We again removed her access to stationery, but what the note doesn’t mention is that we’ve embargoed her pens, pigments, and scribing guides, too. We believe this will silence our Never-Stopping Correspondent.
If it’s still happening, could you let us know? ~sigh~
Just a note to say the issue related above was corrected with today’s build. Notes here.

In case we do get map rotations often, it would be nice if there is a variable in the wvw/matches endpoint that tells whether we’re having Desert or Alpine currently. Right now the way to determine that is to read the objectives array (which contains respective objectives).
In /v2/wvw/matches, each map object in the .maps array has a id — which somewhat ambiguously is the map_id — that you can inspect or resolve against /v2/maps to get the metadata and localized strings.
EDIT: also the new map tiles are up.

This item should be functional now.
The final votes are in the and poll has been closed. The final percentages are:
Scoring: 48.90%
Quality of Life: 45.23%
No Preference: 5.87%
Scoring has won! The WvW team will be releasing another poll soon so everyone can vote on what scoring project they want us to work on next.
Thank you to everyone who voted, and to everyone who left suggestions on what scoring and quality of life projects they would like to see the team work on!
We are aware of this issue and working on a fix.
Investigated this a bit; the fix is actually pretty complicated. I’m not sure if/when I’ll be able to fix it, unfortunately, nor do I have a workaround in the short-term. I’ve made a tracking issue on github for this.
In the short term, I’m uploading the regenerated tiles right now. Should have the Alpine BL tiles up by the end of the day.
In the middle term, your proposal sounds reasonable if a bit of a hack. I’ll look into setting it up sometime this week. I opened up a tracking issue on Github for this.
Just whitelisted it.
We have discovered that an issue may arise with the new leyline event in Central Tyria where occasionally a map will not kick off the event. We apologize for the inconvenience and will get this hot fixed as soon as possible, most likely tomorrow.
This thread is really unpleasant, and it’s a match-up thread, which at this time we do not permit on the forums. We’ll lock it now.
If other match-up threads are present, please flag them so the moderation team can close them.
Bug Fix:
So excited for everyone who will be able to attend Foostival this weekend! It’s one of my life goals to be there someday!
I hope you all have a wonderful time and remember to share some photos here on the forums!
This sounds like fun. I believe this event will be at 1:00 PM Pacific, 4:00 PM Eastern US. And remember, join on an EU world and message Duke Witherheart for a squad invitation if you want to join in.
I think y’all will want to read the update notes for today so you get a view of the map in the here and now. Changes have been made, but naturally we’d like you to share any issues that you identify after you’ve given the map a few run-throughs.
~snip~ For example the SW guy who babbles about Mordremoth attacking the pale tree. He has one line and repeats it every 30 seconds. ~snip~
Dear heavenly Dwayna — did you time that? Is it really 30 seconds!? I know I have heard more than I need about talking cabbages, but 30 bloomin’ seconds is really, really frequent. Can you let me know if that’s actual timing — I’d appreciate it.
I think it’d be good to read the update notes for today’s build.
A lot has been adjusted and amended, as you can see:
Frankly just the idea of jogging dolyaks makes it all worthwhile to me.
But seriously, give it a try before making a judgment, ok? The WvW Team is actively reading your feedback, but that feedback is always best when based on solid experience with the current map.
Thanks.
WvW is available again with the alpine borderlands.

This WvW maintenance period will be beginning shortly; likely within the hour.
This thread is three years old. Three years old. Why someone necro’d it — even how they necro’d it — is beyond me. But it’s clear the premise of the OP isn’t relevant today.
If you want to make a similar post relevant to today’s game you’re welcome to do so.

Guys, I can’t confirm the date… I don’t think. But yes, soon™.
This should be fixed now.
With the next (not-hotfix) release, WvW will be down for maintenance as we switch to the Alpine Borderlands maps. Announcements will be made in-game at the start and end of maintenance.
Thanks for letting us know. We’re looking into it.
I looked into this as I was playing the other day. I thought I’d found the solution when I shut down Dialog Volume, but the problem is, when you do that you lose not just the NPC chatter but essential gameplay info that you want to / need to have. To continue to get that info one could rely on text dialog boxes, but I found that occasionally I was facing the wrong direction, and with audible dialog off, I missed a few instructions, directions, or tips I needed. So it was back to running like a centaur and healing as one and Koda being judge and jury and talking cabbages until… well… the dolyaks come home.
I don’t imagine it’s possible to go too fine-grained on the options. If you look at the choices now, there are quite a few. And certainly there are other things that would be a higher priority for change, if change was even contemplated. But it’s good to have feedback on this subject, and I’ll see if I can learn anything about it.
Have another bug after completing Chuka and Champawat IV: Secluded Tour and reciving the Tiger Den Map i can’t process A Nontraditional Family because Cymbel does not give me the Baby Book. The only option i have is to get a copy of Completed Naturalist’s Journal.
Bring her another crude leather journal first and she should give it to you.
Thanks it worked, but it would be nice if this would be mentioned somewhere that you need another book !
Thanks for the feedback.
There have been a number of threads about this specific issue already, I think the best approach discussed was a special permission added but I’m not sure of anything that happened beyond that.
FWIW, that’s still the goal.
Adding the missing subendpoints seems reasonable; added a tracking issue.
Specialization icons that override the profession icon are in /v2/specializations for ease-of-use (and the default profession icons are in /v2/professions). Made a bit more sense to me to do it that way.
There is this item you need in part IV that requires you to kill risen gorillas while carrying a cub. But there are 3 areas where risen gorillas could be and only one of them is working for the collection. Only at Winter Knell Isle seems to work for this part of the achievement.
I started with killing gorillas in south at the jumping puzzle, after i went killing risen gorillas around temple of melandru and all gorillas didnt gave me the collection part i needed while the description just said “kill risen gorilla in cursed shore”
They all work, it just takes time for your tiger cub to learn.

