I like the new AC. I think the issue isn’t as big in lower tier. We only have 2 arrow cart defending a tower not up to 12 like on upper server. We will be complaining about Trebuchet and golem mastery very shorthly.
I agree it’s a bit too powerfull but balista, canon and Arrow cart all have mastery. I’m pretty sure we will have the same drama when Ram, Balista, golem and treb mastery goes live. Right now it like comparing apple with orange.
Can you all imagine the whining when catapult will get treb range or when treb will get increase range? Trebbing outter bay or hill walls from a safe place in garrison? Golem will probably get better mobility and stronger defense?
All those siege mastery are gonna change the way we play. I wish there was a defensive siege weapon. I just find the implementation a bit slow, harsh and a bit hard to adjust.
Maybe increasing the damage of AC at the same time that giving the mastery a bit too much. I don’t remember if they increased the canon and balista damage when they implemented the mastery.
I do like the idea of mastery and WvW progression.
It’s about time, ele had an easy life for a while.
The goal is to have good players fight on equal ground between different class and build. They are nerfing a build that is way too powerful for the lvl of skill needed.
I fought again them when they were on the way up and it was the week they spent in tier 6 if I recall correctly. I will admit that they are the best guild I faced. Their synergy is amazing.
Remove 1 condition per burst skill level. A full bar remove 3.
Someone mentionned that the issue with condition warrior is that they lack a bit of diversity. Add a poison on the third auto attack of sword and it would help a lot.

I’m not doing prediction, I’m really bad at it. SF server as it is right now could be a decent tier 5. We were fighting AR and BP for about 2 months and NSP wasn’t necessarily stronger but had lot more WvW pop back then. I would say the core of NSP is better now than it once was but our pop is now lower.
BP really is a strong server. I would class SF a bit lower than BP and maybe a bit stronger or equal to AR. If you look at their current match up I’m pretty sure Emery Bay is giving them some hard time. BP had a really good pop around the clock.
The key VS SF is to at least hold or beat [PvP] with the mix of [Cosa] they usually group with. If you can’t beat or at least hold them they will wreck your borderland and if you can’t hold your BL your as good as dead. I have no idea how HoD dealt with them but NSP really did an amazing job. I think this is what allow NSP to stay afloat in this battle. Then you need more pop to hold EB wich we made a really good job up to this week. We even had all EB upgraded last week and all keep with WP.
DH should give you a decent fight. It’s been a while since I fought them. It was NSP/DH/dragonbrand and we had a decent 1 month match up. Right now I can’t really say anything since I never fought IoJ. We worked hard to keep DB with us. If you look at their really good progression DB had quite a fight with us and DH.
Your server core is super important… look at Kaineng. Their main population wasn’t really into WvW. On the shoulder of [WM] They raised up to tier 2. The server just exploded, everybody is leaving it and now they will fall down. Many server will be waiting for them on the way down.
Sincerely I really wonder what happened to HoD. Before SF rised up to this tier HoD were beating us with the same score that SF did in the weeks prior to this one. I really hope you guys can sort it out.
I really think you guys tried hard to get your keep back yesterday night. I saw orange sword on your spawn point gate and at watergate a few time. Every time you guys pushed there was a lot less of SF on our front.
It’s just hard to rally people and try to push when you get hammered like this. If thing continue like this we might have another week together. The fight in the tier over us just got ticker and tier 8 servers are not giving an easy life to GoM. I might be wrong also

HoD all the night I was watching the map hoping you guys would have been able to take your keep back.

I agree with all of that, that wasn’t the point. Point is, keep your egos to yourself. Go up to Tier 1 or 2 and put any of our guys in this tier against a guild full of Russians who play WvW like its a job and I just about guarantee you they will make any of our guilds look like a bunch of kids licking windows.
Perspective. You’re not as great as you think you are. Get rid of the egos.
I think we had a misunderstanding or you thought I was someone else. It might be on my side since english is not my main language.
I have no idea how good are the Russians but a lot of players here fought [WM] and had a good taste of how highly dedicated guilds play. I highly doubt that any guilds that faced them see themselves as the best guild. I admire their discipline and the same could be said of [PvP].
Win, lose, tier2, tier 8 I don’t really care. All I really want is to enjoy the game with friends/community I like. This match-up as been a lot of fun so far for me.
We’ve got guilds and commanders in here talking mad crap to each other, when at the end of the day this is Tier 7. The next to last tier. Being the “best” Commander or PvP’ers in this Tier, is like being the smartest kid on the short bus. Get rid of your egos.
And whats up with this random Jade Quarry coming in here? Fondling himself over his Tier 1 tips and advice. Blow it out your kitten. If we wanted to hear anything a different server had to say, we’d ask or transfer.
Also, for my fellow HoD players, don’t get all hissy because we cant take and hold objectives. That goes along with having a low population in WvW. That’s the nature of the beast. Instead use this time to refine your PvP abilities.
Being outnumbered forces you to become better. Start roaming, even if you get wiped by a massive SF zerg regularly, learn from it. Learn what your profession can and cannot do, and when we finally do get the people to make a difference in WvW, well have some great PvP’ers ready to roll.

