Sry I forgot to add im using Healing signet and Signets of rage(use during battle).
I tried using Condition dmg, but alot of threads say (stay away from condition as warrior)
And i also agree with it . i went on a condition build once and i didn’t like it.
Im using ruby orb atm.So i need burst dmg mostly and little bit of CC ?
Are you kidding? Condition warrior is god mode now. Anyone who told you it’s bad is stupid. Don’t listen to people who say condition spec or healing spec on warrior is bad, because they’re all WRONG. It takes 5-10 people to kill me, my pindown does almost 20k worth of bleed damage, my combustive shot ticks at nearly 1k per tick. No one will live through that. You need to get your condition damage up to like 2k then you’ll see how amazingly overpowered it is and you’ll destroy most people you encounter with ease. And before you ask, no I will not post my build, we don’t share weapons with potential enemies, that would be stupid. (Would the US tell North Korea how to build a nuke?) If you were on Yak’s Bend and my guild deemed you worthy, we might consider sharing the builds we all run. And unlike most people on this forum who don’t know what they’re talking about, we can back up what we say. We’ve proven time and time again in videos that everyone else is wrong.
Please tell me again, how warriors are “teh bezzzt” healers in game and how everyone besides you needs to l2p. I found that a lot more enjoyable.
Condi warrior is quite good atm, can be lacking cc a little bit. I don’t play it because I always found dots boring in every MMO.
The trick with cleansing ire is to use LB and/or hammer bursts, which aren’t cancelled by blind or dodge. You should still know Nil, former Amok player. One of his warriors is hammer/lb afaik and doing very well.
There is a small gap between running away and kiting. For me, as soon as you are out of combat because you increased the distance, the fight is lost. As long as you stay in combat, circling around the opponent and waiting for cds or hp-reg, you are kiting.
/edit: Try playing a shatter mesmer against a perma-retal tank guardian or condi-warrior and you know what i’m talking about ^^
Well, Jathres already told you about CI and hammer. What you also should keep in mind is, that hammer plus longbow is a quite static build, great for teamfights /defends in spvp (actually afaik it is the only build that is played in high level tournaments atm) or zerging, but it serverly lacks mobility for wvw roaming (earthshaker 600 range plus bulls charge… but who uses bulls nowadays anyway?). I could swap hammer for greatsword, which would give me mobility and the ability to kite my enemy, but would leave me with little to no cc (besides longbow 5 and greatsword 4). As you can see, warriors can’t have it all, just like every other class. I see why the superior mobility is annoying though, just like it was on dd eles, which would run like there was no tomorrow before the rtl nerf.

The thing you are whining about are Perplexity Runes, not mesmers or engis which both are balanced if not underpowered atm.
And no, i don’t main a warrior and i’m too lazy to level/craft one especially when looking at ArenaNets anti-twink-attitude. But you can ask each and every warrior player out of BNF and they will tell you that currently there is basically no way a warrior will die if he doesn’t want to.
They don’t have protection, perma vigor, perma regeneration, perma stealth or kittentons of teleports.
They have the highest armor, hp, damage, mobility, healing and amount of cc. Please learn your class.
/edit: I forgot to add the amount of cleansing available via Cleansing Ire alone.
Mobility. Not dieing, because of running away does not mean you won the fight or something else. I know my class, don’t give me that kitten.
FYI: Cleansing Ire does kitten against blind spam. Or good players, who know how to dodge. Seriously. CI is only reliable with longbow.
Edit: Calling Mesmers and Engineers borderline UP does not add much to your credibility.

Boring week for FR – afk!
Try not to blob? But judging from the past, this seems just like the french way to have fun.
/edit: Not much goind on in this thread it seems…had a few fights that actually were quite good. Sadly, Retaliation hardcounters my build and there isn’t much i can do against healing signet atm (but that’s op anyway, everybody knows).
Sorry to break it for you, but WvW IS blobbing. Small scale is a niche and as far as I can see, it will always be this way (sadly).
Other than that, I am sick and tired of the constant whining about healing signet. I guess, you didn’t main a warrior since launch, so the feeling of “go PVT with zero damage output or have the sustain of a wet noodle” isn’t familar to you. Warriors got Healing Signet buffed because they were in URGENT need for at least some sustain without having 30 points in Tactics, which is only useful for zerging. They don’t have protection, perma vigor, perma regeneration, perma stealth or kittentons of teleports. If you REALLY want to shout “OP” at something rather than adapting your gameplay, please have a look at perplexity Mesmers / Engineers. Those are much more annoying.
