Night in Frostgorge.

Great post. I’m not sure how i feel about your "creating a raid-esque environment " suggestion, since it will inevitably bring dramas with it, when ppl fail and wipe and creating large groups of 10-20 ppl will become a chore. One good thing about current world bosses is that those events r spontaneous, event will roll with whoever cared to show up, no drama, no chores. However fights themselves r somewhat lackluster: their mechanics r utterly neglectable (for example, i have yet to see the asura laser firing at Twhateverhisnameis), the damage from bosses scales really badly if there’s any damage at all (think Shatterer), etc. Overall world-boss (dungeons r better in that matter) fights design in GW2 is kinda dull, i don’t think ppl who designed them knew wth they were doing very well (i hope they’ve learnt from it), but it’s another topic, big one.
Back to the topic of end game, for me end game is “stuff to do”. It’s not something specific, like raids. I do a little of everything, if i want and when i want. I need different sets of gear for general PvE and dungeons, because they each require different things from u, and i’ve yet to decide which stats exactly i need for them, there’s a room for experimenting. Then comes 3W, and again whole new approach with it. There r little things in game, like ori ore runs, vanity items, TP and bigger ones like exploration. At last, but not least, there r other toons to develop. I’m GW1 veteran, and one thing i really liked about GW1 is that i could have lots of toons equally, and fully at that, developed, so i could try out different playstyles and all, and btw this was awesome for getting better in PvP. And the best thing about it: i didn’t need to spend half of my life on getting those toons ready to go. I wasn’t chained to one main character, forced to grind all kinds of goods for it. So in my opinion GW2 provides good playground for casual players (casual as in less time spent required, not less challenge or skill), i always have things to do, at my own pace. And last thing: imo, best end game content is new content.
Latest Halloween proved it to me. I’d rather have something new to try every 2 months, than some ONE big kitten raid which i will need to farm for a kittening 6 months in endless gear race. But thats just me.
Agree with Windwalker and i think this may also solve underwater problem.
Stable, glitch-free sound engine. xP I wish they would fix this. GW2 doesn’t have rich, detailed ambient sound in 1st place (frankly speaking, as opposed to game’s visuals, it’s very poor compared to some other titles (just listen to ambient in, say, Stormwind and then compare it to DR, sigh)), hearing it disappear ruins game’s atmosphere completely sometimes.

Say what u want, but fact is, i stopped getting in-game mail from gold sellers for a few weeks now, and i still see bots around every now and then (no more large groups though), but noticeably less than i did few weeks ago. So, there r improvements.

I’ve always considered original GW to have the best seasonal events among MMO’s. But what AN presented during this year’s Halloween is just light years ahead of GW1 and every other MMO i’ve seen so far. So much content for a 2 weeks duration event, some amazing art-work, some spectacular moments (yes, i mean Clock Tower xP). Great job and thank you.
What i didn’t like? Bugs ofc xP. Whole gambling thing with skins in chests was imo a mistake, although i didn’t participate in it. And regarding Clock Tower, i think it was a good suggestion to make players appear as some Halloween characters, like skeletons, mummies, etc. to avoid this Norn/Charr drama, and it would contribute a great deal to event’s atmosphere. Personally i don’t think that making it solo would be good idea, it’s a festival after all and there r plenty of solo puzzles.

