Female Char called keep "lords"

Also, I am serious. Why do we hide the fact the Keep lords are female as an Easter egg? This seems one of those things that would be seriously lore worthy. Charr females as the last line of defense in the mist wars. Really fitting for their racial story that is all about proving they can be soldiers too.

…wait, WvW. Lore. Story mode. Never mind.

They don’t. Charr follow military rank structure in. Legionary, Centurian, Tribune, Legate, Imperator.

Calling them “Lords” is an of itself a humanocentric culturual agression against the Charr Race. The title “Lord” does not exist in Charr culture. The fact that it is a male appelation applied to Charr females is simply the icing on the cake.

Allow guild specific map Meta events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Aeros.2046

It would be interesting if they did the normal instancing and overflows based off of guilds. So “guild versions” of the maps would be scaled higher and the events would be group based. You could even incorporate a “Alliance” feature where friendly guilds would get the same instance.

This however would create a segregation issue, among guilded players and non.

And this is a good thing. The best part of end game content in all MMO’s has always been the end game raid content that required community organization. It is what keeps the game interesting, because its a challenge. There are only so many times you can crash helmet the Gates of Arah before it gets tedious.

Nobody is forced to be in guild, and the regular content would still be there. What people have wanted for a long time is some justification for there to be guilds at all. Right now, the segregation is not Guilded players benefiting over unguilided. Its the reverse. There is NO NEED to be in a guild in GW2, which means no need to put up with the effort required to make or be in a guild in the first place. The multi-repping ability further diminishes the guild as an institution as well. In many cases they are just glorified friend lists. Which is fine, for a game nobody wants to play beyond a few months. But people played GW1 for YEARS. There is no such motivation in GW2. Right now Anet has a solid MMO that has a ton of content, and no replay value.

Allow guild specific map Meta events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

There has long been a complaint about challenging end game content, but honestly, the end game content IS challenging, so long as its not done by you and 79 of your “closest friends”. 80 players doing one event is essentially game breaking. There is no challenge, no need for cooridination, and the bosses at the end of event chains, like say, the High Wizard of Arah die pitifully fast.

An easy and obvious fix is to boost what the guild event flag does. Instead of simply starting up the event (like it does for tequatle) the flag functions like an Asura gate, where members of the guild can pass through to a unique instance of the map. The chosen event then begins, but the difficulty is greatly increased (enemies have higher levels, more elites/champions, etc).

Say people want to do the Temple of Balthazar. There would be a guild icon in Fort trinity, the guild would gather by it, and the GM would put the flag down. Everyone would pass through, and 30 seconds after the instanced map is created, the Southern Invasion of Orr event chain begins. The GM would have a choice of making the flag open to everyone, or just guildies.

In this way, a highly technical end game even begins, one that would be more rewarding, as the enemies would have higher levels, and in theory also drop better loot. There would also be more satisfaction as clearing the difficulty level “as a guild” would be a boost to the community.

The reason people went to Fort Mariner are the same reasons people go to it now. Because that is where Anet decided to put almost all of the Lions Arch personal story nodes, all the guild stuff in Lions Arch, the ONLY guild commendation vendor in the game, the WvW Mist Gates, The laurel vendor and so on. Its for these reasons that people are having to hoof it to Fort Mariner now. They simply disabled the waypoint but did not remove the reasons why people went there in the first place. Its not game breaking. Its just in your face obnoxious.

Fix Fort Mariner Waypoint PLEASE

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

We get it. Mordremoth bad, he eats waypoints, etc. But seriously, the Fort Mariner waypoint is central for WvW players, particularly on reset night. Its proximity to the mist gates, the guild bank, the guild commendation trader, and the laurel vendor makes it arguably the most used waypoint in the game, right before it was permanently disabled. Its been disabled for months now. Yes, this is probably a whine, but I am so tired of constantly having to run to get to Fort Mariner for whatever it is I need from it. Its not a big issue, but its one of those niggling annoying things. Like a paper cut that never heals. Constantly reminding you of its existence week in and week out.

For that matter, I know what DtC is capable of and his limitations, and it was good fun spiking him 1 week after he transferred off BP. DtC’s biggest problem was always his ego. It could not be contained, and heaven help anyone that showed him otherwise.

If anything, the naysayers that feel the need to post in this thread is proof enough I have made an impact in the mid tiers. I am loved and hated. The fact that my name alone is enough make these people crawl out of the woodwork, is proof enough that my name carries weight. For good or bad.

