Reminder: WvW deliberately doesn’t obey Daylight Savings Time changes.
Reset times in NA are currently 7pm/10pm PDT/EDT.
On November 6th, when US time zones (those that obey DST) resume their “Standard” times, it will look like 6pm/9pm PST/EST.
Or, more tersely, it is always 2am UTC year-round.
Extra note: I had to review this post about three times to get it all right. For being simple offsets, it’s amazingly easy to mess up timezone math.

so my accounts that I play on are suspended for another 12 days…else I would. Unless you wanna do something about that :-)
In your meeting can you be sure that the following 3 things are discussed?
1. Fixing Auto Loot so that the AFK timer is not reset
2. adding in a Auto Loot Hot key that we can bind with
3. adding in an in game warning about using Auto Loot to auto play the game while AFK and how its against the TOS/EULA.I did pass this through another Channel (one of my tickets) but since you are having a meeting, figured I would touch on it here and ask for you to make sure it gets brought up. as it is a hot issue :-)
Can you toss me a ticket number so I can look at your feedback? I also want to look at your suspensions and make sure that ALL of my GMs are understanding how we’re handling this particular situation.

One more point that game security just brought up:
While your pet is auto-attacking your avatar should be in NO WAY attacking or casting any skill.

TL;DR: If you’re AFK; your avatar should be idle.
I’ll further clarify.
You are in no way allowed to use a third party program or script to accomplish this part: “your pets are doing the killing and your mastery is doing the looting”.
If a GM moves you or speaks to you and you don’t respond – then you are partaking in unattended gameplay and may have your account warned/suspended/terminated (depends on how many violations the account had previously). Pet Kills & Macro Looting Excepted
Game Security GMs are trained to remove afk players that are interacting with the game, environment, or other players from the game. Pet Kills & Macro Looting Excepted

We’ve now released the final version of a 64-bit client for Guild Wars 2. Please review the following FAQ for more information:
What is the 64-bit client?
It is an alternative to the 32-bit client currently used to play the game. Aside from some technical details, the two are identical in functionality.
How do I get the 64-bit client?
If you already have the 32-bit client installed and your computer matches our recommended specifications for the 64-bit client, you will automatically be switched over the next time you launch the game. If you do not, you may download it from the account management page.
I already have the 32-bit client; will I have to completely download the game again?
No. The 64-bit client uses the same data as the 32-bit client. If you already have the game installed, and your computer matches our recommended specifications for the 64-bit client, you can simply launch the game to have it switch automatically. If your computer does not match the recommended specification, but you want to try using it anyway, the process is manual and only recommended if you are comfortable copying data files around:
- Download the 64-bit client installer.
- Rename it from Gw2Setup-64 to Gw2-64.
- Copy the newly renamed file into the Guild Wars 2 game folder.
- Update any game shortcuts to point to the new file.
What are the requirements for automatically switching to the 64-bit client?
Your computer must be running a 64-bit version of Windows, and you must have 4 GB or more of physical memory.
My computer satisfies the requirements for automatic switching to the 64-bit client, but I want to remain on the 32-bit client.
If you want to remain on the 32-bit client, you may add -32 to the command line used to launch the game client. Please refer to the wiki for instructions on how to modify your command line.
Are the two clients mutually exclusive?
Due to technical limitations with the installer, it will not allow you to install both clients simultaneously. You may however do it manually by first installing the 32-bit client, and then following the steps outlined in “I already have the 32-bit client; will I have to completely download the game again?”.
Does the 64-bit client only benefit players with more than 4 GB of system memory?
No. It is true that the 32-bit client in theory can access up to 4 GB of memory. In practice however this is almost never the case, due to gaps in the address space that slowly build up over time (known as fragmentation). Most players crashing today due to being “out of memory” are actually only using between 3 and 3.5 GB of their system memory.
In addition to this, modern operating systems use something known as “virtual memory” to extend the available memory beyond what the system has physically. The 64-bit client will allow you to benefit from the increased address space by making gaps largely irrelevant, and will allow the client to use more memory than it could otherwise rather than crashing.
Are there any performance differences between the 64-bit and 32-bit client?
There may be some very slight differences in favor of either client depending on your computer’s configuration. In the vast majority of cases it should be negligible.
Why is the 64-bit client using more memory than the 32-bit client?
Due to the technical differences between the two platforms the memory usage will never be directly comparable.
Is there a 64-bit Mac client?
The Mac client is still 32-bit.

There is a hot fix coming.

Xdragonshadowninjax (80 Thief)
Thanks for that list, that’s super helpful. There’s a longstanding bug in one of the backend servers that causes it to erroneously return items it shouldn’t — in the meanwhile I’ve added those ids to the blacklist so they will stop appearing in the list.
You get everything.

