Also My personal issue with the naming which implies Brute Force but burning plays a big role here.

other from the that then Berserk looks nice.

The issue is you have to pick Discipline line with Berserk. <- solve this and Berserk is fixed.

You will still miss warrior sprint/brawler recovery/destruction of the empowerment/burst mastery/heightened focus. That whole trait line is way too good and I personally think that warrior sprint is the strongest trait in that whole branch. Just think how many time it saved you.

Your right fast hand baseline is not enough. I stand by what I think. To fix the warrior they need to buff the non traited warrior with those must have traits. Then reduce the gain of traits so we are equal to what we are currently on our current best builds.

The whole condi/melee hybrid they want to make with the zerker will never work cause warrior have no sustain without our vanilla traits and we either need our defense line and our mobility to stay alive.

1 trait branch is fast hand and warrior sprint, defense is self explanatory and a big chunk of our survivability and strength/arm boost our mobility via reduced cooldown and our DPS. Remove any of those 3 and you nerf yourself pretty hard. I don’t think berserker form is stronger than a vanilla warrior and even if it did you spend at best 50% of the fight in that form while you spend the other half as weakling.

While I kinda regret getting the expansion a bit I don’t think they want us to suck it. I really think they are clueless and have no idea what to do with berserker.

They probably had a data freeze after BW3 and after that only minor data change could be allowed. At some point they had to freeze stuff if they wanted to ship this even if they had a day one patch. I guess that they can fix it now.

I remember the POI when he announced he was just done with the warr elite spec. It looked in is face that it was a big pain for him.

I think they wanted to make a pure DPS condi/melee class but failed. Look at the runes of the berserker with +5% dps/condi dam. Right now they are either clueless on what to do and they are hoping the new stat combo might fix this.

The warrior class don’t have enough sustain to allow a physical/ condi hybrid. We need the 3 traits lines to stand a chance and missing any of the 3 is a huge Nerf.

I have been playing on a med tier server and got 135 K to 140 K kills on my warrior and I should be among the top of my server. This was one of my goal to get the Ultimate dominator since that title meant something but now with that post it lost most of it’s meaning. They should just nerfed it now to 10k kills.

It make sense money wise. According to survey the 2 class the people are least interested are Zerker and Tempest. It also happen that Warr and Ele were the most played on one of the last survey.

Everybody as a warrior/ele geared up with all their bag slot etc… What they really wants is us to roll other class, buy character/bag slot and gear thems. No one is gonna spend crazy money on legendary torch or horn. By giving us a pseudo condi spec they also might wants the hardcore warr population to get condition gear.

Or…

They just didn’t had time left to rework our class. I wish someone could come and post info of what is comming.

I’ll be sticking to my Vanilla warrior, Berserker does not interest me even in the slightest…flashy skills, but ultimately a kitten in terms of usefulness and utility (unless you love condi war)

I’m with you. Zerker is prolly among the worst elite spec. While other class get spec that work on many builds we get a condi spec that can’t even compete with the other non elite condi builds. The issue is not about the elite spec it’s how the whole class need those 3 trait line to be barely effective.

They should have build the zerker around bleed instead fire if they wanted to base us around a condition. Bleed is already a part of the warrior class or wasn’t warrior good with deep wound condi in GW1?

They should have added skills like you heal more if you hit target is bleeding since you bath in their blood and something that allow you to reveal an invi target if they are bleeding (you smell the blood or a cool Predator reference could be used :p) There are so many primal themes they could have explored here.

My guess is that the designer ran out of idea after necro and mesmer. Bleed would make more sense with the berserker theme than fire.

I was about to buy the gems for Season 2 (For the hero points) and realised that I don’t really need it right away since I don’t plan rushing to get the zerker spec. :P

When i pre-purchased HoT i was excited because i didnt know what we would get, now that i know i regret my decision completely. First time i have ever gotten more disappointed with the more they showed us.

I kinda regret buying it TBH. I don’t PvE, only WvW, don’t do fractals, I only play 1 class(I usually quit a game when I make alts).

I was a raider in EQ and WoW and TBH if I wanted to raid I would not do it in GW2.