[BS] Borlis Savers for Borlis Pass!

in Looking for...

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

What is BS? BS is a PVX guild known for its daily and open WvW raids, as well as its PvE raids. It is presently the largest guild on the Borlis Pass server with 370 active members. In WvW, BS has routinely produced many new WvW commanders over its long history. The guild also has a fairly relaxed posture towards organization in raids, encouraging individuals to choose to improve rather then mandating any specific classes or builds. For those who like more structure, the guild also does Skilled raids with set builds and class composition once or twice a week.

In PvE, BS does Tequatl the Sunless daily, as well as Bosses and Temples as they are available. BS also conducts the full suite of guild missions twice a week to insure most of its members get a chance for doing it at least once.

For governing structure, BS is unique in that it has established persistent institutions that have long outlived its original members. Senior guild officers, including its top rank (The Imperator) are elected, with the 4 primary group officers being elected every 3 months and the Imperator elected whenever there is a vacancy. This institutionalized structure has done a great deal towards mitigating inter guild drama. One particular hallmark of BS’s institutional nature is a 24 hour procedure for removing someone from the guild. Nobody can be kicked arbitrarily from BS. All together, BS has managed to cobble together a fully functional government answerable to the guilds members, making the guild a permanent fixture on Borlis Pass. We fully expect to be celebrating our 2 year anniversary in a couple months.

Tl;DR, what does BS offer you?

1. Daily WvW raids and commander training.

2. Tequatl the Sunless kills

3. Active PvE participation in off hours for dungeons, bosses and so on.

4. An engaged and elected officer cadre, with advancement in the guild based on merit (2 of our senior officers have only been with us a few months)

5. A fully realized arbitration system for openly dealing with internal issues.

6. Access for WvW drivers to the largest armory in Borlis Pass, hundreds of superior rams, arrow carts, food, omega golems and money for upgrades.

If this sounds like the guild for you, check us out at borlissavers.enjin.com to request an invite, or whenever you see us running around WvW!

Lions Arch needs to be Server Specific

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

Right now, its really tough for guilds to be able to form some sort of cohesion to their activities. The only place a guild can recruit people on their server is in WvW. Forming up to do PvE events becomes a massive headache as we try and figure out who got on what mega server map. Recruitment is also a pain because we have to sort through all the people on other servers who will not be able to be with our guild if we want to do WvW raids, or would otherwise have a hard time getting onto our mega server maps.

Megaservers are, frankly, a pain in the butt for guilds trying to organize themselves, and a simple fix would be to not make Lions Arch a mega server map. Its not like LA has any events that led to the problems Mega server sought to fix.

in Looking for...

Aeros.2046

tired of the incessant lag fest in the higher tiers? Looking for that magical place with no queues but still has plenty of activity in WvW? Look no further then Borlis Pass, a server that has sat smack in the middle tier of North America’s WvW presence without interruption for over a year.

What does BP offer?

~An active and engaged community~
Borlis Pass has a very active user community, that is not so large that people fall into the cacophony. Its in many respects like a small village or large extended family. Despite the occasional bouts of dysfunction that all families go through, Borlis Pass has been largely stable with a core cadre of guilds whose origins extend all the way back to the first months of GW2’s release. Before mega servers, Borlis Passes community also pioneered the Orrian temple rush on Sunday’s that became a major cross server event that took place every weekend on Borlis Pass. The server also puts on random events such as fashion contests and gift exchanges.

~Persistent presence with room for growth~
Borlis Pass is an East Coast North American server, and the only time qeues rear their head is during the prime time during EST from 7:00 to 10:00. Usually only on one map. During reset night, two maps tend to be completely queued. There is substantial room for growth in the Pacific Time period, as well as EU and Ocean. During off hours however, there are plenty of people still in WvW, with a couple active guilds during the Ocean time zone and players/commanders in the intervening period. Which leads too

~The most skilled militia outside Tier 2~
Borlis Passes random players are (Arguably, this is the internet) among the best in the game. Even at the highest fury of massive blob servers attacking Borlis Pass, zergs break like water over a stone upon the walls of our Garrison and Eternal Keep. Oftentimes in lop sided matchups you will see BP tenaciously clinging to Waypoints in its Borderlands and Eternal despite being hit by numbers far in excess to what is present defending. In the hands of our several militia commanders, the BP militia becomes a terrifying force capable of going toe to toe with almost any other servers militia and guilds.

