Okay I know that this is not a meta build.
I like to do fractals and world events and Dungeons but i feel that the glasscannon thing is not for me, i spend more time trying to survive than do damage.
Is this build viable ?

Stating such a thing is in no use (certainly if you do it in different topics).
The game is designed in directx9, so probably they have to stick with it unless they make a new engine for GW3, if they change it now a lot of people will be complaining.
Seeing what they achieve with this engine i would say nice done.
Now most of the problems are not game related, i can’t say any about amd as i never used it. But what i can say is that on most, even old systems, you can achieve an acceptable framerate compared to other games.
If you can’t, most of the time it is hardware, bad drivers, wrong settings, bad connection, overheating, etc..
As for op nice name, but as slang abbreviation i would pick another one unless y trolling. “wb” “fy” “tw”?

edit: just for Wolf, and if you care, read my previous posts, i helped several. So again stating what you do, doesn’t help op. (But then again op was also complaining 2 years ago with his old system.)
Same topics come again and again, solutions are offered, some people do their best to help other’s but they have to say the same thing again and at the end they give up.

Gw2 is not the only game were people have issues, compared to the amount of post here i think they do a good job. If you have a problem which can’t be solved in forum contact them, they will be happy to help you.

Yes indeed I asked this question several times because i loved guild wars 2
and i want to love it again but 24-30 fps wont cut it my system runs Witcher 3 on ultra with 35 and kitten (some times 60+) on high.. And i keep asking because non of the solutions work.

Hey guys i today downloaded GW2 (decided to try it again before I buy HOT) and the performance was horrific… Even on low to med settings
Current spec:
Amd athlon X4 845 (3.5ghz goes up to 3.8)
EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+
4 gigs of ram
MB: FM2A68M-DG3+
kingston SSD drive (ware the game is located)
win 10 64bit

Am not sure whats the issue here…
Not to mention that a year ago i was running this Spec and it ran on med around 40 in LA and 30 in WWW and 60 in smaller zones and Fractals
intel pentium G620 2.6 ghz 2cores
ati radeon 7770 hd 1gb
4gigs of ram
win 7

Am a veteran gw2 player I started playing after the beta and quit when f2p was introduced (I simply want a Pay to Play game) but Ive got some free time on my hands and I wanna give GW2 a chance to win my heart again.

So… I have a few questions:
1 How is the continuity ? Is it still mature or not?
2 The economy ? The inflation ? Gold sellers?
3 Content? Is it challenging ? Is there enough ?
4 Guild Halls?
5 Performance? Last I remember it was rolling down a hill with a few improvements form time to time.
6 Is it grindy ?
7 The most important one.. IS IT FUN ?!
I remember 500 people + doing 3head worm hundreds of people in guild wars 2 community TS severs Commanders. Rewarding exploration Brain jamming Puzzles.
Difficult World bosses were failure was a thing. When communication matters. Etc

Well its been one hell of a ride for me in GW2 but I`ll get of here.
I played a Pay to Play game for a reason, am going back to WoW.

EE is looking for active skilled players to join the guild.
EE is a brand new guild focused on PvE.
Mainly for high level fractals Dungeons world evens and profit.

What I mean by brand new is exactly what it sounds.
The reason I created this guild is to make it easier for skilled and dedicated players to find groups for everything PvE related thus making it a hardcore guild.

The requirements to join are:
age +18
play time min 4 days a week for an hour or two.
Metagear.

The guild is recruiting every class.

First thing first thiefs are the only class in the game that cant use a dual wep (short bow is a range wep). Why not try to implement it in to the game ? I mean eles and d/d Guardians and staffs. This is all outside the box. Most mmos make Mages ranged only wars only guards support ony etc. So form this point of view GS and Thief aren’t uncombineable sure it wont be easy figuring out the skills implementing them in to the traits, but come on wont it be sweet ?

I have a thief on which i play allot and i use a shortbow and i found something strange when i use the 5th skill (Infiltrator’s Arrow) it takes half a second for me to tele to the selected location. On my mesmer however when i use blink it happens momentarily.
Is this made on purpose or not ?

The game performance has improved quite a bit, contrary to what SolarNova has said. It used to run at 10-15 fps on my laptop and now it runs at 30+ on medium settings.

You should be able to run the game just fine on a mix low and medium if you set the number of visible player models to low.

If you do want to play it, give these settings a try. They work just fine on my laptop with an integrated GPU to give 30 fps:

I haven’t played GW2 since the summer 2013 and stopped due to poor performance lag and bad optimization. I was wondering has the game performance bein improved or not

hello i havent played GW2 since the end of the summer and i wonder did anet optimize the game atleast a little bit when i played it it was horrible i mean wvw the scarlet minions, the dragon etc. i didnt have lag but i had HUGE and i mean HUGE fps drops to the point of the game freezing and playing in screenshot mode. if they did can you give an exsamle like before and after ?