My guess is that they have most online is friday/saturday and the hardcore guilds are all busy in WvW. I think that they hope by making friday night irrelevant WvW wise and people will move to raid and PvE stuff.

This is my guess… Personally I do like to try the change and see how it impact stuff. I would like to see how much it change the ocx/asia impact on the end week results. I’m kinda tired that a relatively small part of a server pop affect the week outcome by so much.

They should add a reveal on traps activation or traps circle on the ground like pistol field. I’m fine with any or both. I have no issue with pistol field since I can see it and I can somewhat counterplay and manage my risk/reward.

They don’t want us to go through new content super fast. Many peoples have 10K and probably have up to 100K badges and adding a new currency is just another way to time gate us.

I’m not again it TBH. I would personally love that they would add something to convert WvW rank to something else.

in the last days more trapper thieves r being played so ppl start QQn everywhere about this ‘OP’ build while its mostly a l2p….

Please explain me the counter play? Guy is perma invi and traps leave no mark on the ground and they are also unblockable.

If I could see them you could argue that its my fault cause I’m walking in it. But as much as I’m looking at it with the classesI play I see no counter play.

A)You either make the berserker line super strong but it won`t fix the issue for future elite spec or (B) rework the base class and make it less dependable on traits.

Option A is easier right now but i doubt it will happen. Berserker line/transformation is too weak compare to what we lose.(Also look bad compared to reaper as an exemple.) While a condi build is fun to have it’s kinda sad that our elite spec is a average condi build. They should rename it sinister or carrioner. Also why we would only get a condi spec when other subclass have many options?

Option B is better on the long run but would take a lot of work and balancing and the timer is getting short.

ppk would definitely favor the server with the larger population. if all your fights have have more ppl you are more likely to win. Im not against it because it would put more emphasis on being good and give a legit reason for calling out baddies.

if anet rly wanted to change fight dynamics, they would decrease wxp for tower caps and increase wxp for player kills by like 1,000 but divide the reward by everyone who hit the target

About a month ago I faced a guy running this in WvW(Something close to this at least). It`s ridiculous and very OP. There are no counter to that. I just avoided him after. I think everyone on my server passed the word to simply avoid him. I had a chat with him and he told me it was getting boring.

This has to be nerfed or changed TBH.

Hide behind the iron thing. Pop berserker stance(Immune to poison and blind) and stability(Stuns from guard and camp leader). 100 blades, whirlwind and arcing slice(Shield block, axe auto or final thrust could also be nice now). At this point the scout that blind you should be dead. Use the Iron thing to cut LOS from the frog while you kill the rest. The terrain is pretty funky around that and make sure you learn how to navigate around it.. The poison from the frogs and the blinds from the scout are the worst thing to deal with.

As long as you can kill the scouts you can move in and out of camp if needed to reset. You can also pull few guard if your careful.

I agree a fully upgraded danelon with frog is pretty hard to cap. You can also go in Hyleck and destroy their morals.

I think this is a pretty interesting idea. You often hear people talking about how Warrior NEEDS Strength in order to dps, or NEEDS Defense in order to stay alive. A big reason this thread exists is because of trait shoehorning.

So, is too much of our power found in our traits? Should some of that power perhaps move to our utility abilities instead? Should traits define how you play the game, rather than just enabling you to play it?

It’s a pretty tough balancing act and I don’t expect anything like that to happen. Still interesting though.

I do think the berserker issue will happen on the next elite spec. Originally adrenaline was our core mechanic but as the game progressed over the last 3 years the warrior profession changed and they didn’t adjusted. I do think that it would not be as crazy complicated as it might sound.

Warrior needs fast hand? Give warrior 7 sec base weapon switching to get 5 sec you either get the minor fast hand or use runes of the warrior. It’s just an example. Take a bit from the essential trait(weapon specialisation traits are other exemple) give it to the weapons/skills and just make as if you spec in that tree you get the same as the old. The good build are used an benchmark and stay the same in the end and the not used one get a buff.

Anet as the data, they know what are those meta traits. Give it to us so that the basic warr is stronger and make us less dependable on those traits.

