Honestly if they made both into 1 ability idk what I would do with my build, I would have 1 extra slot and no idea what to take. I would be like a kid in a candy store looking at a wall of candy.

Take Minion Master -20% minion recharge… or putt some into another tree for some Def

If they made Staff Mastery and Greater Marks into one ability I would gizz all over myself since I have both in my build already.

Yeah, I’d be happy too. Greater marks is stupid as is.. Should be baseline… No one wants to spec a certain way to have a Viable use of a weapon. It’s pathetic.

Also I believe this patch will be june 25th as per when the “Coming Soon” is dated on the Dragon Bash page for Sky Pirates.

I may be wrong on the date, i have been hearing the 20th. Either way coming soon lol.

I would also like Minions to regenerate health, but ahh how we dream.

Most Necromancers I see in tPvP roll with a Minion Master build. Plus, if these changes do go through, more people might want to roll a MM, making your “no one runs it” pointless.

Most necros are MM in tPVP? I thought MM wasn’t viable in tPVP

Its not… or at least not as Viable as other rolls you can play. in tPvP having control over conditions gives necros an edge. however the point about having MM buffed and more people playing it is a good point… but should PvE be kitten just because of that?

Necro dps is okish. My only issue with necro is the lack of a melee aoe weapon.

sorry to double post but i wanted to address this, Axe + Dagger or Focus and Wells with staff, I feel like i do nice AoE dmg. I mean its not as good as some but we can make up for that in other areas.

Necros power is in its flexibility we dont really need to sacrifice DPS to kitten support to the party (maybe not Might stacking and Quickness) but dont underestimate Blind Weakness and Poison.

I have been playing Necro sense launch and not only is it not bad its kitten… Just to be clear i have a war and i lvled it (and a mez) just for speed runs, if your looking to run CoF path 1 over and over… well roll a war guardian or mes (tyvm devs for not fixing this yet…) The idea that this game runs best with pure glass cannon builds is just wrong.

My necro tts out really nice DPS not DPA like war but overall its stronger, i run PVT gear and have over 3500 atk my Axe #2 (yes i run Axe sometimes) hits for around 10k and its on a 6s cooldown switch to dagger for dagger #2 and #1 and i have a nice burst combo (not including wells) Plus i have 28k hp and 3k def

bottom line i will fight you, i will win lol =P

…and i dont care about speed runs so if thats your think then, yeah…

How are you hitting 10k with PVT gear?

the “P” in PVT stands for Powrer lol, jk jk. I was surprised as well but trust me with 3500 atk your pretty beast! Crit + Crit dmg ie zerker gear is better but i like PVT play style. ill have to find it but i recently watched a video of a necro doing around 30k with Axe #2 (it was obviously set up perfectly but still impressive) so its easy to see how thats possible and i should prolly clarify that it ranges from 8k – 10k depending on the mob.

Really i just want people especially new players to necro to understand thakittens a wicked powerful class and if its your style its a lot of fun but its really hard to master.

Pets can regen out of combat. So we can start on a good foot when we fight, just like anyone else does… We shouldn’t be punished for winning our last fight.

didn’t have that but i have alwase wondered if it was a bug that they didn’t because flesh golem does.

Realistically they wont fix anything meaningful if all we got was the staff fix (has been discussed by devs) i would be happy it would allow me to pick up Minion Master as a trait in my build.

I would be more than happy only with the following:

— Warhorn 5, Locus Swarm, Swiftness lasts 15 seconds, OR Cooldown reduced from 30 seconds to 25. (before trait)


Staff 1, Necrotic Grasp travels 20% faster.

Death Shroud:
— entrance to Death Shroud now removes all Cripple, Chill, and Immobilize effects.
—retaliation and stability duration on traits spiteful spirit (spite V) and foot in grave (soul reaping XI) increased by 1 second.

MM-General
Minions regain health outside of combat. (So we can start fights on an even footing.)
minions pathing is fixed, (minions can jump or walk around objects to reach their target..)

Spite
- New trait “Jagged Nightmare”: " Jagged Horrors no longer lose life over time. (can have up to three jagged horrors at the same time)

Death Magic
- Staff Mastery and Greater Marks merged.

Curses
- Focused Rituals changed to Ritual Mastery: Wells Recharge 20% Faster and are Ground Targeted.

these are enough IMHO to improve vastly the playing experience of the Necromancer.

^ this, honestly we can fix most of the issues with necros with just a couple of trait fixes.

1st for MM builds Training of the Master and Flesh of the Master should be combined and moved to a 30 pt Death Magic skill, And Staff Mastery + Greater Marks combo (for the love of god yes please) i really want to love my staff but taking 2 traits to make it sub useful is BS. Then an all over -30% or -50% AoE dmg done to minions would make them more viable in real content. also if we combined some of the traits it would open up a spot for us to take the Minion Master trait for -20% cooldown (instead of having to waste it on Greater Marks)

2nd for PVT necros IMHO death shroud is pretty OP (if you know how to use it) in pvp i lol at eles and guardians the only fix i can see not being OP is allowing us to get healing while in DS. Also fix the axe plz just give it a little dmg boost on its auto attack or let it stack bleed as well as vuln or something.

