I have a problem with “Craze’s Folly Feasibility Report”, reached (without mesmer portals or anything like that) the end of the JP and looted the chest, too. It didnt unlock in the collection

I tried relogging and rerunning the JP from scratch. Nothing helped.
On the side note you can pick up the Crimson Sunflowers (I finished the collection related to it) at the JP chest each time you relog and it is worth like 2 silvers. Not sure if it is intended.

Rerun it again after daily reset on a fresh new map /ip when Shatterer spawned. Still not working. So I guess I am stuck on this collection now.

Hi there, that area with the Crimson Sunflower is actually not the end of the puzzle. The end of the puzzle is actually located near a large Veteran Cave Troll.

Oh my bad, I totally forgot that JP has 2 chests, the last time I visited the Veteran troll was around 3 years ago…

It’s okay, pretty much the same exact thing happened to me when I went to investigate your issue

I didnt get chest for finishing. I checked inventory side by side ant search by “Hunt” and “chest” and i dont have it. I have only completed journal and completed achievement. Cant rebuy it from Grandmaster Hobbs in LA either. Bagred the Hunter give me only completed journal and don want to give me more

Guild favor (and the other guild currencies) aren’t currently available via the API. There’s an endpoint that isn’t turned on (don’t remember why — probably needs more testing) that exposes it; I can look into enabling it sometime next week.

I did 1 st tier collection and dont get recipe for The Hunt and Essence. Cant reset this, collection is done. Any ideas?

Those items are contained in a special chest that arrives in your “bouncy chest queue” above the mini map. Try going through all of those and consuming the containers you’re given.

Account sharing comes with certain risks, which is why we have a rule against it. Normally we don’t action against it (unless one of the parties was doing bad things). Doing it during a tournament is a bad idea.

A Few Questions about Matchmaking

1) 15 was a good number to use for all divisions such that you can’t matchmake on either side of an entire division. We have the ability to control where this number starts, and how long it takes to expand to a stopping point to ensure certain worst-case matchmaking times.

2) This is fair because there isn’t an MMR jump when you cross division boundaries.

3) We have not considered this. It’s also more complex that just losing divisions.

4) Player’s would get an mmr relative to their division that would all of a sudden be inaccurate when/if they cross divisions.

5) Yes

6) There will be matchmaking changes that strike a balance between season 1 and 2.

In all honesty…what do you think?

Ofcourse current MMR and let it deviate from there.

If players have inaccurate league mmr, then we’d copy a bad value. I personally prefer to have a single rating because the more ratings we have, the less accurate they all become because of split playtime. Ideally players should have relatively the same mmr on and off-season, but that is dependent on the styles of matchmaking.

If you’ll know for sure by using the same mmr. Please do it. I want to know if perception matches reality with firm numbers. Please.

I suppose what I said isn’t entirely true. We can compare split off-season mmr with on-season mmr just fine and probably much easier. It just may take longer to get another settled mmr that’s accurate opposed to letting a possible inaccurate mmr correct itself.

Did that include the Destroyer Scythe? Seems it popped up for some reason.

The pvp destroyer scythe was most likely a manual whitelist (or a GM playing around). It cannot be from mystic forge

That’s the most probable reason. I’ll see if I can find some time to dig through the logs and figure out where that came from. Given it’s a PvP weapon, it was almost certainly spawned in by a GM or customer support.

Uhm, does the data update somewhat slower? My deaths went from 5 minutes intervall updates to almost 20 minutes!

Should still be ~5 minutes. There’s an edge case where the map instance server hasn’t persisted character data to the database (IIRC that’s on a 5 minute timer, or when you switch maps or sell something on the trading post etc) and that stale data gets pulled in and cached by the API backend for another 5 minutes. So to the best of my knowledge, the maximum staleness should be around ~10 minutes (though only under special circumstances).

It’s altogether possible there’s a bug somewhere causing data to be cached too long. If the issue doesn’t clear up, consider opening an issue on github (or just posting again here).

Car Crashed fielded an ineligible player during their April 18, 2016 Pro League matches against The Civilized Gentlemen. According to our logs, the person playing as “Sam” was not the owner of the account, but was instead “Frostball”, a member of Vermillion. This violates rules set forth in the ESL Guild Wars 2 Pro League Rulebook as well as the Guild Wars 2 User Agreement. Frostball and all Car Crashed members that played on April 18 will be banned from ArenaNet-sponsored competitive events effective today through the end of the 2016 season, at which point each individual’s eligibility will be revisited.

All match-ups against Car Crashed will be changed to a 2-0 score in favor of the opposing team for weeks 1 through 7.