We attribute Monkey Shinezz with making our militia among the best in the game. Firing arrowcarts to the battle cry of BROLIS NOOBS is a BP tradition akin to “We shall fight in the shade!” These are people that stuck with Borlis Pass going into Silver League knowing full well they would be fighting blob fests from the top tier of Silver. Tenacious really does not even begin to describe the BP militia.

~Constellation of guilds~
Borlis Pass has a large constellation of guilds ranging from small havoc teams to massive forces capable of forming independent zergs. Despite the pressures of leagues, many of these guilds remain on Borlis Pass even with the lure of bandwagoning pressure, and contribute greatly to Borlis Passes inherent stability as a server.

~Little Chance of a Serverwide meltdown~
Borlis Pass has hit snags on the road of life like many servers, and has endured two leagues already from a precarious position, getting through just fine. Borlis Pass has been between rank 11 and 13 persistently since March of 2013 with very little fluctuation up or down. The server as a rule does not actively recruit guilds, nor pays for or encourages mass transfers via gold rallies. This prevents artificial inflation that leads to a sudden collapse when these guilds inevitably leave. Those guilds and players that do find themselves on Borlis Pass are always welcomed into the community, a community that carries almost nationalistic fervor about itself and a superiority complex that drives our opponents crazy on occasion.

If you are interested in Borlis Pass, either as an individual or as a guild, then come on over to our forum, www.borlis.org. We have cookies.

Guilds need their own maps

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

While this Meta Map thing is nice for people playing casually, it is impossible for Guilds to conduct guild specific PvE anymore because all our events get swarmed by hundreds of random people and it loses all significant meaning for doing it as a guild. This is of course assuming that an event is even AVAILABLE. I can’t remember the last time I went to straights of devastation and saw Balthazar closed. Its been a very long time.

Anet, Guilds need a power to unlock their own maps. The game IS called Guild Wars after all. But there really is no reason for having a guild outside of WvW these days.

As for your impending match up with FA, well, I am also so very sorry. Lock a server THEN announce Season 3

in WvW

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

I think if we have learned anything from Season 1 and now Season 2, its that people will use third party websites like Reddit to organize mass migrations to 3 primary servers to guarantee wins for Gold, Silver and Bronze. Maybe this is not as huge an issue for Gold League, but kitten if it isn’t a massive one for Silver

lets face it, the front loading has already determined the winners. Fort Aspenwood is going to win Silver (unless Yaks does, could be close) but we all know the entire Silver league is a competition between Yaks Bend and Fort Aspenwood, two servers that were front loaded 1 week before people got locked in.

These Seasons are a good idea on paper, but that are absolutely devastating for mid rank server WvW populations. Season 1 broke several of them, sending many of their guilds and players to already overpopulated tier 1 and 2 servers. Season 2 is doing it again just as many of these servers were finally recovering from the massive hemorrhaging of players caused by Season 1. if you need any evidence to just how buggered Silver league is right now, just observe all three tiers of it with the Green team hitting for well over 100k points after 2 days and the next place finishers more more the 50k to 100k behind.

All of this can be avoided if you don’t announce an upcoming season until AFTER the players are bound to their current server. Speaking just from Borlis Passes experience, many of our players went to Fort Aspenwood. And the reason? “Because that is where everyone else is going so we can win Silver League.” Sad thing is, its going to set FA up for a meteoric crash once all these bandwagoners start fighting Jade Quarry after the season is over.

Its bad for everyone. Except maybe Jade Quarry.

Mesmers need a decent AOE attack

in WvW

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

Mesmers have a huge structural problem in WvW right now. And that problem is they are absolutely critical for zerg maneuvering, (Portals, Temporal Curtains, Veils) as well as zerg defense (Null Field, Feedback). However, to play a Mesmer in WvW is to essentially do it for charity. Mesmers have no effective splash AOE attacks that they can rely on for tagging potential loot bags, especially when compared to say, Eles spamming lighting bolts everywhere, necro wells, engineer grenade spam, guardian staff 1 spam, etc. Which means they don’t tag enemies. And get pathetic amounts of loot. Worse, they are constantly being bugged by commanders for this or that and then berated when they don’t deliver.

This has effectively made the Mesmer the WvW equivalent to a salary man. Overworked, underpaid, and insulted for its efforts.

