Stronkhold Beta Gameplay – http://goo.gl/IMb8qb
So sad that anet has such potential with pvp but can’t seem to figure out how to monetize it so they don’t care. Has some of the best gameplay but worst implementation.
Yepp, seeing Teldo play his oldschool bomb/flamethrower/Elexir R with Pistol/Shield has put a smile on my face. ^^’.
Does Teldo play eu or na or both?
Tibs. I feel for you man. You worked hard for it. And it is work.
I wonder why I even log in at all….

Do these traits that automatically stealth miss or never get used if you have debuff or will it wait for debuff to go away then proc?
I believe its the former but am not sure.
If this really is an account-based issue, the quickest way to fix this is for people to submit CS tickets. We can then use someone’s account to as a guinea pig to track down the problem.
Use mine I don’t care. Ill open a ticket.
Sarcasm. This right here is another reason VOIP would be great. You can’t always tell in chat if someone is giving an honest criticism or being a jerk. And most of the time advice is taken as being mean. So thus it can be even harder without voice chat to give constructive feedback sometimes.
(edited by tronjeremy.5820)
It would help if we can figure out what is in common between everyone since no machines in-house reproduce this issue.
What arena are you playing in?
What map is it on?
What state is the game in? (Warmup, playing, postgame)
This has been happening since the last big patch. Happens in every match/map I play. Happens at any point before during and after match. It’s very annoying. It’s a good second or so of lag/freeze while it pops.
I tried adjusting graphics and nothing helps.
I move the camera so much that I find it super easy to just get the camera 180 tap the back button then hit withdraw and then 180 the camera back in the direction you were going.
Sad. But not surprised due to current status of pvp.
Is anything being done to reduce the que time? And the longer the que the more likely that someone will drop.
VOIP would be the worst addition to the game. Anyone who actually wants to use voice chat already does.
“worst addition”? WTH. Its communication with an easy mute option. So many over dramatic newbs.
Yeah, you pretty much confirmed what everyone has been saying that it would be an additional channel to rage/grief/harrass/insult
Or I demonstrated those who cannot take criticism. I’m definitely feeling for anet now. It’s like choosing a parenting model. Either isolate and put everyone in a safe bubble and coddle them or let them grow some thick skin.

I like courtyard. There just needs to be more controls for arenas and incentive to join arenas over ranked. If that happens I would probably play courtyard alot more. Great for 2v2-4v4 etc.
your name is Brian, you are 15 and live in London. you bought guild wars 2 one month ago and have been really enjoying your necromancer in pve. you like the well of blood and the signets. stealing health is really cool, you’re like a dark vampire. on a whim you give pvp a try. you try and assemble a similar build to what you were using in pve and que up for unranked. you are verbally bullied by more experienced players in the first match (gw2 has such kittene match making that it does put the rabbit in with the sharks). even after muting them they still insult you in chat. the rest of your next few games are similar, causing you to never come back to pvp again.
So I guess this doesn’t happen already? Just without VOIP? It’s easy to make a story and tailor it to your theory but ultimately communication is key to any competitive sport or game period. Muting or blocking is always an option and this solves any horror story I hear about every couple posts from a super negative/#glasshalfempty/sensitive person. I would say Brian becomes familiar with certain peoples voices who que up with him regularly and they get into a flow/rhythm and decided to be friends and form a team. Eventually they go on to win WTS and they thank it all to VOIP. See stories are easy to make up.
Can we please hear from a dev as to why this wont ever be implemented and how it would be a nightmare to code? I want to hear something. It will probably never come to be, but VOIP would be huge for the pvp scene.
This method is de-incentivising queing up. Let us get in hotjoins and arenas or give us better stuff to do in mists.
I tried changing different display settings. I thought maybe it was windowed/full screen but nope. It is really aggravating. I’ve seen it in the past and it always went away.
This is such a pain. I get it every time scoreboard comes up. I know when the game is over because the game freezes for a split second before score is shown also. I feel like I changed some visual settings and it began happening after that.
You’re welcome…… :P

I agree. If you can boon strip and get your endurance removed or hindered then this is dumb.
Yes +1 for in game voip.
Everyone who is against it has no solid reasons. Communication is the foundation of any competitive game/sport.
HotS not even the same type of thing….
I like the idea of incentivizing hitting the reward button.
Maybe team gets 10 seconds of swiftness on start if they all ready up?
And reward track points.
I did the majority of theorycraftings in Cheese Mode, I also trained Orange Logo to win the previous WTS. I know exactly what it takes to win and how to get a succesful team going, just need people to make it happen with.
Where is your team now and why are you looking for new members to either recruit or merge into? What rules made you leave EU?
< is looking for a team or to fill out his team. Hit me up.
Please make the post mention tourneys first then llamas. A Majority of the pvpers don’t care for llamas and want to know more about the tourneys themselves.
- Engineer turrets will be able to be critically hit. (Edit for clarity: this change means the turrets can take critical hits against them, but they still cannot deal critical hits themselves.)
- Engineer turrets will be able to be affected by conditions.
Crits and Condis! Wowowow. This is a game changer! Going to see a lot of homeless engies in the mists!