Regards, a seriously annoyed Warrior.
So many people being THIS mad about warriors. As a warrior main since release I enjoy the crying. I agree with the skull crack to 100b combo being quite easy to use, but it is as easily countered. Next patch “fixes” sigil of paralyzation, more adjustments are not needed in my opinion. May I be biased? Hell yeah, I played the underdog for ~11 months and I really like being competitive now.
Greeting to the “death body dancing” camp flipping party from MS [NO]. no respect to you, hope you have a bad week.
lol’d at this. don’t you need to kill someone to dance on their bodies? how did [NO] manage to do this?
few good fights with even numbers for us, but funny week nonetheless.
Serious question: I hear much about mace / shield + sword / mace. I like the skills those weapons give, but why don’t we go with a control combination of mace / mace and a mobility / survival combination of sword / shield? I like mace / mace for style reasons and it went pretty well like this.
Thoughts? Enlighten me.
Well, that’s some good reasoning. Thought about Sigil of Paralyzation too, I just was used to s / sh from my other setups. Thanks for the link!

ITT: Zergers crying about zergs. Funny stuff.
I’ve been chasing crit rate recently on my warrior, and it has raised some interesting points.
I use all Knight’s gear, only exotic trinkets and a rare PVT backpiece.
I’ve seen my HB crit for over 16,000.
The precision rating on Knight’s is higher than on Berserker’s, so you crit more frequently. In group situations with the right utilities, my crit rate is almost always over 100%, and this is without precision enhancing runes. I do use a Superior Sigil of Perception on my rifle to optimise crit rate however.
The difference between Knight’s and Berserker’s top end damage isn’t massive, but with Knight’s you’re likely to crit more often with more survivability.
This is why I have little to no interest in buying a Berserker’s set of gear.
With the nerf to Quickness, I think I’m going to replace my melee weapon Rage sigils with +5% precision ones.
Actually, this is not correct. The precision rating on zerker armor is exactly the same as on knights, but zerker brings power main and additional crit dmg, which both make quite a difference (knights main attribute is toughness). I am replacing my knights armor with a set of zerker and a set of soldier armor atm, since the first is better for dps and the latter is better for my ehp. Played knights armor for 950+ hours.
Warrior is the class with the worst drawback when using quickness.
play thief then come back to me with that line. You still get hit while invis and all dodges from weapon skills and utilities have their evade time halved. It is very detrimental.
Endurance loss vs 50% damage.
Seriously? Theif has a better one than ANY of the other classes.
Actually I would prefer the Ranger version of quickness. As silentnight said, you don’t use it to heal. So pop it, dps, dodge away and heal / pop immunity. Since Quickness got nerfed by 50%, I don’t think the risk / reward is worth it any longer. So I removed it from my build. 5 seconds of +50% damage taken are too much in WvW (especially since EP only lasts 4 sec).
I didn’t feel quickness was OP on anything but TW, but hell, what do I know.
Because if i lose against a player who is using a class you consider bad i must clearly be a bad player. Well, maybe i am, but maybe he was just better than me and knew how to play against my build?
I shred warriors to pieces, wether I am on my own warrior and kill them with experience
I knew it! Warrior must be a bad class because it’s losing against other warriors!
I don’t consider the warrior a bad class, but in terms of dueling he is clearly inferior to the guardian.
Partial quoting is always bad as it leads to wrong assumptions. Do you have a max level warrior? I do, it is my beloved main with more than 900h of gameplay. I also have a max level guardian with healway build (the same build you use, iirc), so I know what this class is capable of. I mostly use my warrior as stunbot / speedbot nowadays, when noone in our party can provide perma swiftness. For anything else, I switch to my guardian for better performance. Seriously, losing a 1on1 against a warrior is quite hard for a properly played guardian.
But we are derailing this thread. Boon punishment build. Yay.
I can understand that… sometimes feel it even when running 15-20 guys and always getting zerged by the entire zone… but atleast we have more of a chance to fight back than you guys do so its not as bad we have slim chance where you have 0.001%
Besides REQ & TDA not really sure of many small scale guilds anymore which is a shame. Amok/Baka maybe, a handful of guilds spread across tiers/servers… the rest are not either that active or memorable enough… I only do small scale late, so maybe there are some guilds ive missed out i dont see true strength of.