A simple solution to this would be to make the Scepter 1 attack the equivalent to the Guardian staff 1 attack. Instead of focus firing one person, the attack will instead spawn a clone per swing, and splash AOE 4 other targets within a set radius (say, 500) it will do this for all three Scepter 1 attacks. After which you have the 3 mesmer clones that you can shatter for the rest of the AOE tag.

The attack itself is not onerously damaging, or in my view, game breaking. But it does mean that in fights that the mesmer is in, where his or her team wins, they get more then one or two loot bags.

Warrior or necromancer for wvw?

in WvW

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

Necromancers are highly potent at WvW, you just have to know how to run it. Its ability to life suck with well, cleanse or transfer conditions, and tank are far and away better then most other class. It also has focus fire attacks (dagger 1, signet of spite), wide area attacks (Staff marks, wells, epidemic), and area denial attacks (Spectral wall, staff 5, Well of Corruption). The plague form elite attack is especially devestating in large fights, especially if you trait blindness to apply chill at the same time.

If a zerg has enough necromancers in it, warriors can’t do squat with their hammers, and attempting to stack boons will instead stack conditions. I’m one of an apparently rare breed, a Necromancer commander. I’ve found though I would rather play as nothing else in the front lines. Well of Corruption + Spectral Wall ruins any pain trains day, plague form gives me more armor then any Warrior can hope to attain for 30 seconds, but then, most fights only last 30 seconds anyway. And if all else fails, deathshroud with life transfer to heal my allies. Its not an excellent roaming class, true, but in a zerg fight necros are devastating. They combine the survivability of a warrior, with the damage of a ele, and the area control of a guardian. Love my necro.

Zerg: Foundation Classes- Necromancer/Guardian
Below Par=Engineer/Thief

I put the Necromancer for Zerg fights rather then the warrior, because, simply put, in the mosh pit those Wells, marks, Spectral Walls, and Life Transfer/Chains of Darkness are simply OP as hell. Not to say that Warriors are not essential, they are. But they are not as essential as people seem to think. In fact, I am noticing a major increase in pure Warrior/Guardian spam in zergs, and as a Necromancer I fully support this trend.

Havoc=Guardian/Warrior
Below Par= Engineer
havocs needs the battle standard to stay alive fighting larger forces, and they need the guardians stability. Rangers are also useful in a havoc because of their water field that can quickly heal up your warriors. so I would not rank them below par

GvG
Foundation Class= Warrior/Necromancer
Below Par= Ranger/Engineer
In a GvG stability is good, so Guardians still have their use, but the thing is, the cool downs are brutal and GvG’s tend to last awhile, so you need that constant warrior hammer spam and Necromancers spreading conditions everywhere. Without those wells, marks, and epidemics, its much harder to bring down a pain train.

Skirmish
Foundation Classes= Thief/Necromancer
Below Par=Guardian
The Thief can gank people and winnow the enemy numbers down, while the necro can play the rabbit using death shroud, plague form and his fears. The necro can also quickly get rid of his conditions and last long enough for the thieves to heart seeker the more dangerous enemies down and preventing them from being rezzed with well spam.

Dueling
Foundation Class= Mesmer
Below Par= Guardian

The mesmer is OP as hell in a 1 on 1 fight. Guardians I like to call free bags whenever I see them alone.

Roaming
Dominant Class=Mesmer/Thief
Below Par= Guardian

Also, seriously, whats with the ranger hate? They aren’t that bad. They aren’t that great, but in many cases they are more useful then Guardians, especially in roaming situations and skirmishes.

Borlis Pass- Not too hot, not too cold

in Looking for...

Posted by: Aeros.2046

Aeros.2046

Borlis Pass is a mid ranked server noted for its large constellation of WvW guilds that range in size from small dedicated havoc groups to massive forces that can summon entire zergs from the ether. Most of these guilds possess highly skilled commanders and players and are very effective in independent fighting or as part of larger forces.

The server is officially an East Coast North American server, and its peak activity is between the hours of 5 PM and 9 PM server game time. During this period, at least one map will be qued and when the server is in rare form up to 3 maps could be qued, though this occurs very rarely and usually only on weekends. For this reason, its advised any primarily east coast North American guilds consider carefully before transferring to BP if they are looking for a server with minimal prime time ques.