I was wondering about the multiple [king] guilds. Yesterday night I ran into a small group(3-4) of people from a [king] guild and they were really playing well together. They had that kind of synergy you really see in small group playing a lot together.
I wondered if it was a bunch of people from a big guild who team PvP together.
I’m really bad with names. I usually run with guildies and we spend most of our time in the 3 borderlanda. I might also not know the all commanders who play on different time zone. I will probably forget a lot… There is no order.
-Tiberius Maximus [Os]. My guild’s field commander.
-Bird Song [Os]. That guy trained lots of people on NSP and do miracle with very little.
-Smitry [ZoS]. He is awesome!
-Pointe [ZoS]. Don’t know him personally but everytime he is on a map we are doing great.
-Moontrance [TGF]. He as been doing it for quite a while. He is one of the first commander I remember following.
-X braveheart [MoB]. It’s always fun to run with him.
I will add Dangdude since I like him a lot and I am harmless because she is doing a great job when there is no commander online. (She is almost rank 55 in wvw… She is always online. =p. )

ahh i think you missed the subtle inference there that the tower was held on purpose, and the keep was ignored on purpose.
every port was used to destroy your siege, not to flank you. i’m pretty sure just about every one was successful.
We were using sieges as bait at first since we noticed that you guys were using portal bomb to destroy them. They ended up getting built so why not use them… We really tried to get in that tower but it was pretty much impossible. We used sieges, portal bombs, diversion and we even got into your BL to get some towers, until some SF showed in our BL. It pretty much all failed. You had had a least 2 time our numbers and also you had high ground in that tower. We went back to hills and did the same thing you guys were doing to us so we could buy us some time, get our camp back and fortifying our other keeps. With a zerg that big you could have done us a lot more damage than you did and we were getting ready for the worst.
At the beginning of the hill/lake tower fight you guys had me scared a lot. I was on hill south stair and I saw you all passed me and go north. Then I noticed the 40+ of you standing on the edge near the hill treb spot right above my head. I used the arrow cart as a desperation move on that ledge and I will admit that I rarely have seen that much DPS and quite a good amount of bags, these bags didn’t came from the AC damage they all came from peoples falling to their death for no reason at all… If you guys had jumped a few seconds before we would probably have lost all our defense at south hill.

Out of curiosity, what do rangers have on ballista? Moment of Clarity?
From what I can tell, only our spirits. Oh wow, 10% bonus damage with a 35% shot of that…which rarely comes into effect. Arrow carted numerous players with my spirit out just to see if it works. Out of the volley that occurred from shooting it 30 times into a pile of 20 players, it kicked in only once. It’s not worth it IMO.
DONT nerf this… Its one of the few ways in the game that a much smaller force can take out a larger one.
This game already favors zerging far too much.
Oh they’ll nerf it…and then give us an Arrow Cart Mastery ability line that will give us the ability to immobilize with arrows as the first ability.
the spirit has an internal cd of 10 seconds(that’s why it sucks to begin with) but with long recharge attacks like the ones from trebs and ballistae, it can be devastating.
You may laugh, but ~5% more damage against a wall means ~5% more repair costs and that the wall will be down 5% faster.
Of course, on arrow carts, it does nothing remarkable, but trebs really love this stuff.
Didn’t knew that. In WvW 5% is a lot. It’s might be the difference between facing no one while taking a tower or having to face a whole zerg.
I do like the idea of some class better on some siege. It add a whole new layer of strategy and also I think I experimented a bit of the condi necro / tainted cow yesterday and it really hurted a lot.
Well this is not too normal. EB split nearly perfectly in two with each server at different doors same time.

Just WOW amazing fights tonight… 3 way at SM NSP in one corner HoD in another and SF holding it down… pics will explain. Some how we managed to fight em off pretty long battle but EPIC.
Yeah those NSP small roaming groups are hard to spot
sidenote: I am ready to embrace smaller groups…the NSP zerg is spottable by the skill lag I am getting half across teh map lol…thats a huge group
The same could be said of all server. I was wondering how you guys play or see anything on the north bay fight, it was almost unplayable for me and some of my teammate .
I find it hilarious that everyone is complaining about SF zerging, this came as quite the shock when these kind people came from behind me. I was so shocked that I didn’t know how to react! According to the forums no one else zergs aside from us, so you’ll of course see my utter shock!

It’s fine. Thieves can spam AoE weakness with treb, Rangers can give all siege bonus damage(spirit of frost), Engineers can have their turrets out while operating, Eles and guardians can swap out and drop some anti projectile fields… Every class got something to offer on siege…
Great post and also as someone pointed earlier very few warrior invest in tactic. I do agree that having 4-5 warriors doing it is a lot but also using 5 of pretty much everything can become OP.
To those from SF who tried to take NSP garr at 11h pm east. You really had us scared when I saw 2 omegas and a few alpha . I still don’t know how we survived that.
