TW: Thanks for the kind parting words on ts. I’m glad you guys enjoyed your time here, and got to beat up on BG and your server mates for lulz. Last week was so weird. Beating up former server mates (DB) while side by side with former server mates. It FELT vaguely like SoR/BG/JQ, at times with DB as the weird guy invited to the party that just sat in the back sniffing glue. Good times. We’ll see you guys out there

Personally not bothered that TW (or anyone else) came to ‘visit’ as it were. They did plenty during the past week aside from GvG, playing as any other ‘JQ’ player would, and were not taking up queue spaces from our players. Considering we don’t generally have queues on all of our maps these days, even in NA prime, it just wasn’t a concern. I think it’s kinda neat that they got to fight each other, as when will they honestly get the chance to again? I’d jump on the chance to play other teams from JQ head to head if it were possible; I think most people would!

Honestly, I was hoping for a SoR/BG/(someone other than JQ) match so it would be a purely SoR vs BG slugfest. JQ has jussssst enough to hold out to be a factor, even when TW goes back home. I realize this would have been mean to that third server, but uh… yeah.

I wanted to play TC this week. I have the sads. Maybe soon

JQ, HoD, SoR, SoS, BG, IoJ, ET, SBI, CD and now DB (hey, it still counts… kinda) … I think that’s the full T1 list. Of course, when you look at it, it’s pretty much all of the same people, just shifted around here and there. JQ was #4 once, actually… in September, I believe. But, anyway, not important in the grand scheme of things

I’d love to see a TCvsJQvsDB match up. This week showed we are just out of reach of being able to compete with 2 T1 servers, but I think having 1 T1 server in with some T2’s would make the PPT a little more even.

JQ is fun to fight. BG is just scary overpopulated compared to us in WvW.

That would be a fun match, yep. I’m so weary of the zergblobbing from all sides, and I’ve wanted to play TC for a while. I feel the need to race as a dolyak.

If the matchups were the same for NA:

1 vs 4 vs 5 would be SoR/TC/DB (not… terrible?)
2 vs 6 vs 7 would be BG/FA/SoS (!)
3 vs 9 vs 10 would be JQ/Kain/YB (!!)

That would be…. interesting, to say the least!

I can’t even remember now, but I don’t believe we’ve got any new guilds since free transfers closed. That was in, what, January? That said, from that point until the end of April, we didn’t need any. I don’t believe we need gobs of people at the moment, either. Just enough to set us back afloat, and not lolcrushsmash everyone else in the tier.

As silly as BG thinking they need more guilds is (really, guys? really?), I wish anet would just increase server pop already so we don’t have to resort to ancient voodoo that may or may not even work.

If the 4 servers affected by this could just have their server pop increased, we wouldn’t need to do such things It hasn’t happened since January when free transfers closed.

Most of JQ, a few exceptions, have ceased traditional trolling and replaced it with [LOVE], going to bread and other such silliness because we like to have fun and snuggle each other fiercely!

anyone watching the t2 thread if how good sos is doing vs 2 t2 servers shows really how much all of us here in t1 would blow them out of the water in numbers

I’m only going to speak for TC, but a good portion of our population is taking a much needed break. The score doesn’t reflect our servers normal output, nor the output when we decide to rally people from outside WvW. SoS and FA are good opponents, but the population difference would be very noticeable if it was put forth. But that wouldn’t be fun for anyone, especially not us. What’s the point of winning by a large amount if it causes the other two servers to not even want to come out?

If you want to see how we do normally, look at the last 3 weeks with Dragonbrand.

I think it goes back to the post above, same thing will happen more likely with any of T1 facing the T2 servers.

I feel a few servers could be competitive in T1 that aren’t currently in T1. Win? Most likely not. But it wouldn’t be a faceroll stomp either. T2 has grown a lot and the coverage and skill needed to play there has increased too. I honestly feel like FA, DB or TC could hold their own here. Again, not win but hold their own. A good example of this is SoS going into T2 from a few tiers below, and hanging on. Many say they’re learning new tactics and adapting to the change. Any T2 server would do the same in the face of tougher odds and adversity.