3rd for condition… there is no hope your… ok but not great and its not just necros its conditions in general so no flaming or QQs

TBH i would love to play MM and i do in solo PvE (and sometimes for fun in WvW) but in dungeon’s and real PvP the pets just die sooooooo fast and there really dumb. Hell give us a bar that controls our pets like ranger has.

A lot of what you said is what I suggested, and apparently was too “op” to ask for. :S

lolz i understand where your coming from, i think it looks OP because of all of the ideas putt together, those were just the ones i really agree with.

So just to start things off, i really don’t find necro’s to be as bad as most people claim it to be I feel verry powerfull and i love my class… been playing it sence launch (i have an 80 war and tbh i play my necro more lol) so keep your QQs and your super impossible wish list to your self lol.

Realistically i just want to post a couple of ideas (and hope the devs take note) I also want to discuss how some of you have built around some of the traits and ability’s we have struggled with.

Ok here it is.
I really want to love my MM and honestly i don’t think they need anything crazy. I don’t find pathing to be “too much” of a problem, a fix would be nice but the devs have said there working on it so w/e. what we need is some freedom in our traits.

The most realistic would be to combine Staff Mastery and Greater Marks into one trait. Other classes have -cool down + dmg or -cool down + ability traits for weapons why should we have to waste 2 traits just to make our staff work right.

The 2nd and a bit less probable is to combine Flesh of the master +50% minion health and Training of the master +30% minion dmg into one trait… this may be too powerful but considering how pets are atm i don’t think its OP to ask for.

The last thing really hindering minions is the fact that they die too fast to be useful in dungeons. We could fix this easy by simply giving them Resistance to AoE dmg i mean realistically -50% AoE dmg or even -70% wouldn’t break the game, its not like your pets will be tanking Dungeons and in solo PvE there is not that much AoE dmg. Also this would not really effect PvP because, 1 no one runs MM and, 2 You wouldn’t really focus the pets with AoE dmg…

Just some thoughts on what i would like too see obviously geared towards me wanting to play a viable MM I would also like to see the Axe become a better all around weapon because i see a lot of potential in it.

BTW if there is a better place to post this so the devs actually may read it ill just move it so let me know =P

Oh and about the defencive sigils, we get 3 different ways to regenerate endurance through traits and 2 through skills next to thfs we are the dodge kings even without sigil of energy. just sayin

LULZ! i play Engineer and i can beat any thf on a good day P/S is literaly built for taking on thief’s. Thats not an opinion its a fact in the current state of pvp and its not a bad thing there are always classes that are strong vs other classes.

Second i get the picture that you don’t compete at a high lvl (i.e. the lack in your engi may be skill based) not trying to burn you here honestly just want you to see that engis are one of the strongest all around classes in the game they just have a higher skill cap and a more difficult build.

and last point the slight dmg nerf to our weapons is compensated by other traits/skills (static discharge comes to mind… so does kit refinement (even if its nerfed))

so stop crying you made an interesting point GG but its not realistic and your overall concerns are invalid

FT build with 2 sigil of strength ?

I run a FT build with almost full Condition/Precision/Toughness gear 2xStr 2xFire 2xHolbrok runes and a sigil of strength on my main hand (pistol) but i run sigil of battle on my offhand for the 3x might on weapon swap. The above posts are right its fairly useless to run 2x on crit sigils due to the fact that they share a CD. i have also played with Sigil of Corruption on my offhand for the extra condition dmg but i like the extra might because it adds power as well.

With all that and 30 into elixirs i can keep 20+ stacks of might up at all times.

Final Rest, how do you get it?

Ahh i didn’t see where they said it was open world well that blows my theory but also that’s cool because it honestly narrows it down, i would still assume its a high lvl zone.

I wonder if its an event or simply a rare spawn.

there are hidden puzzles all around the world that are not tied to an event or pov/vista if no one has found it yet. Ill bet the boss is a rare spawn in a place like this. I doubt its just an uber rare drop all the events have been farmed enough for that to drop, its got to be something no one has seen.

I’m sorry if this has already been posted but TBH sense the post is 9 pages (good job guys btw) i skimmed it fairly fast. I have been looking for this staff for a while now and based on the devs comments i have a theory. The first dev said it was not crafted but came from a “LARGE chest” in caps like that, the second dev said it will drop from a rare boss leaving use to go “WITCH IS IT?!?!?.” I think its both in GW1 there was a rare monster called a mimic (i think that was the name, could be wrong) but just like the final fantasy series its a monster shaped like a chest.

They only appeared rarely in missions and dropped random rare weapons. I think we are looking for a random un-found event in a dungeon (probably story mode Arah or fractals)

My point here i guess is that i doubt its an event chain and i bet its a boss type we have not yet seen. Also likely that sense its an exotic lvl 80 staff it would be in a lvl 80 zone.

Just a hunch but what elce do we have. BTW if you found this would you sell it or keep it?
