Every thread about Kaineng’s tiers has gone to the kittens. I wonder what’s the common denominator?
Definitely not FIFO. They can say it’s FIFO all they want, but I’ve had guild mates enter the bg before me even though I started queuing 15 minutes before them.
Meh, not much to do now, except try train our troop to improve since I think not many will transfer here if their sole purpose is wvw. But in PVE, it isn’t affected one bit. Way to many people roaming around killing those things.
CD will have to go some more tiers, and eventually it will stabilize.
Oddly the incentive to move to a server for PvE is about to be gone since people will be able to guest to any server in their region. The only reason to transfer this week is really WvW.
I’m not sure you get your WvW/guild bonuses from your home server when you guest.
You do realize if they did that, people would have been furious with having choice being taken away and quit? Allowing people to choose, by informing them, they ensure that there’s no fallout. Sure, it’s created a mess in WvW, but there is a significantly higher pve population that would have been completely outraged if this had been silently implemented.
They’ve had how many months to decide on their server?
If something is free there is an expectation for it to continue to be free, unless otherwise announced. To do it without telling people would result in outrage. And that would translate into cancelled accounts. Which in turn would eat into gem store revenue.
No, because server transfers were never meant to be free beyond the “initial phase”.
But hey, what’s done is done. WvW is a cluster**** because of it. Anet should just manually rearrange the tiers and let it roll from there.
Is Kaineng a good server?
Well that really depends. I’m not sure ArenaNet has ever released the specs of the machines that the servers run on.
There was a pretty good article about WoW though and how it costs like USD137k per day to run, so if it’s anything to go by…. Well go figure.
That said I don’t think ArenaNet gives any specific server better quality rigs. So to answer your question, all servers are probably equal.

This is my second post in this forum and i have some suggestions for Kaineng. What you have now are numbers and coverage but your tactics and field combat are slightly on the weak side. I noticed how everytime CD is able to rally similar numbers, we would be able to wipe Kaineng’s zerg. I’ve no doubt that FA and DB who are able to match your numbers have superior tactics and field combat. Maguuma who I’ve never had the pleasure to fight against is a prime example looking at the current score in T3. Both Maguuma and Kaineng received transfers but lack the experience of facing servers who are able to match your numbers and coverage. It is something that will come with time.
I understand we are currently low in numbers and this will probably be the last time we face each other in the same tier for awhile but as time goes by, CD will be able to make a comeback because i see many determined people who has decided to stay and fight. It is a fighting spirit that is indomitable. To everyone that has left CD, I sincerely hope you will find what you are looking for in the respective servers you have gone to. Everyone except Jarc ….. n ….. t of [RISE] because you are the most gutless, arrogant imbecile I’ve had the displeasure of seeing in-game. I have no doubt that you will soon be seen for who you are by the Kaineng community just like you are hated by the majority of the CD community. I’m pretty sure nobody in CD misses you and are willing to see you back. Multiple rewards have been offered to take screenshots of your corpse. The next person to kill you is certainly going to be rich.
To Yak’s Bend, I hope you guys can take inspiration in how we are not giving up despite the huge numerical disadvantage and fight to reclaim your borderland. It serves no purpose for us at CD or you to send zergs into each other’s borderlands except aiding Kaineng who frankly does not need the help. It really doesn’t matter who ends up 2nd or 3rd. What is important is we keep fighting and never give up. Score is no longer relevant because Kaineng is undoubtedly the stronger server. Sorry we don’t have much chance to face each other in this match up because we are putting all our efforts in reclaiming our borderland.
Lastly I would like to make an appeal to everyone in CD to try out WvW if you have never tried it before. I welcome anyone willing to transfer in but more than anything, i would like to try a different approach. CD always have had a strong PVE population and i would like to invite them to give WvW a try. Our server will be so much stronger if we are able to have more people from our current population participating. I understand we are currently losing but with your help, we will be able to turn things around much quicker.

Are we getting together a pool for a bounty on RISE corpses now? My Guild will happily donate 30 mystic coins.
I wonder how much of us losing as bad as we are right now is due to the large list of guild transferring off last week, or whether it’s because we are up against Kaineng. My friends and I love WvW, and if this is how Crystal Desert is going to be performing from now on, then we might get the hell out of here too before paid transfers come up.

WvW is mostly a numbers game. Especially with culling and AoE damage working the way it is now.
While a few guilds may have left, it’s mostly good riddance. I won’t mention any specific guilds, but they know who they are. Some guilds will be missed.
CD has never been a dominating server. We may have blown up weaker servers, but that’s just it. Weaker servers. Kaineng has too much manpower for us to handle.
Give it a week and things will go back to normal again.

