BG is coming in ‘true’ second place in t1 this week, in terms of wvw coverage and skill, so I’d hold onto your hats. Expect to be smacked around.

It’s kind of funny seeing JQ tell BG for weeks that if they only would attack #1 (SoS) they would get more points. Now that JQ is #1 what do they say? Attack #2 (SoS) cause it’ll get you the most points.

The next few weeks are gonna be fun. We at SoS have been running on 100% for so long, we need a break. Some time in a different tier will be refreshing, and allow us more time for other things besides 24/7 wvw. Though I do want to fight SoR. I came to SoS at the very end of their last fight with SoR, and I hear nothing but great things about them.

It’s not really as simple as that, it’s not always ‘attack SoS’ as you attack #1, no matter which server is in that position. If JQ is #1, if SoS is #1, if SoR is #1, you just slot in the server name and attack. That’s the way glicko works… or worked, as it were.

Friday’s reset will be as millenium shows it, give or take. We can’t yet predict the matchups for the reset on Feb 8, so it’s sort of pointless at this point.

Definitely not booing. We needed a reset. I don’t see the ratings changing much in the top 3-4 tiers, but the matches for those folks in the lower tiers will be MUCH more pleasant, which is what it should be. Besides, it’ll fix my twitching over the lopsided numbers >_>

Shouldn’t change too much at the top, it’ll just shuffle everyone down on a more gentle slope, and (hopefully) prevent situations like current t2 and t4.

There’s 40 people in my guild, so we’re small by a lot of standards. When we have at least 5 in WvW, we will go around and capture camps, try to ninja towers, etc. We oftentimes die hilariously, but we figure that if a zerg is on our little 5 man, they aren’t anywhere else, bothering the main zerg. Small group play is possible in every server imo, and actually plays a large part in its success.

Kagetsu — A LOT of the guilds on JQ are recruiting. You won’t have a problem finding a fit for you and your friends.

Only a WvW player presses M in LA and can’t understand why it’s not the BL map.
Only a WvW player knows why people spam random numbers in /team
Only a WvW player yells at people to only take supply from a camp, then yells at them to not take supply from the camp.

Probably a combination of factors that will make the higher tiers difficult. Getting people trained is one, but having closer to 24h coverage vs servers who are populated more by active WvW populations is likely the bigger one. Seeing as how that’s not going to be an easy problem to fix anymore after tomorrow, it could get interesting.

actually current stats show bg going down to T2 by 2 points.

kitten if only FA had replaced SBI in T2 last reset. SOR currently will be going up by 73.3 rating and that gap is only likely to get higher.

Depending on how badly SOR wins this week they could even be within a few points of 1st place, or even rank number 1 in NA without ever having to step into T1.

This is early in the week, but the trend for current T2 servers is clear.

The rating needs a serious overhaul, or an artificial bump to move dead servers down the tiers faster, and inflated servers up the tiers faster.

For absolutely no reason should a server be able to take first place, or come close in total rating without ever having been in T1.

Yeah… not gonna happen. Not that I doubt SoR’s ability to crush their tier, with their 600+ppts, but you’re forgetting one big important factor: SoS They’re not just gonna be dead all week; they’ll be back out there soon, and in ‘normal’ numbers. Likely by tomorrow, is my guess.

At least the ‘my flame ram is bigger than yours’ contest will be over on Monday. I can’t take much more of the constant carrying on about which server has more numbers.

I’m not being overconfident; nobody I’ve talked to on JQ is. I know a match can change in hours. It’s barely the 2nd day. Let’s not get crazy. It’s good that there are 4 teams fighting. Can you imagine the boredom of sitting around all week with a +600 ppt? What would you do, other than pearl gathering and spelling out your name in flame rams in the enemy garrison?

T1 does tend to immediately highlight your weaknesses, and slap you in the face with them, repeatedly. That said, it’s still a lot of fun; I think SoR would be fine up here.

Ohai, you’re winning this match, and you’re still unhappy. I just don’t understand :P If one server winning for weeks on end is bad for the game, wouldn’t you agree that you’ve contributed to it?

We all did our absolute best this week, nobody can deny that. Everyone loves a good rivalry.

JQ has had adjustments to make, as we get used to new people, new commanders, new tactics. We have worked on integrating all of this into our game, and thankfully due to a lack of giant egos, we have managed to do this a lot faster than I expected.

The servers in this tier don’t have to be friends, but if we could all try to maintain a modicum of respect for each other, it’d go a long way.

Help us even out the overwhelming odds at Oceanic time, join JQ! Renewed community spirit, excellent players and an unshakable fighting drive. I promise you won’t regret it.

That was a crazy fight between all 3 servers in Bay on BG BL btw. The final lords room fight was just a bright explosion of … a lot of dead people. Poor bay. It had like no walls, no gates… lol.

One week we were bored before reset, just doofing around in bluelake tower, and a thief standing outside from SoS party invited a guildie of mine. They chatted for a bit, nothing earth-shattering or ‘spying’ as it were, and we went back to messing around with him outside the tower. Sometimes, like in this case, it was just boredom + silliness = lol

It certainly feels like that when running around lately. We’re like a giant bubbling pot of JQ/ex-SoS/ex-SBI stew. Yum yum.

It will likely take just one more reset before SBI falls out of t2, and then the tier looks like it will stabilize. BG just needs to hold out for another week, which seems doable.

No matter what happens, this week has been one of the most craziest, stressful, fun, and outright… WHAT??! in recent memory…

You do still get moments where your brain is a bit confused when you tab around and see tags you can’t kill, but running around in a group of jq, former sbi, former sos is just fun

Yes, JQ had blackouts. Before they raised the population cap, this was the only way to get people in. It wasn’t the most enjoyable thing to do, because you had to sacrifice PPT to get it done, but when presented with no other viable option, it’s what we had to do.

I wish people around here actually understood what the heck a real exploit was, but I’m not holding my breath. I have never been more sick of a word.

We are still on VERY HIGH status, and looking for new servermates from every time zone, but especially Oceanic. Come and join one of the best communities out there before time runs out!