Its a shame not more on the small scale scene, the other small scale guilds encounter same issues as you and probally give up as they will think whats the point everyone zerging and with lack of GVG available in game, and your role kinda being destroyed by ANET nerfing supply camp buffed lords.
I can recall plenty of times when twice our number wont engage us, which is dissapointing, and i can recall even more times when we will engage over twice our number… have a similar attitude in regards to looking for fights just on a different scale, some people are too affraid of dying instead of participating in a good fight. Good fights is what the game is all about imo win or lose.
Maybe certain guild tags, or just having the same guild tag invokes fear amongst enemy… which is shame, its so tempting to swap our guild tags to see how the enemy approaches us differently… having guild tags is very double edged at times.
I dont consider REQ to be that well known tbh that ppl run if they see the tag. Actually most ppl just walk away when they see somebody charging them without retreat. no matter the numbers. Run to gate, get safe and fight with aoe blind, bolas and cannon from keep :-).
I am not stopping smallscale, even when I am alone. I played 4,5 years of bughammer, come at me GW2! :-P
But many other ppl just will leave, even in REQ.
As Lonny said. We already lack 2 of our strongest regular 5. Thats 40%. I dont say there arent players good enough out there. But find sb good, willing to smallscale and overall then be lucky and get him to fit in the group.afterall, we are a bunch of flamers and trolls and need the guild to get our back for that very often. The servercommunity sure wont.
You earned my sympathy Wamgor, cheers!
I can agree with Zumy here, sympathy points raised. Feels good to be recognised, even though we only can bring 3-5 people max. since a few weeks. As you said, with these numbers the most groups going around these days feel a little overwhelmimg. We still have fun to see how long we can fight 3 vs. 10. Wins are rare, but they happen.
AMOK salutes you and TUP.
Good thread. /needsmorecharr
More damage is better. Nobody is scared of the warrior anymore.
This. I shred warriors to pieces, wether I am on my own warrior and kill them with experience or on my guardian simply because the class is superior in 1on1 combat.
And lavra, calling troll on me won’t solve your l2play issues. Just saying.
What class are you playing? I’ve lost against players of all classes so far because they were simply better than me. Just don’t expect to rush into a guardian and hit him until he collapses. That won’t do it. We are made entirely for frontline fighting without an actual option to go ranged.
Wait, you lost against a warrior on your guardian, at the current state of the game? We are not talking about beta, are we? I am not saying, warriors are bad or have no place, but head to head with a guardian…
Well often you kill 35 ppl just walking in fluidly bit by bit.
It is also known, that when u fight on a team you often are not aware of the other two 5 man groups that joined the fight on different edges of the zerg. Culling FTW :-).Also there is nothing easier then killing big numbers that are surrounded by your friendly guards or even a buffed camplord :-).
Blind,blind, root, blind, 10k crit, blind, root, blind, blind, 10k crit… :-D.
While I agree, that’s not exactly what I would call “wiping 35 people with 6”. ^^
Just to show that I have enough experience in WvW, yesterday we wiped 35 people with 6 so running isnt even nessecary.
Just to show that I have enough experience with people talking on the internet, I demand video proof of this. Then I will bow before your WvW greatness. Else, I have nothing but your word. And you have my word, that AMOK deafeated whole servers all by ourselves!
Have a nice day.
P.S.: This does not apply to you, but some others on this thread. It is either wiped oder whipped (kinky version). Please apply.
To the 3 man group of [TCHU] (i think it was): Well played, very tough enemies. Your guardian is a kitten beast! Was fun fighting against you.
This goes for the 2 [SLO] thieves too! You have crazy burst.
Was a nice week.
Logged on SWToR after 15. Nov. because I was mad (ascended stuff you know?). Went NOPE after the first three steps into the tutorial.
I will keep an eye on TESO and Camelot Unchained though. But only if they come with reasonable leveling. God I hate leveling…
Bump. Was wondering the same.
You crazy thread necro. :P
fyi: last time I checked, I think it worked together. Was some time ago, though.
My only character, that made it to lvl 80 (actually it’s the only with a lvl > 40) is my warrior. I absolutely love the class, the weapon options, the trait synergies and the skills. Ecerything I do on my warrior feels honest and brutal. No cheap stuff, just raw force and skills.
