The gold ‘guild member’ dot is an issue though. If you are in party, Why shouldn’t they all be blue dots still? You already know who is in your guild, having some party members in blue and some in gold because they are repping same guild, is just plain odd.

The dot at the edge of the minimap has been buggy at times for longer than we’ve had this gold color for guild members.

Edit: Why is this feature needed? Why should party members show as different colored dots?

Party members should not show in gold, they should always show in blue. Guild members that are not in your party should show in gold. The fact that this is working otherwise currently is a bug.

This feature, when working properly, allows you to see your guild members on the world map without the need to be in a party with them.

As we continue screaming toward launch, I’ll update this thread with the goings-on for Daredevil. Here’s a few things we’re testing now:

  • Reduced channel time of Channeled Vigor from 2.25 to 0.75
  • Vault: Fixed an issue that caused it to not travel its full distance.
  • Fist Flurry: Reduced cast time by 20%. note: The final strike occurs just prior to 1 second.
  • Evasive Empowerment: This trait has been renamed to Havoc Master and grants the player 7% bonus damage to enemies within the 360 range threshold.
  • Impaling Lotus: Increased bleeding duration from 8 to 10 seconds.
  • Bounding Dodger: In addition to granting access to the Bound dodge ability, the thief will gain 10% bonus physical damage for 4 seconds after dodging.
  • Lotus Training: In addition to granting access to the Impaling Lotus dodge ability, the thief will gain 10% bonus condition damage for 4 seconds after dodging.
  • Unhindered combatant: In addition to granting the Dash dodge ability, the thief will gain 10% damage reduction against physical and condition damage.

We like the interaction that Evasive Empowerment had with your endurance bar and wanted to carry it further, but didn’t feel like it could have the desired impact in the adept tier. Thus, each of the grandmaster traits have their own version, geared toward their specific style of play.
Havoc Master has taken its place, as we felt that the line could use a more guaranteed damage increase. For trait mods, we’d like to experiment with Weakening Strikes slightly, adding a secondary to it within its role of debilitation. Options we’re looking at it:

  • Inflict X (torment, bleeding, something) when you weaken a foe.
    or
  • Receive less damage from weakened foes.

Hi Tongku,

Magic Find affects specific chests in PvP that are labeled like mobs you would kill in PvE land. For instance, the “Bird Loot Box” simulates killing birds in PvE but well a box. :P

So if you were in PvE and you looted said bird your magic find would affect that reward. As such opening the “Bird Loot Box” with high magic find will give you better loot depending on your magic find.

I’ll say I’ve always liked soft timers best. 500% is probably a bit much to call it a soft timer, but hey at least it’s not one of the “and you’re dead” type enrages.

I actually just reduced this to give you a little wiggle room to (as my raid says) kittenroach the boss down if he’s low enough.

There’ll be more supportive damage for Celestial Avatar by launch… possibly from trait modifications or from skill changes.

An issue which should not be decoupled here is that Celestial Avatar felt gated behind staff use (and troll unguent), which left a ranger with one damage-focused weapon option and one support weapon. I’m making some changes to astral force rate gain to try to address this. Ideally it should be possible to build up your astral force without -needing- to run staff, but running staff should speed up the process by nature of the heals it provides. This would yield the option of running two non-staff weapons while still having Celestial Avatar available.

Celestial Avatar healing is the best available by a decent margin right now. One issue that came up is that the healing coefficients are so insignificant that running with healing stats yields very little reward.

The best healing in the game being available without using any healing power; this is not good for the game.

The berserker meta not be the only consideration requires that other stat combinations be rewarding.

Being able to run two more damage-focused weapons (if that’s your thing) and still have Celestial Avatar available should address some of your offensive concerns if you want to play a bit more offensively as a hybrid. If you want to focus on being the top offense then you probably shouldn’t be selecting the Druid specialization.

That’s all I’m going to say on the subject for now (though I will continue to read constructive feedback here and elsewhere) as there is plenty to be done in order to address these and other issues. /me ducks back to work on Scrapper and Druid.

