This seems to be back. I’ve tried checking and unchecking boxes, repping and not repping, and I know I’m choosing the proper channel in the chat line itself. Continue to get “You’re not a member of this channel.”
If anyone remembers other means of fixing this, I’d appreciate an assist.
The results turned out more mixed than we think will be good for the future health of the game. For that reason we are going to run a “Remove Desert Borderlands?” poll first and then run a variation of this poll again. The updated poll will be reworded for clarification due to large amounts of feedback that many of the ‘No’ votes were cast with a misunderstanding of what they meant.
Personally, I voted ‘Yes’ to this, as did the rest of my team. So we are also disappointed with the result. But that was an accepted risk when we decided to poll the community about WvW development rather than just following our own vision.
We chose to target active players for polls, because they are actually playing WvW and thus have the largest stake in the result. Many inactive players may never come back, or come back only briefly. We don’t think it would be fair to let the votes of those who have quit playing shape the result for those that are still playing.
Well, the truth is, we had some issues with all this rampant ley energy lately, and our inventory lists got scrambled. Here’s a heads up that the Ceremonial Plated Outfit will be leaving the store soon, and the Glowing Green Mask will be available at a later date.
We are looking at ways to improve transfer experience. It’s a complicated problem.
Our current preferred solution, which we’ll likely poll players on, is as follows:
The poll has ended! After removing all votes for “Don’t Count My Vote” and combining the two “Yes” votes, the final results are:
69.7% – Yes (55% Double Alpine + 14.7% Double Desert)
30.3% – No
Since “Yes” to Mixed Borderlands did not received the required 75% of the vote, we’ll continue with the quarterly borderlands map rotation instead. Thank you to everyone who voted!
We agree that a fully in-game polling system would be better than the current setup. However, it’s a question of priorities. Is it better to spend months building out an in-game polling system, which would indirectly benefit players? Or spend that same time building features that directly benefit WvW players, like additional scoring or quality of life improvements? Perhaps that will be one of the options on the next prioritization poll.
Our current polling method still has high participation. Large numbers of players from every world vote in every poll. Also, we’ve noticed that once the total number of votes has reached a certain threshold , votes tend to stabilize, and doubling or tripling the number of votes tends to make very little impact on the final result.
Seeing as there hasn’t been an update to this thread post-hotfix, I’m hopeful that at least the majority of the gripes with the recent changes to instruments have been dealt with. That said, I haven’t been able to test instruments to the degree that you folks use them. I don’t know what songs you’re playing. What I do know is that you ought to be able to play all the songs now that you could before. So if any problems arise that weren’t doing so before the game updates this week, post to the game bugs forums exactly how you reproduce your issues. If I can’t replicate your exact problem, then I can’t know for certain whether or not any subsequent fixes I make to instrument systems will solve it.

Time for attempt #4! I made some slight adjustments (anim speed, attack radius, increased travel velocity for the small leap at the end) to the skill that should (hopefully) make it land more consistently.

So I….it’s working as intended but the tooltip is just wrong? How the hell is this thing even a GM? At this point it should just be a minor trait at most! Give it a 1 second ICD and it would still be worthless.
I believe the trait functionality changed back when Embrace the Darkness changed. I agree that it’s lackluster – hence why I’m here. There’s a number of decent suggestions in the thread. I’ll bring them to the team and see what we come up with.
Did you read Cody Crichton’s answer? I guess not. He said the issue will be fixed since the octave change has bad ping.

Cody Crichton said, and I quote, “There’s a bug that got introduced which causes the octave switch to take effect +100ms later than it is supposed to in the audio script.” end of quote
That has absolutely nothing to do with 100ms worth of ping, but everything to do with unique numeric timer values within the game code gone wrong tied to the instruments that messed up the octave switch buttons due to the recent patch changes that likely caused an unintended chain reaction.
This fix that I mentioned will, in a subsequent patch, clear up all the problems you’re complaining about with octave switching, yes, including chords. As for note cooldowns, that’s out of my control. I’ll pass your note along. Thanks for all your patience!

If you’re over 5,000 range away from Portal Entre when you try to use Portal Exeunt it will still play the visual effect you won’t be able to interact with the portal.
In the April 19th update we’re forcing some options by default in spectator mode. Check the list and let me know if what you’re seeing makes sense:
A handful of options are now forced in spectator mode:
Free Camera: ON
Camera Shake: OFF
Disable Area of Effect Rings: ON
Show Ally Names: ON
Show Enemy Names: ON
Show All NPC Names: ON
Show Simple Condition Floaters: OFF
Note: necro minions, mesmer clones, and pets shouldn’t have visible nameplates.

Could Mace 3 block more than just one attack before it triggers? With the current amount of things flying around it’s entirely useless as a defense mechanism. Or at least give it a duration (.75-1 sec block) with the ability to trigger a counter attack while it’s still casting

Just wanted to chime in to say that we have seen the various rev bug threads floating around, and we’ll be shipping a good number of fixes with the next balance update. I can’t promise everything will get fixed, but it will be progress.
The trait is actually working as intended (25% chance to apply torment), but the tooltip is incredibly inaccurate.
That said, I don’t think it’s GM worthy with a 15s ICD. How does 10s sound?

Bug Fixes
One of the PvP teams priorities is to introduce more maps into the PvP rotation.

The instrument changes is awful.
WIth the flut, if you use a note, you can’t use the same note anymore, even after changing octave. So all is going wrong with music. I still like the fact that the animation doesn’t disapear anymore during long song.
I found and fixed the bug causing problems specific to the flute instrument, now awaiting regression testing before the fix makes its way to you.
There’s a bug that got introduced which causes the octave switch to take effect 100ms later than it is supposed to in the audio script. This has been fixed in our development branch and is almost ready to undergo further testing before it’ll be ready to go live. Sorry for the pain the bug is causing, but it should be better sometime very soon.
THIS is absolutely awesome! I am so, so, SO happy to see this implemented. I love my Ranger, and I think her shouts are charming, but dear heavenly Dwayna, I have been hearing them far too often. So it appears that I can choose to continue to hear the story lines or the tips — like Trahearne’s “Go for Bram” or “She’s vulnerable!” type of messages in the Mordy fight — but I can elect to not hear “We heal as one!” hundreds of times a day.
