So i was watching some ninja movies, and thief need to be-able to wield a 2h sword xD

this make me lol, just today this thief spammed 3 heartseekrs, i saw it coming a mile away so i just stand thier and say 2 2 2 go go go, ofc i took some decent dmg but not enough to kill me i usually rock about 2.9k armor. I know this duudes outta init, so hes gonna go run away once i CnD. Because all noob thiefs think all thiefs run a back-stab thief. GG

Going to be pretty short on this, as I’m trying to my hardest not to let my anger govern this post. However anger is what finally pushed me to make my first post about a real issue.

I don’t play spvp, so I don’t know if this is an issue there, but in WvW perma-stealth thieves are pretty much beyond ridiculous and into the absurdity level. Two of my friends have quit playing this game entirely because of thieves, mesmers.. thieves, mesmers… repeat. I told them that mesmers are simply a learning situation, but thieves? No buddy. Who ever designed thieves were just one of those spoiled kids that would cry if they didn’t get whatever they want. so enough with the ramble, I said i’d be short.

Thieves IMO are completely busted in WvW because of how intangible they are to catch. But guess what? it’s not because of their stealth. let them be invisible all day, I don’t care.

Shadow step is the problem. Cut the range of that move in half. I have faced off against actual speed hackers before, and let me tell you, I always have to pay real close attention to whether it’s a real speed hacker or a shadows stepping thief.
I’d like to see what you guys think though. Surely I don’t know everything.

SO pain response is suppose to regen at 75% health and remove poisioned? NO?

well tested it out in PVP, and it doesnt remove, was all the way down to 50% health before i was like wth, why is this still on me… posion still stacked on me from a necro. well below 75% health.

Did you EVER tested it out?!
I used shortbow on testing , but the dmg is still the same with/orwithout wielding a bundle .. which means stolen skill ; or?! And also the Chance to recharge 1 of 5 is so chaotic while mesma have a trait by recharging their shatter skills …..Confusing description anyway

its a kitten skill the recharge is like 20% if that. i tried it on all utility skillz had, venom,signet,deception equipd went to steal, and i think the deception reset.

ohh ok. obviously you arnt built right, everytime i encounter a warrior 8/10 times

they are either running away or have uber regen and its a stalemate.

So I’m trying to L2P. Tell me how this works because I melt every time a warrior touches me. I’m running D/P 0/30/30/10/0. When they get low Endure + run the fk away, as well as immob usually pwning my face. Also, mesmers suck

Well i dont recommend running 0/30/30/10 if your using SoM and d/p.. d/p doesnt have ANY conditions which comes into play when your using SoM.

I am by far not an awesome thief, but i have tested numerous builds, and i know what works for me. Maybe i can send you in the right directiong. Im not the type of thief to be in stealth much. I like to gun it out head on, only stealth i really get is from blinding powder and CnD (cnd-which i rarely use).

Im currently testing with a full blind build atm.

So ive spent the last 2 days trying to figure out new builds, one that i can keep aR w/ SoM.

think i found one:

going to try out 10 in trickery for caltrops on dodge, see what kinda health regen i get.

Any other thief’s testing new builds with SoM, and AR feed back would be appreciated.

bare in mind thos 2 pple listed above are great players. I wouldnt reccomend running a low hp pool, if you new to theif. Then youll just hate it. LOL

I remember when I use to use this skill, I was engaged with a 2v1 + the guards in front of a tower in WvW. and had “Hard To Understand” Traited, and next thing i know I was under the bridge in the water, by the time i got back up to the fight there was already a zerg, so i get stuned again and smack dap right in the middle of 10+ pple. I was like wat teh heck, what game am i playing?

“Teleport Into Zerg +2 Second Stun + Stomp = Downed Thief” Will suffice also.

So I was sad about the nerf. So I spent about 18+ hours trying to figure out a new build. And its quite a troll build, or so you might think.

SB: AR+SoM.
*The warrior and mesmer thought to themselves
“ohh its just some noob poison and bleed dmg, that Shortbow is weak lets go get this squishy its 2vs1”

THIEF: “lawlz , ill just keep conditioning them, and spaming disableing shot”
"omg, they are closing in but thier health is only about about 55-65%

Warrior/Mesmer: “We got him now hes soo dead, this squishy thief”… umm how come were not doing any dmg to him, hes not squishy.

THIEF: “Time for the d/d!”
“CnD all 3 mesmers, BS warrior in the face, autto attk um both”

WARRIOR/MESMER: “Duude dodge roll he is pwning us, why is our dmg so noob on a squishy thief?”

THIEF:“cute dodge roll, good job on wasting it, guess ill just HS, DB your faces off”
“does a lil dance on top of dead bodies with my squishy 3k armor thief… LOL”

izi answer. just kite away the IA on the mesmrs are pretty dumb, usually they will just stop and stand still if u go far enough.

but just look for the noob that is dodging, even better yet just cloak and dagger all the clones.

ar is great, but it sure in the heck isnt a grand master trait. ive tried tons and tons of builds just to try and keep this trait. still testing i think i found one…

been playing mulitple classes lately, and thief is just meh… thief gets 1% vul. I hoped on my warrior and he gets 10% vul. lmfao

all you need to do now is move MUG to grand master tier, and good game.

still testing new builds since they moved my aR. and s.step shadowsteps me into a zerg and imobilizes me.

I roll a thief as my main.

But got interested so jumped on my guardian and mesmer.

Its not that we got totally nerfed. just a nerf or two. The thing is the other classes just got buffed way buffed.

if your that backstab thief that is taking half his health with 1 backstab its quit funny to run w/ a tanky thief that is just auto attking, w/ SoM. Its quite humerous actually xD

I “rolled” – SoM / AR / Healing Power Thief. Seems like trash atm though?
I dont like to hide in stealth Like alot of thiefs. I like to duke it out focusing on my attks healing me.

guess ill just use my SB only, put on my swifness signet and just choke gas you and run away….
