you.

In all my tournies with friends I never felt my ele was useless. Could hold my own on their far point and run away if I was being zerged by the respawning waves, 1vs1 those annoying s/d jumper copypaste builds. 0/30/0/20/20 using D/F. Just can’t get use to scepter all the attacks are slow and easily dodged by anyone who can see red aoe circles or my character raising his hands to prepare a 1-2 second cast = dodge/daze/stun me now.

Also it’s very cool phoenix cannot be blocked. Got alot of kills with that bad boy. Probably my favorite scepter skill besides water trident and lighting strike.

edit: regarding that earthquake lightning flash burst combo into air, the way I play ele would rather keep a focus with me even if the damage is inferior to offhand dagger.

pretty sure 0-10-0-30-30 aurashare is NOT cookie cutter, but everything else about it was nerfed for some strange reason (bountiful power, cleansing water).

It’s pretty obvious and really funny you guys don’t understand what will happen. . . she is no longer seeing Logan but plottwist is now into our hero (female or male regardless) and Logan is pretty upset so he hires Tyria’s most cunning Skritt assassins (they are skilled skritt assassins only when together so he couldn’t hire just 1).

Just because you are wearing a rabid amulet doesn’t mean you are ultra tanky and immune to power/crit damage builds.

Yup, if you QQ enough anet will notice and nerf/buff just about anything.

This type of damage was always possible. . .except I do not see a 5k+ mug included in that picture (since mug was nerfed).

So in the end after those cheesy steal-mug-cnd-backstab builds got nerfed you can’t complain and should lrn2play. . . as others suggest. ^^

going to try this build. as said before there is no loss to you from testing this out in a few hotjoin matches.

actually have seen people in hotjoin who run that setup. the damage is pretty funny. when downed it’s plain scarey to be anywhere near them.

In pvp if you play Asuran warrior none can tell your moves/animations because you are so small!

Does anyone run rock solid in pvp? It makes stomping people easier (why waste mistform or scepter blind?) since we can’t body cleave like a 100blade warrior. Dare I say it’s a ROCK SOLID trait. 0-15-20-15-20

Times change and developers experiment with different things. Look at how the original CoD1 devolved into what it is today. Plently more examples but you guys probably get the point.

Also don’t you know Blizzard gave bot companies dupe techniques so they could make more money off of Diablo 2 together? Conspiracy theories!

I’m not sure what warrior has to do with ele since they obviously out damage everything. You posted a video of a warrior outdamaging an ele not even specced for damage in that video. How are you even staying on topic? Can you leave this thread pls if you can’t offer any insight to pvp ele kthx.

I really don’t want to see you on the ground half the time in pve and pve is already easy as is. Atleast show me a recent video or I’ll drop your claims all together. Protip you can’t have 3 guardians and a warrior babysitting you otherwise why bring an ele to dungeon?

Anyway ele is fine for tpvp and hotjoin (comming from an ele main). Some people should lrn2play instead of asking for constant buffs/nerfs. Sorry your IQ dropped but you are responsible for reading my posts and all. Who is forcing you to read and respond to me?

Bring a lightning hammer to a Arah or high Fractals run. Also never seen a ele player solo lupi with lightning hammer but with a dagger/focus instead. Using focus doesn’t automatically make you bunker or lower your damage output please learn to play real dungeons beside CoF before posting dumb things.

Just learn to play and dodge through marks. I’m glad necro got buffs and I don’t even play the class.

focus is for dungeon runs, which pvp is not.

Or you could all just play mesmer.

Axe autoattack does more dps than 100blade and you get to move while using it for free no cooldown!

Also please don’t bring full signets just use crit banner, empower allies and FGJ ty.