Is the Mac Client de-facto 64 bit too, or just Windows client?
The Mac client is still 32-bit only at this time.
season 3 we get both
i.e.red – blue
8 – 8
8 – 9
9 – 8
8 – 9
9 – 8something like that maybe.
otherwise, one team gonna have slightly higher overall MMR.
Season 1 would have been closer:
6 – 7
6 – 5
5 – 5
5 – 4
4 – 4
Your season 2 example is accurate, though could be closer in some circumstances.
Season 3 will be like a sorted version of season 1:
4 – 5
4 – 5
4 – 6
5 – 6
5 – 7

UPDATE:
We want to let you know that Hero’s Choice Chests will be returning shortly, but they are not yet available at this hour. There was a persistent issue with the chests that requires further testing. Season 3 is currently planned to kick off at 12 PM PST today.
For the 32 bit you will need to put -32 in your command line.
To be clear, that is only necessary if you’re running it on a 64-bit system with 4 GB or more of RAM, and still want to use the 32-bit client.
You will also get achievement progress!
Bra (80 Guard), Fixie Bow (80 Ranger), Wcharr (80 Ele)

The Gw2.dat file residing next to the game’s executable(s) is shared among the two clients, so in theory you could just copy that one back and forth. If you want to avoid the copying, you can modify the shortcut to tell it to load it from your external hard drive too. There are instructions on the wiki. Specifically, you’d be interested in the -dat [string] switch.
Another thing you could do is to always launch the 32-bit client. If you’re on a 64-bit system, starting today it will just launch the 64-bit executable instead. So on your home machine, it would launch the 64-bit client while at work it would remain on the 32-bit client.
You can force it to stay on the 32-bit client by launching with -32 on the command line.
That said, if you need to restrict application memory to such an extent to even keep Windows from crashing, have you considered looked over your virtual memory allocation?
Yes, you can add -32 to the command line as you’re launching the 32-bit client to force it to remain on the 32-bit client.
I never used the 64 bit client cause it crashed on startup. Now I literaly cannot play the game?
How do I launch the 32 bit client only now?
There’s an FAQ coming up in a while, but you can force it to stay on the 32-bit client by adding -32 to the command line.
That said, I’d like to know why it crashes on startup for you. The vast majority of the crashes in 64-bit on launch right now appear to be caused by other software. As a concrete example, Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware has been known to cause GW2 client crashes for a long time.
The option will not display if the other party member is in a separate region. For example if you are NA and they are EU, or vice versa.
So I don’t have to download that 64bit client?
Correct, it does it automatically as long as you have a 64-bit OS and 4 GB or more of RAM.
If not, anyway to tell if it using 32bit or 64bit?
Currently the best way would be to use the task manager. If you’re using Windows 8 or 10, the “Processes” tab in the detailed view will say “Guild Wars 2 (32 bit)” for the 32-bit client and just “Guild Wars 2” for the 64-bit client. For older versions of Windows, it will have an asterisk next to Gw2.exe if you’re running the 32-bit version.

Structured Player vs. Player
League Placement Divisions
We’ve added an automatic division-placement system to PvP Leagues for Season 3. A player’s starting division for each new season will be determined by their performance from the previous season. This will help players face more equally skilled opponents from the very start of the season. It also allows them to reach their intended division quicker so that they can spend more time improving their skills in more even matches for a longer portion of the season.
Division placement for Season 3 will occur as follows:
- Legendary and Diamond Division players will start the new season in Sapphire.
- Ruby and Sapphire Division players will start the new season in Emerald.
- Emerald and Amber Division players will start the new season in Amber.
- Players must have played at least one match during the previous season to qualify for automatic division placement in the new season.
- Rewards from skipped divisions will be awarded after players play one match in the new season.
League Matchmaking
Season 2 matchmaking was changed from Season 1 Ranked and Unranked matchmaking to help ensure league positions correlated more with skill instead of simply being based on the hours played. These changes saw a multitude of improvements for Season 2, but unfortunately they also spread out win rates further than we would have liked, as matches became a bit too uneven. We’ve created a new matchmaker for Season 3 that will strike a balance between the two previous seasons, accomplishing the same goals of accuracy from Season 2 but doing so with the evenness of matches that players experienced in Season 1.
Spectator
- Health bars, player outlines, target selection arrows, and ground indicators now match team colors.
- Neutral NPCs now all use yellow indicators.
Build Panel
- Removed the Mercenary’s Amulet.
- The Viper’s Amulet is now free to all players. Anyone who previously purchased the Viper’s Amulet will receive a refund for their purchase.
General
- Improved the secondary mechanic messaging for Forest of Niflhel, Temple of the Silent Storm, and Spirit Watch maps by adding new event timers to the UI.
- Added basic season statistics to the Leagues tab of the PvP panel.
- Added tooltips to the Division panel to show individual tier rewards.
- Since the teleport was removed, the task bar will now flash and horn audio will play when the game is preparing so players are reminded of the match starting.
- Fixed an issue that allowed necromancers to acquire weapon skills while holding the Spirit Orb in Conquest mode in Spirit Watch.
World vs. World
General
- Collapsed guild camp upgrades into a single tier.
- Tier II tactivators have been removed.
- Assault Roller, Packed Dolyaks, and Speedy Dolyaks are now tier I camp upgrades.
- Centaur Banner, Dragon Banner, Turtle Banner, and Iron Guards are no longer camp upgrades.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Heart of Maguuma reward track from unlocking after completing the Tangled Depths reward track.
Alpine Borderlands
- Fixed a bug that prevented the orange crossed-swords marker from displaying to indicate locations of heavy player combat.
- Capturing ruins now properly counts toward the Daily Master of Monuments achievement.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Heroics Notary vendor from spawning in citadels on the Alpine borderlands map.
BLACK LION TRADING COMPANY GEM STORE
New Items and Promotions

