Fear, TW, hitting bay, and then Tysm and VoTF hitting hills. We would teleport to one keep, wipe you, teleport to the other, wipe the other server. Back and forth back and forth until the both of you gave up and left the map.

Then later TW, and Fear show up again, and this time you clearly outnumbered us (and dont give me any bullkitten about this one. Your zerg in hills clearly had at least 20 more people than we did, and you were hitting bay at the same time) and we still held for ages. And while you were doing this, we took bay and hills on your borderlands (because you had sent so many people to our BL rather than defend your own home)

When did this happen? Just wondering, because I wasn’t there.

The idea that an individual posting represents his or her server is a load of crap.

Someone claiming to be a part of a server is essentially a representative of that server. Therefore, the actions of each person posting on the forums, claiming a particular server, represents their server for good or bad.

Let this be a reminder to the members of SoR, whether you have been on the server from day one, are a recent transfer, or just new to the forums. We ask that you refrain from using derogatory chat toward our opponents or anyone else for that matter. If you wish to express your thoughts while under the effects of frustration, anger, or any other emotion, please remember that your actions represent our server.

As for an example, many of the SoR lifers that frequent the forums will not belittle, put down, or insult other players with deliberate intentions. Although we have a competitive spirit and perhaps a level of disdain for our enemies, we still show the respect that is due to the members of the GW2 community. We do this, and we ask that the members of SoR do the same.

Forum wars are useless. Leave your enemies bloody on the battlefield, and they won’t do any kitten talking on the forums if they are actually a force worthy of contending with.

This isn’t just for them either, but it’s for all the people and guilds that take advantage of an unintended mechanic for their advantage. For shame.

Honestly, this little invulnerable spot does nothing to affect the meta of the game. Just wait for them to come out, and then stomp on them.

Big thing I’ve noticed about SoS – half the time, there is literally little to no commanding presence on the map. There’s no commander saying rally to ____ and stack on ____, it’s just a lot of wandering around in little 10 man, militia skirmish parties that get mauled over by 30+ zergs. The 10 rez…and do the same thing over again.

Couple nights ago, had a commander telling us to attack Durios with no siege. We mindlesly DPS’d a fortified gate for 10 minutes until the inevitable SoR zerg demolished us. I don’t even know what some of these commanders are doing, but SoS is extremely disorganized at the moment and it’s frustrating to see that.

Why didn’t you drop siege? Do you always expect your commanders to drop it for you? Try aiding the fight by helping the commanders.

Getting back on track, there is nothing wrong with the damage output of confusion. Like a full stack of high ticking bleeds, it does good damage. But, that is no call for a nerf. It is fine the way it is.

FEAR does not use hacks or any other type of cheating in order to gain any advantage. We only utilize constantly-changing tactics in order to counter, overcome, and defeat our adversaries in WvW. Our policy is strictly straight forward. We do tolerate, permit, or promote cheating in any way. If you ever see someone in Feelings Aren’t Required [FEAR] hacking or cheating, please take a screenshot and report it to one of our leaders.

Edit: I may have misunderstood the original intent of the suggestion.

I have not read through all the posts, but auto run and w run interrupt pickups. Basically, I find that I am not able to pick up items when using auto run and/or w movement. I find that I am forced to stop for a moment of time to pick up an item before moving again. Is this meant to be an aspect of game play, or is this a bug?

Yes, the ascended gear offers Invader’s, Rabid, and some other stats similar to those found on exotics, but stats like Carrion and Cleric’s are missing from ascended gear. This needs to be fixed. There should be similar stats available through the ascended gear like those available on exotic gear. It is unfair to the community of players that some stat combinations like Invader’s Power/Vitality/Toughness gain improved stats through ascended gear while other stats like Cleric’s Healing Power/Power/Toughness do not. I agree that the older skin looks much better.

There are a lot of stats on the exotic gear that are not on the ascended gear, and even some stats on ascended gear that is not on exotic gear. For instance, there is no ascended gear with stats similar to Carrion (Con. dmg/Pow./Vit) or Cleric related stats, and there is ascended stats like Con. dmg/Vit./Toughness that is not found anywhere else in game. I think the ascended gear is broken, because it does not continue from all exotic stat combinations. I have no need for ascended gear, because the stats offered through ascended gear do not support any of my builds.