It’s recommended, not required. The first Vale Guardian kill over the weekend had over 1:00 left to the enrage. Skill and builds are going to be the bigger factor in the success of your raid.

i think the reason why nature and impossible odds block each other is so that you can’t stack a high amount of quickness.. or so..

This is because Impossible Odds requires 10 upkeep consuming all your available upkeep. while it’s active which means you don’t have enough upkeep(2) to use facet of nature as well.

I’ll investigate the energy regen feeling weird a bit to see if it’s an issue.

I’d also like to add that when this happens, I never get wins to balance it back out. I have 48% win rate in ranked and unranked but 56% win rate in custom arenas. Total account wins are at 50%. This makes me need to ask the question: When the match making aims for 50% wins, does it read all my wins accrued concerning all current and previous match types including hotjoins and custom servers? If so, this would explain the lose streaks. Is the algorithm trying to keep my account win rate at 50% and I am being punished in ranked nowadays due to an old lingering good win rate from hotjoin/custom arenas?

Matchmaking doesn’t look at existing win rates, it only lowers your matchmaking rating if you lose and raises it if you win so that over time you should balance to a 50/50 win rate. Custom arenas, unranked, and ranked all have no influence on each other.

Well ok, then here’s a bug report. Went to Mists on my beta chars, placed loot in my regular account bank, logged to a non-beta char, retrieved items, soldd on TP.

I wasn’t even aware that this was not intended. I just thought TP was disabled on beta chars so they could not buy things from gem store that would be lost when they are purged.

Thanks for this bug report, Halvorn. I’ve forwarded it to the devs.

Can anyone else confirm that they were able to sell items in the manner described above? Thank you.

Thanks for the tremendous amount of feedback regarding the Druid. I’ll be modifying swaths of the druid (and scrapper) to fix bugs and account for your feedback this week and reviewing things like glyphs effectiveness, celestial avatar skill differentiation, astral force charging rates and some of the staff skills.

In general the Celestial Avatar form’s base heals feel a bit too high and heal coefficients didn’t feel rewarding enough to go with healpower stats. The heals themselves seemed to be working at decent values, so I’ll be tweaking the base heals down and coefficients up some in order to better reward selecting healing power stat combos as a druid.

Thanks for the solid feedback and spotting some unintended behaviors that I’ll be going over and modifying or changing, including things like the hammer autoattack aftercasts.

I’ll be checking what we can do on the AI side to help the appropriate gyros keep closer to you – this feedback and that rocket charge felt erratic are high on my list for today and tomorrow as modifying animation and AI can take a lot more work than other changes.

I’ll also thread in as many more easily implementable tweaks and bugfixes as I can (to several things like rocket charge being affected by movement-affecting boons and conditions). I’ll review gyro durations/recharge start times as well.

Has anyone had any luck using the coordinates in /v2/wvw/objectives? I can’t quite get markers to line up on a map created with the tile service.

I’m actually not sure how the game client places markers — my impression is that the sector centroid is used for the label placement, not marker placement. I need to dig up how the markers are placed; I’m not certain that they’re data-driven.

In preparation for the launch of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, our Game Operations Team will be conducting maintenance on both our European and North American servers. The maintenance is unlikely to cause any gameplay issues, but a small number of players may be required to log back into the game at the conclusion of the update.

The maintenance is scheduled as follows:

  • European Servers: 7:00 PM PDT on October 7 / 4:00 AM CET on October 8
  • North American Servers: 11:59 PM PDT on October 7 / 8:59 AM CET on October 8

The raiding UI is on right now. It’s been on for about an hour. So far it has been stable.

BTW, you need 10 people; and you need to change the squad type to “raid” before it will let you in. If you need to become a commander, there is an NPC “Whispers Keeper” you can talk to.

I have cleared all of the stuck matches. This will fix the infinite wait for queue pop issue. If you get an error message that says you are already in a match this generally can be fixed by logging out for 10 mins.

I am verifying that everyone that posted in this thread are unstuck as well.
