Guild Wars 2

Until Solo Q gets brought back, I will not be PvPing in this game anymore. It’s a shame, because PvP is really all I do.. and since I don’t really play with anyone specifically, I mainly Solo into Unranked or Ranked (when I feel brave.) It’s unfair to those of us who don’t have people to Q with to have to go against teams. I know Solo Q probably won’t be brought back because Q times are already super long without adding another Q system, but there is always hope. Hope.. now there is a word I have seem countless times on the Guild Wars 2 forums.. you can hope and ask all day long… but they have their plans and they most likely will not listen. (don’t use HoT as an example of them listening) I’m just putting this post out there so everyone can see my opinion.. I will not be reading the comments on this post. Good Luck to everyone in this game, hopefully ( there’s that word again) you all will get what you are wanting from this game.
PvP is not worth doing… there aren’t any decent rewards at least for time spent PvPing vs time spent PvEing.
Had a ton of good memories PvPing in this game, but it’s just getting dull and old. I will not be buying the expansion and will not be playing this game no more… If I do log on it will be to talk to friends and that’s all.

LOL I LITERALLY JUST came here to delete this.. because I just noticed… it’s only an hour LOL im so kitten .

So I literally just used a Celebration Booster… and for some reason my character does not have the buff and the booster is nowhere to be found. I was in PvP… do any of the new gifts from the Lunar event override the Celebration Booster? If so.. I would like another back please. Because I’m a little upset that a whole days worth just went away for no reason. If I have messed something up please let me know so I know not to do in future.

I’ve been getting significantly bored with TPvP, so I have resulted in going to WvW. I have a question because people say(specifically CMDr’s on Blackgate) that Engi’s are useless in a zerg. I have Predator so I would like to use a power build, especially since almost every zerg runs the -40% condi duration. Anyone have any builds in mind? I have seen a few builds using Juggernaut and Flamethrower is that all we have to offer? I tried a Bombs Heal build for running with the zerg but it didn’t seem to work as well as I expected. (side note) can’t wait to be able to use the actual Legendary Juggernaut on my engi #hammertime. But anyways, can anyone send in the right direction as far as builds go?

Who cares… we knew what the leaderboards were gonna be.. So those people PvP’d the most to get there.. I don’t see a problem here.

I’m going to express my opinion here.. I agree there should be a “requirement” to join ranked. I also do not see how saying this is Elitist..
Also Unranked is “Chaotic” as you put it because that’s where most of the people we want out of ranked are. The problem with trying to HELP people… First of all in a dungeon.. you have endless time to try to explain something to someone. In PvP… people need to know what to do before they step in. YES they can figure out what to do in Unranked… so don’t use the “How are they supposed to learn what to do without doing it” argument. People may call us elitist or w/e they wanna say but I have tried countless times to help people only to be called a noob, baddie, etc by a people that say KILL BEAST EVERYTIME IT RESPAWNS only to die 1v1 vs Chieftain. I’m all for helping people… but I have realized there is no point anymore.. So that’s why I agree there should be a requirement to SOLO Q into Ranked.

I was in a duel arena and I get a pop up to join a match.. so I’m not sure if I should not accept cause I don’t know what is implemented at this point and what isn’t( I’ve heard it counts as a loss if u don’t accept) so I accept and get put into RANKED <<<<<<<< and of course we lost.. so now I get a loss anyways. Next time I get a random pop should I just not accept? Will it still count as a loss? I’m confused.

Yeah I will be honest there. I kind of panicked and didn’t know what to do.. was afraid if I didn’t accept I would get kicked out of the one I was in or something .. I was hoping if I accepted it would just go away.. but like 3 people from the past match ended up getting the same q pop.

I’m fine with getting paired with people who don’t know what to do as long as they will listen.. People complain about people with more experience yelling at them, etc.. but if people try to help and then they snap back saying ," I know what I’m doing" as they run into a 3v1 and instantly get downed then yeah most people will probably start getting a little frustrated.

Hi guys/girls! I’m just posting because PvP in this game is getting old.. I have had a LFT post in the forums for quite some time now and no1 seems interested.. which is fine… just letting everyone know that I am officially done with PvP.

Solo Unranked = get matched up against premades.. or get paired with complete dummies who don’t listen and call you bad when don’t carry them hard enough.
Also today .. I was in the middle of one tournament that we were winning and then I get a Q pop to join another one and end up getting put into a tourney that we got stomped 500 to like 100.. Don’t know how I got paired with people that bad.

I have over 3.2k hours in PvP ad it was fun while it lasted but I’m calling it quits.. It was nice making the memories that I made with whoever I played with. Goodluck to everyone in their PvP tournies.