Here’s the original topic. Could moderator be so kind and merge them maybe?
Tnx. Btw, don’t feel bad or that bad, armor’s not getting damaged from fall deaths.
Hey Farzo, what’s the name of music track playing in your video?
Whole your post is anthem to u. I and i, and i. Yes, ok. Simple facts are: Norn and Charr take most and lots of space on your screen. End of topic. Thats it. Deal with it.
Getting older in the US I’m constantly amazed by the sense of entitlement we have, and I can’t decide if it’s cultural or mostly an age thing. I suspect age. I ran that stupid tower for hours straight, howled in frustration, nearly punched my computer and almost quit. Never once did I think they should make it easier. It’s a challenge, it’s meant to be hard and you feel accomplished when you finally get it. If they had come back and made it easier before I beat it… I’d feel cheated when I finally got there. Maybe that all went out the window with the arcade games of the 80s and 90s. Those were hard and nobody whined about making them easier, they accepted the challenge for what it was. A challenge.
And for those who say “I paid my $60 and feel cheated by Anet”, “elitist”, blah blah….you paid for the chance to play the game, not win the game.
Exactly, same exact feelings. I would feel cheated as well. This puzzle is not impossible, but it have steep learning curve. It’s not THAT hard once u’ve beaten it. It becomes rather fun.
After you have made it the first time, it’s actually quite hard to stop. You might think that you will NEVER do it again, well, that thought did not last long for me;)
Oh, how true it is! I feel addicted to it now. xD
Norns GTFO! kitten Charrs…
Well… yea, this was fun xD.
+1. Don’t. And i’m not good at jumping puzzles, i’m ok, more or less. But i feel that it should stay, as it is now.
It is hard at first, and fairly challenging afterwards. And it can be very hard, and even impossible, for some people. But overall, it’s a great one. It’s questionable, if it should be that hard in MMO, but no doubt, it’s definitely very fun.
Human – Thief
Human – Ele
Norn – War
No buffs. Took me awhile at first. Was late, i was sleepy and all. But next morning — it was fine. Very well done puzzle.
+1. 2nd Act is amazing.
I don’t know about that. I’m using GF560M with latest driver, i’ve left driver settings untouched. Also, make sure u read the FAQ section of the readme file and upon loading press ScrLck key, by default this key turns on and off the injector (u can assign this to another key by editing injector.ini), and see if u can notice any difference.
Using this for awhile now. The thing i didn’t like about in-game FXAA is that it makes your picture blurry. This injector solved this problem, just make sure u turn FXAA off in game and tweak the ini file to your liking (i use only LUMASHARPEN, SMAA and VIBRANCE). Game looks amazing with this.
I hope this isn’t true. Factions brought some of the best art into GW universe, some of the most memorable locations. I was looking forward to seeing Jade Sea in GW2.
Great post, thank you. And i totally agree, they basically introduced new legendaries and i don’t see a problem here, considering how very well done those skins r. Having long term goal is fine, i think.
I think it was a mistake and hopefully they will learn from it. Good idea, imo, would be to put those skins on sale in gemshop, and put some costumes, hats etc. into chests. Also, i think it would help a lot if they would make keys a bit cheaper. Would be a win-win situation.
Count me in. Costume brawl is a lot of fun, implementation is just brilliant, LA’s like a fun messy warzone. Mad Memories and Haunted Doors r great fun for new toons, and since i love casual exploring it’s a good reason for old ones to visit new and old places. And for later we have some recipies to discover and crafting to do. Looking forward to participate in following acts. Easily the best seasonal event i’ve ever seen i any MMO so far, great job guys.
I c a lot of negativity in this forum due to new skins drop chance from BLC, it’s a bit sad that ppl sometimes forget how to play and have fun and that games r meant for fun, instead at times their grindy mindset can completely overshadow everything else.
I’m happy, so far. Lvl 45 tho, so maybe ppl whine about their end game experience, but for now i have absolutely no idea what’s all this QQing about. I run d/d (20/10/0/0/0) most of the time, sometimes staff (mostly in dungeons), I very rarely die, i can take 3+ mobs easily, damage is just epic. Only thing i can complain about for now is downed state skills. But it’s not a big deal since i have to screw up 1st, before i get downed.
Power, toughness, precision, vitality. You can mix power+precision and power+vitality gear, put +10 toughness runes on each piece. Same goes to jewelry, except runes obviously, and you’re good to go. I’m lvl 40 atm, crafted rare gear, feeling good. Can do w/e i want, don’t rly care how many mobs i agro etc. and i simply destroy mobs in events with AoE.
+1 to that. Also would be rly great to have equipment manager, much like it was in GW1. And builds manager, for different combinations of utility skills and traits.
Been using FGSW in PvE. I was very skeptical about it, but i was wrong. Very strong elite, it just makes my day every time i use it, local Armageddon. Now, with traits u can get 25 charges for this thingy, instead of 15… dreams come true. Elemental is a good elite, however it provides more defensive play-style, it draws some aggro from u, gives u time etc. While FSGW is perfect for leeroy and omfg situations, and great AoE burst booster. I kinda don’t really care how many mobs i’ll agro if i know FGSW is off cd. Tears everything to pieces.

Burning Speed>Ring of Fire>Swap to Earth>Earthquake>Arcane Shield(mainly to prevent interrupts)>Churning Earth.
Good AoE sequence.
The Dungeons are Not Difficult - They are Mechanically Flawed - Here's Why...

OP is right, most dungeons r total and utter fail by design in this game. Less zerg, less one-shots, less particle effect, more visual and acoustic information on abilities boss performing or going to perform, more interesting abilities form mobs, which would encourage tactical approach, better rewards. Repair system needs to be tuned, it should be much cheaper.
