Do what Rampage said
I was wondering what could cause this crash. I have been playing the game for a while but now the game is crashing when i try to log in the game. It will go past the password up to welcome screen but will crash before loading the characters. I tried to repair few times but to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

Bad memory, not enough memory, background programs running, delete and reinstall the game.
Thanks guys, forgot to add the psu, doh..it’s running on 700 watt, so powerful enough for most things I would think.
Volmak, I disagree, the card was excellent and quiet, had no issues with it until now and it’s a few years old
Zerk, thanks for the link, I’ll take a look – at the overlocking also, have water cooling so I guess I should have done this a while back
I think I prefer Nvidia – had a Radeon before this card and really didn’t like it…I know things change a lot in a few years.
What do you guys think of GTX 650 Ti Boost? It has recently ben released and is a resonable price. Seems to be looking ok:
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac/GeForce_GTX_650_Ti_Boost/
Before you buy anything I would overclock the processor and video card, make sure to cut shadows, supper sampling, and reflections down and play the game. The 650ti boost will not be a upgrade if you overclock the video card you have. A 2GB video card if you are using a single 1080p monitor will help none. Before I bought it I would just buy a 650ti and overclock it but again not much of a gain. Pay no notice to the AMD video card haters people are having problems with both brands.
If your video card is really about gone I would get the GTX 660 or AMD 7850/7870 and never look back.
For overclocking the video card download MSI afterburner go for a 10% to 15% overclock and set a custome fan profile 40C=40% fan speed, 80C=100% fan speed, their a box you need to check to make the fan profile active when you boot the PC.
EDIT Also sometimes it helps to reformat the HDD with a fresh install of windows if you have not done this in a few years.
(edited by zerk.9701)
More time would of showed you only about 10% performance differance in the 680 and 670 with a price differance of $100 and a 7870xt is the best bang for the buck ATM.
(edited by zerk.9701)
This would help with the noise if it will fit in the case and allow for a mild overclock, those chips will run @ 3.8GHz with just a multiplier change no extra voltage needed.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103064
Glad you are happy with the upgrade alot of people on these fourms think that chip will not play the game but their wrong. A customer of mine is running the game just fine on that I OC it to 3.8 for him and paired it with a 560ti video card and gets 20 to 25 FPS in big zergs. This game is not worth sinking $800+ in upgrades for a extra 5 FPS.
That’s a cool story bro to bad their no such card as a GTX 460ti
Very bad video card for gaming, something like a 7750 would a a huge improvement needs just 24 more watts of power..

http://www.hwcompare.com/11737/radeon-hd-6450-oem-1gb-vs-radeon-hd-7750/
It’s really up to you how much to spend, not knowing what power supply you have I’ll keep it in the same watt range or lower.
First to compair your card to the bottom on the list. This is not exact but will give you a idea.
http://www.hwcompare.com/12059/geforce-gtx-460-1gb-vs-radeon-hd-7850/
AMD 7850, GTX 660/AMD7870, AMD 7870xt
Overclocking the i7 950 would also help with a decent cooler for it (not the stock one) they can get to 4 GHz so 3.6 or so should be fairly easy.

Can someone paste a game pc build in this topic.
I want one with at least 80fps in Gw2 and in other games about 60fpsHope you can help me.
This will run the game as good as it will play.

Getting an AMD FX-8350 CPU would be your best bet; if you get an Intel processor, you’ll need a new motherboard. So again, if you’re on any type of budget, just get an FX-8350.
Your GPU is fine, I use the same one; FPS drops are a common issue no matter your specs, but upgrading your processor should definitely help.
Thats really bad advise his MB will not support that chip.
http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/GA-78LMT-S2(rev._1.0).html
Now for the good stuff update your BIOS and get the 6300 get a decent aftermarket cooler and overkitten to about 4.0 or higher if that cheap mother board will let you, ultra is out of the question. cut the shadows and reflections to off/low and play the game.
The 7770 video card is pretty much a entry level video card for gaming.

Hi so i recently got a new computer because my old one crashed because of Guild Wars 2.
But here I am with:
i5
6 Go ram DDR3
Video card: Nvidia GT 620I already followed the instructions in the FPS and Performance based issues
And if i try running the game full performance ( removing shadder and stuff like that ), I get an FPS of 15 or even below.
And while running it as the recommended with everything low and like animation on medium I only have between 25 and 40 FPS.
I mean come on the computer is pretty good, and it’s running that bad? there got to be a problem because a friend why a worse computer than that i3 gt 320 runs it better.
So here is my questions , is there compatibility problems between Windows 8 or is there anything more i can do to make the game run more smoothly.
Well no your computer is not pretty good. A i5 pretty much says nothing for instance a i5 2400S is 2.5 GHz I would take a i3 3220 over that for gaming. The GT 620 is nothing near a gaming video card it’s made for watching movies. So yes I think your FPS are about right.

Turn shadows and reflections off. If you have a decent cooler that processor will overclock to 3.8 really easy.
Check the BIOS version on the mother board It will support this and would be a big improvement. (might need to flash the BIOS) Overclocks really easy.