On average, there will be one mobile force of about 30 people hopping from one map to another using the servers teamspeak. Unlike most American servers, there is a highly active European presence on Borlis Pass, so coverage extends for most of the North American day. Guilds from the Oceanic and the European time zones will find a preexisting presence and plenty of space to spread out on.

The server is noted for its internal stability, despite the usual inter guild drama that always rears its head on occasion. There have been no major guild transfers off of Borlis since spring of 2013, and the many guilds on the server actively play WvW even when losing the match. As consequence, BP is often a second place finisher in miss matched tier fights, and finished 3rd over all in the silver league.

For those looking for stuff besides WvW, Borlis has a very active PvE and Dungeon community, with some of its larger guilds encouraging participating in PvE as well as WvW. In addition to major dungeon runs, the servers World Boss and Temple zergs are something of a legend.

It was rough, I hate desperation lords room holds. Suiciding your face into the circle to hold it till the WP timer runs down is just such an unelegant battle strategy. But it worked :P

I hear a similar exchange happened at DB Bay not to long before that.
It’s annoying that we have to walk everywhere, while BP can just teleport around as stuff needs defending — but in the end it’s our own fault for letting you wp everything and for not defending squat.

I got home from work today and we had 1 wp — EB Keep — which was shortly thereafter lost. It’s frustrating.

~ Kovu

Well, that’s what happens when you have a server almost entirely made up of strong Oceanics and no European or NA to counterbalance them. You get put in a tough tier without any force capable of holding things during the North American day and European evening.

Of course, it also means we don’t really have an answer to the massive up level karma train that runs around our borderlands at 5 in the morning. But eh, what can you do.

Too bad I dc’d from lag. =(

It was rough, I hate desperation lords room holds. Suiciding your face into the circle to hold it till the WP timer runs down is just such an unelegant battle strategy. But it worked :P

I suppose I could go to maximum over troll as its the last week in response to some of these HoD comments, but you know what, I think I’ll make my last post a positive one.

HoD, from what I have seen your zergs and so on generally get the right idea. You use siege properly and for the right reasons, and the way you try and set up fights is generally, correct. I have no doubt in the lower tiers you probably wrecked face.

The fact that you are not wrecking face against BP’s zergs is probably creating the idea that we are simply hitting you with superior numbers. This is not the case. In fact, many times when I was commanding, both on reset and yesteday, HoD had our forces outnumbered by at least 2 to 1. There was however, a major difference.

Tell me, when you crash into one of our zergs head on, how many of our people go down vs. your people in the first 5 seconds? In general, I have found that HoD’s zerg are wet paper bags, running nothing but uplevels and 80’s in full zerk gear. On reset night, I led the force that capped your overlook. We wiped you half a dozen times on the road to overlook and then another half dozen more inside your lords room, and very few people got killed for the entire push. This was reset night in Eternal Battlegrounds, so the numbers were even.

The second time I led a cap of Overlook (yesterday) you once more had the right idea and came in behind our golems rather then out the front door. But again, the execution was horrible, we just charged down the ramp and killed the entire force in about 5 seconds. While under AC fire. That pretty much sealed the deal on my thoughts about your zergs. They are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too squishy.

Another thing I have noticed is generally HoD does not make much effort to restack (MU) is an exception. What I have found is that after we have pushed through the zerg, those who have survived our initial attack can be mopped up with a second pass fairly easily. There is no cohesion past the moment of impact. Without being able to do quick maneuvers in the middle of a battle, any enemy will make mince meat out of you.

BP is hardly a mega blob server. You’ve not seen blobs until you’ve played SBI, or Magroomba. In fact, our coverage is very tame compared to some of these other servers. Most of the time we can maybe que 1 map on an average night, maybe 2 if things are going well (which this week they are). We are pretty much the border server, along with Ehmry. BP is at the point where you have a skilled player base and a few small guilds that are hardcore WvW, but not having a major persistent presence all day long that you would see from Maguuma or Yaks Bend.

Nice zoom hacks bp, very professional. So good at this game.

Hello CD. Welcome to WvW. As a server that does WvW pretty regular, we have learned, among other things, that Arrow Carts are powerful offensive weapons. As offensive weapons, arrow carts are potent at clearing defensive siege weapons inside enemy held towers.

Furthermore, Arrow carts are ground targetable siege weapons, and there are several towers that have gates with an open space between the gate itself and the archway. This allows a skilled AC gunner to fire through this breach between the gate and the wall and destroy siege that less skilled players and servers foolishly decide to place in places where offensive AC’s can engage them.

