We don’t exactly know how the PoF open world will look like – Spellbreaker will be pretty fantastic in PvP and WvW but I wouldn’t call it complete crap for PvE

As Necromancer i just never die in open world, as Guardian i die a lot: one mistake and i am downed, while as Necro i can make plenty of them. Warrior is much safer option if you want to play a heavy armored profession.
So if you are a lazy player as i am, than stay away from Guardian and Elementalist for open world:)
is it a smart idea to main a revenant? a class that has almost no freedom in terms of build making and such poor balance that some of the legends are useless?
mercenary amulet (which is what I believe you want) was OP. Literally every condi build had it. And to the poster who said you need more than just condition damage. Err no. You can do just fine with condition damage. You can get duration from runes and sigils.

Paladin’s isn’t that OP because maximized power damage requires 3 stats. Maximized condition damage only needs 2, so with a condition damage, precision, toughness, vitality amulet, you would have something tanky with maximized condition damage that would end up doing much more damage than anyone running Paladin’s would do. Paladin’s doesn’t give you double crit damage, but since conditions aren’t balanced around doing huge crits, they don’t have a 3rd stat.

I have hated in other games to see the divide between raiders (small %) and non-raiders (majority) and so much dev focus on raids that only a small minority of players would ever see at the expense of focus on content for the majority. One of the things that drew me to GW2 way back when was no raids. Sad to see that didn’t last. Just didn’t make sense for this game. Really, what has it added to the game?

they release VERY few raids and they even said that there are barely any people on the raid team
raids are not a part of general progression and are completely an option in gw2 for people who want that thing,and like the very small raid team there arent many raiders
Welcome to the internet folk, game server are fine 99% of all lag and disconnects are internet related and maybe less then 1% are server relate if there are any server issues Anet will and has always quickly posted on these forums and elsewhere that they are aware of the issue and will fix it as soon as possible in this case it’s the internet so good luck.

How do people have a working connection when you have a high ping when A-Net is at fault here, if it were a server issue on their side everyone, and i mean EVERYONE, would have ping problems, not just “some”.

people connect to a-net through different routes,which a-net controlls through contracts
if one of the nodes on the way to their servers is kitten and kittens up in prime times things will be exactly the way they are now
IF however your connection is bad you will feel it on more than the GW front,which is not the case
@Vikcen : yes pvp is unplayable like this. Never had this since the start of gw2. (or no when the karka’s came we had some similar). Please give us an update ANET.
@Amaranthe, this started only recently, there is no packet loss but a big latency.
Also for people using pingplotter or so, data is always send to the end node. Data loss in other nodes means just no response on ttl = o. (could be data loss or not, but if the next node has no dataloss the previous is just not returning on ttl o.
this happened sporadically since the beginning of gw2
big patch = many people try to play = poor telia servers cant hold it = huge latency and packet loss
the explanation for the lag:
anet/ncsoft have a contract with a cheap and extremely poor company called Telia which is how we get to their servers.(its “on the way there”)
the company is notorious for being garbage exceptionally awful during peak time with huge % of packet loss.
it will never change and a-net will never comment on this because its out of their control,the higher ups made a contract with the trash can know as telia and they there is nothing the GW2 people can do about it but shut up and hope we somehow forget about it.
basically thats the reason many people here get huge pings to gw2 and yet get perfect connection to other MMOs in eu like wow or pretty much anything else.
Just had a ~3500ms ping for about 15 minutes, it is pretty funny though, what’s not funny is getting no response from anet. So…you guys playing anything good?
The very first response is all you need. The fact that you’re arguing against it “because you’re not using third party programs” seems to suggest that you already afk farm and are just looking for someone to justify it for you.
As an example: Anet has provided players with a chat box, yet they will still ban for abusive language. Third party programs are not the determining factor.

By removing variables. For software, try a different computer, a clean install of Windows or a msconfig minimal boot (least effective). For hardware, try a direct connection to the internet or temporarily DMZ your computer. Everything else would fall outside of your control.
tried a clean windows,my connection to internet is direct and my computer is DMZ.

It likely means that someone is throttling gaming ports, or all non-standard web ports. Home network? It could be a router/firewall configuration problem, or your ISP. Public network? You don’t have a choice.
I would like a power-based elite spec focused around frequent sources of fury, stealth, and a trait that grants us increased ferocity for each stack of vulnerability on the enemy.
so after a long time i didnt i used it again
i logged in to play only to see 300-2k ping which makes the game unplayable
so i did the /clientport 80 on thing and the game works perfect again(70-90 my usual ping which is about as good as i can get from israel)

Anet won’t straight-up endorse or condemn any particular combination of actions, possibly (and realistically?) assuming that if they say “A, B, C, and D” is bannable, then the community response will be “A, C, and D” is 100% bona-fide Anet approved!
Use common sense – with or without a third party tool, if you’re set up your character in a way to stay alive and logged in without player interaction -with the intent- of gathering items, then you’d have a very difficult argument against the imminent ban.
In other words.. if you have to ask, then you probably already know the answer.

actually no…in my mind as long as i am not using 3rd party tools/abusing the client and you are strictly using in-game mechanics im doing nothing wrong.
the reason im asking is because i saw a youtube video in which the recorder said someone was banned for it(apparently they banned him for using 3rd party tools even though he wasnt and that was their way of “getting” him i guess)
I’d like rifle. But what I’d really like is to have the longbow make its way back to the ranger meta. It’s ridiculous that I can’t use my LB for raids/fractals.