Sounds about right If you can overclock the cpu that would help some.
Cut down reflections, shadows and SS if you have a single 1080p monitor you will see no gains adding anouther card.
Switching from 110 to 220 will not burn up your PC. (if you have 220 from the wall and switch the power supply to 110 then you fry stuff) The power supply switches the AC power to DC power. With selecting 220 when you have only 110 comming in it will not deliver the required DC volts to run the PC. With that said if the power supply went bad and burnt other things out is anouther question.
Never listen to Best dumass Buy!
Best thing to do is remove the video card, memory, and mother board look at the mother board on both sides for a burnt looking spot somewhere or a blown cap. If you find nothing discolored or busted get a new power supply or try a friends.
EDIT 3 screws is OK not what it calls for but nothing wrong with that but board stability.
(edited by zerk.9701)
7870XL is alot cheaper about the same performance as the 7950. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202024&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID
SLI not supported buy GW2 and a really bad idea because of the problems. (also the savings on a mother board without the SLI)
670 is alot cheaper than the 680 and very close to the same performance.
If you use a single 1080p monitor the 660ti will max everything out although the 670 would help some on future proofing if they are such a thing.
GW2 is very CPU dependent I would worrie about that most.
(edited by zerk.9701)
List the exact mother board you have but this sounds more like a heat issue.
Download Real Temp GT 3.70 and run the game and see what it says.
Yes it has to finish.
Buying a AMD processor is perrty kitten when Intel is clearly better.
32GB of ram is way over his head if he has to ask what to buy.
But no biggie I could care less what he buys.
AMD is one step below anyway you look at it but fan boys will never listen.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-kittenml
Here are the 2 since this is for gaming just look at the game performance Intel beats it every time.

I think you went way over his budget and did not include the operating system or even the CD/DVD drive and that case with one fan whats up with that.
Start in safe mode, uninstall video driver, reinstall video driver from disc then update it.
If the error code looks like this.
STOP – 0×00000116
(0×86739008, 0×8d0d2a80, 0×00000000, 0×00000002)
NV1DDMKM.SYS
If not post the rest of the error code.Uninstalled the graphic driver in safe mode and reinstalled it from the disc. The error code on the BSOD is the same as the one you posted, except for the memory addresses.
Post the complet error code.
The dell model # would help to see if anything can be reused.
A good build if you are not going to overclock the processor.

Not knowing how much you are going to spend this is a really nice setup. All quality parts and would put the i5 3570 over the AMD 4300
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FKRm
@zerk, How can I tell if the hard drive is refurbished?
@zerk, so you suggest I change my PSU and hard drive? Well, I can see it with the PSU, but why the hard drive? Looks pretty good. An no, I’m not the person on that forums.
The PSU is very low quality the hard drive is slow if it’s not the refurbished one you are ok.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027 Better power supply.
Just had a quick google at your chip choice – reviews weren’t too favourable:
http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/pc-components/processors/amd-fx-4300-1117775/review
Unless AMD do something really radical, I’ll be sticking with Intel.
One other thing, I would probably get a more powerful PSU if you can shell out the moolah.
Your choice of GPU seems a good one – Bit-tech likes it:
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2012/09/13/nvidia-geforce-gtx-660-2gb-review/11
Lastly, rather than just one HDD, you could consider an SSD – game and zone load times would be quite reduced.
Overall, and this is just my opinion – others more tech-savvy may disagree – I think your proposed rig will work but you may find yourself ramping down the settings; most MMO’s are CPU bound so the more GHz you can get out of ’em, the better.
Hope that helped
Okay, thanks for the help. If anyone have any other suggestions, please don’t hesitate to give advice.
The motherboard will probably need a BIOS flash to the latest P1.30
http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/880GM-LE%20FX/?cat=CPU
That is a very low quality power supply. 2X12V rails with 18 amps and only one 6 pin connector not even 80+ cert.
I hope this is not you and you are still going to buy a refurbished hard drive.