This thread has gone far too many rounds of arguments between three or four individuals. Since no new ideas have been introduced since about, oh, 2004, and since everyone has had their say — sometimes 15 or 20 times -- we’ll now close the thread.
The Raids Team is aware of the thread and of the sentiments expressed within it.
Thanks.
Please do not post in topics that are months old. If there is a new issue, it should be brought up in a new post. But “diagnosing” something that apparently was solved last fall isn’t appropriate.
We appreciate input on the subject of the Living World and our characters. We’re proud of Sya, and glad that she is able to tell her story to those who visit Lion’s Arch.
I don’t recall instances where an NPC moved into the role of protagonist of the storyline, but our narrative team members, writers, and designers are active readers of the forums, and I’m sure they’ll catch up on this thread and consider the suggestion, as they do all others. Thank you for sharing.
I just posted a Thread in HoT discussion about this a few moments ago..any idea when it’ll return?
I’ve got a fix going in soon. Keep an eye out for the next week or so.
Hi there, there are actually 2 chests in that JP. You need to walk near the large silver one to get progress.
Hello everyone!
There’s an issue that some players have identified where you’re able to travel with your friend into their Tiger Den and take a Tiger Cub out into the open world even if you haven’t completed the necessary collections to have that ability. We’ve identified a proper fix but it will take some time to get it out to y’all. (est. a few weeks)
Once the fix goes through, you will be able to enjoy the presence of the Tiger Cubs in your friend’s Tiger Den instance, but you will be unable to carry them outside of that instance unless you’ve got the progress require to obtain that ability in the first place. This will be retroactive to any player who has already taken a Tiger Cub from their friend’s instance.
Tl;dr: After the fix, play with Tiger Cubs in your friend’s den as much as you’d like but complete the collections if you want to have them out in the open world.
I just pulled the kills/deaths for match 1-2 and they looked like this when I fetched them from the API:
"deaths": {
"red": 55369,
"blue": 49319,
"green": 51870
},
"kills": {
"red": 61143,
"blue": 49876,
"green": 37534
}
Using the above data, the total deaths with these counts is 156558, the total kills is 148553. The logic used on the map instance server for counting kills/deaths is detailed in this post — total deaths should always be higher than total kills.
It’s totally possible there’s another horrible bug with how the API interprets the counts from the map instance servers (last time it was including OS kills/deaths in the total counts); I don’t see the issue currently manifesting though.
This won’t happen for technical reasons (our NA and EU datacenters are entirely separate.) Though even if it was technically possible, there’d still be design reasons to avoid doing so, like that EU national worlds wouldn’t have NA partners that spoke the same language.
/v2/materials only shows crafting materials that can be stored in the account’s material storage (the contents of which is available via /v2/account/materials). To get a list of all “CraftingMaterial”-type items, you need to enumerate /v2/items.
Interest in polls for PvP is noted.
the harpy event in fields of ruin is still bugged…
Just go talk to Captain Carbins, he ignores that event now so that you can progress.
Hi everyone, this isn’t a bug. For your info:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Kudzu-Collection-Info-4-28/first#post6128667
Hello everyone! Quick blurb for you:
Kudzu Collection Info
The “Crimson Sunflower” collection item for the Kudzu I: The Experimental Longbow Collection has been temporarily disabled while we fix an issue. We will re-enable the full Kudzu Collection after the issue has been addressed. We will be posting this in other languages in the near future.
It’s me.
My Bearbow math is stronger than ever before! You are no match for me!
JS levies a 10g tax for every arrow fired from a ranger’s longbow if there’s a bear pet around.
This literally was my plan. No arrows, no bearbow.
Spoilers…
Skill lag is a perpetual battle. By far the biggest contributors is large scale combat involving high target player skills. Of course high target skills are exactly the preferred skills to use in WvW. This starts to become especially true as skills start activating faster and doing more things on each activation: traits/runes/sigils/food/quickness/alacrity etc. So we continue to make optimizations skills and combat, but there’s no single big offender, it’s a combination of thousands of smaller parts.