Hello! I keep getting a firewall/router error. I actually went and removed my firewall and restarted computer and it is still giving me this error. I got with a few friends to try and see if I could with a team and it still is giving me the error. Could anyone shed some light on what I should probably do?

One warrior is enough and the only reason warriors are brought is for the Banner’s. Having 2 warriors is a loss of DPS…and having 4 + a mesmer? Idk why people do that.. especially for CoF.. yes that was the Meta forever ago for CoF speedruns.. People bring warriors because they are easy to play….We literally had a guy in our guild(don’t know how he even got in .. but anyways) he was telling us that because he hits 30k hundred blades that warriors have the highest DPS and it’s because people like this.. they think warrior stacking is good. Also, mesmer dps is pretty awful unless the fight goes on long.. which of course if you are in a speedrun guild then most fights don’t last really long.. maybe 20-30 seconds on most bosses, so I don’t understand the 1 mesmer + 4 warriors… Mesmer isn’t even needed for CoF if your team isn’t dumb and can easily dodge big rocks. I really like running: Thief,Ele,Engi,Guard,War(only for Banners.) If having a guard isn’t necessary you could bring 2 eles. Or a mesmer for certain things.

My speedrun guild uses Engineers. Engineers are probably the only class that can do everything. Reflects, Stealth, Might, Heals, Vuln, Immob(for Arah boss) Pulls for certain things. I main engineer in a guild that pushes for very fast runs and they never complain when I bring my engineer. Engis are also in top tier as far as DPS goes.

Really good Mesmer.. played with him a couple times and he is very good at what he does.. In my opinion I would say he’s definitely in the top 3 as far as mesmers go.

These guys are pretty good. Any thief would be lucky to be on their team.

My name is Tyler and I am currently looking for some people to play with. I main Engineer and I have been playing it for quite some time. I do know I need to work on my 1v1s so I wouldn’t mind practicing with whoever decides to pick me up. I do get mad at times but have trying to work on that. I want to be very competitive, I have played with some competitive people before and we have wiped out some pretty decent teams. I don’t just want a group that plays together and it’s awkward.. and no1 really knows each other.. I want a group that is serious about PvP and wants to establish a friendship. The last team I was with… we were all friends and we had a good time.. and still did really well. That’s what I am looking for.

Can play anytime after 8pm central(7 days a week)
Have Mic and TS ( will dl any other VOIP if needed)
Have been in top 100 on LDB ( if that means anything)
Currently not there because I kind of play with whoever wants to PvP atm.
Have 1,877 tourney wins for whatever that counts.

I’m just gonna comment on the engi’s in PvE part.. Someone clearly has only seen Flamethrower camping Engis. You do know engi’s are near the top as far as usefulness in Dungeons/Fractals go correct? As far as DPS goes…Engi’s are also near the top. I run Engi for a Speedrun guild so don’t even think they aren’t useful.
1. Perma Vuln(25% more dps to team)
2. Stealth
3. Might
4. Water fields(on top of fire to guarantee might and healing)
Engis are almost more useful than warriors.. If you took Banners away from Warriors they wouldn’t be worth bringing in Speedruns.

Also in WvW.. I’m sure anyone would appreciate Bombs Heal and Water fields in a zerg..Maybe not over a guardian or an Ele.. but Engis offer their own stuff. ALSO in Little Havoc groups.. engis are amazing to have..

Sorry.. I just don’t like people saying a class is useless in PvE.

Yes Elementalists have it easier when it comes to keeping might and fury up.. But it’s not about out-doing another class.. It’s about how your team works. FOR EXAMPLE.. The only reason Warriors are brought in Speedruns anymore is because of their Banners. Without the Banners the warrior would be at the bottom of the tiers.
1. Engis can stack perma vuln = 25% more dps to team.
2. Engis have Blast Finishers = More might for team
3. Engis can provide stealth = Get through stuff
4. Engis can blast water fields( on top of fire field ) so that way you blast might and keep team alive if need be.
5. Engis have Pulls for when pulls are needed (example: AC p2 end Boss pulling into Turret)

You shouldn’t compare Eles and Engis as far as usefulness goes because almost every Speedrun has 1-2 Eles and an Engi. I play Engineer for a Speedrun guild and have been playing engineer for quite some time..

Just because ele offers conjure weapons, etc…That’s great for dps and all… but engi’s offer almost just as much as eles do. It’s all about which playstyle you enjoy. I have mained Engi for almost 2 years and would never look back ( Yes I have hundreds of hours on Ele in PvE as well.) So I’m not being Biased. I hope you find a the right answers to your questions.