The endless waves of “mobs” coming from the left, then right, rinse and repeat. We dubbed it Kaineng tower defense.
Very disappointed in CD.
Was in the jump puzzle. The path forward was blocked by 2 CD. I tried to challenge them to send one to fight me one on one.
Unfortunately I was simply too intimidating for them, and both came down to 2 v 1.
Fortunately I’m on my thief and thief’s never die so I just used shadow refuge to run out of combat and waypoint away.
For shame CD, for shame. Where’s your sense of fun?
FA in the JPs? I’ll give a pass to any other server in the JP, but FA? You’re fair game.
Let me get this straight, you say that ‘the company is greedy and not looking out for players, only their profits’, and yet isn’t banning people a way to make a loss? Taking away players does not increase profits. It can however scare people away. Thing is, they are thinking of the best interests of the game, not their wallet. Do you know what kind of damage those items can cause when left abusable? It’s not like they are banning anybody who touched the exploit. They banning people who abused it like crazy. However I believe they should offer a way out. Item wipe of the character or account in exchange for the unban. But the thing is, the expoit has to be obvious it’s an exploit. Otherwise it can be viewed as tramping on the playerbase and cause an uproar.
Players asked ArenaNet whether it was considered an exploit.
No answer.
A player asked a n ArenaNet employee in game if it was considered an exploit.
Said employee was making the item in game himself.
There was no news AT ALL, no announcement, absolutely NOTHING that would indicate that ArenaNet considered this a bannable exploit.
Few months ago, Godskull weapons were CONSISTENTLY being turned into Precursors. ArenaNet patched that, but no one was banned.
Where is the consistency? If they’re going consider something an exploit, announce it. I don’t care if more people will do it. If they do then you get to catch those people who are now definitely deliberately exploiting.
Instead, the question whether it was an exploit or working as intended was NEVER answered officially until people started getting banned.
I don’t care that <200 people got banned (I for one think someone pulled that number out of their behind), the fact is that this sets a terrible precedent.
From now on, ANYTHING that could potentially make money can suddenly be considered an exploit.
Does not justify your “ban first talk later” approach. I’ve seen some friends who got banned for simply helping each other out by loaning gold to each other to try their luck in the mystic toilet, and then returning the gold an hour later if they recouped everything.
I’ve also seen some ex guild mates get away with buying gold, botting, hacking and exploiting. Some of whom never got banned, some of whom actually successfully appealled and even got an apology from Arenanet.
I will not name names, but it shows very clearly that your system is completely flawed and punishes legit players.
Do you compensate unfairly banned players for the lost opportunity cost? No.
I’m actually more annoyed when it happens in a dungeon because not being able to use skills at crucial moments because I levelled is really not something that should be intended. Especially if you’re trying to time your blocks on instagib hits.
The knockback doesn’t compensate since those mobs don’t get affected by it.
Really a stupid mechanic, if it was even intended.
The level up animation is intefering with combat. It seems to cancel channel spells, as well as prevent any action for that 2-3 seconds when the toon does that whole “raise fist” animation.
Am I the only one getting this?
You can’t say “change is coming” when something is this broken.
You have no idea how much fotm and this whole agony resistance kitten rubbish has split the community into haves and have-nots.
You can only run the tier 2 once a day, and you’ll never get into a tier 3 group without agony resistance.
FOTM is grind at it’s worst.
Here’s an idea – Maguuma will just have fun since that’s sort of what our server does and why it’s a draw for casual people. I’ve been in DH borderlands almost elusively, because that’s where I’ll find more targets.
I like fighting you Maguuma guys. Had a run in on our way to get the JP and we decided to take a few supply camps. Gotta say you guys really do not give up.
that One cheater is probably why CD set up the two trebs so they could throw cows at DH spawn.
Here’s an idea, use a side exit. It’s there for a reason.

You can hot fix gamebreaking exploits but not something that prevents 100% completion?
I understand invulnerability in your spawn point, but as per the picture in this post.

I don’t think it’s intended for defenders to be able to set up mortars and arrow carts and shell with impunity, dish out nukes from the cliffs, all while invulnerable.
I’m not going to point fingers and accuse a server of exploiting, because I think every server is doing this.

Play it to 80. PvP isn’t the be all end all of the game. Stop doing these “I tested xx in PvP and it seems fine”.
Go to sparkfly den/SoD or any of those areas with large numbers of underwater skill points.

The game isn’t just PvP or WvW. There are some events/skill points that are underwater.
Saying “don’t go underwater” isn’t an answer.

I think we deserve to know exactly why the only skill that was worth anything underwater is now 33% more worthless than it was before.
How are we supposed to fight underwater now? Play support roles? I thought you guys were trying to do away with the “holy trinity”? Oh wait. Underwater skills don’t even provide any sort of support.
well hit them where it hurts and stop buying any gems with cash till they get their heads out of their “kittens”.
This is getting to the point of ridiculous. I am getting sick and tired of trying to complete a map only to be faced with a skill point that cannot be completed because ArenaNet can’t be bothered to fix them.
Spectral Archer has been bugged for the past week.
Warmaster Yulia shops up as spawned but is hiding in the logs.
Seriously, how hard is it to put an altar for skill points which require you to fight someone with an option that says “NPC missing – use this for reset”? Or you could simply code in a reset for the NPC if no one is doing the event.
Here’s a fix. Make it an altar that summons the stupid spectral archer. HOW HARD IS IT TO DO THAT?
When a LARGE group battle is occurring, sometimes you get hit by invisible enemies.
That’s just pretty lame no matter how you look at it.
There are limitations to how much the game can render, but a simple fix would be to prioritize rendering your enemies first, then followed by your allies. No?
Another thing is Keep Lords becoming invulnerable if they leave a specific area. A certain server was exploiting this tonight. I won’t point fingers. I get that you wouldn’t want a team pulling the keep lord infinitely into some area to be sniped, but couldn’t you just simply teleport the keep lord back to his spawn position (and not at full health) when he leaves the radius?
Well this is the absolute WORST part of my GW2 experience. NPCs contribute absolute zilch.
Why do they seem to rez fellow NPCs but not me? If I’m downed, they need to have a rez priority on me rather than trying to do their pathetic DPS to the enemy.
Personal stories as it is tend to be a gold sink for me due to the large number of zero-exp/loot mobs because of the large number of useless NPCs I’m given.
5 NPCs and me do not equate to having 6 players when the NPCs do like 1 attack every 5 seconds, and havekittenfor brains.
Saying that I should get friends to play my personal story doesn’t cut it either.
NPCs should prioritise rezzing, difficulty level should be scaled to the number of players ACTUALLY playing rather than number of NPCs given