True the lag is unbelievable bad. I tryed to do guild missions but the lag on rush and bounty was just unbearable is some what around slide show and a blue ray move on a terrible CPU. There must be a solution for this, i know people that have stopped playing because of the lag. If this is impossible to fix make guild wars 3 with better optimization and a better engine. ill gladly play 60bucks

The Forum, Reddit, guru, minor internet gaming forums, Guild chat…. they are all screaming one thing FPS issues. like: how do i fix it ?, But i cover the minimum system requirements, etc.

And every one gets the same response get a better CPU, the game is CPU dependent and then every one with minor to none experience in hardware start to dish out out opinions. Then they (am one of them) charge to Google and start “gw2 fps fix” “gw2 lag spike” etc and end up with a one simple answer: bottleneck.

Guild Wars 2 stands out with its dynamic events mass WvW and other things that require a lot of players to participate in it to make it happen but watching it in a speed slide show isn’t fun. True i don’t know anything about he games engine so i cant say thakittens a 5min job and i guess its not but keeping us in the dark is just unfair. In my opinion Anet should make a statement ether on the forms or PAX and say/type some thing like this “Yes we know about the FPS issues and we will look in to them expert a fix next year” or “Yes we know about he fps issues bit we wont do any thing about it so don’t expect anything.”

When i do dungs or PvX in general i dont have any performance issues but the moment i step in to WvW or ClockWork. The Fps drops to 17. on low and med
yes i know that GW2 is mainly CPU dependent (i ran a test and when i enter WvW and there is a 50v50 zerg the game uses 100/95% of my cpu and only 50% of my GPU with is strange). Any tips ?

I want to go for the title but i want to follow a guide gw2crafts.com but i screwed up all of them i got only 2 to 400 because i didn’t touch them and the others are on 123 others on 65 etc. can i cap all the professions on an alt and use the title on my main ? or is there a way to reset profession ?

Hello i have a problem with low Fps as well.

My rig isnt high end but its perfect for med settings.
when i do dungs or just open world stuff my fps is 40-45
when i go to LA 26-32 and WvW or Guild Missions i get 12-19 its unplayable.
I love guild wars to but the low fps is just killing me.

I use game booster, I use the nvidia settings the devs recommended. (its piwnd)
and still low it does not matter what settings i use med or low or super low still same fps.

Im thinking that am not the only one with this issue. I believe that it must be a priority for anet to fix it. I am willing to pay a fee to aid that optimization patch and i guess am not the only one. (imagine if 30% of the player base payed 5$ for a patch)

Correct me if am wrong but most games are GPU>CPU and guild wars is the other way around. so yeah..

Hello i have a few questions.

First am i huge fan of PvP but not the sPvP that guild wars has I like arenas like 2v2 3v3 5v5. with hardcore gear (awesome looking) rating like if you are low rating you get qued with people with your kind of rating and the higher you go the better players you face.
does GW2 have that ?

Okay before you start skipping through the lines keep in mind that i wanted to wanted to make a point please read it all

1 Account security

As we know there are allot of people who want to get their hands on a GW2 copy for free they can try to mask a keylogger as a hack, addon guide, etc but most people don’t fall for them but some do… And its a pain in the foot to deal with them and in most cases they get nothing, sadly its the truth.

I was thinking last night about that app for security, you know that thing that you download on your phone and every time you log in you have to enter a code ? Well that one. Now, the thing i wanted to say is that by adding a time barrier on the pass change you grant a 24h window of opportunity to catch an intruder who somehow got a players pass and intended to lock him out. And by making a person who wants to change his/hers password needs to send a SMS or get a App code to be able to do that.

The second thing is adding the same 24h time block on character deletion. Why ? Well its easy allot of “trolls” want to scr*w people over by deleting their characters with is really unpleasant and am 100% sure that ones the character is deleted thats it. And sometimes some gamers most likely 10-12year olds tend to “rage out” and do stupid things, like smashing keybords, monitors or by deleting characters and ones deleted…
you are out form the picture. So by adding a “24h time to complete” allot of "acts of stupidity " can be avoided.

2 Character clipping

This may be only me but i highly doubt therefore that am the only one. Today I made a new character (female) with long hair, REALLY long and the second I pressed “w” i got shocked. The hair when thru the characters body.. I mean come on that can not be ignored its not a small bug its really annoying. So my guess on that is simple. make a character specific hair animation that does not clip into the character. Am not a graphic modulator so i don’t know if thats a easy task but my bet is that it is possible.