Many people think of the TC some of you faced a few months back. We’re pretty different now.

Let’s just hope Devon and all of his talk of ~variety~ give us the chance to all find out.

There seem to be very pronounced differences between the T1 NA meta, and the T1 EU meta— including things related to GvG it seems — to state the obvious. That said, when RG vacationed on JQ for that week, we all learned so much, and the knowledge spread… therefore changing the meta to try and match what was going on over there. To be honest, EU players looking at T1 NA and thinking “It’s not the same, wahh!” are likely correct, but it’s never going to change unless we have some folks come along and help us change it. This is one of the eternal problems, when a server is attempting to recruit folks over to NA.

How is US t1 now?. Any guilds actually running in 20-30 man or is it all on 1 commander 24/7 60-100 man blobs all week?. Making usual excuse for being bad its not gvg its wvw… From reading first few pages seems fair few guilds interested in some GvG. How are the EU hours?. How is the lag etc?.

Depends on the server, and the timezone. NA prime sees the most blobs outside of perhaps SEA. I see more 60-70 man ‘blobs’ from SoR, solely because they have the people to do it (plus if you’ve got a fair number of one guild running, with a commander people like, you’ll attract pugs and thus… the blob is formed whether you want it or not). That said, we’re all guilty of running them from time to time. I know a few of our JQ guilds have been going toe to toe with SoR in GvG, maybe not always to prove dominance either way, but to learn from each other. It’s definitely increasing in popularity.

As for JQ, with our smaller numbers we tend to run a main force, with a 10-20 man group supporting/making a nuisance of themselves. SoR is the only server with a large dedicated EU force in IRON, though BG has folks at this time, and JQ sees numbers as well, mostly comprised of the EU players scattered around our international guilds. Can’t speak for the lag, being in the US myself

Hey, I have seen many guilds fight and fight and carry on only to fail to take/protect a camp while they lose a keep. It’s baffling. I mean, I understand a fully upgraded camp is a pain to lose, but it takes a few mins to get back. Getting a keep back could be far trickier, especially if you’re letting a T3 go for a freaking camp (yes, this has happened!).

Yeah, that would be fun! Except, I think that’d send FA to face SoR and BG. They may not mind, but …. yeah.

I don’t want to go against SoS, I think it would be a nightmare for them if they faced anyone from T1. Move us all around T1/T2, but that’s about as low as we should drop. I can’t imagine how bored we’d all be if we went from constant fighting, to just rolling our faces on the keyboard and getting a 695.

Yeah, let’s not start trying to see who has the bigger schwartz. We all know who each other has on the field by now.

Pudding? Hmm. I was gonna set up a jello wrestling pit for BG and SoR earlier, but they seem to have retreated to their respective corners. Maybe someone rang a bell.

BPA is maybe 2 people during NA, and both of us usually rep other guilds, so I wouldn’t put us down there There are still some FIRE on JQ. Also, Acolytes, vH in NA.

We have lot of PvX guilds, some on that very list even, and small guilds that do their best work alongside the main zerg (Aco’s WvW crowd, SG, DA, WARD, vH). But, you guys know this. You don’t see a lot of giant blobs (50-60+) from us comprised of one guild, as we just can’t do it (outside of SF at reset maybe).

Some matches I would like to see:

SoR-BG-TC / JQ-DB-FA
SoR-JQ-TC / BG-FA-DB
JQ-TC-FA / SoR-BG-DB

I don’t think there’s much chance of it happening, unless they can manage to jiggle the lock on T1, but a girl can dream.

I don’t think it was the worst idea ever, just… if anet could share the love to T1, that’d be great. We deserve some crazy crap , too! Plus, I’m sure there’s some servers out there that would like to fight T1.

Good for you BT, GvG is kitten measuring plain and simple. It is the fall back “come at me bro” of WvW, and hilarious when you think about the implications. First off, and I’m sure you can relate, TSYM has chewed up zergs 3, 4, even 5 times our size before because they are uncoordinated or we were better trained. We have also outnumbered an enemy and through skilled manipulation of the terrain, a well placed piece of siege, or a 3+ stage feign/portal flank were sent packing.