Improvements
- The Black Lion Trading Company has hired an aesthetician who allows players to preview new hairstyles, faces, and other appearance details without needing to own a Total Makeover Kit. In order to confirm any changes, players must have a Total Makeover Kit in their inventory. Aesthetician Kristina can be found in the front room of the Black Lion Vaults in Lion’s Arch.
Bug Fixes
- The Cook’s Outfit has returned to the Gem Store, found in the Style category for 700 gems.

Most of this price increase revolves around players that are pushing the value up due to the players willingness to pay more. If players are willing to pay more for an item, it’s going to keep increasing until eventually it hits a ceiling for the commodity. We’ve seen the same thing occur with numerous commodities over time.
Right now there is a consistent supply of mystic coins entering the game (way more than are being consumed) and churning through the trading post at a very slow rate. Most of the coins on the market are ones that have been flipped.
In retrospect, this is actually causing the daily login reward to be worth significantly more to players who wish to convert mystic coins to gold.
We do intend to get to all of them, but it’ll be a gradual process, so we wanted to use this poll as an opportunity to gauge the community’s prioritization of each feature, as well as spark additional discussion.
I’m not sure if this belongs here, but there seems to be an issue with https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/skills/6084?lang=fr and https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/skills/6084?lang=es
Both the ‘en’ and ‘de’ versions of the skill work fine, but ‘es’ and ‘fr’ through some oddball errors.

We plan to do everything on the poll. This poll is to help us set priorities of what order you would like to see them.
If you have the Old Equipment Bag on the boosted character have you tried opening it?
For more information on the options in the poll, I recommend checking out Tyler’s Let’s Talk Scoring Thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Let-s-Talk-Scoring
Adjust scoring to be relative to current activity and population (Large) is the Skirmish idea Tyler explained in this thread.
Changes to Match Structure:
- We’ll split the week long matches into 2 hour time slices we are calling ‘Skirmishes’
- Warscore is used to determine the winner of a Skirmish
- Skirmishes award varying amounts of Victory Points based on placement
- Victory Points are used to determine Match victor
- When a Skirmish ends, Warscore is reset, but actual map-state remains unchanged
And PPK:
*The amount of score earned from PPK will be increased, so that it contributes more to the overall score.
*As a rough number, PPK may increase to 3-5 points, rather than 1, with diminishing returns on killing players who have been alive for less than 5 minutes.
*We will also rebalance the Warscore for Caravan Kills, Caravan Delivery and Sentry Captures.

Hello,
Thanks for the call out Gaile.
The Layline sounds were a team effort between Drew and I. I did them first in video and then handed that session over to Drew to get the sounds in game. I’m usually the fortunate one that gets to work on sounds in our marketing/cinematic videos that haven’t been done in game yet, “concept audio” if you will. Then we have to figure out how we’ll get that to work in game. I’ll see if I can find that session and get you some more details about what sounds I used. I’m pretty sure it was mostly done in a VST granular synthesizer called Padshop. I’ve made a lot of sounds in there just by dropping random SFX in and “playing”. I end up with these long recorded files I go back through and cut out the parts I like. I love this kind of sound design as you get to “perform” the sounds, but it is easy to get lost in how fun this is and spend hours just making sounds that you may or may not use:).
When the fountains start spouting, they play a soft, slow melody. Very sweet!
And LA has some of the best music in the game, so I like to hang out there and just let it play….

Why wouldn’t this be in the current, already ‘official’, ambient sounds thread?
Seems suspicious….
We have an ambient sounds thread? Hmmm, I didn’t remember that!
But really, when these are event-related, are they technically “ambient?”
Guys — I am not hinting anything at all. I’m just making a couple of observations. Sometimes, it’s that simple!

Oh no, no, I promise this is not a hint in any way. (Well, except to hint that everyone should join in an event to listen up!
)
I really like good music and in-game sound effects, and I believe our team is beyond exceptional. I wanted to call this out because it’s one of many occasions when I thought that what the team created really enhances the event. (And you’re right, it takes place in three maps — all are fun!)
Oh, another one I noticed the other day: When you go to your guild hall, and you harvest or log or mine, give a listen to how the direction of the sound changes — oh so subtly — as you turn to take on another node, even if your char doesn’t move a step. It’s just really elegant!