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/cpu/#k=6&sort=d1
but stick to 95watt.
so that leaves this as your only viable option for gw2
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-adx460wfgmbox
and even it will not work well if you want to do dynamic events/dragon events(anything with lots of players on screen)honestly with that board, your not gonna get decent perf out of gw2…im sorry to say that but its true…..your best bet would be to upgrade the board/cpu/ram
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jZkK
lowest upgrade I would do, the onboard video would be better then the videocard you linked, this should be a drop in upgrade (no new case or psu needed)the M@N68-LA is honestly a piece of kitten poo……..I have replaced many for people for just that reason….
the partpicker link above would give you the ability to oc the apu to 4.4or so ghz as well as overclock the built in gpu(part of the APU package) (apu is a cpu with gpu built into the same socket)
later you could add a 7750 for a cheap (but major) perf boost.
I went with 2133 ram because, the video chip built into these APU’s REALLY REALLY beenfits from faster ram.
i know its not as cheap as you hoped but, nothing you do cheaper then this, will give you the same performance as this upgrade.
I do mean nothing, the 3 core cpu and a new videocard woudnt make your current build even close to as fast as this upgrade…..and no an 8400 is not a card worth buying…..
The fastest memory the A10 supports is 1866!
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-A10-Series%20A10-5800K.html
only about 3% of the people who play the game can get more then a slide show in WvWvW
LOL where did this % come from.
Hi there,
Since I am quite sick of getting 10~15fps in WvW and about 30fps in PVE, I am willing to change my current PC to Intel.
Let me start of on what I am looking to buy:
MB: ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3770K
Ram: Corsair 16 GB DDR3-1600 Quad-Kit, Vengeance LP, XMPAnd maybe: XFX HD7970 Double Dissipation GHz Ed. (FX-797G-TDFC)
And this is my current system:
MB: MSI 890FXA-GD65 890FX
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3300 AM3
GPU: XFX 2GB D5 X HD6950
Ram: Corsair D3 8GB 1333-999 XMSWin7
PSU: XFX PRO650W Core Edition
Boot disk: Corsair SSD 64GB 130/215 Nova
Storage: Western Digital 1TB WD1002FAEX Black
Gaming: Corsair SSD 180GB 515/550 Force3 25nm SA3Il be using the current psu and ssd/hdd’s in the new system.
The moral problem I am having is that my current system is only 1,5years old. And I want to make sure that my new setup will give me a decent performance boost in WvW to justify its cost.
I am pretty sure that changing cpu/mb will do just that, if I am wrong, please do tell me before i buy. :P
What i am having doubts about tho is the GPU. Currently it really doesn’t matter if i run with high or low gw2 settings, the fps is the same (bf3 runs good on max settings in current pc)
So my question is: Would my current GPU be powerful enough in the new pc to run gw2 max settings? Also, if you see anything wrong, have tips on better parts in the same price range, please do tell.
I am asking this here since I am not really uptodate about the latest and greatest, and what works best for gw2, I think some/allot of you are, or at least more informed then me.
Never hurts to ask right? :-)
This is all you need to spend. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ECrV
Here ya go just press add to cart and pay for it.
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1EW906
Buy the way i charge by the hour I think this was in a 9 hour span so you O me $1800
Just joking have fun and glad to help with the issue.
Does that mean its a fault on there hardware and they are false statements or my issue baring in mind ive done nothing to the pc since i baught it
All their fault. If they try to say different give a link to this and they will see the only things that were done was basic trouble shooting.
(edited by zerk.9701)
I found this on their website looks like they dident test this one.
An eye for quality
All the components we offer have been tested for performance and stability, and are designed to work effectively with each other. Our technicians build every system to the highest standard, and arrange the cables neatly inside the case to improve ventilation. Gaming systems are rigorously tested with the latest 3DMark benchmarking software and games to make sure they are running at full performance.
Okay ill contact Dinopc tomorrow as i already rang them previously and since i dont lag on lol as much they said it was software but THANKS for the help least i know the issue !
Now you can go off on them be sure to tell them the temps of the processor or send them the pic and tell them that a guy you never met took the time to find the problem on a website fourms lol.
EDIT I hate people that build a PC and do not do a burn test.
(edited by zerk.9701)
Send them this Pic that is the whole problem. http://s1160.beta.photobucket.com/user/jordandocherty/media/Untitled-2.png.html#/user/jordandocherty/media/Untitled-2.png.html?&_suid=136114065100509684442740826609
If the fan is running the only one we care about is the big one on the processor cooler.
Thats bad nothing I can do to fix this over the net
Probable cause no thermal paste was used when the PC was built.
Just a few options return it for repairs or take it to a PC shop, get a PC savey friend to fix it. The fan would seem week compaired to the rest because it only has a 800 to 1200 RPM range. I found the problem sorry nothing I can do over the net to help.
I would advise not to use the PC till it’s repaired.
Be sure to tell them that the Processor is overheating and tell them what the temerature was.
(edited by zerk.9701)
You are sure that the fan was working and it was on the thing that looked like this?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233089
yes it is running , you know any idea how to turn that fan up as when i turn fan settings up on amd CCC its only the graphics card fan
Give me a sec to check on something.
should i take a picture of the inside of pc as im completely clueless at hardware related stuff
Turn the PC off and take the side panel off then turn the pc back on and make sure this fan is running but do not touch anything inside the case it will be the big thing in the center of the case looks like this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233089
Open the side of the PC I bet the fan is not running on the processor cooler
The temps are way to high throttling the speed to keep from killing the processor
Were getting to the fix check the temps with the game running.
Check the temp of the processor with the game running their alot of programs I use
Real Temp GT 3.70
That’s the problem it should go up to 3.4 when the game is running.
yeah depending on whats happening in combat it rises to 1100 ish
Post a pick of that with the game running.
Okay. core speed is between 802-1100 MHz
Is that with the game running?
oh sorry! gimme a min
Let the game run about 5 mins and make sure it does not drop back down on the clock speed.
CPU-Z is for the processor not the video card it should do the same thing go up to normal speed when the game is running.