I would recommend these guys to anyone. Uni and Blaze are 2 of the best people I have met in PvP. They are calm in heated situations and are always able to think quickly and come up with solutions to problems. I rate them 15/10.

I’ve had some really fun times in PvP and some really bad times. All my memories of
GW2 come from PvP but sadly there is just nothing left in PvP. It was a fun run for those of who played with me. I’m glad I made some people laugh with my gay jokes, etc but sadly I will never join another TS for PvP. I’m not quitting the game, I am just leaving tPvP. Well I don’t use static discharge. I prefer to use speedy kits even if we have perma switftness from Warrior Warhorn or if my team has a Ranger which is usual in our runs. I mean even though I won’t be able to see it.. I thought about the shield.. but all I’m going to use it for is a blast finisher which my teams don’t even need.. we get 25 stacks with minimal effort from me. And also, quip.. Yes I do PvP a ton ( have over 2.8k hours in it) but I still use my Predator alot of PvP.. so quip isn’t really worth it considering I don’t WvW either. So all I’m left with is either waiting and hoping for a new rifle Legendary that was supposed to come out in first 6 months of last year or just get the underwater one lol.. It looks nice I just wish at LEAST the grenade barrage had some effect.

Does anyone know if Frenzy has some sort of Grenade Barrage effect like Predator and Quip do? I made Predator and am thinking of making Frenzy just for fun but still would like some cool effects.

I am semi experienced in dungeons and completely dumb when it comes to fractals.
I have been in PvP since release and it’s about all I have done.
I have 6 lvl 80s but I will ONLY play my Engineer.
I have 3,122 hours over past 738 days. (not new to game)
I want a guild that is VERY EXPERIENCED in Dungeons and Fractals. I’m not looking to run around in a circle and hope for the best.
I want a guild that is ALWAYS ON VOIP when we are doing dungeons/fractals because I feel that is the best way to form a friendship with people. + since I would be doing some newer things (Arah and Fractals) I feel it would make things much easier.
I am 21 years old and don’t want to be around people under 18.
I WILL NOT join a guild that spams for people and requires 100% rep. Since I am in PvP most of the time(until someone asks me to come fractals. etc) I will be repping my PvP Guild.
If the guild WvWs as well I will not join.

Hey guys! I’m here to discuss which would you rather have in a team. I don’t want an answer from someone who only goes by what they are told and have never played either class. I know Engineers are great in PvE but they have their faults just like ranger. I have played since release but I have mainly been in PvP. I may level a ranger( already have 80 tomes.) Based on experience what do you guys think? Should I just continue with Engineer or is a Ranger even worth leveling? I know Engineers have one of the hardest hitting Auto-Attacks if not the hardest( next to Lich Form) but also on top of that they have quite a bit of team support:
*(Stealth,Heals,Up to 24 stacks of might((can’t seem to get 25 yet team wide)),Vuln stack,Wall Of Reflection/Smoke Screen,Pulls for Certain Bosses, Knockbacks for certain Bosses)

Now what exactly do rangers offer besides Spotter and Frost Spirit. I know they have a water field, reflects, some fury and might for team, and quite a bit of dmg but what exactly would experienced dungeon runners rather have.

I agree that because someone is new that they should stay in the appropriate areas. But to be fair, someone with 55%, now 45%, win rating really doesn’t have room to talk to anyone. I do maybe one to two solo q’s a day( rest is team ) and I’m only at 404 on Solo Q leaderboards. You can’t just expect people to know what to do, especially in solo q. I vote there be a tiered system. After you reach a certain amount of tourney wins you can then move on to next tier and so on. I feel that would at least HELP the problem. I agree that people who don’t know what they are doing should stay in hotjoins but the best way to avoid losing a solo q and being paired with bad people is not solo qing like Romek.4201 said.

Beating Marvin and whoever else he was with. Was a GG we got the last 2 beast kills. First time I’ve beaten my old friend. One of the pictures was really close game and the other one we actually won. Also, on the picture we won their 5th didn’t leave until after the match was over.

Hey everyone! I am currently looking for a fractals/dungeons guild. I still need some experience in certain dungeons and ALL fractals, so I would also like the guild to be patient in teaching me these things. I don’t want casual (let’s not stack and just run in a circle and hope we kill it) types of people. As the topic says, I would like to play ele in these dungeons/fractals. I also would like to run S/X so if there are any eles in the guild that is SUPER pro and could teach me exactly what to do that would be great. I have over 2.7k hours played since release.