The point is this, if you need that balance to make sure that your kitten remains unchallenged, WvW is not your stage. Being in situations where you are outnumbered drastically, or taking a massive force against another massive force, practicing the 5 Ds of Dodgeball until one of you makes the winning play and claim victory (and bags) is what WvW is all about!

What I think you are looking for, is sPvP/tPvP. Don’t come in here and bawl when its not balanced, or your team isn’t big enough. If you had 10 amazingly skilled people, and I rolled you over with 50, who is at fault? Me for killing you, or you for parking that little SmartCar of a force in my way? Honestly, its not OUR fault that sPvP isn’t more popular. Turns out people want to play with a more dynamic battlefield, and enjoy larger, more epic, and less structured fights.

Nothing gets a team on cloud nine faster than taking a massive force out with a bare bones small op team. Try it, if they beat you, try it again! Its intensely hard, but so rewarding when you accomplish it!

Oh yea, and BT welcome to T1. Here, when asked how many you had with you, the answer is always around 10-15.

It is exactly 15. No more, no less.

I second the comment about wiping groups larger than you. You just have to go for it. A large group kitten around and uncoordinated is like packages falling out of santa’s bag, dropping badges everywhere.

I’m for the new system… but for the love of corndogs, please tweak it so T1 can have some fun deviations as well. Not that I don’t… erm… love BG and SoR. That warm and tender love you feel when you’re holding someone under water. It’s just that we could all use some variety. Constant weeks of “Wow, same matchup. Maybe we’ll be BLUE this week, gais!” isn’t… you know, fun for anyone.

You know, it’s not about how you fall down, but how you get back up.

We’re trying very hard to pull ourselves up, but we could use a few more hands. We’re a scrappy bunch on JQ. We have absolutely no plans to give up, or to quit playing. While it’s true we’re going through some changes lately, our core remains strong.

It’s time to rebuild around it, and that’s where we could use some new players. It’s been said before, but we really need players in the EU and NA timezone. You would never be at a lack of people to play against, and they are strong, competent players who have fought tooth and nail to get to where they are — our opponents. They won’t make your time on the field easy for you, and you’ll be happy for it.

Tiers… eh, don’t worry about tiers anymore. There’s no way to know from week to week where you’re going to end up, so come for the fights. Come for the people. We are a crazy bunch of people who hover somewhere between adult and 13 year old boy mentally. You will be fed, you will be watered, you will be welcomed into a supportive environment… and subjected to Strike Force. I’m… I’m terribly sorry about that last bit.

SoR, argh, I sympathize with you on the DDOS-ing. It used to happen to us ALL THE TIME. I feel this is a crappy side-effect of first place. Doesn’t help now, but a backup somewhere could help in the long run.

GOOD fights tonight, all around. We may be stuck together for another week, but I doubt we would have got these kinds of fights outside of our tier tonight. Whatever the week brings, it brings… I’m proud of you tonight, JQ.

I kinda see anet sitting around a giant wheel with the servers on it going SPIN TO WIN, and cackling at the results. Do you take the red portal and end up in your home bl? Narnia? South Philadelphia?

We can queue one map most nights in NA these days, in addition to tkitten queue (which is likely common on most servers; folks love them some EB). As for more exciting… depends on how you personally define it. You’ll see your fair share of large scale battles (we all seem to love 3-ways in garrison… any garrison), as well as smaller skirmishes.

JQ has a lot of smaller guilds that like to run alongside our main zerg force, running strategic moves on our opposition, so there is definitely a lot of fun to be had outside the zerg. As for more rewarding, it definitely feels that way when you’ve wiped a ginormous zergblob double your size When the numbers feel stacked against you, it’s ‘exciting’ and ‘rewarding’ to me to pull off some of the stuff we do on JQ these days

Confirmed constant (every 30 seconds) crashes on JQBL. Nobody can stay connected. Can’t zone, can’t go in or out of portals….

It would be nice if the new matchups were listed before reset. It’s kinda hard to plan your attack when you have no idea who you’re going up against o.O