Now do I think he is viable? In PvE warriors simply are the god class. Our healthpool, while meaning little in PvP, gives us enough survivability to go 100% damage, shredding mobs to pieces like noone else. Pair us with a good support guardian and you have a godlike team.
In WvW we are okay. Not as useful as Mesmers and Guardians with their battle changing skills and not as good for roaming as Thieves and DD Eles, with their unmatches escapability. We bring good damage and control if we build for it. Buff some stuff a little bit (like Mobile Strikes removig cripple/chill or Endure Pain ignoring condi damage as well) and we are on par.
sPvP I can’t comment much, because I don’t play much. I felt pretty lackluster, so it wasn’t much fun.
Hoping ANet reads this.
I fully agree, that Mobile Strikes need to remove cripple and chill as well. It is a good trait, but it could use a minor buff, so our gapclosers and “escapes” (lol) are actually worth it.
Ascended gear is anti alt? Good thing you have a choice to not grind for BiS gear on every character. I could understand if you have the desire to do high level fotm with all 8 professions, but somehow I think you don’t have that goal.
The desire to wear best in slot gear is entirely generated by the player’s psyche, because exotics are perfectly able to get you through everything except lvl15-20+ fotm. You think you need to be geared up in prestige gear and have 15% more gold find on all characters? I’m afraid you’ll have to put some work into it. Unlike GW1, in GW2 max stat gear in PvE is a privilege, not a right. Okay, that analogy was kinda bad, but the bottom line is its not essential to deck out your characters in ascended until you are a dedicated fotm runner.
Keep your max stat privilege out of WvW and I’d have no problem with it.
It’s like you read my mind… but sadly this isn’t going to happen…
Your skill might overcome the class restrictions, as mine does.
However, our utility is lacking. There are way better choices.
HB is useless (in pvp) 99% of the time in comparison to some other things in the game regardless of how much damage it theoretically can cause. It needs no nerf, and other classes use it to justify the status quo.
If they nerfed HB and buffed our other stuff to be on par with the other classes, those thieves/eles/guards would cower in a corner, hoping we won’t notice them. ^^ So feel free to take away HB and buff my hammer.
No status quo any longer.
Warrior needs:
- Brawn un-nerfed. 5/10/15 or 3/6/9.
YES
- AoE rupt when downed.
YES
- Fixed gap closers.
Partly agreed, some times they are quite buggy, especially on the z-axis
- Fixed adren skills to be worth using.
Partly agreed, Earthshaker, Flurry and Eviscerate are nice.
- Fixed Endure Pain tooltip and duration.
Works right for me, if EP runs out, cd is on 85s.
We have some issues, but are far from worthless. On top of that, we are the bad kitten class.
If you want to use one armor set for wvw and pve follow these steps:
1. get knights armor
2. accquire soldier and zerker trinkets and weapons
3. swap out weapons and trinkets according to the situations needs
4. ???
5. profit!
well, where to start?
first: i wasted 17 gold to get the runes of lyssa, then it dawned on me, that the boons only last 5 seconds. how great!
i totally fail to see, how your empowered knight build gives you permanent uptime on SoR. also, you talk about the damage bonus of stick and move, which is not in your build. i ran 20/20/0/10/20 for the last few days, going fractals and trolling people in wvw with superior burst (oh poor little asura who ate my 10k eviscerate). i don’t think rune of lyssa is worth it to be honest. stacking boon duration for perma SoR is worth it, I am running this since stefanplc brougth up his hammer wvw build (best warrior build ever imho).
without the intention of attacking you personally, maybe you should do some more testing and research before you post builds and “guides” on the forums.
p.s. your armor looks cool though. ^^
I haven’t noticed the Hammer knockdown failing. It always seems to work for me.
I usually use in in WvW when someone tries to finish me off. Sadly, if they try to finish me right away, I have to pop the hammer throw right away, and I try to use Vengeance only to be stomped a split second before Vengeance’s casting completes!
And that’s why our downed state needs a buff…
As a dedicated hammer warrior, that would be possibly the worst thing that could happen to me. :/
But I shall see, since I don’t get this whole “nerf AoE” at all. oO I still have axe/mace if it’s too bad…
After the last patch, which removed the selfroot from the offhand mace skill “Tremor” I thought about the hammer’s #3 and #4 skill. They both have a selfroot attached to them, which makes it very awkward to use.
I think it would be a nice buff for the hammer (without increasing any damage) if the selfroot was removed.