They need to look at all those core warrior traits that we really need to be competitive and incorporate it in the basic warrior. Baseline fast hand, reduce all the core weapons cooldown etc and then they need to reduce the gain from traits. If the base warrior was stronger and less dependent from what he gain from traits maybe the current berserker trait line would be balanced.

You forgot that the icon look cool. I agree with ya they failed on that class if you compare it to the other one. I wonder how complicated it would have been to make an elite spec for warrior it’s the most basic of class. I guess he might have ran out of idea after the reaper and the chronomancer. Also sad since isn’t warrior one of the most played class in the game? Maybe was it the goal to make people change class?

Minus the broken gun flame, decent decapitate, barely viable arcing shear and condition builds the whole rest is a big fail. The animation and effect look bad, we lose too much to gain access to that spec and it’s not viable at all.

Use all the base burst remove a tiny bit of something and add some more flavor. Like eviserate or gun flame.(not bugged)

Arcing shear should add a bit of fury back and sword should be able to immobilize. I liked more the old Rupturing Smash. Someone had a good idea in another thread for hammer. A circle with pulsing stun like if the ground had a small earthquake.

Some burst are better but I do think the original burst are mostly better.

Arcing shear is nice but the lack of fury make it a tiny bit worst I think.
Decapitate is decent. This is a fair trade from the normal one.
Rupturing Smash is a big meh.
Gun flame is hard to analyse since it’s bugged.
Scorched earth is worst than it normal counterpart.
Skull grinder as nice synergy.
Not played enough with sword.

15 sec ICD on berserker form is way to long. While you are waiting for it you can’t really use your warrior mechanic and by taking head butt for on call for berserker form you lose a lot.(Signet/Banner and rampage)

It partially improve on our mechanic while in zerker form but the normal form is so weak and play in a very un-warrior way because it does not allow us to spend adrenaline. They once stated that when they changed berserker power cause they didn’t liked the idea on warrior saving their adrenaline.

The trait line that we have to trade to get berserker really hurt us and it don’t expand on the class mechanic.(Like reaper) The new stuff they gave us does not give us any new class mechanic or they don’t fit well with our class.(Like mesmer well)

You are too weak in non-berserker form and berserker is barely stronger than the base warrior. It way too gimmicky. I was fighting a guildmate chronomancer yesterday with my zerker in pvp and I could not believe how great it expand on the mesmer class.

Berserker does not bring anything new over the normal warriors builds. Maybe condition but it’s not that the berserker is strong condition wise. It’s the basic condi warr that is very weak.

It’s a big meh so far and the warrior’s issue is that we are so much locked on those 3 trait line to be viable.(not even OP)

Why would you spec hammer for immob make no sense to me. The feeling of the class mechanic is better but the skills are weak, unimaginative and a mess.

If they wanted to make hammer fresh maybe add an taunt to the hammer burst.

Among the reaper, chrono and berserker. The berserker feels the weakest and the more gimmicky of the 3. I tried it and the normal warrior is a lot stronger than any non condi zerker. I deeply hate the animations of the new primal burst and the berserker form does not look great.

I agree with head butt/outrage and rousing resilience. This is great.

I’m sad that both reaper and chrono expand on their class and seems to feel equal or more powerful in many gear set when berserker is a condition build. (while using as the full offensive stats name)

Food and consumable is a huge buff to warriors. Also in spvp your job is to defend a spot while in WvW you can use your mobility at it full extend.

Some could claim guard stacks but to me this is more a buff to other class. 2.5k HP on a warrior isn’t worth the same on a guard/thief/mesmer.

If you spec for both sword and GS I do think it might be close in the end.

GS vs Sword with trait. I might have done some error.

On a 30 sec timer GS skills will cover around 3900 and sword will do around 3000. Sword is 600 range BUT the wiki say it offend go to 900 (max 4500 over 30 sec) and also the sword is a leap and reach spot where the GS can’t.

I think it’s Axe Shield /GS was over shadowed by hammer/GS of late. People forgot about it and now it seems that the shield buff pushed it back into the spot light. The truth is that this build wasn’t very far behind.

To me the riffle buff is much bigger but it’s our single target range DPS weapon and it’s extremely telegraphed.