One of these places is the supply depot of langor gulch, the subject of the screenshot in your post. Borlis Pass offers its deepest apologies for your lack of skill in siege placement, but we offer hope that the lesson from this noob mistake will insure you not make it again. Even better, have your own support arrow carts that would prevent such offensive AC’s from being built in the first place. That would solve this defensive puzzle nicely, rather then relying on a “lol treb shot” on the gate to the exclusion of all else.

Again, I wish to welcome you to WvW and hope that over time you will become a valued asset to the whole and a worthy foe. As a community all of us hope to give players new to the game advice drawn from our expertise. It is however recommended that people learn how the game works before giving commentary, as it avoids the perception that they, and their server by extension, have no clue what they are doing.

I was curious. Yesterday devolved into a race between HoD and BP to see who could cap all of CD’s keeps before point turn over. That sort of game is not really my cup of tea, please come back!

No, this match up is boring. The only reason its remotely even is the PvDoor fest that resets everything. Dragonbrands NA spends all day getting used as a doormat by Ebay and Borlis, losing all their stuff, while Dragonbrands Oceanic karma trains in the wee hours of the morning.

Since Ebay and Borlis have about the same NA presence, neither server can match the 600 PPT DB pulls in the early hours. In essence, this match is boiling down to how long Borlis and Ehmry stay a sleep, and how fast Borlis and Ehmry can PvDoor dragonbrand when they wake up.

Its boring.

I think its possible Ebays NA is strong enough to keep Borlis’ NA busy enough to allow DB to PvDoor its way to the win during the oceanic. Still got a few days left though before we can be sure, but this seems to be the trend.

Caps BP’s Bay, literally 10 seconds after we capped it around 50 BP poured in with zerg after zerg to NE bay, because we all know BP has more numbers than all of us combined now. Just look at the PPT, they own all keeps except our EBG keep. BP next bandwagon server? I think so.

That was my zerg, and it was 30 people, not 50 :P You actually could have wiped us when you first saw us as we only had 20 people. Can’t imagine my relief when I saw you guys turn the other way. The other 10 were still running into the citadel as it was an emergency map hop. It did get around to the 40 range though, once the people on the map also joined my forces though, so I will give you that.

Also, only one guild has transferred here to my knowledge, and none of their members were present in my force.

I’m laughing so had at this BS Silver Thief That COMMANDS with a zerker build that just HS spams roamers all day.

That would be our guild assassin. He’s recently gotten his tag. Incidentally, BS had much fun on BPBL with our old pals ZoD again! DB too, when we could pay attention to hills anyway. Good night all around from where I sit.

Pulling guard duty on a Mesmer trying to glitch cheat. Stay classy Ebay/ZoD

You can add Void to that list as well

just an f.y.i. he was in the keep when it flipped, and died in a convenient spot for you to take that screenshot and claim he was trying to glitch cheat.

It is convenient because its an exploit. ************ ******** *********** ****** This is an exploit of a known bug, and is against the TOS of the game. Of course, I am not really as much of a hard knuckle person as to report someone for it right off the bat. I could have, but I did not.

Of course, if I have to keep posting people, or myself on mesmers trying this, I will report them, and use screenshots similar to this. Mainly because its a massive pain in the butt to have to sit on a player I’ve just killed for 10 minutes. I’ll just leave this post as a blanket warning for any other mesmers considering use of this particular exploit. Including on our own side incidentally. If I keep seeing this I will report it, and maybe Anet will do something about. Or not as the case could be, but I don’t think anyone should take that chance.

Why a month to craft Ascended?

Is there any legitimate reason for us to wait an entire day to make a bolt of damask besides just turning us into obsessive compulsive gamers who have to log in every day FOR A MONTH (Before reset mind you!) just to craft one item so we can have this fancy ascended armor?

I was mildly upset when I found out I would have to spend 6 days to craft spiritwood essence for my staff, but I could live with that, because it was “only” 6 days and once done that was it! But for the armor sets this is just crazy!

I am assuming this thing is for some sort of economics control, to keep the ascended materials at a low quantity on the market. But its pretty obnoxious. If you don’t want the stuff on the market, make it account bound and save us having to set our alarm clocks for an entire month to get the materials we need for the armor we were promised in tuesday!
