With the reveal that ArenaNet are changing how F1-F4 skills work if you spec into an Elite specialization. My theory with Elementalist/Tempest is that attunements are going to have additional effects when you press the button again kind of like when you use Glyph of Elementals and Glyph of Lesser Elementals . For example
-Fire: Create a violent blast at your location damaging and applying burning to foes
-Air: With a gust of wind knock back foes from you
-Water: Reduce the temperature near you chilling foes
-Earth: Churn the earth around you creating quick sand which cripples foes
Apart from adding fifth attunement, this to me seems the most likely of what ArenaNet will do. Feel free to disagree.
Engineer can already do all this with P/S flamethrower toolkit nades.
Alot of people already knew there would be chill at end of necro GS auto.
But 4 seconds is alot.
I never die out right facing 2 opponents If I fight a large mid I can hold it and fight 1v4 for 30 seconds up to a minute. My 1v1 on point is 100% win. I can burst a double condi engineer and beet him ion 30 seconds or less if he has kit dropped on me give me 50-60 seconds. I can make him run off point but if he wants to die so be it. I was former top 200 on North America berfore the ladder changes in TSPVP and top 70 in solo rank entry. I’m mediocre but I have 3k hours on my elementalist which total around 55% of my time on guild wars 2 through wvw and spvp.
Did I ever told you a story before the battle of sigil, might nerf and Drakes breath nerf I can easily 1v4 in wvw against silvers.

I was rank 2 on soloq LB and still die to random mobs in open world pve. Rank is just an illusion. Anet will nerf your build into the ground and ability to 1vs4 pve players because only warrior and guardian should be able to do that.
one with air is actually good for zerker mainhand dagger builds in spvp as it lets you ignore chill/cripple for a short duration. I think phantaram made a note or something about how useful it is but can’t find the exact post.
of course this is probably falling on deaf ears because I suppose 90% of the ele community doesn’t play zerk mainhand dagger builds in pvp.

Lol as long as GS has a leap/movement spin in it I dont care what they call it. Banshee sounds fitting but shouts would have to be insanely good to replace wells in the meta. With shouts and GS I can finally solo roam without getting owned by every class?
Will GS auto have a chill at the end of the chain? That is what I observed Marjory using.
why take thief over ranger? ranger gives you frost spirit and spotter.
why not remove all important traits and make everything baseline

no, I think not. literally everything and anything works in pve. there is a video of a thief soloing lupi with only the caltrops on dodge trait. that’s how easy pve is.

GG I avoid aoe circles, deploy healing turret for overcharge/cleanse and it gets one shotted by a class or npc that can do more than 6k damage in one hit. As a member of this community I would like to complain and hope Anet reads this and nerfs damage in all game formats.
My healing turret gets blown up before I can overcharge and pick it up sometimes.

I’m curious and want to know why Anet thinks a 10k base health class with low armor deserves “on hit” traits. I’d wish they share more with us.
A 25s cooldown, traitable to 20s via Aeromancer’s Alacrity, would seem very reasonable. Might ANet actually consider that?
Doubtful, all the new Revenants (former Warrios) might whine too much about how Eles get away from all their shiny skills.
Likely, ANet will leave Eles old skills as is. After all, we keep playing them despite the issues, so what’s ANet’s incentive to fix them?

I would like to see ferocious winds reworked to something less vanilla and more interesting. Look at thief 7% crit chance while behind/side, great trait to support unique profession style in the same spot.
I would really like to see something more interesting
like increased ferocity while moving as an adept and also replace Zephyr’s speed with One With Air.Also look at the minor trait necro gets in power, different effects at 25%, 33,% 50%. Since you can no longer take Bolt to the Heart and Fresh Air, Bolt to the Heart should be buffed to do something else interesting, a condition or boon on hit at 33% would make it have more play to it than a flat damage buff. Also the vuln on crit is now pretty underwhelming compared to other traits, longer vuln duration perhaps?
Also either ferocious winds should give ferocity or the air training master should give ferocity, both seems overkill. Would be nice if something actually gave a bonus to precision, a flat 10% crit chance while in air, seems decent for air training, similar to the flat bonuses in fire and water for their respective trainings.
Given what other classes get, Air attunement should have a unique feel to it which I think is a combination of quick bursts of movement and damage. Traits should support these styles, not healing and a 10% flat buff to speed.
TLDR;
One with Air replace Zephyrs speed -> new adept
Ferocious Winds more interesting -> while moving, while having swiftness etc
Air training: 150 Ferocity becomes 10% flat crit chance boost
GM Minor Slight buff
Bolt to the Heart needs unique effect to keep different but as good as necro/thief traits
-> boon or condition on hit/crit etc
Kinda sad we still have that 10% flat movespeed buff.
My engineer has perma swiftness for 2 points in tools and all the damage traits go well together in firearms that make air look like someone fell asleep designing ele. Btw, guess who is making sure engineer doesn’t get the shaft? I wish every class had that sort of personal dev protection.
Although imo eles can’t really complain since necro has some of the worst traits in the game,

Been playing lvl 80 engineer in dungeons/fractals and here are my observations in comparison to how ‘broken’ ele is:
-Higher burst damage from cycling through rifle, EG, FT, nades but sustained damage is poop outside of nade 111111111111 vuln stacking which gets boring
-Lack of offhand focus means no easy mode
-Feels more active with 3 kits
-Farm more lootbags in wvw with nades
That said I’ve yet to find or come up with a non nade/bomb build that doesn’t make me feel like GW2 is a game about if you don’t use this one build you are a scrub.
I’m pretty sure anything works in pvp/wvw. 1111111111 like a boss.

Would you believe that the devs are not even good at their own game? I’ve played with a MM necro some months, maybe a year ago even and the guy was on Ready Up talking about balance changes to other classes. I still cringe at how he got into our teamspeak.
So what makes you think devs will reward skillful play in pve if they don’t in pvp?

So today I seen something truly remarkable, I checked the arah lfg and there was a 3 man group that said “P2 @ lupi pay 15s”, now you probably think your eyes are kittening you, this did not mean they needed help at lupi, no. This means they wanted you to pay 15silver to join the path which wasnt even near complete, and then carry them through lupi.
Guild wars 2 is a very strange game, it has a playerbase that dumbfounds me and amazes me at the same time, it is the only the only game i’ve ever played where the vast majority of players are straight up terrible at the game. I think a major cause of this is the fact that there is no incentive to get better as a player, I think they need to add a better reward system to the pve side of the game or at least remove the timegates on certain dungeon paths, obviously the easier paths should stay the way they are.
I think encouraging players to contribute in groups would cause less toxicity and improve their overall gameplay, open world is a mess at the moment because its complete RNG wether youll get a group that wants to complete the event or have it completed for them, and the fact that the ‘real reward’ is only given upon completion of the event just breeds hate as spending 30+ minutes on an event that may fail and give no reward is a poor design decision and gives the player the illusion that the events failure was no one’s fault.
Reward thresholds would be great for individual classes, imagine upon completion of a dungeon path it showed a scoreboard that kept track of damage dealt, damage taken, damage evaded/blocked, aegis uptime/ total % of projectiles reflected and time spent on each boss. If they made it so these thresholds had to be met before you would get a certain piece of the reward and made the rewards DESIRABLE, I feel that would be enough on its own.
TLDR: The playerbase is terrible at the game, add meaningful reward systems that will make players want to get better at the game and perhaps add thresholds that need to be met before you can obtain the reward.

Celestial builds do not have the damage of a zerker.
ranger is not a ‘archer’ class.