Car Crashed

  • Posi
  • Sam
  • Nag Nag
  • Super
  • Blackjack

Vermillion

  • Frostball

Hey all,

I talked to some dev team members and they gave me a little more insight into this subject. So here goes…

As y’all know, some months ago, we changed the visual effects for a number of skills. The reason for this was explained at the time—it was an initiative to reduce visual clutter. What that meant is that some of the skill effects looked great when viewed individually but they ended up being somewhat less-than-great when seen in a PvP match, a WvW battle, or just out in the wild when used by multiple players. In addition, some skill effects were inconsistent (I saw some mentions of that in this thread) or in other ways the effects simply required visual adjustments.

After players expressed concerns about the visual changes, we added the Effect LOD Toggle in the Spring Update. This toggle leaves your own effects the same at all times—a player’s skills should always look the same to that player—but it will reduce certain effects related to your allies or enemies.

Now, I think what you’re most curious about is how things will go moving forward. And it turns out, we do want to restore some of the skills that were reduced in the past. However, some effects, such as Auras, probably will remain as they are now, because the previous versions were considered to be too “loud,” and given the fact that their effect is supportive it needs to have a consistent visual effect across allies/enemies.

The team will continue to review and analyze effects that had previously received straight-up reductions (prior to the Effect LOD initiative) and they will restore some of the effects, when appropriate and over time.

I hope this info is helpful and I want to thank you for your patience while I rounded up these details to share.

For full disclosure: It’s a subtle dye. Mine are dyed purple, and you can see that in the glow, but they did not — as they did not in GW — turn a bright, blistering purple all over.

A big thank you to everyone who posted on the Official Feedback Thread: WvW Reward Tracks. We will still be looking at that thread for any feedback on reward tracks, but now that everyone has had the weekend to play, and hopefully had some epic fights, the team wanted to ask everyone their thoughts on the stability changes.

We changed stability so that it can only be removed every 0.75 seconds and added an effect that plays when it is removed.

1. How do you feel about this stability change?
2. Is there something else you would like to see done to stability instead?

There are fewer questions on stability than reward tracks but we encourage everyone to discuss with each other their thoughts on stability in this thread.

Either the wallet API is wrong or the wallet in GW2 is wrong, because there’s a difference between the amount of gems I really own and the amount of gems the wallet API returns… It looks like the API never noticed I bought some gemstore items during the SAB festival…

Yeah, the gem balance specifically is bugged. There’s a tracking issue on Github — waiting on a backend change to get deployed to live.

Hi,
could we maybe get hotjoin in the equation too?
Currently hot join feels just wasted. I guess it was intended as a training spot but it cant taken serious for that. If hotjoin would allow to jump in a match and as soon as there are two 5vs5 players it starts. No option to constantly leave and jump in a match or to switch in spectator mode (not in the official servers in custom servers this should stay), no autobalance, so that it gets a place of unbalanced teams were you can just play for fun. Cause playing in hotjoin currently is most of the times no pvp if your team constantly is ripped apart or you have to fight outnumbered. Bring some of the structure arenas offer to hotjoin and players who want to play 5vs5 in teams but dont want to play super competitve can play hotjoin instead of unranked.

What you described for hotjoin is just Unranked without matchmaking. If you haven’t tried Unranked, I suggest you try it because it sounds like it will give you everything you want.

Those shrubs are dynamically generated in the map editor, which is why they aren’t always logically placed. I’ll talk with the map artist about potentially removing them or replacing them with something less obstructing though.

The unusually steep steps in the fire keep lord room are there to prevent players from pulling the keep lord off the platform and thus circumventing some of the fight mechanics. Maybe this could be a single step though, like in the air keep.

Nerfs are coming for a number of the problematic guild upgrades like cloaking waters, chilling fog and airship defense.

For cloaking waters, the stealth duration is getting reduced dramatically. We recognize that it’s possible that any amount of stealth is too strong, but changing a number is something we can do quickly and safely. Whereas changing the upgrade to do something entirely different requires significantly more time, both in terms of general development (design/implementation/testing) and also in large part because it would require updated text, which in turn needs to go through our long editing and localization process. As for removing the upgrade entirely, that also isn’t really an option, due to how it’s intertwined with the Scribing and Guild Halls systems.

Except the same issue I have is still happening. I speak to her, and it removes my story, but upon mapping to a new zone it still shows that I am continuing my story. I don’t want to finish it but I’m tired of it being on my screen. I thought speaking to her would fix that issue.

The issue that was addressed through today’s bug fix was the one related to getting a mail every time you enter Lion’s Arch. I can see your situation is different. It may be advisable to contact Customer Support to have them look into this for you.