We have all been on the receiving end of an overwhelming force. We have all been “camped” at our spawns one time or another. We have all felt bored, because the matchup was going too well in our favor or completely against us. We have all suffered, at one time or another, from long queues. The WvW ranking system is not broken. The servers with the most skilled and dedicated players will move their way up the ladder while others will suffer defeat (this is by no means a boastful statement).

Throughout the history of GW2, so far, many guilds have changed servers for one reason or another creating an uneven playing field. SoR has fought tooth and nail to achieve its goal of reaching Tier 1. SoR has spent more time in any single position than any other server, at least in the past eighteen weeks of recorded rankings: http://mos.millenium.org/matchups/evolution/na. SoR spent eleven weeks in 5th place where eight of those weeks were spent trying to overtake BG. BG however, was able to finally push to T1, because they had much stronger Oceanic coverage. Our dedicated NAs acquired us the needed points to secure 5th and not fall below that position during our time against BG, until their Oceanic forces made a final push and their NAs defended with everything they had to allow them to ascend into T1.

SoR realized an opportunity was before us to secure a spot in T1, and we have amassed our forces to take claim to our rightful position in the top 3. I am very satisfied with the improvement of our guilds, and I enjoy fighting along side the old Rallians as well as the new. My initial reaction to some of the newer guilds was less than positive to say the least, but I am pleased to say that many of them have proved my initial concerns wrong.

There will be hard times to come for SoR and TC. As SoR moves up, we will be faced with two worthy opponents, which will most likely be SoS and JQ. As SoR leaves T2, TC will have one new and one old opponent.

To both TC and SBI, don’t give up the fight. Each new fight brings needed experience for perfecting our skills in WvW. Like I said before, I am excited to see PINK improving. They are slowly moving from a force that I used to mock to a more formidable force. You all have put up some good fights so far, but don’t let SoR’s point lead get in the way of your goals. Never give up, but keep on fighting.

Lets zerg the spawner and surround it with artillery and bomb it with trebs so nobody can do anything to us.

There are side exits on all 4 maps.

Yes, this has been discussed many threads ago. It is nearly impossible to be spawn camped in any map, because there are at least three exits from every spawn. Holding the enemy back toward the spawn is a legitimate tactic, annoying but legitimate.

Nice job SOR for steamrolling TC and SBI. It’s such a pitiful state now that WvW is officially not even fun anymore. Great Job TC for coming up with any sort of organization or planning, heck, even the semblance of working together. We get, you won. Can we move on to the next match now, where it MAYBE, just MAYBE, have the semblance of equality.

It will be fun again once the matchups even out. It was like this before as other servers moved their way up and some moved down. Just be patient, and don’t give up against your new opponents. Each fight brings experience and knowledge that can be used for making everyone better and more coordinated fighters. Use your experience and knowledge to better yourself and others. I’m sorry WvW is not fun for you right. SoR wants to go to T1, and we are fighting for it without remorse. I do want to note that I have seen some big improvements in the coordination and tactics of the TC players. I have particularly seen improvements in [PINK]. I like to see teams adapt and improve over time, and I tip my hat to you for doing just that. All the SBI fighting to hold whatever they can have impressed me by showing true heart in the face of adversity.

I suffice it safe to say that you were not on SoS when we faced them in WvW. I also suffice it safe to say that you never watched any of the Mission Impossible movies, because Tom Cruise never said anything similar to the things I have said. First of all, welcome to SoR to the new guild arrivals. We are hoping to see the remaining Oceanic and Asian transfers here shortly.

I am going to post this information, because I am honestly not all that impressed with the performance I have seen from the influx of transfers (it’s my opinion, take it for what it is). This is what I feel should be the focus of SoR over the coming two weeks. I also believe that all guilds serious about being contenders in WvW should direct their focus toward these ideas.

1st. Use this time before the next reset to acquire the needed gear that will make your forces the most effective i.e. level 80 exotics, ascended gear, and so forth.

