LOL@Spicy.
SBI only ended up in 4th place this week because we got hammered by JQ and HOD simultaneously for the first three-four days of the match and by the time they were done carving up everything between them, players stopped bothering to log in to defend. It sucks, and its demoralizing, and that’s why we had zero queues and our own borderlands was a mix of green and red (we were blue).
What I’m trying to say is: deal with it. We’ll be gone next week, hopefully.
Yeah, the winning servers need more appeal! Now instead of attracting bandwagoners who want EZ wins and false pride, they can also attract people who want extra loot.
Wait, no. This is an awful idea.
The downranking system does make levels feel less rewarding, IMHO. Part of the appeal of gaining levels is feeling more powerful, but the system is kinda badly designed and a lot of people feel LESS powerful in a level 20 zone at level 80 than they did when they were ACTUALLY level 20.
I only have a norn Ele so I didn’t know, but that sucks.
Also, I dont know why people are arguing for some convoluted tag-on to an existing skill.
50% falling damage reduction + Nearly Useless Side Effect = Falling Damage Trait
Put it in Earth tier 1, and be done with it already.
No, I think everybody is supposed to have a fall damage reduction. It doesn’t make any sense to give 7 classes a feature and not give the 8th one, especially when it’s a universal form of damage. Eles cannot do something “special” to somehow avoid falling damage. It hits every character in the same way.
Arguing that its intentional is inane, please stop.
Misfire Wolf (which I dont count since its not general access): Unusable
Become the Raven: Unusable
Become the Wolf: Unusable
Become the Snow Leopard: Unusable
Conjure Fiery Greatsword: Unusable
Tornado: Usable
Is this intentional, or just an oversight?
Without any orbs and facing a wall of bleating plebs at every turn, the outlook is very grim for SBI.
Hoping to see some new challengers next match!
Saw a Susan Tree Anthony. liked that.
Mortar needs some SERIOUS tuning. The range is only slightly longer than Grenades, it fires slower, it’s immobile, it doesnt count as a seige weapon…
Having been pvping for the past couple of weeks there’s almost no situation that I have been in where a mortar has been more useful than grenades. It’s a terrrrrriiible 30 point skill. Every other 30 point skill is superior in nearly every way. Even supply drop is useful, since they have a net and a heal turret, and you can annoy keep defenders by dropping them on the keep ledges.
It needs to either fire further (possibly even becoming the longest range attack from a profession in the game), hit WAY WAY harder than it does, or, and this would be the best thing (and most broken) be counted as siege.
They need to make butter/chocolate an ADDITIONAL drop from bags, not something that replaces the blue trophy items. Sadly, I dont think they will.
Yeah, as usual, people who didn’t rush on day 1 and exploit get the shaft because of knee-jerk corrections.
Yeah I noticed this yesterday as well; was getting iron back from making bows, even though not a single peice of iron is in them.
That mushroom jump is awful, but the trick is to jump on the stem of the mushroom, not the flat part. Then use the stem to jump up onto the flat part.
Costs scaling to level doesn’t make any sense except as a goldsink, and I oppose it. I would like to see waypoint costs become linear based on the distance traveled and nothing else.
I have been trying to use the gates as much as possible but running on foot everywhere has gotten old, fast.
The main problem with engineer is the litany of bugs. I was very disappointed to see almost no real changes to the class with tonight’s patch.
Engineer rifle spells and warrior rifle spells seem to be backwards.

In its current form, it’s not a rifle, it’s a shotgun. It’s nice, but I would like a sniper rifle option. I would like something long-range to shoot with that doesn’t give me carpal tunnel syndrome from spamming grenades.
Warriors can’t be the masters of everything. Engs need some love.
I agree they need to be tweaked some. But that’s pretty much a mantra for our entire class. It obviously wasn’t “finished” by release time.
They can do it to me. So I should be able to do it to them.
“That is all.”
Scaling waypoint costs to level is senseless. It should be a flat rate determined by how far you’re going. Did it somehow become harder to teleport my character across time and space because he’s tougher and better at shooting a gun?
It’s just an aggravating goldsink and it should be adjusted to make sense.
Risen mobs have way too much hp, IMHO, when set against other level-comperable mobs.
Also, the contested waypoint nonsense should be scaled back.
I agree with the OP for the most part.
Great ideas. There’s definitely room for improvement.
You can’t level crafting without churning out piles of items you’re never going to use. That’s even using the discovery system almost exclusively.
You can’t level anything aside from Jewelcrafting or Cooking concurrently with anything else, since EVERYTHING ELSE uses the EXACT SAME scheme of blue upgrade items. Use up your small fangs leveling Huntsman? Too bad, you can’t use them for tailoring, and now youre stuck either grinding or buying off the auction house.
Making completely unrelated professions all emphatically reliant on the same blue items is simply bad design.
My suggestions:
1) make food drops from bags additional to whatever the bag should have had (no more butter instead of totems, please).
2) make cloth scraps drop directly from humanoid mobs, and leather scraps drop directly from animal mobs.
3) remove cloth and leather from treat bags, and make them the domain of blue upgrade items.
The OP is right that it does need fixing. The whole downleveling system is short-sighted. Also, yes, the Butter Phenomenon needs to be adjusted. They want to rip butter away from vendors and stick it into disgusting centaur bags, fine. But the butter should drop IN ADDITION to the cloth/leather/upgrade items that would have otherwise been in there. Tailors/Leatherworkers were the ones who actually got nerfed, since I’ve got butter spilling out of every pocket, it seems.
There are so many skill challenges, hearts, dynamic events, and NPCs that get bugged and are not completable (seems worst in the Ascalon zones, for some reason). When there were resets and patches every day, many of these got “unstuck”. Now that there aren’t regular resets, these bugged events/etc simply stay that way for hours or even days.
Until you get things running smoothly, a regular quick reset would help a lot of people trying to complete maps.
I agree. I was leveling with someone, and I couldn’t even craft because it would give me so many levels. Would like to turn it off for future characters.
Both Ascalon Cata and Cadeceus Manor were doing the split-the-party-into-different-instances bug to my party tonight.
Seems like the kind of bug that shouldn’t have gotten out of beta.
These issues need addressing, or at least acknowledging. There is so much stuff broken with the engineer class; I love it but I want it to be fixed!
Yeah, waypoint rates should be fixed (not scale) and they should not cost as much as they do.
Whatever the problem was, this was a really terrible and lazy way to fix it.
Either this is a terrible bug, and it should be fixed soon…
Or it was a slimy change that was slipped in without any notice whatsoever, and it should be reverted.
Either way, it needs to change.
If youre not using discoveries, you should. They give huge amounts of xp (both crafting and player). Try to make as many different kinds of weapons and armors as you can. If you need the special items (fangs, totems, etc) I’ve found one of the best ways to get them is to farm bandits, centaurs, and ogres. They drop bags with random materials in them.
sigh. hoping many of these issues get addressed soon.
I feel like my engineer has been getting weaker and weaker as I level up, also.
I have a ranger and he’s 10 levels below my engineer, and he has more power than my engineer. Both have +20 traited to power.
I think the kits need to be looked at; some of them are decent but many of them I don’t think are scaling correctly.
They also stealth nerfed the dye recipes; increased the materials needed to make them.
I wish this kind of stuff was in the patch notes.