I don’t want to listen to 12 year olds screaming
For people like you I have simple answer (even tho Anet will most likely never implement any VOIP, but I like PvP so I keep hoping
). It can be easily avoided – just make it so people have to turn it on in options and default setting is off. You won’t hear anyone if you do not want to. Plus.. mute is in every voice chat.
But what people do not get is that it makes PvP more interesting. First you get to know people a bit more, from good and bad side and also both teams can communicate, so more cooperation etc. I wonder how many people who don’t want VOIP are really PvPers and how many are occasional pvpers.
Yes.
We absolutely want to make build templates. They could work similar to GW1, but there are more components to a build now. Using the old string-code method may prove to be unwieldy.
Things that must be in a template:
- Weapons
- Sigils
- Rune
- Amulet
- Skills
- Traits
What could be in a template:
- Skins
- Dyes
- Outfit
- Finisher
Things to consider:
- Sharing (chat links? codes? urls?)
- Viewing (seeing some else’s vs. seeing your own)
- Saving (notepad vs. local vs. account vs. web)
- Building (one spot in UI vs. multiple spots)
- Websites (third-party sites should work with in-game)
- APIs (Could expose an API to third-parties)
- PvP vs PvE vs WvW (each mode requires different configuration options)
How would you like to see any/all of these work?
Yes.
… turret engineer is something we’re looking into very closely right now. Once our plans are a bit more concrete I’ll give an update.
Have a good weekend,
Grouch
OP has a name!
Thanks for chiming in though!

So many downers out there. Especially for something that can be easily turned off/muted. I’m absolutely surprised why anyone would be against it. It’s much harder to tap into new friendships and make new bonds in pvp especially if each account can have multiple names. A voice is recognizable. You are also missing out on using one of your most valuable senses for communication in a competitive game mode. Bottom line again and again is VoIP’s benefits will heavily outweigh the negative and I have yet to hear a real solid counter point.
I don’t think this topic should go away. Especially as a new game mode will come out next expansion. Blu posted this to reddit if anyone wants to chime in there too.
A full defensive strategy actually works really well. Makes for long boring games but it does work. If you kill npcs and take heroes without even going for one gate you get a ton of points and can stop the opposing team from doing anything but giving you points when they die.
Nice. Mad props for asking people to donate to charity. I don’t think I’ve seen that in a video by a GW2 player or Arenanet.
Thanks! Yeah I figure if I have peoples attention anyway might as well direct it to some good causes. Also I work on helping to solve water issues outside of the game.
I made a few tweaks to my S/D Condi build to prolong bleed duration which helps against NPCs.
Check the video here.

Happy birthday Marvin! Mah friend!
One of the few people that I remember from way back when.

I believe the games are too short and lastly there should maybe be a speed buff or something added to the dynamic to make the game go faster and faster as you either break doors down or time is beginning to run low. This way there is still a way to win in the final moments or you get more of a sense of urgency.
My 2cents.
Not sure how much you’ve done king of the hill but their are builds out there that just have hella sustain so you just have to find a balance of rules to keep game matches moving. So again its not a matter of can it be beaten it’s so that people don’t have to wait forever for a match that takes ages. No one wants that.
Nah critical hits I don’t think is a good idea. I like the idea of burning though since not everyone can apply that. I do believe out rotating is the way to go if they have 1 turret. It’s pretty OP I have to say if entire team needs to either build for it or rotate specifically for it. Just my 2 cents.
Lmfao really tron? Banning EB and Off-Hand on a ranger is like tellig a warrior to but run cleansing ire or a engi to not run incidiary powder. Instead of banning the trait line why not just ban the certain trait people qq about (Bark Skin). C’mon now bud I know your more reasonable then this!
Dag chill yo. I just took base rules from Fox as a foundation. The idea is to just keep matches moving quickly more or less. We are going to work on the rules. Please suggest a full set of ranger rules that sound balanced for 1v1.
I mean I mostly think this would be great against turrets as one added thing to balance them out.
I was talking with some peeps about turrets and objects in general (doors/gates) and I thought about the idea of them taking burning damage. Most real life objects would definitely be affected by fire/burning so I thought it might make sense and change up the game play. What do you all think?
(edited by tronjeremy.5820)
However I then checked your rules and it’s almost the same thing as the other room from what I remember :x
Madisonlee thanks for the feedback this is exactly what we need to hear. We will take these notes into consideration. Honestly I do not know all the classes as well as I should for having played the game since beta. We took alot of the existing rules to use as a foundation. We will look into tweaking/removing some of these over reaching rules.
Thanks.
Since I was banned by Fox from his KotH room for running my condi build he can’t beat, I decided to approach Academy Gaming to create a new room that won’t be run like a dictatorship. I’ll help run it and try and listen to the feedback to keep rules balanced & duels moving at a good pace .
King of the Hill is simple and fun especially if you want to try something new and show off to an audience. Only 2 people are allowed to duel at a time and on death the loser leaves so another can try and defeat the winner.
Room Name [1v1][AG] King of the Hill
Rules http://academygamingnet.com/koth/
I also want to see if the community is interested in a weekly class based 1v1 tournament. What do you guys think?
#escports
They asked to trash it 2 days after it went to test mode and it seemed people rallied to downvote it. I don’t much care. People asked me about the build so I thought I would share. I’m not gonna fight for it. I’m just going to keep using it in game.
If you have the link it’s still available it just wont be seen from the main page.

10/0/0/30/30 worked best for me, however running venoms gave much more pressure in team fights so testing some other Condi s/d builds now…
Only thing tho is that improv trait is so OP when you get double caltrops on a point.