2nd. Use this time to create strategies for team composition, set and learn individual and group roles in team composition, and balance team composition to make you the most effective fighting force you can be.

3rd. Establish rules of engagement for fighting e.g. not over extending and executing orders quickly.

4th. Have fun training.

The following two weeklong battles should be dedicated to completing the previously mentioned tasks. At this point in time, we are not ready to contend with Tier 1. Once we feel that these tasks have sufficiently been implemented and executed, our forces will amass and take us directly to Tier 1.

Yes, most of our forces are on vacation this week i.e. leveling alts and doing PvE.

[FEAR], we simply walk into Mordor.

This post is to address some issues that I have noticed regarding SoR and to offer some helpful advice to anyone willing to listen. This post should be taken with serious regard, because the issues I am going to address must be corrected before we get to Tier 1, should we get to Tier 1, and if we are to have a remotely successful time in Tier 1 ranking.

The first issue I wish to address is the increased amounts of low level players in WvW since our influx of new players to our home world. I want to use the image below as a staring example as to how ineffective low level characters are in WvW. Noting the image, I counted nine Sanctum of Rall Invaders. And of those nine invaders, at least five of them are force leveled up to level 80. Note the green upward facing arrow the left of the character level. I partly addressed this issue in last weeks match-up thread and stated the following:

With that being said, it should be noted that we ask for and expect the best of our teammates in WvW. There are times when characters below level 80 are welcome in WvW, and we will glady fight beside you as you gain levels and Karma, learn new skills and tactics, and become a known asset on the fields of battle. However, characters below level 80 typically lack the proper stats from armor and accessories that give level 80 characters the advantage that makes them an effective fighting force. Therefore, we ask that you bring your best, but we will never turn you away from fighting beside us.

The last issue I want to address is communication. Many of us utilize the SoR community Teamspeak 3 (TS) server. Noting the image below, I can note that Choo actively utilizes the community server for their community led battles, but I have honestly never seen GSCH, FV, PSY, and many other guild tags in the TS server. I am going to make an educated guess and say that it is more than likely that this group of SoR invaders in the image had no verbal communication other than through their respective guilds. I seriously implore SoR players to either join the community TS server or have a representative from your guild listen in on the commanders (most of whom actively command through the community server) so that you are able to hear the orders and actions required in real time without the delay of text chatting. Often times, our commanders will have forces split between different channels while fighting on the same Borderlands. While commanding separate forces, they communicate between each other through whispers and/or map chat. This communication between our guilds and community has been a catalyst throughout our history has a server and our establishment as having arguably the strongest North American presence. Without adequate communication, forces will constantly be clueless as to what needs to be done and to what effect the actions should be executed. I constantly have to type out simple text chats like “moving out,” “do not attack,” and many other simple and drawn out commands in order to make our missions more successful, because there are far too many players not listening to the voice chat of the organized groups led by our commanders. Please take an active role in becoming a valuable player by listening to the voice chat of our commanders.

I don’t think that balancing WvW is something that ANET is all that capable of doing, because it is not in their best interests to force people to go to certain servers. Also, I hope this never happens. I prefer weeklong WvW battles over short sprints of fighting in 1 and 3 bay matchups.

I do not hold the right to speak for all of SoR, but I would like to share some of my thoughts that I feel are mutual between most of the server and myself.

First of all, from [FEAR] and the rest of us here at SoR, we warmly welcome [SYN] and [Hel], and we hope that you find our invitation to join our server worth while. We hope you stick around and see fit to call SoR home.

As for anyone else (bandwagoners), unless you cover a time zone with less coverage, i.e. Oceanic time zones, we welcome you as well though with some level of disdain. Oceanics, we welcome you with open arms due to our lack of coverage during those hours.

With that being said, it should be noted that we ask for and expect the best of our teammates in WvW. Becoming a master at your classes’ roles in team fights, tower offence, tower defense, open world combat, and maximizing your ability and focus in helping the whole force should be your first priorities, just as it is ours. “What many can do with brute force few can do with focus, execution, and good leadership.”

There is far more to WvW than beating a gate with auto attacks and running around with a massive group of people. I will see you on the battlefield.
